One of my favourite moments is the long, awkward silence in Home.

And I've also got to throw in my love for the scene with Connor bringing Cordy the girl in Inside Out. VK really made me understand some of what was going on in Connor's head, where the writing alone couldn't do it.

Darla's death scene in "Lullaby" is one of my favourite moments because it was beautiful, unexpected and had me on the edge of my seat. Not being spoiled for the show at that point I had no idea how the writers planned to resolve her pregnancy. The closing scene was just very poignant and nicely pitched.

I didn't care for that particular Dorky Angel moment from "Fredless" but there have been others that I liked. Of course I can't remember any of them now.

I think outside of Dru's return in S2, Darla's death is my absolute favorite moment in the show. I had only been watching for a month at that point but that scene was the one that really stuck with me and made me a true fan.

Hey y'all...been lurking around and I think I've figured out ONE of my favorite moments. There's so many of them that I think I would have a hard time just picking one. BUT, I was reminded last night as I watched Salvage on TNT (I love syndication. Don't you?)

Wes is getting ready to be-head his beloved and she's going on about how he couldn't save her. She cracks the line about redemption...

"Angel's influence, I suppose. The whole 'not giving up on someone no matter how far he -- or she -- has fallen.'"

This whole time they've got Wes in some fantastic lighting that's totally showing off his scar from when Justine slit his throat. Not only was there some good comparison there, it also proves the exact point Lilah is making. Angel, after a fashion and after trying to kill him, does eventually realize that Wes isn't worth giving up.

All in all, I thought it was an excellent scene.

PezGirl, I also think the emphasis on he or SHE was where the lightbulb went on for Wes to go retrieve Faith.

Oh I totally agree, namrog. I had thought about that last night but it sorta slipped because I saw Wes' scar and it made me think of Justine and Angel trying to kill Wes and all that unpleasant stuff that happened that I'd been repressing for so long...Hee! :-)

Which brings me to another of my favorite moments. Faith and Angel when they are saying goodbye and avoiding the whole sentimental thing while being VERY sentimental the whole time. I was kinda sad to see Faith go...she would've made for a good replacement for Cordy.

ETA: One more very favorite moment. And I do mean VERY. At Wes' apartment Lilah and Wes have just finished, uhm, copulating and she leaves and Wes goes over to the closet and reveals a bound and shackled Justine. I shrieked when I saw that! AWESOME.

Man, there are so many favorite Angel moments, I have a hard time keeping track of them all. Word to everyone who exulted the S2 scene where Angel leaves Darla and Dru with all the lawyers in the cellar (which was when Angel really hooked me-that was so freaking hardcore. I totally applauded!)-that scene is my all-time favorite, hands down. However, I do have a couple of other ones:

*I think it's in S3, when Angel's whining about something in the lobby, and you hear Gunn, Wes and Cordy chorus in the background, "WE love you Angel!" Heh!

*In S2, after Angel fired everybody-when he goes back to the detective agency for that book and Cordy totally blocks his path and won't let him have it. The tension between the two when they're staring each other down is palpable, I could feel it from my couch: "Don't make me hit you"/"I dare you try!" type deal.

Man, I really miss Cordy...

*Absolutely cannot forget the Wes/Lilah scene, I think it's in "Supersymmetry", when Lilah shows up at Wes' apt in the Fred costume, complete with glasses. Wes' reaction, the whole down-n-dirty feel of it all...Lilah's too-obvious insecurity and ploys...Tasty.

I really miss Lilah too....

Speaking of Lilah, my favorite moment of the entire series is when she beheaded Linwood. I mean DAMN, didn't see that one coming! I was totally doing the Dance of Hell Yeah! once the shock wore off. Linwood was such a crap villain.

One of my favorite moments is the scene in That Vision Thing when Cordy is in bed telling Angel that she tried to be brave but she is just scared and asks if she is a bad person. The makeup and her scratchy voice definitely add to it, but I think CC does an awesome job in that scene.

I know others have issues with her dramatic acting, but that scene and her performance in the whole episode are really moving, IMO.

One of my faves is when Angel had to wear the girl's motorcycle helmet in "First Impressions." DB really played it well, and I love this exchange between Wes and Angel.

Angel: Why do I have to wear the girl's helmet?
Wes: Stop being such a wanker and put it on.
(Angel puts on the helmet)
Wes: You look great, georgeous.
Angel: You'll pay for this.

I wish we could have more Wes/Angel friendship moments like this, because this one still cracks me up.

Totally! I, too, remember screaming out loud at that!

Of course the imaginary dancing scene is howling-laughter-making, along with Angel trying not to laugh at Wesley's ineptitude during the wool sweater question debacle.

My favourite Cordy moment, the one that conveys just how far Cordelia has fallen from her glory days, is in City of..., where she looks up at the big bad vampire (whose name escapes me) and she thinks he wants sexual favours in exchange for and entree into Hollywood. She looks at her hands in her lap, then back up and says, "What do you want me to do?" It's just so devastating to watch someone who had so much verve reduced to that. And CC really sold it. I believed it completely.

Otherwise, the whole evil hand speech, and the locking of the lawyers in the wine cellar with Darla and Dru rock, too. I also found it interesting that after Dru turned Darla again, Darla was initially angry with her, in contrast to Angelus who always wants out.

I loved Angel's dream in the last ep about Spike receiving the Shanshu. There was something so wildly unreal about it. Great mix of intentional overacting and music to create a surreal scene. And I love AD's delivery of the line "Yes...YOUR reward." It really cut to the core of Angel's pain, mainly because AD didn't sell it just through saying the line, but also by pointing and using his entire body movement to really bring the emotion forward.

I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet:

Darla staking herself to save InfantConnor. Very poignant, and then the way Angel picks him up and holds him while Holtz has that weapon pointed at him....just the look on Angel's face, complete helplessness and pleading for mercy.

And on the lighter side, season 1, the gem of Amara one, where Oz comes. The next morning, Doyle is nursing his hangover and Cordelia says: (paraphrasing) "...but I seriously doubt the main characters (of Angela's Ashes) are Barney and Betty Rubble, as you so vehemently insisted last night. Also, I don't think Oz appreciated being called "My Little Bam-Bam." Freaking hilarious!

My favorite Cordy line isn't even a line, it's a noise.

Angel: You aren't going to untie me...
Cordelia: <Snort>

And Lilah had tons of them, but my current favorite is;

Wes: It's all been a lie.
Lilah: Lah. *Lie*-lah.

Actually isn't that line, "It's a lie" followed by, "Lah. It's a Lilah", I'm sort of fuzzy too, as I haven't seen that episode in a while, but that's how I always play it back in my head, as it's a great line.

The scene with Drusilla and Darla at the warehouse up until Angel sets them on fire. "Dead already? Bad soldiers!" best line ever.

Oh just before that, I have always loved this crazy Drusilla bit more than most others, "Ten little soldiers all in a line, pop (claps hands), shots rang out...down to nine."

Just the last four episodes of season 2 did it all for me. It was hysterically funny and light, which was so different for the show. And hello, it had Joss Whedon DANCING. There is no wrong there.

I actually enjoyed Faith skanking it up at the club in Five by Five and the subsequent bar fight she started. I've always wanted to do that. Also from the same episode, there was also Lilah and Lindsey looking devilishly at Faith beating the hell out of Lee. Hated the bastard.

I think my fave Angel moments were either when Spike and Angel were argueing about the Cavemen vs. Astronauts in "A Hole in the World", and how Wesley reacted. It went something like this.
Spike: Who do you think would win? Cavemen or Astronauts?
Wesley: This is what you've been argueing about for 14 minutes.
(Spike and Angel nod)
Wesley: *sigh* DO the astronauts have weapons?
Angel and Spike: No!
I thought that was hilarious!

I also liked the moment when Angel and Spike are trying to save Fred and they hold hands. No, not in that way. They have some wire and decapitate some guys. But I thought it was still very funny. Oh and if you were wondering that was in "A Hole in the World" too. Also my fave moments would be everything that Spike said in "A Hole in the World", and the way he reacted to Angel being a puppet in the episode "Smile Time".

Possibly one of the funniest moments in television: Angel dancing. That will bring a smile to my face on any day.

The open mic night scene from the Magic Bullet, especially Angel and Connor singing "Jasmine" to the tune of "Mandy."

Alright, two favorites, because there's a favorite comedy moment and a favorite dramatic moment.

Comedy: Although it is part of a much-maligned set of episodes, it made me laugh so hard I actually fell over when it happened: "Numfar, do the dance of shame!"

Drama: Angel giving Buffy the telling off she so richly deserves in "Sanctuary", although the final fight scene in "Five By Five" gives it a close run for its money. These seem to embody the spirit of redemption at this show's core.

One of my favorites is Mr. Lockley's death scene in "The Prodigal." That Angel couldn't save him because he wasn't invited? Wickedly clever. (And, as my friend pointed out, made all the more ironic by all the times he's saved people by rushing in uninvited.)

The end of Forgiveness, when Angel tries to smother Wes with a pillow, has to be the most intense moment of any Angel episode... for me, anyway!

Another favorite moment would be the end of The Price, when they're waiting for The Destroyer to come through a portal in the ceiling of the hotel, and everyone is expecting a huge monster, but instead they get Conner.

"Hi. Dad."

Still gives me chills!

I rather liked it when Spike called Angel a "tit", and Angel is all, "Did you just call me a tit?"

For once, I didn't want to slap Angel and give Spike some honest-to-goodness British dialogue.
