Not double posting, but preliminary ratings for Witchstock is out (thanks to Mediaweek and Zap2it).

Overnight: 4.5 rating/6 share
Fast Nationals: 3.1 rating/4 share

See, this is what you get when you produce a crappy episode after a 6 week hiatus. When all is said and done, I am not even sure if the episode will be able to garner over 5 million viewers, a far cry from Chris-Crossed's 6.03 million viewers.

Y'know, something occurred to me last night during one of those atrocious ads for the premiere of the 2nd Surreal Life. The WB must have a boatload of confidence in Charmed to make it the lead-in for something they've been hyping the shit out of. I'd be curious to see if the show built on Charmed's ratings or not.

[ot]Speaking of the Surreal Life, why? Wasn't it bad enough that anyone had to be exposed to Ice, Ice Baby and the mascara-caked tear tracks of Tammy Faye the first time around? Ick.[/ot]

The Surreal Life didn't top Charmed and Charmed is an asset to the WB in the ratings department. It's the only show that has been a success on Sunday nights and it's bounced back to third place overall for WB shows only after 7th. Heaven and Smallville. It's even stronger than last season.

Both The Surreal Life and Charmed scored a 3.1 rating in the fast nationals.

Well, the Surreal Life drew in 5.3 million viewers, so Charmed must have topped that.

If ratings keep up I wonder how'll they convince Rose to sign on for season seven.

How should we call this particular venereal disease? It must have either "tat" or "Phoeme". Any suggestions?

5.29 million viewers for Witchstock. Lower than The Surreal Life. Gasps.

What has the world come to?

Crappy Charmed episodes where Continuity is abducted, raped and murdered. With a completely stupid plot and a script so terible that the lead actress can't make it credible.

That's what the world has come to.

Certainly hasn't hurt them for the past 3 years.

Me too. I wonder if it is contagious to all those who wear low-rise pants?

"Prince Charmed" garnered a 2.5/4 in the fast national ratings, according to Zap2It.

Down .6 from last week? Ow. More proof that "Witchstock" was a really, really bad idea.

I wonder how many people saw Witchstock and said, "Man. I am never watching that shitFest ever again."

Probably about however many people reflect that .6 drop, eh?

To Charmed's credit, the Football special on Fox really put a damper on the ratings for all the other networks that night. Even Alias sinked to an all time low of 4.7 rating/7 share.

It was too competitive a night. The WB should had seen this coming and put a repeat in place instead.

Yeah, I know I was tempted to wait until TNT aired it on Tuesday so I could watch the Panthers/Eagles game.

2.4/4...according to thecharmedones.com. Rather dismal, but hey...it's NFL playoff time, right? ;)

Ouch, those ratings must hurt. And Mata Whori bringing up the ratings? Of course. Lyssie is sexy and talented and beautiful.

Aren't the Golden Globes on this Sunday? I would think that will also affect Charmed ratings. This is sad, but I don't want Charmed to well this Sunday either, just because I don't want them thinking that Alyssa-centric episodes get the best ratings.

I remember the Season 5 premiere being on the same night as the Golden Globes over there, right? Or was that the Oscars? Innyway, 6.3 million viewers. Not too shabby at all.

Nice try, JSP... it was the Emmys. ;) I'll have to say that's my only real quibble with the move to Sunday night. Seems to be the night that garners all the specials, award shows and other crap.

A little off topic (though I am glad 'Mata Whori' caught on), from Comics Continuum:

Angel has enjoyed renewed success in its fifth season and is currently The WB's second highest-rated series with adults 18-34.

So what's the first? 7th Heaven? Where does Charmed fall?

I read this recently in Entertainment Weekly, but can't find the article online. If memory serves, 7th Heaven is first in overall ratings, followed by Angel and then Charmed is #3. Smallville has been doing well, too.

In overall ratings, 7th Heaven is first. Smallville is second. Charmed is third but trailing very closely fourth is Everwood. Gilmore Girls is dropping year to year at fifth.

I would believe that WB's highest rated show in adults 18-34 is Smallville. Charmed is most probably third. I have no way of backing them up, but judging from the occasional ratings press release the WB put out, Charmed does better in adults 18-34 than 7th Heaven/Everwood. 7th Heaven/Everwood garner fantastic ratings in teens though.

7th Heaven & Everwood? Why? Granted I'm no teen, but I would need to be bribed to sit through either of those shows.
