PCF, I liked The Safety of Objects. Word of advice, though: have tissues handy!

So, now that we're "officially" in 2004, and the Year of Josh, does that make this, ala Y2K...YJJ?

Edited because if I can't even count spelling as a strong point, I'm in big trouble!

Here's an article about Juliette Lewis and Aurora Borealis. It's mostly about her, but Josh gets mentioned and a few particulars about the film as well. And, about that second sentence, all I can say is, tough job, Juliette, tough job! ;-)

It's funny because a pal of mine kept asking me, "Is there any, well you know, nekkid scenes with Josh in the movie?" Hee!

So, here I am, reading the script thinking, okay, when's he getting down and dirty with Juliette Lewis. Then I have to pause and say, "Oh my god. Juliette Lewis. She was in "Crooked Hearts" with the man. Oops." LMAO!

and indeed, lucky bitch. Thanks for the update ScarletGirl!

BTW, there are some "scenes" in the film like my friend wanted. Don't know how they'll appear on screen, but there are some love scenes in there. Damn, that bitch is really lucky.

June 2004 is something I really hope pulls through. It's been waaay too long for the fans to see him on the big screen.

Fanning self, trying to remain composed...

Love scenes? Like as in kinda steamy, hot made-for-the-big-screen-not-the-weeny-WB love scenes? Oh my!

Now I'm on the Lucky Bitch Lewis bus! Dammit!

LOL, please let this movie come out in June!

ETA: I'm thrilled to my tippy toes that AB is getting press already, but I'm curious as to what's going on with ILYW (I'm getting the feeling this thing will never see a release date) and Americano. I shouldn't be greedy, but, hell, this is the Year of Josh and too much of JJ is not ever a possibility!

Oh girl, don't even get me started on that. But then again, it all gets chucked up to funding and distrubution. Blah. I get the feeling that ILYW is going to be thrown into the wind, unfortunately. Which really sucks. Then again, he doesn't play a huge part in the role, but it's a part nonetheless. I'm guessing that Americano will get something soon. Cursed and AB are the ones that are going to get more attention because of the cast that'll be in them. Ah, don't you just love Hollywood politics?

And because it's cold here and I'm trapped from doing anything, I'll share some scenes/lines from the script that I have that could be deemed "steamy/love scenes". Hee.

Duncan's Apartment - Living Room - Night

Kate slams Duncan up against the wall. The kiss intensely and are in the process of undressing. The Jon Spencer blues Explosion album "Orange" plays on the stereo.

*end scene*

Ext. Duncan's Street - Night

Kate waits near her Jeep. Duncan pulls up in the snowplow truck. Kate hops in.

Int./Ext. Snowplow Truck - Later

Kate enjoys the ride as Duncan smoothly plows a parking lot. (more scenes of them driving the snowplow continue)

The snowplow is parked in a remote corner of a large, well-plowed lot. It's windows are steamed up. Duncan and Kate lie together in various (but practical) states of undress. Duncan tenderly holds Kate.

[they discuss some talk about getting out of Minneapolis] But the best line comes at the end when Kate says:

You're going sledding? That's so quaint, so Nineteeth Century. Can I come?

Duncan grins wickedly. (Hee.)

And that's all I can remember from the script in regards to love scenes. It's not a long read, but its not indexed or anything. So I'm just going totally by memory while skimming the pages. Of course, the script can't show the charm and chemistry that Josh gives off when he's with a female co-star. That my friends, has yet to been seen. ;)

Oh, word to that, m'dear! And thanks for the tidbits! You may be cold, but I'm suddenly feeling a bit flushed all of a sudden! ;-)

I so hear ya about the Hollywood politics. I agree with what you said about Cursed. Now that (knock wood) it's back on track, I would absolutely think this will get a wide release. And AB seems headed towards at least hitting a decent amount of theaters (I'm gonna go light a candle and say a prayer, just in case I'm jinxing things! ;-)) As to Americano, I guess we'll all just have to keep our ears to the ground and hope for the best. And, hey, there's always video release for ILYW!

Juliette Lewis was recently on one of the late night talk shows (Craig Kilborn?) and she played with her band. I don't know too much about her, but she came off as a little freaky...lots of fun, but weird. Her song was okay and supposedly the band's been getting good reaction to its live shows. She seemed very sincere and into being a rocker girl. My biggest complaint was that she looked too old to be playing opposite Josh, but her clothes, hair, and make-up were punked up which may have made her look harder than she'll appear in the film.

I, too, have been wondering about the fate of I Love Your Work. The last word about the film at the Cyan Pictures web site was posted on November 7th when they announced that the movie would be screened in Italy for foreign distributors. At that time, Joshua Newman, the company's CEO, noted

In the US, though several distributor offers are on the table, we've yet to reach a final decision, as technical problems with the master print have prevented us from screening the film for several more interested parties. With print problems finally (we think) hammered out, we should be able to hold the final screenings in the next couple of week, and lock in a plan by the end of the month.

It's been almost two months and there's still been no announcement about a U.S. distribution deal. In my mind, that's a sign of trouble.

I've never seen a release date mentioned for Americano, but with the Hopper connection I'm sure it will eventually see the light of day. The interesting thing about this project is that Josh's agent, Michael Bircumshaw, is listed as the executive producer. I imagine that would provide added incentive for him to get the film distributed.

Finally, if you're interested in "investing" in Josh's career, you might want to visit the Hollywood Stock Exchange. At this time, stock is actively being traded in Americano, Aurora Borealis, Cursed, I Love Your Work, and Racing Stripes, as well as in the actor himself.

ETA: Thanks, Wysteria, for the spoilers. I can totally see Josh's face as he says that last line. Ahhhhh, June can't come quickly enough.

Is it wrong to say that I've had HSX stock on Josh and all his films for quite some time now? Hee.

And ITA with you about Americano, Bronwen. Having a heavyweight like Dennis Hopper in your corner, must help some.

I was wondering about Juliette and her recent visit to Craig Kilborn. I'm glad I missed it. Doesn't sound like she had anything to say about filming. ::drat::

ETA: You're welcome, Bronwen. I must say that my own face was smiling wickedly as I read it. Heh.

Tell me about it. I bought most of my stock in Josh when it was going for well over $50 and am now nearly $400,000 in the red. I don't mind, though, because I'm in it for the long haul. In fact, I'm hopeful that the price of his stock will reach triple digits within a year or two.

Thanks, Bronwen, for the stock exhange link. What fun! Years ago in the days before the WWW, I played a really fun stock exchange game on someone's local BB. I sucked at it, but it was a lot of fun. This looks like even more fun since it's real people and movies instead of just fake stocks, though I have to admit, I'm not really that interested in anyone except Josh. hehe They need to update his little bio there, too. :-)

Is it a good idea to buy stock in the older films? I invested in the newer ones and in Josh himself, of course. :-)

Did anyone else check the other DC stars' stock? James' stock is the lowest. Katie's is the highest.

Another quick question...will it show everyone my real name? Instead of showing my screen name over there, I can see my real name in my portfolio. It also linked you to me, Bronwen, I guess because I put your name in as my referral person, and I think I can see your full name, too. Why bother having a screen name if everyone can see the real one? hehe

Wysteria, I also would like to thank you for all the spoilers and the other great info you've posted.

I do hope we'll see ILYW at least on DVD sometime, if it's not released in theaters. I thought that sounded like a really neat and interesting movie.

I guess the user name is just for the public listings and they assume that if you are putting someone down as a referral or in the same league that you know their real name. To tell you the truth, I never really thought about it before.

The HSX is actually something that's looked at by the industry. I remember a couple of years back looking at a Young Hollywood issue put out by one of the entertainment magazines and seeing an insert on the top ten winners and losers in the past year at the HSX.

That's what I did, too. But...I'm not at all competetive, so I wasn't interested in anything else besides JJ and JJ's movies. Well, I almost bought some stock in Sean Bean because he looks so hot with the raggy long hair in LOTR, but his stock was too expensive. hehe I only wish it had allowed me to purchase more JJ stock.

That's good news. I am dying to see this one. I've got a warm place in my heart for Vince Vaughn.

What are the odds that JJ would show up for the SxSW film festival? I'm guessing slim to none. Oh well. That's the one I could actually show up too.

Josh seems to enjoy festivals from what I can tell. (like I'm some sort of authority or something. Hee.) But eh, who knows. He is pretty busy with other films now, so it's hard to say if he'd have that available to fit in with his new schedule.

But yay! for Cyan getting off their arses and updating that site. Geez. Keep us in the dark why don't ya? Do you think their ears were burning from all of us giving up hope and posting about it? Riiight. LMAO!

At least their "hush hush" comments give me some hope that something big will come out of all the delays. *keeps fingers crossed*

Now we just have to wait and sit on the Americano website. Okay kids, start giving up on them and maybe they'll crack too. ;)

I am the last person in America to see the first Mighty Ducks movie, and just recently over the holidays, and I must say (even though it has been said thousands of times before) that Josh was just adorable. Even then he was leagues better than the other kids. If only it could be more Josh and less Emilio (and I say this as a true 80's movie girl)....is JJ in it more or less in D2 and D3?

Grade, I don't think you're the very last since I just saw them myself. :-) I think he was in it less in D2. I'm not sure why, but it seemed a lot less to me. However, I just watched D2 again last night, this time with the kids, and I liked it more the second time around.

I think he has the most prominent role in D3--and I liked this one the best. Even in the first movie, as you said, he was WAY better than all the other kids, but in D3, it really seemed to me like it was Josh's movie. He was sweet, there was a little angst and anger, and overall, I thought it was the best movie of the three.

D3 was focused more on the kids, JJ in particular, as opposed to the first two, which were more EE directed. I thought Josh was adorable in the first one, but the second one I have very little memory of, and since everyone is saying his part wasn’t as prominent in this one, that’s probably why I’m blanking on it. And, Gradle, I only just saw D3 about 4 months ago! The first one I actually saw originally with my niece when it first came out on video, when DC wasn’t even a blip on Kevin Williamson’s radar and I was unaware of the power this “cute little kid” would later hold over me! <g>
