Steve Santagati has been on The View more than once.  The last time he was there, he was introduced as a friend of Jenny's.  He has been around for many years spouting that crap.  He makes fairly frequent tv appearances.  He was a guest on Oprah at least once, maybe more.  Many years ago when I first saw him I thought he was doing it for shock value and to sell his book.  I thought he would flame out after his 15 minutes.  I am amazed that the jerk is still around and still spouting the same things he did 15 years ago and that they allow him to be on  these shows that are supposedly geared to women.  I am not a fan.  I think his books sell well, maybe his fans are men.

WTF is wrong when a show that was supposed to be by women, for women, about women, has to give any airtime to someone who so obviously hates women?

Has Bill Geddie been involved since day 1? You would think a woman would have his position- He doesn't help matters

The View should be ashamed of who was on the panel on Friday.  That was disgusting.

Their guest co-hosts are too controversial, imo.

Or just one note morons, in my opinion.   I don't need or want co-hosts who agree with me, I don't even need to like them.  But I don't expect them to bring this shit show even lower than it already is, which is exactly what I think Campos and that guy did this week.   How about someone funny and smart?  Or even just smart?

Speaking of which, whatever happened to Brooke Shields?  She tried out/co-hosted so much it really got my hopes up for a co-host who acts like an adult.

ETA:

Not only since day one of this show but his entire career has been with The Great Barbara Walters.   They are [business] partners.   Maybe he tried a couple other things but they never took.  Shocker.   She even got him a Lifetime Achievement Daytime Emmy last year, which cracked me up since his whole career was based on her and her career.

I think she's in a holding pattern over Manhattan.  IMO she will be one of Bab's big announcements in May (we shall see)? She doesn't seem to be needed by NBC much any more since they hired Tam' Hall.

My mother asked me who was the guy Susan Sarandon gave the weak hello to? I said I didn't know but nobody seemed to like him.

I am so glad she didn't hug or kiss him.  A hand shake was all she had to do.

While I might have been interested in what the Conservative Co-Host Du Jour had to say about linking AHA with higher unemployment, the way she launched into it turned me off,

Rachel Campos Duffy is just another conservative who goes on shows to spout the conservative  talking points.   The idea that AHA has been linked witih higher unemployment has been debunked.   It just isn't true but that doesn't stop  conservatives from repeating and repeating it. Rachel  came to the show ready to spout out a lot of  lying talking points.  JMHO

Seems to me WG and BW are trying to control the crosstalk but quite unsuccessfully. Their guest co-hosts are too controversial, imo. Let alone the lack of A listers that are unable to hold their own (unlike Sarandon).

I don't mind controversial guests - I hate that they keep bringing on famewhores who spout ignorance to get their 15 minutes of fame. There's a difference between "Bill Maher controversial" where smart people make unpopular arguments and "Steve Santagati controversial" where stupid people make intentionally incendiary and bigoted remarks to get attention. The View can keep the smart controversial people, but they need to ditch the bigots and idiots.

Steve S (never heard of him before, not going to learn his name) was not just controversial.  It was more than that.  He was insulting to the hosts and to the audience, making generalizations about women, stating his opinion as fact ("don't shoot the messenger"  is an asinine thing to use to back up your OPINION).

My opinion....Steve S. is not controversial at all. He's FAKE.  He spouts crap he knows will offend, whether he believes it or not. It's his pathetic way of making a buck, playing people.  And once people (i.e. target=women)  get angry, cha-ching...he has gotten the attention the doofus so pathetically needs to make a living. Comparable to a "reality show". I wish Whoopie and et al, rather than showing disdain for him, would have just sat there with a blank, "who cares", expression on their faces knowing he was trying to get a rise out of everyone. But that would have been boring....NOT GOOD for ratings!!

When most of the comments are all pretty much the same you have to start thinking they are true.  Sherri might have her fans but it seems like the majority of View watchers do NOT fall into that category.  I always found her annoying and she definitely falls at the low end of intelligence scale but from reading this board it seems like she has crossed the line from annoying to downright unbearable.  I don't know if she knows her time on the View might be coming to an end and she is doing one long on-air audition for other projects hoping someone watching will hire her for another regular gig or what.  I'm sure Sherri will always find employment but I seriously doubt she will ever find another cushy job like this. But then again, I used to say the same thing about Elisabeth and we all know how true that was.

Thomas Roberts is an MSNBC anchor and far too talented for the View IMO. I didn't see it all but I often wonder why they bother with guest hosts when they don't seem to let them talk. If Thomas was talking over them, good for him.

Thomas Roberts is a fine reporter/anchor on MSNBC. He's best known, personally, for speaking out about sexual abuse he endured when victimized by a Catholic priest. He also revealed that he was gay not long ago and is married to his partner.

Thomas is a tell it like it is kind of guy. On today's show when there was discussion of Kim Kardashian's escort service for that rich guy that fell apart, you could tell he was frustrated with the conversation. At one point he said, what is she famous for? Being pee'd on in a sex tape?

Now, I have heard that as well. Never seen the tape. But at the end of the discussion Whoopi had obviously heard in her earpiece that she needed to 'correct' something that was said. She announced that Kim was not pee'd on in the sex tape.

So, is that an urban myth? Anyone seen the tape? And if she was, why the huge disclaimer?

An explanation for Sherri: There have been stories for decades about how "cheap" some Christian diners are when it comes to tipping. The stories came from complaints from servers at those restaurants where groups of people went to eat after Sunday church services.  The way the customers were dressed, spoke, and behaved (praying before eating) led to the impression that they were Christians.  And then...they often left no tips at all.  I realize it's a generalization.

Let me get this straight.  With as much false information the View has doled out over the years someone saying Kim Kardashian got a golden shower is something that needs to be immediately corrected?  Wow.  I guess all the lies and distortions Elisabeth spouted off about President Obama just doesn't compare to someone saying something untrue about a reality show star.

I was late turning it on, and thought he was the wierd guy from last Friday at first.

He must have lost a bet with someone and had to go on The View. I can't think of any other reason.

Ka-Dooz (TM Ramona) to Sherri!   When seated on the couch/sofa today, she kept her legs crossed at the ankles.  At the ankles!  No longer was she shoving her leg into her seatmate's space.  She maintained that position throughout the time on the sofa...through two guests.  I'm betting she had a little voice in her earpiece occasionally, "Ankles!  Ankles."

She certainly is the know-it-all when it comes to Kim and Kanye.  I assume she's one of their paid spokesmen.

Kim Kardashian May Have Gotten A Golden Shower The original version of the infamous Kim Kardashian sex tape allegedly included a "golden shower" scene where Ray J peed on our lovely Kim. She says it never happened. (He joked in an interview with Hip Hop DX that he peed on her "like a waterfall," then claimed he was kidding.)  INCONCLUSIVE.

Good grief, today Whoopi actually said, " Apparently, according to something we read,... "   Sherri with all her usual interrupting with "It's so funny..." about things aren't even remotely funny.   Is this supposed to be informative, entertaining or aggravating?  Because they nail the last two out of three almost every day.   I didn't make it past the first 20 minutes.

A Not Hot Topic about "Christians" being lousy tippers rapidly turned into how much the co-hosts actually tip.  How much a celebrity tips has nothing to do with this lame topic, imo.    As a former wait staff, it's my opinion there are certain stereotypes about how certain groups of people tip and generally they are based in fact.  How this is a Not Hot Topic though I have no idea.  Maybe if it was a lead in to paying people living wages but only Thomas Roberts noted that the minimum wage for tipped restaurant employees is around $2 an hour.

Sorry Whoopi, unless a judge grants a request to seal a deposition (generally reserved for custody cases) it's public record once included in a motion..  Just ask Paula Deen.   I do think The Biebs wasn't really prepped or advised by his attorney on how to act during a deposition though, which is important.  Especially if you are being video taped and especially if you are a celebrity.  Then it's fodder for the rags.

What I don't understand is why these wealthy people (multi-millionaires)  sell themselves for appearances.  Did Kim really need another 500,000????  I also feel the same way when I see Jennifer Aniston  (and others) do commercials touting products that they claim they use!  I doubt that she would use a facial cream costing less than a hundred bucks!
