My husband and I truly enjoyed the show today, almost like the old days. Without Sherri & le bits and BW it was damn near enjoyable!

Just catching up and Bitsty was scratching her arms and shoulders, rubbing her legs and foot rolling and interrupted Tim as much as anyone. He said football was violent game then Sherri was defending it and Bitsy said it was not violent. She wants credit for getting a cookie in her kids lunch boxes ,what a mess she is.
How many times did Tim fall off the bench and hit his head?? Co sign on the face on a thumb made me laugh. He reminds me of Bill and it is not the bald head. As a friend used to say..a puddig face.
I get the distinct impression that if little Jeffrey wants to join the drama club instead of a sport she is going to beside herself.
Loved Whoopi asking why Faye Resnick was on the houswifes!!!

Did the online dating lady ever explain why she created a dating profile and pretended to be a man?

Oh My God, so I'm watching this segment right this very minute and they are all trying SO hard to get her there, it's hilarious, LOL. Joy, Ali & Alex all made an attempt to get her to finally explain, while Whoopi was just all "What the hell are you talking about?" Complete disaster. In other words, just another day at The View.

I think Amy was trying to say she posed as a man in order to break the code of that formula (or something) and is married to Bill Gates. Joy and Ali trying to crack jokes sure didn't help but interesting to see Whoopi and Alex be WTH?

I was surprised Whoopi wasn't aware of Betty White's senior citizen show.

Why were both Sherri & Elisabeth off? Super Bowl hangover?

Sweeps?

I have always liked Ali Wentworth and can't imagine what today's show would have been without her. The interview with Roots cast members was Whoopi reading off a card and showing clips that will be on PBS tomorrow night. She cut Ben Vereen off more than once... ack I was frustrated in the way I usually am when someone I'd really like to hear from comes on this speed show.

If Whoopi's daughter wasn't a disaster it's only because she didn't open her mouth much. What sparkling hosting skills! I had to chuckle when after taking up space on the couch during the first segment with the Roots cast, she was gone by when they came back from commercial.

I did like both mother and daughter insisting they never talked about sex. I guess that's one way to become a 34 year old grandmother Whoopi. I'm fairly sure Whoopi's daughter was on so Whoopi could get her some work - showing some clips of 11-12 year old movies Alex walked on seemed random even for this show.

She's not married to Bill Gates. It was a joke one of the hosts made when she was going into all of theories, etc. One of the ladies piped up with you should be married to Bill Gates or are you married to Bill Gates in a joking manner.

I got Ed Koch's funeral instead of the View today. Without having seen the episode, I know it was a hell of a lot more entertaining. I'm assuming she wasn't there, but it was one of those NYC moments you know BW would revel in attending.

I think Sherri is honing her stand-up skills. She'll be "standing" in my city on Saturday; lots of tickets available: $25.

Well Sherri's tweeting that she's sick and out of respect for her co-hosts opted to stay home. After that lame, poorly produced contest that aired Friday and abysmal response, maybe thumb head Tim told Geddie he's done with them (TPTB) and taking his wife with him unless they make some changes.

There are quite a lot of studies around that show incline in employee absence or loss of productivity is rather high on the charts the day after the superbowl. So even if those two showed up for work, they wouldn't have been fastidiously working or contributing at work. Sounds like a normal day to me.

Why were both Sherri & Elisabeth off? Super Bowl hangover?

I just assumed that they got drunk and disheveled while watching the SuperBowl and couldn't face the daylight and real life on Monday. I can see Bits' tiny brain getting turned on by watching the football excitement, with all that grabbing, sweating, and heavy breathing being practically a porn liaison for her and Tim. (I'm sure that she keeps football nighties for that very scenario.) And poor Sherri would use the SB as an excuse to eat every snack at hand until she was comatose.

The appearance of the Roots cast gave the show and cohosts an opportunity for dignity and class. Whoopi and her daughter tried to rise to the occasion, but Joy and that other brainless, shameless guest cohost Ali Wentworth couldn't get their minds out of the gutter long enough to try. The two comediennes were like a couple of bad kids in the back of the classroom trying to distract each other and the teacher with sophomoric dirty jokes. Joy jumped the shark a long time ago, trying to outdo and shock the men with her unfunny bad-ass innuendo. Ali just needed to be bitch-slapped or sobered up.

I totally agree, Pepperbird!!! The WHOLE SHOW was a write-off for me. It could have been an interesting show, but the silly comments & stupid questions only derailed the interviews.
Whoopi's daughter didn't fall far from the tree, IMO. She didn't add anything to the show!!!

I want them to have more guests who speak in 3-syllable words that Whoopi and Joy don't know the meaning of. It was very entertaining.

I don't even know why they bother to have guest hosts on, other than to just put an ass in the empty seat. Jewel brought up some candid things about herself today (her teeth & weight) to try and interject herself into the "Hot Topics" and she basically just got blown off and shut down by the rest of them. What a miserable, tired, sorry group of women. They don't even try to be gracious and welcoming to the people that are sitting there with them. Cows.

Another interesting moment between Whoopi & Alex -- when Alex said that her Mom says too much on Twitter, etc., and Whoopi said that the minute she stops talking they are all in trouble ... as in, 'bye bye to the pay cheques that support you & your kids.' Alex got the message loud & clear and apologized. And speaking of pay cheques, other than that exchange, Alex did nothing to earn her's today.

The Scientology segment was another hot mess, just like yesterday's dating segment. The level of interest & enthusiasm the women put into these segments equals that of the interest & enthusiasm they put into welcoming their guest hosts. And if they spent even just 10 minutes googling the topics that are going to presented that day, perhaps they wouldn't have to continually stumble over mis-pronouncing words & asking questions that don't pertain at all to the topic at hand.

I thought Hanna Storm looked really good considering what she went through. I was shocked to find out she was wearing a wig/hair extensions. I would never have known. Now, she might have spent thousands on them whereas the average person couldn't afford them but I'm amazed how real it looked. Glad to see she was recovering so well. I think she should would be a good replacement for Barbara Walters some day. Of course, when that happens I think Whoopi will have the first & last word who fills that spot.

Whoopi is an employee not a producer so I wouldn't think she would have any imput which is probably a good thing considering the stand out job her daughter did yesterday and today.

Besides Bitsy being gone, that was my favorite part. You can tell Whoopi isn't going to play with any criticism coming from the dependents.

No, I don't think there's enough ego room for a Whoopi-lite on this show. Has Alex ever appeared on anything else? This may just open a door for Whoopi Jr. since she'll have the ever prestigious "The View" appearances to put on her resume [sarcasm alert]. I just can't see mom ever being comfortable enough to share the same space outside of home. Not again anyway.

Hannah Storm looked great. I didn't know that she was in that accident until today.

Me neither. And thanks to her I finally gleaned some useful information from this crapfest; I had no idea gas grills could be so dangerous. Or, that hair extentions/weaves/whatever that was could look so good. The Real Housewives should get the number of her hairdresser.

I love how not one person at the table acknowledged Bitsy's absence today. I know they do that all the time but it never fails to delight me.

I was glad to hear a knowledgeable person spill more beans about Scientology. The girl was brave to describe it.

Whoopi's pretty daughter was quiet again today. I can't decide if...

1. She was falling asleeep like the Dormouse at the Mad Hatter's tea party.
2. She was stoned.
3. Tiptoeing around Mama to avoid criticism.
4. Watching her words and guarding her image to discourage our snark.

P.S. In the absence of Bitsy's scratching entertainment, Joy has been so busy. Skritch, Skritch. Hair extensions, or critters?

The scientology segment was not a hot mess IMO. I thought the guest was measured, composed and did a very competent job, despite the panel. I learned a lot about scientology - child exploitation, forced alienation from parents, weird tenets of the religion, differential treatment of subscribers, that whole thetan and auditing business. Katie H. was right to get out when she did.

Joy, her itchy head, and her stale joke duds are past their shelf life. I was excited in '07 when Whoopi came on board, but she just doesn't put forth enough effort. It's been too easy to sit there and collect her paycheck. The Scientology subject is always fascinating to me. I hope that the girl has protection from the Scientology goons.

I thought the Scientology segment was well done. I especially liked the part where they showed the "happy" pictures of the "camp" provided by the church and the young girl said that they basically built the camp. I don't know what to believe but just in life I think celebrity's are treated differently. I'm sure the church gives them everything they want and that's why they always defend it but its the normal people are treated like slaves & prisoners which they probably never see or hear it in person. Somehow, I don't think Tom Cruise was sending his kids to this "camp".

When I said the Scientology segment was a hot mess, I was reacting more to the ladies and their ability to waste time either asking the most basic, general questions that don't add anything new to the conversation (i.e. Whoopi asking her what Scientologists believe in ... seconds after she just explained what Scientologists believe in) or mis-pronouncing important words that are very important to the topic at hand (i.e. Whoopi trying to pronounce thetan and fucking it up royally. That is what I meant by hot mess. I, too, am fascinated by this topic and watch & read everything I can get my hands on about it because I find it so interesting. The guest did the best she could with what she had to deal with (them) but they could have delved into so much more -- like the fact that she is the friggin' neice of David friggin' Miscavige -- that is a pretty significant part of her story -- but they totally missed it. They mentioned it but didn't get the impact of it.

Speaking of Scientology, there is a new book by Lawrence Wright (that I am totally getting) that has gotten rave reviews. The reviews on Amazon are really good. I also believe Jenna Miscavige Hill will be on Piers Morgan tonight.
