As more details emerge, the story gets creepier, and the latest is Broadwell was sending threatening emails to another woman in Petraeus's life (it's not been disclosed if it's another girlfriend or someone else, like a family member or friend.) And she sent them from Petraeus's account.

I've listened to a lot of talk show discussions this weekend about the Petraeus affair, and wondered why I've not heard anyone emphasize that point: she sent them from Petraeus's account. Petraeus himself used a different (and personal) account for his emails about it. Isn't anyone else OUTRAGED that this woman was using the Director of the CIA's email account to supposedly harass another woman? Broadwell must have had the Petraeus password to do that, unless he leaves himself signed in all the time. Talk about security breaches.

I want to hear how Bitsy tries to spin such behavior, since she thinks so highly of her general-hero.

If EH is a 'friend' of Paula Broadwell, it will indeed be interesting to see what she has to say.

The reports I heard did not say that Paula used Patreaus's account - at least I didn't understant it that way. They said they were sent anonymously and were traced to Paula Broadwell's computer. The recepient (Jill Kelley) is a family friend of Davis and Holly Petreaus. Apparently the content of those emails is quite disturbing. Would love to know what they said. The nasty emails were sent shortly after Patreaus broke it off with Broadwell 4 months ago . . . .hmmm . . .

As smart as Broadwell is supposed to be, she should have known those emails could be traced. But, we all know smart people do dumb things.

The connection between Paula Broadwell and Bitsy -
Broadwell said in an interview with Jon Stewart that she got to know Petraeus by running with him. She wrote a book about Petraeus, which Bitsy loved and promoted on her Twitter account. In January, Bitsy and Broadwell ran together in Central Park, they tweeted about that. (she called Bitsy "supermom", Bitsy said "you are my hero") Bitsy probably feels important by association, she went for a run with someone who went for a run with Petraeus. There have been hints for a while that Petraeus was looking to run for president or VP at some point in the future.

It's clear that Bitsy is a long-time admirer of both Petraeus ADND Broadwell, neither of whom are looking very good right now. I can't wait to hear her take on it.

(I'm sure EH didn't know about the affair but) re: "hero" . . .married woman with kids who had an affair with a married man then after he dumps her sends nasty, threatening emails to some other woman because she's suspicious, angry and jealous.

Well, at least Paula didn't pull a Lisa Nowak diaper/pepperspray caper.

I bet she just says what he did was bad, but he is a good man and leader. "In a time of war, the stress can make you do things out of character that hurt other people, and this shouldn't take away from all the great things he has done for our country." And then say she'll have to do more research and wait for the facts before we can comment on any breaches. I bet she says Obama should have made him stay until all the facts were known, and now we are at risk.

But I mean who knows! That's what makes it fun to speculate.

And she sent them from Petraeus's account.

This detail was in the early reports. I don't know if it's since been proven true or false, but there are indications that the emails came from Petraeus's gmail account (which Broadwell apparently had access to). (This is the most reputable news account (BBC) suggesting that this is the case.)

[That said, this account (Wall St. Journal) says that the emails were sent by an account shared by Broadwell and her husband. So who knows.]

Didn't last year they begin their Veterans Day broadcast with some elaborate color guard presentation where they all got escorted out by a member of the military? (Great use of resources).

This story is so big that I can't see them ignoring it. I CAN see Bitsy conveniently not mentioning her association with Broadwell.

But then again, they have never mentioned the crisis in Syria because of Babs' gentle opthamologist friend-slash-war-criminal. (I think they're banking on some assumption that Americans don't care about what goes on in other countries. They don't have that luxury with this Petraeus story.)

The second part of Nicki Minaj's E! special aired last night and she really let Barbara Walters have it about that whole thing with Mariah, which she claimed was basically a reaction to Mariah's bullying of her up to that point. She felt that Barbara considered her to be so unimportant that she didn't even bother to contact her people for a comment to get her side and instead just went with the rumors and Mariah's side of the tail and that really disappointed her because she looks up to Barbara. She said that if this incident had happened to J.Lo, Barbara would have went to her people for a comment. She seemed very angry about it honestly. I guess she won't be coming back to the View any time soon.

Eh, the military's use of resources for things like this doesn't bother me. It makes such a favorable statement about the military that I'm sure they consider it money well spent.

The ladies of The View may not talk about the Petraeus situation clearly. My conspiracy friends are all convinced it's part of a plot by the Obama Administration to cover up the murders in Benghazi, but the gravity of losing the head of the CIA -- not to mention the embarrassment to this country -- didn't fully strike me until I read the last ten or so posts. I can only hope The View can speak about it as concisely and educationally... but I'm kidding myself, right?

This is up there with one of the most embarrassing shows for Elisabeth. First, her random "is this before or after Petraeus" question when Barbara was telling the (unnecessary, 6-minute) story about her interview with Lindsey Lohan was totally weird and embarrassing. Glad Babs put her in her place by saying this has nothing to do with Petraeus. She was trying to be funny and yet, another big fat fail. Then, there was that clusterfuck (only way to describe!) "discussion" (if you can even call it that) about the Petraeus scandal in segment 2. Yes, Elisabeth, we all agree with the sentiment that Veterans Day is important and we should remember and honor vets. But guess what, we live in real life where breaking news and scandals usually take precedent. This was not the time or place to debate whether that's right or wrong. Instead, I would have rather heard about her "hero" Paula. I bet her Team RWB told her to plead the 5th on this topic. Next, she embarrassed herself during the Gingrich segment by blurting out "when you run in 2016, Speaker!" He was totally stunned and clearly not amused. Another fail. Then Babs yells at her "can Whoopi please ask a question!" to which she replied "shurr."

What is Elisabeth's connection to the military anyway? I mean, it's great that she's so supportive, but she literally takes it overboard to the point where it almost becomes hard to believe it's genuine.

And Babs, absolutely no one cares about your Lindsey Lohan interview. No one.

Predictably, Hasselblech just muddies the waters, bleeting like the sheep she is, with her word salad about the Petraeus controversy taking attention away from Veterans' Day. What??? AND, not one word about Paula, Bitsy's jogging buddy & "hero".

BaWa burned up a whole segment talking about Lindsey Lohan (sp?). So what, who cares!!!!

And if it was a Democrat veteran who had a scandal, she would be outraged and hammering home the point that the pseron had "sullied" Veteran's day by their behavior. With Petraeus, it's TALKING about it that takes away from celebrating Veterans. When someone on HER side does something wrong, it's the media's fault for paying attention to it. Only Democrats are responsible for their own screw-ups.

PLEASE - for anyone watching, or who has it recorded, please look at Sherri's face when Bitsy was taling about Petraeus, the "irregardless" moment, and the "conspiracy" moment. Sherri let her disgust show just a little there, didn't she?

And, also, too (tm Sherri) Newt G had JUST SAID that the GOP has to not focus on the next election, and instead focus on what to do right now to work with the president, and how to address the concerns of the American people. His point was to work to get back the support of the people of the country, not to focus on "we'll get them next time." SO Bitsy, clearly not getting the message, asks him about running in 2016.

Yeah. Some are going to say that it's because she's pregnant but I noticed a year or so back that she started messing around with her face. I don't know if it's fillers, botox or plastic surgery, but it's her eyes and especially the nose to mouth area that is different to me -- really noticeable when she speaks -- that area moves differently now. I don't get it. She has always been attractive and is far too young to get into that shit.

Asking Newt & Calista about the cheating scandal was HIL-AR-IOUS. Really? You care what these two have to say about it? That is rich. And I'm pretty sure Calista is a fem-bot.

As Elizabeth starts to spout more and more of her ignorance on race, Sherri is coming unglued. Back when Sherri played ignorant, she could be BFFs with Elizabeth, but as Sherri is becoming more educated (a miracle happening before our very eyes!) I see the distance between the two growing.

I'm going to assume that Sherri's husband, Lamar Sally, graduated from college. Perhaps he has the education and intelligence to help move Sherri into a more "thinking" mode. I don't think she's a dumb person; she's just ignorant about so many things--and lets us know it every day.

Yep. And Petraeus would be a man of weak character whom the men and women in uniform had risked their lives serving. And Petraeus's biographer would be a home-wrecking hussy who dirtied the rep of West Point grads everywhere.

Gee, Bits. We KNOW the general risked his life to serve the country he loves. Not like the Dems want to Swift Boat him.

And Bits? It isn't an official conspiracy until Petraeus comes to court and pleads the fifth. See North,Oliver. (That scandal happened back when you were still checking your bosom for signs of growth, and Karl Rove was still trying to find out if a college drop out could one day be call "architect").

And catty? OK. Calista's severe hair says,"Follow my part to the worst profile on anyone outside Montgomery Burns."

I'm happy for Linsey Lohan to have cancelled the interview. I never watch BW's interviews - she goes for the jugular.
Let alone the topic comparing Lindsey's life with Elizabeth Taylor. WTH? No comparison as far as I am concerned - ET had geat talent (and beauty). I see where a Leno interview is in LL's interest, not one with Barbara. Plus it is a tv movie. Of course BW had to say several times LL has "problems."

It bothered me they said the Pretraus' affair did not breach security. The thing is is very well could have, especially since Paula seems rather vindictive emailing the "other" woman - anything could have happened, imo. Paula is a loose cannon.

I had to rewind to make sure I heard her right when she said to ABC News senior correspondent Jake Tapper, "...on BEHALF of the military families..." In her mind she isn't just supportive but has joined the ranks I guess.

Remember, Bitsy's gay friend in the military?

Vinyasa, that was a friend of a friend of her husband Tim. But you're right - completely imaginary.

I did appreciate Tapper explaining to Bits what real journalism is about, clearly unfamiliar to her since Faux News and Sweaty Geddie seem to be her sole news sources.

Yes - and recent reports are that she had access to classified info. AND leaked some info in a speech she gave at the University of Denver.
So - the relationship certainly DID breach security. I had also read that she posted a photo of Petraeua in his office on her facebook page, which is also a breach.

OK I know this may be stretching it, but I need to at least entertain the thought so I can be sane.
Maybe just maybe she meant to say that she and SAL watch the show but then she's so used to not getting through a show discussion without mentioning JEFFREY that she spouted that unbelievable nonsense. Not that I believe she watches Morning Joe at all, I mean, come on. Taking into consideration the time it comes on plus the fact that the show is on for three hours....I mean, please. I can't even imagine a show like that holding Sherri's attention for more than three minutes.

Hasselbeck was really wound up today. Interesting she made no mention of knowing her "hero" Paula.
And why is it Obama is guilty by association with Bill Ayers and such but that SHE'S not. Plus we allll know if it had been a Democratic general outed for an affair she'd be talking about how he was staining Veterans Day and she most certainly would not have wanted to move on. Oh no, quite the contrary.
