And then, of course, we had to revisit the topic of breastfeeding in public, and how those poor men (or Jeffrey) just can't help getting grossed out, turned on or giggling like 12-yr-olds if they happen to catch a glimpse of a breast being used for its intended purpose, so come on, ladies, put your boob and your baby under a tent! Once again, IDIOTS!!!

At least BaWa wasn't there to tell us again how awful it was to have to sit next to a breastfeeding mother on an airplane.

Well, now I know the apocalypse is upon us, because I agree w/ Grandma & the idiots. I am in the breastfeeding shouldn't be done in public camp, so I have to side with them. Those are words I never wanted to utter, for sure.

When Bitsy was on the left hand side of the couch someone must have told her in her ear her hip was exposed becasue all of a sudden she placed her hand and arm just so to cover her over exposed leg and thigh. She really has nerve commenting on a dancers skimpy costume when at one point I swear she gave a Sharon Stone shot.

So Sherri is surprised that her son is fascinated with boobs? Have anything to do with her bragging about shaking her ample ones in his face?

I loved Jeff's "interview" the harpies could not say a word. I also loved Reza bring attention to Bitsy being a conservative and I wish he could have said what they both really are.

Chiming in about the breastfeeding issue - They are so wrong. Nobody is TAKING AWAY formula from babies who need it. The issue was about hospitals allowing the formula companies to give away samples formula packs to mothers, for the purpose of promoting their brand of formula. Because that's what it is - brand promotion, just like when your dentist gives you a toothpaste sample, it is a subtle endorsement of that brand.

The issue is the contradictory message to parents - breast milk is best, but here's some formula. Considering that it takes a day or two for a mom to start producing breast milk, and that the hospital stay after childbirth is very short, giving formula away will discourage moms from trying to breastfeed. And if you give up too easily, your body stops producing milk. Nobody is dictating that all mothers HAVE to breastfeed. Hospitals encourage you to use the healthiest options. If you have high cholesterol, the hospital will give you only heat-healthy options while in the hospital. They don't FORCE you to eat that way when you go home. It's the same thing.

When women can breastfeed, but use the formula instead, they quickly run out of the samples and then have no choice but to buy formula. poor children end up being undernourished because the parents can't afford the formula, and the moms no longer have the option of breastfeeding after the first few weeks. Sometimes the parents will dilute the formula with more water, or give a baby regular milk, because they cannot afford formula. Both of these can cause health issues in a baby, which would have been avoided if the mom had been able to stick to breastfeeding.
Bitsy and Sherri saying that the free formula saved their kids lives?! Honestly? are they too poor to buy formula, or just too stupid? (rhetorical question)

Bitsy compared it to "taking away jello" from hospital patients. No, formula would still available in the hospital when needed. And available at the store when you leave the hospital. Just like jello, Bitsy.

ETA: Jeff Golblum, I think, decided to watch the show a few times before going on. He mastered the art of not pausing between sentences, so they didn't have a chance to interrupt. And I loved Sherri displaying her stupid grin when he showed the clip of Glee - we've heard Sherri object to the gay storylines in Glee, how col that she was forced to watch another one!

Kind of amazing that you have to actually do the show with a strategy and can't just depend on these people shutting up.

I am SO SICK of BawaWawa's right arm, attached to her crone-like hand, waving across the table to control/stop/steer the conversation. It's so rude, but the old bag just doesn't get it.

Oh, don't let her fool you. She gets it alright. The arm says she's the boss and the rest are all hired help. Which is why Whoopi won't be Whoopi.

I couldn't sit through more than a few seconds of Walters preening in self-importance in regards to Mike Wallace's death.

She never had a good word to say about him when he was alive. And I'm with her on that. I thought he was a pompous blowhard. He made Barbra Streisand cry. I will never forgive him for that. He was dead to me years ago. But you won't hear me being a phony singing his praises after he's gone. I'll save my tears for people I actually care about.

Wow that was quick for Sherri. I thought she'd get further with all that shameless cross-promotion. Maybe The View viewers can't stand her anymore than I can.

So true. I really think she thinks she's more famous than she actually is. Plus, I really think she thought The View audience would carry her along further like Nancy Grace's audiece did. She obviously doesn't know us. Perhaps it's time she got to know us better.

Best part of the show, Whoopi's made up story about a homeless person grabbing her leg and saying Sherri was robbed.

And where exactly was this to have taken place? On the loading dock of ABC studios? We all know Whoopi is picked up in Jersey and drven straight to the studio's loading dock so she can have her cig before entering the building.

When Joy lands a good one, she really lands it. The image of her and Steve trying to elope by climbing down a ladder really made me laugh.

You're right. When Joy is funny, she's funny, but otherwise yikes. Not to be picky but what I think she said was the reason they didn't elope was because Steve could never climb up the ladder. Joy, being 32, could easily climb down the ladder.

Whoopi said today that food doesn't make you diabetic. So why does my doctor consistently tell me to eat healthier if I want to avoid the family curse of diabetes?

You clearly need a new doctor. The food you eat does not lead to Type II diabetes. Smoking does not lead to cancer. And unprotected sex does not lead to pregnancy/HIV +/STDs. What kind of quack are you going to? Just read my new book: "Do Whatever The Fuck You Want, And Suffer No Consequences: In Ten Easy Steps". Available on Amazon starting May 8th. Pre-order now.

So Jeffrey loves boobies. I can't imagine where that came from? Hmmm. I'm sure having your mama's ginormous tatas jiggled in your face everyday from birth had nothing to do with it. That kid will be scarred for life. I hope Sherri is putting a lot of money aside for the therapy he is going to need in titty bars.

Look out!!! Xingu's on fire today!!!

Thanks. I think.

I've been away this week for medical reasons, so I apologize for all the quoting and responding at once. But I watched every show. I'm not sure which made me more ill...

And speaking of pics, it appears Babs showed up for work today wearing the same clothes she partied in last night. Go Babs!

Well, she probably had a little too much fun at the party, stumbled home with Frank and he placed her on her fainting couch. The next morning Icodel came screaming, "Miss Barbara, Miss Barbara, it's time to get up. You will be late for The View." BW replied, "Well, i have no time to change. Get me a new pair of earrings, no one but those stupid interweb people will notice."

Speaking of Fox News, I wonder what was up with them advertising that they had sat with Bill O'Reilly and Roger Ailes? I don't think they were just name dropping, they wanted to get that information out about how cozy they are with Fox News. Why would BaWa/Geddie think that is a positive thing for the show?

BW leaves no bell unanswered. No egg to fry. No man to pick up after.

OMG, that whole formula/breast feeding discussion made me so mad I could just spit! First of all, are we supposed to believe that Sherri and Bitsy couldn't have afforded to feed their children formula if the hospital hadn't given it to them? Secondly, I don't think anyone is advocating that hospitals withhold formula from babies whose mothers aren't able to breastfeed or aren't producing enough milk. As I understand it, what is being objected to is the routine inclusion of formula samples in the "freebies/goodies" that are routinely given to new moms by hospitals. IDIOTS!!!

So true. And it's a marketing tool. The hospitals get paid big bucks to hand this shit out. And it reduces hospital costs for all of us. If a bunch of wet nurses got together and paid the hospitals money to carry freshly-squeezed they would hand that out. There's no agenda. Like it or not, that's capitalism.

While I think Jeff Goldblum is a pompous, self-absorbed a$$hole, it sure was fun to watch him run roughshod over the shrews during his visit today! Did any one of them get in a word during his "interview"? He totally controlled the entire segment, and not one of them could figure out how to intervene - PRICELESS!

Yes he is. But how could they intervene? I don't think they understood a word he said.

My eyes, my eyes! I could have happily gone my whole life without seeing Whoopi pull up the living room draperies she was wearing for clothing today to put on and model a "C String" over her pants.

I really thought WG was having fun with the product. I was shocked that that was its real intention. WTF would buy this?

Reza was the best part of the day!

Really?? I don't mean to question your opinion, but have you seen this hot mess of a show?? He is the most pompous ass ever. I liked the SNL skit about them. "People used to think we were just terrorists, now they think we are just terrible"

For the life if me, I still don't understand what that Presley guy was talking about when he said that he was sued for fraud because a movie he made and produced wasn't released. And from what I can tell from imdb, it *was* released. Of course, neither Joy or Bitsy asked any follow-up questions (or a simple, "Wait, what?" would have sufficed.) If it ain't on the blue card, it don't get asked.

Goldblum may be pompous and self-absorbed...but I enjoy his smart-guy personna. I'm always happy when he shows up on a talk show and I try to see all his work in TV and film. He's a kind, friendly, and cool guy in the L.A. bar scene where he shows up to play piano at a few choice spots.
And that sexually titillating (pathetic pun intended) breast feeding. You KNOW those mothers are out there just trying to snag the attention of men. They flop out a breast, prop up a baby and then leer at every innocent male walking by. Breast feeding is hotter than sripping, pole dancing, and porn. All sexual all the time...and it's the only reason to use that inconvenient method of feeding one's child. Sherri knows!

What a mess that Romney/"Dignity of work" topic was. At first, I gave them credit for bringing it up, because it is a topic that is putting Romney in a bad light and I would expect Geddie, and Roger Ailes' buddy, BaWa, to not allow that. But once it started, and Bitsy immediately fogged up the topic with "Bill Clinton" and specifics of the policy, I got it: Defense of Romney through distraction and obfuscation. It is in the news because of the double standard, between poor women forced to leave their homes and children to "have the dignity of a real job" and rich Ann Romney types who don't need to work outside the home and are considered noble and beyond reproach for it. And the fog deepened and spread and no one ever allowed for this point.

Make up your minds, The View Audience:

"Brad and Angelina are finally engaged" - major applause.

"Aziz Ansari is single" - major applause.

Has Sherri always done this "as a mother" stuff? It seems she says that every day now.

Yes, MedicineCrow, that was pretty tense. BaWa didn't seem to want Sherri to speak, saying "You've already said that (No, I didn't)...Yes, you did! Last week! (No, I didn't)". I wonder what was up with that.

BW just wanted the conversation to be about gun control. She does that a lot, when one of the ladies starts to go off topic she will try to redirect the conversation with something like, "But that's not what we are talking about here..." or "Yes, we've talked about that..." She actually realizes that the show is on a loop most days with everyone saying the same things over and over... but then she was confused today about the re-enactment graphics in Meredith's documentary so we have to keep guessing about her grasp on reality.

Elisabeth was getting dangerously close to encouraging gun control laws, and I think she knew it, so then she said we better be careful not to go back to the 60's when only the police were allowed to have guns, to which Joy said, "What century are you talking about?!?"

And we finally found a topic that Whoopi can have an opinion on: Clinton's welfare reform, because she was there!

Yes, I've noticed it too, but chalked it up to her piggy-backing Hasselblech's entry into a subject & trying to one-up her. Hasselblech's word salad about gun control today was quite amazing. To flap her lips for so long (while Bawa was listening to her "prompter" & had a stunned look on her face) & say so little that was actually sensible is mind-blowing. YMMV.

Babs "description" of the new HBO series Girls was hilarious and gross and wrong. I wonder if HBO will be pleased or pissed to have their new series [billed as a comedy] likened to a paperback of female erotica. Having read a few reviews and the seen the trailers, I think Babs misunderstood the show. But as often is the case, I really don't know what the point of that Not Hot Topic was supposed to be. She certainly was interested in Bitsy's sexual likes though - unlike myself.

Yeah, Cosmocrush, I hope Barbara misunderstood the premise of the show. Sounds like she did a mash-up (how modern!). Perhaps she's putting a book review and a movie review of two different projects--and the info she has on "Girls," into one big show. Since I liked the work on "Tiny Furniture," I plan to see the writer/director/star's progress in "Girls."

This show was a mess today. Barbara talking about the HBO show Girls was just jibberish. And the show premiered last night not this Thursday as BW said. And she seemed overly interested in Elisabeth's sex life. Or lack thereof.

Yes Elisabeth did seem like she was endorsing stricter gun control then some voice in her ear (or her head) probably said "Danger, danger, you're sounding reasonable" so of course she spouts some word salad about not wanting to go back to a time when citizens needed guns to protect themselves from the people who were allowed to have guns. And she said this was the 50's and 60's???? I wasn't alive during those decades but I'm pretty sure we didn't have armed government militias terrorizing non-armed American citizens with firearms. So Elisabeth went back to sounding unreasonable and the ice storm in Hell stopped.

Also Elisabeth contradicted herself (yeah I know big surprise). She was supportive of Ann Romney staying home while her husband made the money, therefore relying on him for support BUT she thinks it's good for women receiving welfare to get a job so they won't be relying on a man. I'm convinced she doesn't even listen to the words that come out of her own mouth.

That was probably the start of her excuses after she felt she had tried EVERYTHING to get on the show without success. Instead of throwing in the towel realizing she wouldn't be invited, she started a new storyline about how she "could never"...and the rest is history!

Just what was Sherri trying to say yesterday? That she would rather have community watch people have guns? The way she was couching her example, and based on what's been happening, I think it more likely that Jeffrey would get shot. I mean, she kept saying "as a mother of a young child" she's afraid that if Jeffrey's caught in the same situation, then...what? Lord, she gave me a headache. I wish someone on that panel would have asked her to tell us all what she meant, because it seemed to me that she disagreed with Bill Cosby about how community watchers shouldn't have guns. I'm actually with him on that. You see something suspicious, call it in to the cops.

I lauged when Joy asked Elisabeth what century she was talking about. Because honestly? Haven't we all had access to guns since way back during the Revolution and even before then? Elisabeth is SUCH a maroon and a nincowpoop.

God, it was so much more casual and fun (didn't they even have newspapers on the table?). Now it feels like I'M going to jump out of my skin listening to these bitches try to fit in all of their agendas.

So what exactly would be the problem with law enforcement having the majority of the guns? Elisabeth said it like we need to be a vigilante society with all of us carrying guns. What an idiot to try and make that point when the discussion is about a vigilante faux neighborhood watch guy murdering someone with a gun.

I need to be clear about something: They all wear/have earpieces where producers can speak to them with instructions etc., right? I'm assuming that Pig Geddie (who sits in the back with a microphone in his hand) speaks directly to Bitsy (and, according to Rosie, they spend an hour or so before the show going over the points they want to get across that day.)So, does Bitsy really, honestly believe (or even understand) half the things she says or is it just a means to and end with her? I mean, is she just happily playing a "role" on the View and the media-lite and laughing all the way to the bank or has Pig Geddie (and Babs too, I think) hit the jackpot and found someone they can mold/"mentor" and who does believe all the hooey she (well, they) spouts?

I mean, I think for Whoopi and Joy it's all about the paycheck and visibility factor (that helps them get/promote other gigs) and, of course, Sherri being A MOM and all she needs the dough too and maybe gives some folks the hope that no matter what your level of intelligence, if you play the fool and you are a MOM, maybe you too can be a "stah". I don't know. It's such a shame "she waz robbed!" as Whoopi keeps reminding us. Seriously Whoopi, are they giving you a bonus for every time you say that? I'm guessing ABC thought for sure that Sherri would make at least top three and this probably threw them for a loop so they have to keep "reminding" us that she was "robbed" which is a way of saying "bad View audience! why didn't you dial your fingers to the bone to save Sherri!? Bad Viewers!"

I'm no longer sure why I watch this show but, conversely, I do know that I can't seem to not watch it either.

I would think some network could find a semi-regular role for him. I know he probably does not want to be tied into a daily gig, but something in a semi-regular spot would be great for him. I know Baba would not give him a spot though and Geddie....well....
