Y'all. It's been too long, and we need to socialize. Since our last get-together, I turned 24, mr. mem and I broke up, and now I've got all kinds of free time for booze and bad TV. (I'm also accepting recommendations from reliable sources for single men who don't suck and meet a short list of basic requirements.)

Anyway, this weather is too frigid for my taste, but maybe we can plan something post-NFL playoffs?

Hello, all. Happy belated birthday, mem, and I'm so sorry about the former mr. mem--obviously he was unworthy.

Yea! mem's 24! Boo! mr. mem! Yea! Booze and bad TV! Boo! Chiefs lose in the playoffs! Yea! Rams lose in the playoffs too!

I'm ready for a night out...let's get to planning, folks!!

Edited becasue it's a Monday morning, and that's just how Mondays go sometimes.

Ha. I love it when terri trash talks about the Rams. I won a bet with mr. mem on that game, which makes it even sweeter.

oh yes - mr. mem is back (yeah, I know) and this girl is ready to have a night out. I need queso! I need tequila! What Mexican dive shall we inflict ourselves upon next?

It's busy season at work, so margaritas and queso are just what I need! Any ideas for a date? I'm pretty flexible except for Mondays.

Eeek, probably can't make it to THIS TWoPCon in KC, but maybe the next one...

(one of the stations up there offered me a job and I'd be a fool to turn it down ;-))

Well, I guess we could try Sol Azteca once again, since we all know it's located on the Kansas side. Do you trust us to show up this time, whirly?

And it should be soon! I'm free (or at least really cheap!) so far except for the 22nd, and the first week of Februray (mr. terrilynn was offered a position in San Diego, so I'm going with him to check out stuff...and make him see that Kansas City is really where he should be!!).

I'm pretty swamped at work until mid-February...what about the week after Valentine's Day? I gave mr. mem tickets to the KU/MU game at Lawrence for Christmas, so as long as it's not that night, my schedule is pretty negotiable. whirly, you'll have to give us directions to Sol Azteca if we decide to try that again!

(Congrats, amnewsboy! When you move here, be sure to live on the Missouri side!)

I'll be heading home to the Lou in May for a wedding, and wanted to check if maybe something would be happening then. I've talked to so many of you guys in different threads -- I'd love to meet you!

That sounds great, prop chick! I'm always anxious to meet fellow Parkway Southers (Parkway Southians? Whatever.)

Since it usually does take about 3 months for us to put anything together, let's discuss. It's been quiet here, lately, so which other St. Louis Twoppers are out there (Miss Chanandeler Bong? - I know you're lurking somewhere), and want to get in on this?

Here's a thought..... TWoPCon: COLUMBIA. That way everyone's traveling the same amount and we could make a day out of it...

Hi! I'm here. Thanks to Pen for callimg my name. I've been a-lurking, but haven't noticed any activity going on in here. I've been in mourning since the Carolina Pantiliners took our spot in the playoffs. [small voice] though the way we played in the playoff game, the deserved the win [/sv]

Anywho, I'm in. I agree with Miki that a mid-MO TWoPCon would be a great idea sometime (Terrilynn - I would happily hold your hand if you have to enter Tiger country :) ). But if Prop Chick is coming home, we should meet in St. Lou, too. What weekend in May, PC? Pen, we'll have to put our heads together (Ouch!), and find cardinalsfan, josh some-year-or-other, and other St. Louisans. KCers, come too :)

I'm not picky. Anyplace we can find is fine with me :)

As for dates, my schedule isn't too bad at the moment--Mondays are out for me, but pretty much everything else is flexible.

If it's all the same to y'all, I'll take a raincheck and come to the next one after the early March one... I'll be moved in up there, but that week's going to be busy as all hell while I get my work schedule and such straightened out.

(I'm excited about the move, though! :))

Sure, count me in, ladies. Just say when and where. Y'all know I'll be there! Here, whirly, whirly, whirly! Where are you hiding?

I think that a Mid-MO con would be fun, Miki. (I know I tease you MU type folks alot, but I've spent some time in Columbia, and it's actually quite a fun little place.) Let's work on that for maybe early June? Just a thought. Anyone else interested?

Edited because correct punctuation is hard!!

Are you on the MO or KS side, amnewsboy?

My schedule is pretty busy in the next few months, so pick a date and I'll try to be there! Wednesdays don't work for me at all.

Hi, y'all! Sorry, things have been kinda nuts around here, but things are finally settling down. Pretty much any day of the week is ok for me. The 3rd week of March is out, but anytime before the 12th or after the 20th or so is great. We need to do something soon, it's been too long! Anyone want to try Sol Azteca again? It really isn't that hard to find, honest.. everyone knows where Rosedale Barbecue is, right? It's right next door. Or we can pick some other place that we can all find for sure.

Terrilynn, a June Mid-MO TWoPcon sounds fun, but Miki would be out of school then. Miki, will you be summering in Co,MO?

I am proud to say that I'll be living on the MO side. :)

I do want to come to a TWOPCon (if y'all will have me), but I do need to get settled in first.

Of COURSE we'll have you! (I also live on the MO side, so based on that alone, I think you are wise.) If we wait until later on in March, will that work for everyone?

Ms. C. Bong, summering in Columbia: I wish that would conjure up visions of lying on white sand beaches with a little fruity drink like summering in the Hamptons.... but, as of right nowish, I am declaring to be here for the summer. If not, we could move it up to the second or third weekend in May (I have a wedding the first weekend, the second one would be stop weekend, and the third would be perfect). But let's just try for Summer 2004. :) Especially since that time of year would be perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon at the winery....

Oh, I am sooooo there!

Ok, so KCers, let me get this straight...we're looking at some time in March, but not between the 12th and the 20th. That's not a Monday. Or a Wednesday. Boy are you all a big pain in the ass! Actually, I guess after the 20th works best for me then. I'm getting my wisdom teeth pulled on the 11th (they haven't done me any good anyway), so I'll be really, really loopy that weekend. Not that anyone would really notice a difference...

Hey there Miss Bong!!! Are you counting the days until training camp begins too? I hate this time of year...with the exception of March Madness. Rock Chalk, baby :-)

Hi Miki! I thought "summering in Columbia" was quite the oxymoron, but it sounded so good! You will be there this summer (condolences :) ), then a summer MidMo TwOPcon could work. What does the rest of the peanut gallery think???

terrilynn, I miss my Rams! I love the Cardinals, and everyone is thrilled by the words "Pitchers and Catchers report", but there's nothing that "does it" for me like football!

No reason for condolences..... I adore Columbia and really wouldn't be here if I didn't. There's just something about it that I love. Anyhow.

I am trying to get internships, so I'd prefer it if we planned it for the middle of May rather than June, but as I have no idea where I'll be, May is safer. And I think going to the winery would be great- if you've never been to Les Bourgeois, it's got a fabulously pretty blufftop A-frame as well as a phenomenal restaurant. Snark is always welcome! Plus, the A-Frame (while it says that outside food isn't welcome) is perfect for picnics...they have never busted us on it, as long as you buy a good deal of wine and other beverages, they don't bust on you. I'm thinking a appetizer/dessert potluck.

Let me know what we think and we can start the planning process!
