Ok it's now mid-January. When shall we start planning our next gathering. Maybe we could get together and play games and whatnot. I would like to do another one like we had last year at the apartments. That was a big crowd and we had a good time.

Perhaps a "welcome babychick" party then? Only, quiet?

Which could double as a "Woohoo! shortchick can drink again" party. You did seem to be looking forward to that.

Oh, Hell Yes. Can it be the worlds quietest con? Where I get drunk. Or at least tipsy. At this point one beer or glass of wine would probably put me under the table. I am so ready.

Hi all!

New to this forum, but not that new to TWoP. I recognize some of y'all from some of the other forums I haunt (NBC soaps, SaTC, SFU). Just wanted to bump this thread up a bit and ask if anyone had further considered a February/March gathering? I've never been to any sort of TWoP event and would love to start!

Hi ChickenGrrl. I think we can start planning, since January is finally over. That was the longest month.

Guess what? I have a baby. Colton Edward was born 11:13 am on 2/03/04. Weight: 6 lbs, 3 oz. Length: 19 1/4 in. He looks exactly like his sister. When we get our new e-mail tomorrow, I'll update my profile. I can't be reached by the current one, it is my work e-mail. I am not opposed to having visitors in the next couple of weeks, if anyone is interested in a semi-quietcon.

Congrats on the new addition to your family, shortchick. I trust everything went well?

I'd love to go to another con. I sorta/kinda mentioned to my husband about hosting one at our house but he wasn't too keen on that idea. I would be interested in whatever else y'all would like to do.

Oh, YAY! Welcome, babychick!

A semi-quietcon would not be amiss. Or, if Shortchick is up for it, we could just, y'know, MEET somewhere where they serve alcohol and she could get quietly hammered. Whichever. :-)

I would not be opposed to either option. I love having people over and Mr. S. just got this cool movie trivia game. On the other hand, a couple of weeks by myself and I may go stir crazy and have to get the hell out of the house. When we settle on a date, we can make a decision on venue.

Congrats on the baby! What a cool birthday. :-)

I would be game for a quietcon. Is the game Scene It? I love that game.

Yeah, Jensplace, that's the one. We haven't actually played it yet, but we toyed with it a bit, and it looks really fun. And after spending some time with our new addition, it seems we won't have to be all that quiet. He likes background noise. My e-mail is Shauna_Stallings@hotmail.com.

Movie trivia sounds like fun! I also have an '80s/'90s music trivia game that's fun that I could bring, if anyone's interested, and if we're making a game night out of it. I'd be up for a quietcon OR a LoudPartyInABarCon, either one. I might even order the Tubey shirt I've been wanting just for the occasion!

I'm thinking we should set a date for this shindig. I'll get the ball rolling with a suggestion: how's the first weekend in March sound to people?

Oh, and congratulations, shortchick! Can't wait to meet the shortbaby.

How does Saturday March 6th sound? I'm on vacation all that week. Woo! medievalboy and I can drive up.

I am TOTALLY down with that. This can happen in one of several ways:

1) I am always up for having guests in my home; additionally, it's conveniently centrally located between Austin and Dallas and we can get the new (San Marcos/San Antonio/Austin/Waco) forum people in on the fun. Plus, already baby-friendly.

2) We can impose on Shortchick, Mr. Shortchick, Girlchick, and Babychick and have The Quietest Con Ever ™ in order to facilitate that which was the purpose to begin with: Getting Shortchick plastered.

3) We can do something else in Dallas/Fort Worth.

Suggestions?

Any of those options sound good to me, leychilde. I must admit that I'm somewhat partial to the Waco location, as the drive is so much shorter, but I am willing to head up to the Metroplex if it's more convenient for the folks up there. Especially those with newborn children.

I think Tubey ate my first post... Anyway, audit season is ending and I am starting to peek my head back out into the world. I am always up for a roadtrip! If you all want to have it in Dallas, I can try to get the clubhouse again. Just let me know. Either way, I can't wait to see all my TWoP buddies!

Actually, those with newborn children might relish a few hours away from said children. Cause I can't get a freaking break. Though I'd love to go to Waco again, it might be a bit of a trek, since Colton is nursing. I don't mind hosting at all, it would be very convenient for me, but I don't want to force anyone to come all the way out to Plano. I'm just looking forward to seeing everyone again. The 6th sounds fine to me. I'm flexible until the 15th. Then I have to go back to work. Poo.

Speaking as one of the people with the longest drive, I don't mind coming up to Plano. And yuleminer and leychilde are more than welcome to ride with me, so the drive won't be so bad for us southern folk.

Oh, how inexpressibly sad. Waco is "southern".

Anyway, the 6th is fine with me also, and Dallas is also fine, and since it looks like I'm not hosting, I don't have an opinion as to location. :-) But wherever we do it, we need to bring snackies. I can be in charge of coordinating that (again) and I imagine we can bribe medievalboy to be in charge of the Tubey Cake (again). So that's food. Next!

How about this weekend in Waco? I will happen to be there . . . :)

Dallas and Plano are a bit far for me, but with some right planning, I can DEFINITELY do a Waco one. I'll even drag my fiancee along; I'm working on getting him hooked on TwoP so he won't make fun of me for spending so much time on here. And now that I've discovred the forums (okay, so I've been a loyal fan for 3 or 4 years now and I've never gone to the forums, I know, I'm a loser, but I'm making up for lost time!) I'm even worse than before.

Anywho, congrats on the baby, and I look forward to meeting some or all of you. I'd offer to host, but my fiancee only has a small apartment . . . maybe after we get married and I get a house we can have a HUGE get together at my place, kinda a house warming and twopcon all in one! (keep in mind this is at least a year away . . . )

I imagine we can bribe medievalboy to be in charge of the Tubey Cake (again).

Well, I can try, but I can't make any promises, as I'm already doing three cakes in the first two weeks of March. (Why yes, I am quite insane. Thanks for asking!) The sooner we know final details, though, the more likely the reappearance of the Tubey cake will be.

I tried to post this yesterday, but the server thought it was snacktime and ate it 3 times.

Unless there are major objections, should we plan on March 6 at my place? I can make a cake, though it won't be Tubey. I'm not that talented. I can manage Spongebob, out of neccessity. Gracie is addicted to all things Spongebob. The kiddos will likely be there, so hope no one is kid phobic. Gracie is very entertaining and Colton is kinda lumpish. Is early afternoon good? Oneish?

The purpose of my reply is twofold:

1) We need to get back on the front page.
2) I talked with Medievalboy last night as he was driving to Houston for, like 24 hours (why, yes, he is quite insane! Thanks for asking!) and we have a TubeyCake™ idea, plus which, if Shortchick is hosting AND dealing with two children under the age of three, she really ought not to be expected to bake, as well. So TubeyCake is under control.

Any other ideas for snackies?

I can provide chips and salsa and my try my hand at guacamole. I can also get some soft drinks and beer.

Can we get a head count so I know how much to get? Then I'll send out directions to those interested.

Where in Dallas do you live again, and how far was the drive from my house? I'd have to be at work at 4 p.m., otherwise I'm game.

I live in Plano and it took about a half an hour to get to your place. We can start as early as 11am if that will get more people here. I'll be up roughly around daybreak anyway, so no big.

I'll come! I just need some directions. I will bring something but probably store bought. Wings, maybe? Anyway, I could be up there around noon or so.
