Now that we don't need to save TWoP or kick DC's ass, are there any normal, alcohol-fueled, facial-and-manicure-free, don't-have-to-get-out-of-bed-before-10-AM, Tubeylicious events in our future?
I believe there's something to celebrate, as you know if you read the Bugs/Feedback section like a good little poster -- MisterZ and EponasWildDaughter got married today (yesterday). Where did they meet? That's right. TWoPCon NYC. Maybe they'll tell us more, but the Z-man posted here about it. I think I was there -- was it the one on the Lower East Side? November-ish?
Many congratulations, you crazy kids!

Oh, and if you can make all that cold you have go away, I would greatly appreciate it.

Then we'll have to see about changing your username to Douginnyc.I am going to be moving to NYC in two weeks from Dallas
mr pseudo & I might be able to do something in February, but March is better - on top of his travel schedule, we're prepping for my grandfather's 100th birthday!

Yeah, it's been WAAAAY too long since we've had a regular NYC TWoPCon, as fun as the Sephora one I went to was. The last one was I think June or July in Central Park. February is doable for me, but like pseudostudent, March would actually work a little better. I'm taking a class for the next month and it'll be over by then.

Are those of us in CT welcome in the NY group? I just started posting here, even though I have been lurking for quite some time. I would love to meet some of the fellow TWoPers in the area!

I had lunch today at Blue Smoke, on 27th between Park & Lexington. Good barbeque, big room, and they've got some kind of jazz club downstairs. I don't know if they do anything special on the weekends as far as mid-day brunch or evening music, but it's a good place for us non-vegans.

I'm more of an eater than a drinker (ok, I'm a total lightweight - one drink is all I can handle<g>), and bars can be a noisy place to try to get to know people. But as long as someone scopes out the acoustics of a place beforehand, we should be ok.

There's definitely enough places to pick from. East Village there's Ike's, which is mid range price but never too crowded at happy hour (the few times I've been) & I believe has food. There's a divey place which is pretty large on the LES, called like Club Lotus which is neither a club nor a lotus, but tons of seating, and off the Rivington/Ludlow stretch that it's not too crowded (i've only been a couple times but would be willing to scope..but no food). Someone else can pipe up with some ideas above 14th Street.

I'll keep checking to see where and when everyone decides to meet. Sounds like fun!

All the way from 86th to 85th! Hee...I'm a westsider, but I would make the trip
Okay, good work, that place looks great... March? Fine, though I'm rehearsing or performing all but a few nights that month, that's my own problem. How about a day of the week? Weekends might be hard to reserve the "back room" in a hip 'n' happenin' spot like DT/UT. Although many of you surely work normal jobs and prefer Fri/Sat. Somebody, run with this! (I don't plan parties, it's rare enough I even attend them...)

Quit stalking me, pd. Seriously though, trekking all the way east to 2nd Avenue is the very least I could do to meet up with you good people. All the way from 86th to 85th! Hee...
I would just suggest doing it on a night when there is no band scheduled at DTUT. March works for me - I don't care about college basketball, and most shows will be in reruns after Feb sweeps. Maybe stay away from Thursdays for the Survivor-philes amongst us.

DT UT sounds perfect...I'll try to forget that the last time I was there it was on a VERY bad date!
Wow. I've had a BDA (bad date experience) at DTUT also. I haven't been back since.

well, this is a bit freaky - as another member of the club with a bad date experience at DTUT.
Not that I wouldn't go there again... but.... could this be some sort of omen?
