On a more somber note, security was super-tight, and it's a tad hard to party when the SWAT team is setting up 10 feet away. A grim reminder.
Happy 2004 to all...I'm off to buy more Excedrin. :)

We went to Downtown Chicago for the fireworks at Navy Pier...
I caught them on TV. You braved the crowds for a fifteen-minute fireworks show? Are you sure you hadn't been drinking before you left home?
I'm getting too old to stay out all New Year's Eve and ramble home at 5 AM. Of course, this doesn't stop me from staying out all New Year's Eve and rambling home at 5 AM, because I'm an idiot.

My new boyfriend is 18 (I'm 24, turning 25 in March), and it's fairly serious. Majorly serious. Probably because he doesn't act like he's 18 (fuck, he's probably more mature than me).
It's working fine so far, and the age thing hasn't been an issue. Even his parents love me. But any pitfalls etc I should be aware off?
I've only seen benefits so far. :P

I was 19 when I started dating my then 24 year old boyfriend. I got along quite well with his parents and friends. He got along with mine. But, the problem we ran into when we first started going out was lack of places to hang out. His friends were all his age or older; my friends were all my age or younger. And because of the stupid 21 drinking age, we always had a lack of places to hang out. It seems stupid, but not having anywhere to go kind of put a damper on things. Going to the movies, out for coffee or staying home gets really old after awhile. We started spending more time apart- especially weekends. It just made us argue because we never had anything to do.
Other than this one pitfall, every thing worked out well. My boyfriend was older, but we seem to be in the same groove maturity wise. I was just starting school, he was finishing. But now he's established in a career and I'm about to graduate. And of course, I'm now 21 so I can actually go out with him and our friends. Things are great now. It hardly feels like there is an age gap at all.
