Characters We Hate

while we're at it, let me throw in Joey Potter, because honestly? can't understand WHAT people saw in this girl. She is boring, self absorbed, and has two toned hair. She and Dawson deserve eachother, now and forever
Over in The OC (bitch), i have to extend my deep hatred to Marissa Cooper(the bot) and Oliver (Mr. Lip Sweat himself. side note, he was on Dawson's Creek- seeing a pettern...?). I don't really know if it is Mischa Barton that kills Marissa, or if she is poorly written, but that is one self absorbed, spoiled character. This is a girl who gets drunk and lashes out at her boyfriend (the beautiful Ryan Atwood, why would anyone yell at him?), all the while knowing he was just abandoned by a drunk raving lunatic (much like herself). Add to that the obvious fact that Marissa has no personality and you get one awful character.
Oliver is smarmy, and he is a stalker. Also he fabricates girlfriends, implies that Ryan did not love Marissa (i still don't think he does, but Oliver? SHUT UP), and continues to ignore his sweaty lip. He obviously has bad judgement if he is interestd in Marissa, but like I said of Dawson and Joey, theese two desrve each other. I hope they live happily ever after in that psych ward in San Diego that Julie wanted to send Marissa to, because that is where these two belong

In one scene, Speed tells Trixie she looks "groovy" and could they please get going. Trixie says that there are a lot of pretty girls in Japan (they were in Japan for this episode, and, see, they aren't Japanese) and she needs to look especially good so that Speed won't look at any of them. Spritle* (sp?) says that Trixie's been getting ready for three hours. Healthy, Trixie, healthy.
*After telling on Trixie, Spritle then wonders where Chim-Chim is, saying "He told me he was just going to take a bath." He told you? I guess Spritle and Chim-Chim communicate telepathically.

Now I'm going to express an opinion in which I am well aware I am virtually alone: The SEINFELD cast.
MaggieElizabeth, you are not alone. I tried watching, many times at that because I have some friends who are hardcore Seinfeld fans. Even if I found some of the shows amusing, I just really hated all the whiny characters. Drove me nuts.

This show has deservedly become classic because it was funny, but I will not lie: These people were detestable.I tried watching, many times at that because I have some friends who are hardcore Seinfeld fans. Even if I found some of the shows amusing, I just really hated all the whiny characters. Drove me nuts.

I reserve a special pocket of hatred for characters who do that. When John Hudson and Felicia Gallant had their affair on AW, their smugness towards John's wife Sharlene was overwhelming and it destroyed both characters for me. Felicia, who I had once liked enormously, was redeemed somewhat after she and John broke up and she ended up married to a much younger Russian writer who married her to stay in the country and then fell for her. Classic soap stuff.

Nikki Newman
What about Victor? He thought he was God's boss. He probably still does, but I haven't seen Y&R in years.

Serena from L&O. Oh, how happy I was when this prop, I mean "actress", left Angel. Little did I know.
And from Angel, Kate of course.
Amy from Judging Amy. World's worst single mom, world's worst judge.
The BtVS hate-so-much award goes to...Buffy herself. She evolved from a likable teen into a complete jerk. In the real world she would have had to face The First by herself after her friends told her where to stick it.
On ER? It's a difficult choice, but Carter can just stay in the Congo for all I care. Seriously, they dropped the chopper on the wrong guy.
Remember way back when Northern Exposure was still on? Remember the new doctor who showed up after Joel left? Hate! Die yuppie scum!!
And finally, the one character that Smallville needs to kill painfully is Lana. I was going to do a little leg-pulling here and say Lionel, but I don't have very good medical coverage. :)

On Buffy, Kennedy was painful to watch, but at least she wasn't in as many episodes as Riley. The character was perfectly boring and boringly perfect, and the actor delivered most of his lines in a bemused monotone, with his face frozen into an idiotic grin. May possibly have been the secret lovechild of Lance Fuller (Brack from This Island Earth and Doctor Ted Erickson from The She-Creature.

Serena from L&O
Ahh, unquenchable SerenaHate. I cannot even begin to express my disdain for her. Worst casting decision. Ever. Please, Dick Wolf, I beg of you, don't renew Elisabeth Rohm's contract at the end of this season.

But at least Riley left.On Buffy, Kennedy was painful to watch, but at least she wasn't in as many episodes as Riley.
As much as I loathe Kennedy, though, most of my BtVS-character hate goes to Dawn. Yes, she did get a tad less annoying in the last season. Yes, she didn't even become a slayer. But...
Her very existence altered the fifteen years of characters' memories. She never developed a character, had absolutely nothing (positive) to add to the show and was a total waste of time. She shouldn't have kept existing after season 5. She. Is. Not. Real! Do you hear me, Joss? NOT. FUCKING. REAL!!! *stumbles away weeping*

Tes. Ti. Fy. My hatred of Dawn knows no bounds. I can't believe that Joss kept that shrieking, whiny, useless, unfunny bitch around... but killed off poor Anya for no reason. Dawn's alive but Anya's not, people! Why????? I have to go seethe in anger now.

I have never hated a character as much as Victor Newman. He's a self centered moron who only cares about himself.
Preach it! Testify!

And now, time for old school hate. Ann Marie from That Girl. The sight of her makes my skin cringe. She's nothing but a sorority chick living off of daddy's money. I hate how Marlo Thomas thinks that this show has anything to do with being a feminist, too. Mary Richards was the first real independent woman on television. Ann Marie was nothing but a predecessor for Rachael Green.
Edited: because I am not Irish so me cannot mean my.

You know, I thought I might like her better once they finally made her evil... but it was so craptacularily predictable (I mean, most of the fans over in the Alias forum saw it coming even before the season started!) that she just gets a resounding 'Meh, what-ever' from me. My my, Lauren turned out to be an evil sniper this past Sunday! Whoop-de-friggin-doo!... the character has all the charisma and usefulness of dirt. Not even that fancy dirt you pay money for. Just regular ground-dirt. She's the cast hot potato, and now it looks like she's being handed off to work with Sark, who is my favourite character but is unfortunately suffering through a bout of character assassination/neglect. Well, fuck that... it just ain't right.

But that's why I love Victor! Of course, the last time I saw Y&R was, like, a decade ago, so I'm not sure that counts...I have never hated a character as much as Victor Newman. He's a self centered moron who only cares about himself.

Heh. Didn't Marlo play Rachel's mom?Ann Marie was nothing but a predecessor for Rachael Green.
