I think Charlie and Sabrina kept costs down because he called in "favors". Doesn't he mention somewhere in there how he has some of his friends doing the stuff so it's cheaper. And, I think Charlie has some "friends" that might be pretty scary if he didn't get what he wanted if you get my drift.

They didn't show them getting deals on too many things (of the top of my head I can recall the video guy and photographer). It seems like C&B would have spent the money without the deals because they wanted a great wedding.

Maybe I'm alone, but was cracking up at all the "deals" because I didn't buy any of it. I think there are people who pull that total BS -- normally I'd charge $10,000, but because you're so awesome, and you know my second cousin Vinny's ex-wife's aunt, I'll give you a special goomba price of $5,000 -- and then idiots like Charlie think they're getting a great deal because he's a big man and totally connected, but he got the same price anyone would get.

I came to this forum to question why does MTV keep showing the same episodes when there are lots of them. And more update show would be appreciated too!

Exactly. I want my Slim-JG, damn it.

Hey, I want to see those babies healthy and happy, but Jenna's update made me roll my eyes:

No one knows the meaning of true love until they’ve had a part in creating a life and I’m so honored to have been chosen to do so…

Isn't it remarkable how uneducated teenagers having unprotected sex with losers like Jay get "chosen" and careful, responsible people don't? I guess the reason that birth control works for me and my friends is that we aren't among the selected few like Jenna! It's sad that Jenna thinks she has so little agency or control in her own life, and she doesn't even give herself credit for her own choices. Are we supposed to believe that Jay now knows the meaning of true love? Please.

Amen. Beyond that, I can't stand people who proclaim that only those who have procreated know the meaning of true love. Shut up, Jenna.

According to my TiVo, there are a few episodes coming up tonight:
I'm a Jersey Shore Girl at 7
I'm in a Long-Distance Relationship at 8
I'm at Fat Camp at 11:30
I'm a Southern Belle at 12:30
I'm on Adderall at 1:30
I'm Living a Double Life (I feel like that one is always on!) at 2:30

I'm going to record Fat Camp and Southern Belle. I haven't seen Fat Camp in a long time and I never saw Southern Belle.

I just saw the I'm a Jersey Shore Girl one today. I love True Life even at its most mundane, but I have to say, that was probably one of the worst episodes I have ever seen of any show. It was just two girls getting drunk and bitching endlessly about how their boyfriends didn't call them enough in stereotypical god awful Jersey accents. For an hour.

I really wish that MTV would re-run I'm an Urban Cheerleader so that I could store it on my dvr.

True, but at least I can sit through them -- I just turned off I'm a Southern Belle (which I had never seen before) less than ten minutes into the episode for the sake of my blood pressure.

That is one of my all time favorite episodes of True Life ever. My favorite parts are when they're at the camp and that psycho over tanned cheerleader is leading a group cheer and when that one girl has a temper tantrum when she can't do the flip.

I haven't seen that one is like 4 years!

Anyone know what's become of the "Staten Island" Girls, especially Angela (I think her last name was Falcicchio)? I wonder if she ever ended up with a good guy...that Anthony seemed to not share her interest, and here I am, years later, wondering if she ever got married, etc. I found her fascinating. Here she is, with a masters and studying for another, quite lovely looking, and very determined about what she expects from life, and as a mom, I found my motherly side pulling for her even though she was limiting herself to the fake baked and buffed commitment phobes. I wonder if she got what she was searching for. Internet searches get me to dead ends, and I thought I'd ask here, considering many of you seem great at unearthing the answers. ;) Does anyone know?

All of the girls are profiled on the "Where are they now?" episode that came ou,t I believe late 2007.

I cant really remember completely to be honest, but I believe that none of the girls achieved what the set out for the show.

The one who was looking for a husband in all the wrong places was still single.

The one who wanted out was still in.

And the one who wanted to be an actor, I believe didn't go anywhere career wise.

Sorry I couldn't help better. I'm sure someone who has it saved on TiVo can help you more with my blanks. :)

The "This Is Me Now" episode is available as a free download on iTunes, if you want to see the updates on the Staten Island girls.

To me, there are two kinds of True Life episodes--the ones dealing with actual issues (stuttering, supporting a family, living in the projects, peer pressure, being a little person, having a baby) and the "slice of life" episodes that seem to exist solely for us to mock people (Staten Island, Summer Share, Jersey Shore Girl, Long Distance Relationship, Southern Belle). I love the issue episodes, but the slice of life episodes are a great way to mix it up sometimes, too. It's almost like True Life is actually two series: one is serious, engaging, and the other is just trashy reality TV.

It looks like the producers are casting for an upcoming episode on leaving a religious faith--and they're hoping to find an ex-Scientologist. I hope they find someone willing to be profiled, because that would be truly fascinating.

Can't wait! This episode really sounds good. I know they're hoping to get an ex-Scientologist, but I wonder what faiths the other two people on the program will be leaving. I think MTV said they were looking for unusual or insular ones? There's a lot of potential in Jehovah's Witness, Mormon, Orthodox Jewish, or Amish/Mennonite faiths.

I'd be most interested in TL profiling an ex-Orthodox Jew. I've seen profiles done on ex members of the other churches you have named, but never an ex-Orthodox Jew.

If you're interested in reading about an Orthodox Jew leaving the fold, check out "Foreskin's Lament," by Shalom Auslander. Hilarious and really engaging.

Ex-Amish would be a great idea, too. I got a little taste of what it's like to leave the Amish from watching the documentary The Devil's Playground, and it seems like it's very rough for them in the outside world. It might be cool too if they have someone who was raised atheist and then became religious.

There's a ton of us on the boards here alone! I'll talk about it until I'm blue in the face but you'd never get family participation. Hello! MTV isn't even allowed at my parents' house!

Everytime I watch the Black Sheep episode, I feel worse and worse for poor Courtney! She seems like a normal teenage girl - she actually has a better temperment than I had as one - and her family was just so horrible. I would love to see what happens with her relationship with her mom and siblings after some seperation.

Whatever happened to the episode of True Life where the middle school girls were all going to a cheerleading competition and like one girl was totally throwing tantrums all the time and another girl did a cartwheel and damn near broke her neck?!?

Does anyone remember the episode I am talking about?? Did MTV throw it out of their vault? Because apparently, whenever there is a marathon, I never get to see this episode, and the "I Have a Fetish" episode where the people were dressed as animals and having sex in the costumes and such.

My Tivo picked up one I had never even heard of from a few years ago : "I'm Moving to Las Vegas", which was moderately interesting but mostly just annoying. I was particularly peeved by the gay Filipino kid who was not only living rent-free in a home owned by his family, he was also living off his mother's credit cards, sleeping all day, and making a constant loop through every gay bar in Vegas at night. His poor friend who moved there with him gave up and moved home after 6 weeks because his behaviour was so out of control, she couldn't find a decent job, and he gave her no help with anything beyond grudgingly driving her to a few job interviews. Ugh. What a waste. At least the girl had the smarts to pack it in and head home when the situation didn't shape up like she thought.

The third subject was a girl from a small town trying to break into acting and modeling - the only place she ended up finding work was at the Hooters casino, where she felt constantly out of place for having smallish natural boobs in a sea of giant globular boob jobs.

I'm watching the anger management one now (or well, it just finished) and wow. The guy is a total dick. I'd read about him on here a ways back but hadn't seen the episode. Wow.

Was he ever featured on a "where are they now?" episode?
