So in her mind she probably 'gets' that EJ has to go home with Sami, because he's the noble father trapped by his shrew wife.

Doesn't she realize he could break off his engagement if he really wanted to? I do sort of think of EJ and Sami as married because of their kids (you know, like Brad and Angelina), but if he wanted to make a clean break for Abigail it wouldn't be that hard. It'll be hard after he signs the papers though. But right now, he COULD  leave Sami and be with Abigail if he wants. Has this logically not struck her yet?

I think another issue I have with Abigail is that she attended Sami and EJ's engagement party with Chad, so she can't pretend not to know that it would take a certain combination of circumstances to push him towards straying. He's not always been completely faithful in his relationships, but he's not really as big of a womanizer as JFK  was either. Although I suppose if he had those kinds of extreme womanizing tendencies a la Arnold Schwarzenegger, I would probably think she was even dumber for assuming he liked her beyond sex. No matter which formula I try to work out, I don't get how Abigail could stand there in the shower in the cold freezing losing her dignity like that...and for what? EJ's body is nice, but the aftermath was a bit embarrassing to watch. Right now, Sami isn't the only one being made to look stupid by EJ.

Why would Sami and EJ be together for the children?  It's not like they've been married for years raising their children together.  Most of the time, they've been married to other people, and at war with each other.

I just want Sami to find out so AS's last months on the show can be spent with characters like Lucas, Kate, Roman, Eric, etc.

EJ's cheating doesn't seem in character either because in the past EJ went without sex for months if he thought he had any chance at all with Sami.  I still would have found it much more believable if EJ had told Sami he couldn't do this anymore, they were over, and she needed to move out of the Dimera Mansion.

I never liked Lucas yelling at Sami all the time, or Rafe constantly lecturing and judging Sami, but despite that, Sami was clearly happier when she was with Rafe or Lucas.  If Chad hadn't blown up Nick/Gabi's first wedding, Sami would have gotten back together with Rafe, and she would have been better off.

It would be hilarious if Sami leaves EJ, falls in love with another man, and EJ is left dealing with a psycho stalker.

Why would Sami and EJ be together for the children?

Sorry, I didn't mean that they were together because of their kids. I mean that the kids made me think of them as being married. I think of Brad and Angelina as being married because they're living together with their children as a family unit. No papers are signed yet, but somehow when kids are involved it makes me think of the relationship in a different way.  Usually when I see couples with kids, I think of them  as either being married (well, until one or the other does something stupid like what EJ is doing) or, like, common-law. Sometimes I can forget that EJ and Sami are simply engaged, but when I do remember, I keep wondering why it hasn't struck Abigail that EJ could easily leave Sami especially since their relationship is what you've described in the following:

It's not like they've been married for years raising their children together.  Most of the time, they've been married to other people, and at war with each other.

I'm not a big Sami fan, but I would enjoy this too.  For all his fancy talking ways, EJ does not treat his ladies well.  It would serve him right to have one make his life a living hell.  I still like the idea of him being forced somehow to marry Abigail and then she turns out to be even crazier than Kristen.

He even resisted sex with Sami herself last year when he felt the time wasn't right. He was on top of her and then he stopped because he didn't think it was for "the right reasons." He could have done it right then and there and gotten his way.  I know he has a bad history in general and a bad history with Sami too, but there are other times when his history does show him capable of exercising self-control.

She can blackmail him into marriage. He seems to like those types of situations though so maybe that wouldn't be punishment.

When Sami was living in the Dimera Mansion in 2010, EJ and Sami weren't a couple, EJ kept asking Sami to marry him, Sami kept telling EJ she was still in love with Rafe, EJ didn't care, and he went without sex for over a year.

I think this is one of the things I really dislike about the SL.  EJ is not making sense to me.  It's not like I expect EJ to be a good guy.  I've always enjoyed EJ because he isn't a good guy.  However, in this SL, EJ is OOC.

I wish when Sami does finally find out, she simply leaves EJ, and doesn't waste any time trying to get even.  It would be great for Sami to realize EJ will screw up his own life, and she needs to concentrate on getting hers in order.

I think EJ likes his women a little strange. So I don't think a psycho woman would have the same effect on him as it would on someone more normal.

But if EJ had to listen to Abigail go on and on about what her mom thinks, I could see him knocking back several vodkas every night! If he continues with this trend, he'll have to join Brady in rehab and Lucas will have to be his sponsor.

This is more than EJ just not getting some for awhile, the entire sex started because he was trying to save Sami from murder. Now it's morphed into writing of Abigail being everything Sami isn't, yes she has sex with him, she also tells off her family for him, which I think EJ enjoyed. He's liking having that connection with someone who is willing to fight with him instead of just fight him.

I just think Abigail should realize that EJ could break up with Sami if he really wanted to. But since he isn't doing that and she's not questioning why despite the fact that she told him that she thinks he wants her as much as she wants him, her light-bulb moment -- while she was standing there freezing in the shower waiting for Sami and EJ to finish talking -- as to why he was having sex with her struck me as a bit on the dim-bulb side.

EJ is making both women look stupid, not just one. But whereas Sami and Nicole and Taylor called him on it  a bit, I think Abigail will let her need for EJ`s delivery of sex override whatever little dignity she has left.

And I still keep coming back to the question of why are Sami and EJ still engaged?  Sami is miserable most of the time, mad at EJ, and doesn't want to marry him.  If EJ isn't getting anything he wants from Sami, isn't happy, and has already decided to move on, why don't they end it?

I actually think cheating is somewhat in character for EJ given that he has done it before, albeit just to Nicole and not to Sami. Maybe it's because a significant chunk of EJ and Sami's relationship was simply EJ pursuing her. Now that he "has" her, it's a different story.

Abby told off one family member about EJ, Sami has been trying to persuade here entire family to get on board with EJ for years. Hell Mar-Mar came to their engagement party and chatted with Stefano. I don't know what people expect Sami to do. Off course Abby is going to be better, JJ was not drugged and raped by Kristen, and even excluding that, she has not gone through half of the stuff with EJ that Sami has gone through to make a fair comparison. EJ should just get a blow-up doll, if he wants a Stepford Wife that will never disagree with him. Where is the spark? Like I said in my earlier post, all we got today was porn.

Sami has defended Ej to her family from time to time in the past.. and in a much much stronger than Abby..Even her family as well as Lucas and Rafe were mad at her about it.. She even saved his life for pete's sake and several times.

That may be it.  Now that he has what he has wanted for years, EJ no longer wants it.  However, it kind of ruins EJ a little for me.  I would have preferred Sami and EJ break up over their disagreement about Kristen/Eric not because of something EJ himself did.

Also, if EJ is tired of Sami, over her, whatever, why not just end it?  Why cheat?

Probably because he doesn`t want Abigail THAT badly either.

He`s probably flattered by Abigail, but I don`t know if his feelings for her are that deep, judging by the way he coldly handed the towel back to her. That was odd to me. Sex with Abigail makes him happy. But actually having to talk to her doesn't seem to do anything for him. Maybe in time he`ll grow to love her, but right now I think he treats her a little weird when they`re not actually doing it.

Sami last week was telling EJ to answer her dad's questions at the hospital. She was quick to side with her father thinking EJ had info on what happened to Eric. Compared to what they're showing recently, Abigail taking EJ's side against Adrienne is showing presently Abigail stronger on EJ's side than his so-called fiancee.

EJ does have info on what Kristen did to Eric.  Sami knows that, and that's why she doesn't trust him.  However, I'm going in circles here because this is just another reason Sami or EJ or both of them should have ended things already.  I think it would have been really great to have Sami and EJ break up again, but for EJ to finally realize he is NEVER going to have what he really wants with Sami.  Sami at one time seemed to know she had a better chance at making a relationship work with Rafe or Lucas.  She needs to remember that.  However, I don't want Sami to go running back to Rafe or Lucas.  I want her to realize where she screwed up, and get her life in order.

Then Sami should just pull the plug on this whole thing. EJ is a little bit twisted, but the Sami of old always wanted her happy ending. Without trust there is no foundation for a lasting relationship. She should know, because her earlier relationships were undermined by her lies. It's funny that the tables have turned, but she still thinks that it's acceptable to be in a relationship that operates like this.

Good point.  Maybe this is where the 50 Shades of Gray thing comes into play.  EJ gets off on situations that would sound like torture to the rest of us.  Wait till he has to start having dinner at his mother-in-law's house.

Ugh, I hate the type of overly-contrived predicament as the EJ/Abby/Sami stuff was yesterday and today. Sure, Sami just has to give EJ this news about the deal in person? And she needed someone to point her to EJ's private changing room, even though Abby got in there without being seen? And then, of course, the door magically locked itself and Sami was able to get a guy to fumble through his keys to unlock it? Does no one at this corporate gym care about the man's privacy (fiancee or otherwise, I'd be annoyed if someone came and unlocked my private room). And Sami could hear the shower running, but no other sounds? I have to admit, I was hoping that Sami would figure out what was going on and then file that away for later. But, it's probably too early in the affair for that to happen.

Not that this is a more original idea, but I would have loved a fake-out of Sami being let into the wrong room. Even better if she'd walked in on another couple having sex in the shower, and then gushed about the entire thing later on to EJ. As it was, I agree that the writing was funny, if clunky and kind of cringeworthy. Did Sami really say she "wanted [EJ's] John Hancock?" I also laughed when Sami said she was going to dump out every item in her purse to find that pen, and the cut to Abby freezing in the shower.

One thing I noticed about the shower was that it's pretty much a condom-free zone. Unless EJ hides them behind his ears or in his hair. Safe sex is considered unsexy for daytime, but I wouldn't be surprised if Abby had a hysterical pregnancy (at the very least) and traced it back to this (seeing as they seem to have gone all the way and this looks like the last time)
I have a question. In any prior shower scene, was the audience shown the lower half of the characters in the scene? That's what really gave these scenes a porn-feel to me.Ugh.

The thing with the other affairs is that EJ loved those other women in some capacity.  Those kinds of affairs, while not necessarily moral, are less uncomfortable to watch. He loved Taylor and her scarf, and EJ and Sami have their own strange brand of connection even when they're not with each other (and I don't think we were meant to enjoy the one-time grief sex since they were fully clothed and looked depressed in the grief they were trying to forget). The cheating was based on either affection for the woman or history with that woman while under severe crisis.

But with Abigail, the affair feels awkward like one of those weird Anthony Weiner or Arnold Schwarzenegger type affairs. Maybe the graphicness of the sex scenes (which look sort of real in a clinical sense) vs how he sometimes looks agitated afterwards isn't really helping either. EJ looks happy during the sex, but afterwards when he has to calm Abigail down he seems like he's trying to do damage control like a politician. (And that poufy hair does kind of make him look like one).

I'm not entirely sure we didn't have coitus interruptus again today. It went over my head when I watched, but a friend pointed out that after Sami came in the room, EJ turned off the hot water and let the cold water run, presumably to eliminate any tell tale signs of what was going on before he got out of the shower.

There was sexy sex today, I'll give the show that, but there was no emotion and it really wasn't even that hot. The EJ/Sami scenes were a muddle. Sami basically recited all the reasons why EJ might have welcomed Abs into the shower. And the rest of the show was ÜBER boring. I almost dozed off during the cabin scenes with Daniel/Nicole/Dr. C. Then we had the JJ/Teresa idiocy. Followed by Eric and Father Whoever. It didn't feel like a sweeps episode.
