Not that I particuarly want to see this, but Jim Verraros is going to be a "celebrity" correspondent on Ryan Seacrest's show on Wednesday. So the guests are him and Britney Spears. Perfect matchup. Neither can sing.

Taxos provided the thread title.

How sad am I? I've actually structured my day in order to watch Ryan Seacrest's stupid show just so I can see Jim. (Eeeeee!) Jim!

Almost as sad as me structuring my day so that I will not see Ryan Seacrest so that I won't see Jim.

Jim, it helps us to hear the people you are interviewing if you SHARE the mic with them.

How sad that if Jim was in group 2 this year - he would have made the finals

No sadder than the fact that he made the finals in season 1. :)

I can't believe I sat through Ryan Seacrest's horrible show for a full hour yesterday just for maybe a one minute segment featuring Jim, who was clearly uncomfortable and had to "interview" two "random" audience members who were obviously reading pre-printed questions. Poor guy. I'd still marry him in a second if he asked.

ETA: This is new to me.

It's not like I really needed a new reason to hate Ryan Seacrest's guts, but his stupid little jab at Jim on Wednesday's results show seemed so unnecessary.

Jim's movie Eating Out is apparently out and getting positive reviews.

While searching Google, I came across this interview. What stood out? Are you a fan of Nikki's?
Jim: Yeah, very much....we get along so very well.

Dude? That song is the most weird shit I have ever heard. I don't wanna hear him grabbing anyone's stick shift, however.

And yet? It is bizarely catchy. Should I blame post-production or did he get less boring vocally?

are there other singers who's lyrics are so explicitly about gay sex? It's kinda funny. They say that you should write what you know, though. Guess that means Jimmy's a slut. Hope he's being safe at least.

and the "move" song rips directly from that no doubt song with the B/W video.

Having not watched AI1, downloading "Ride Rough" yesterday gave me my first taste of Jimmy here. And... wow, it was bad.

Heh. That's exactly what I thought when listening to "Ride Rough," which was the first time ever that I'd heard Jim's voice. I only watched 2 episodes of the first season and neither had Jim (I think one was the wildcard episode with Randy and Simon's "fight" and the other was when Ryan got the boot).

Don't really care for Jim or any of the other AI1 finalists, having only watched two. I do have Kelly's album tho, but only bought it last September.

Um, I have to admit I've downloaded more than the one song. Maybe I just have really bad taste in music, but I don't think he's that bad.

*ducks and runs for cover*

Not saying I'd buy his album, however. And having never seen him during Season 1, I had no idea the guy was such a tool until reading the interviews you guys have linked to here. This guy calls himself a role model? Please. Shouldn't a role model, you know, be somebody who doesn't walk around bad-mouthing the other finalists? I'd think being two-faced and a famewhore would be two qualities a role model should not possess. But, whatever.

I thought he was cute before, but now? Seriously, Jim. Shut. Up.

So I'm reading my copy of Newsday and there's an article in the entertainment section about American Idol and all it's "controversies" this season.
In a little inset they have a column about notable past contestants and here is what they say about Jim:

The bane of Simon Cowell's existance for winning over the American public by signing to his deaf parents, he's become a gay icon of sorts, playing festivals and releasing music independently through his website.

Gay icon. Gay icon?!? Gay. Icon.

Geez, what passes for a gay icon today? Apparently all you need to be is a just about forgotten famewhore with little discernable talent and/or popularity and VOILA: Gay Icon!

Whatever.

Gay icon? Dude, what an insult to homosexuals. You could say that there aren't too many positive portrayals of gays in the mainstream media, but Jim is the bottom of the friggin' barrel.

He's probably a "gay icon" the same way that Jasmine Trias is an "Hawaii icon".

From Jim's official site.

Jim has just signed a record deal with Koch Records. Jim is putting the finishing touches on the album, and the first single is due out later this year. Jim's been hard at work writing and recording music in Los Angeles with singer/songwriter Gabe Lopez, who is also producing the material. Fellow AI Finalist Angela Peel has co-written four of the album's songs.

So now Koch Records has signed two American Idol contestants -- Jim Verraros, and William Hung. YMMV who is the better singer.
