I just saw "Cheaper by the Dozen"... I liked it, it was cute. TW was good, but his character was very much like Clark, sans the powers and the Lana angst (Thank God!). But to me, the movie was all about Steve Martin and that cute little boy with the glasses and the red hair... That's really what did for me, not that a TW fix is anything to complain about!

I just watched Love! Valour! Compassion! for the first time in ages and I have to say how impressive John Glover is. He does a fine British accent while playing twins, one with a good soul and one with a bad. He's so good he even managed to convine me that he was attracted to Jason Alexander.
The movie also features a scorching kiss between Justin Kirk (of Angels in America) and a hot Latino dancer that the Smallville production team should copy for the Clex as soon as possible.

A friend of mine lent me this DVD called
The Greatest '70s Cop Shows (containing the series premieres of shows like
Charlie's Angels and
The Rookies). While I was watching the very first episode of
S.W.A.T., whom should I see but a 21-year-old Annette O'Toole!
I made a couple of screencaps if anyone's curious:
Annette 1,
Annette 2.

Patrick Cassidy (Lana's dad) was in an episode of CHARMED last night, which will be replayed on TNT either this Tuesday at 9 pm or next. As it turns out, he's the Charmed Ones' grandfather. (It was a time travel ep.) So, the guy gets around. But, if you feel the urge to watch, be prepared. He plays a peace loving hippie flower child, complete with the clothes, the hair, and the "hippie speech". (Calling Paige's boyfriend her "old man". Calling the police "the pigs".)
And, yes, he was also on an episode of the NANNY. (And why do I feel like I have to defend myself for watching that show.) He played a New York hairdresser complete with the Barbarino accent, tight t-shirt, and painted on jeans that are just begging for you to grab...something, no matter which side of him is facing you.
And that's enough of that.

I gotta say... I loved Cheaper by the Dozen and not just because of Tom. Steve Martin is one funny dude. I can't wait for the DVD.
Also, I was so jealous of Bonnie Hunt at the end, when they showed the outtake of Tom kissing her. *Sigh To be Bonnie Hunt

I just caught the movie "The Chocolate War" on The Movie Channel, a 1988 film with John Glover playing a power-hungry Catholic school teacher, basically Brother Lionel. He has top billing, but the student actors get more screen time. Well worth checking out.
Tom Welling, a.k.a. Clark, was being interviewed for Cheaper by the Dozen
and he was asked what it was like working with such a young cast. He said something like, "I love working with kids - it's the grownups who scare me." Hee.

I had a free pass, so I went to see Cheaper by the Dozen yesterday afternoon.
The original, for what it's worth, was better, but this wasn't bad for a bit of mindless afternoon fun. I actually laughed out loud in several places...almost none of them involving Ashton Kutcher, though. That boy really gets on my nerves. Why he's so popular is anyone's guess.
But I digress...
Of course, there were many moments that stretched credibility, even for a comedy, but the most egregious one was when the two older children, played by Tom Welling and Hilary Duff, go to a new high school in Chicago and have trouble fitting in and making friends. I'm sorry, but in the shallow, turbulent waters of a suburban high school, two teenagers who looked like Tom Welling and Hilary Duff wouldn't have any trouble making a few friends. They'd probably both have dates before the first day was over. :-)
Anyhoo, as a Smallville fan, I had to do my part for pretty Tom. And I must say, Tom may not be the handsomest young actor to ever appear on the silver screen, but he'll do until that guy shows up. I mean, I'm a devotee of Sexy Lexy all the way, but Tom is a pretty tasty bit of manflesh, if I do say so myself...especially when he's half-naked in a lockerroom. And the outtake at the end--where Tom takes Bonnie Hunt in his arms, bends her back, and kisses her--is hilarious.

Krista Allen was a FOTW in MutantX (Scorpion Lady) and her role in it was so freakingly similar to her role in SV. She's able to secrete pheromones to make men do whatever she wanted them to. But instead of getting them to kill her husbands, she got them to steal stuff.

Last night I saw the episode of Justice League where Flash (MR) acquires his swingin' customized Flash Van O' Love...(:D
The "Lightspeed Energy Bar!" commercial was pretty funny, too.
Odd that Flash the chick hound never once mentions using the van to entertain the Ladies... Network Standards and Practices, I suppose. Instead, he invites Green Lantern inside and suggests a road trip across America. That's why they were playing that Bow-Chikka-Bow-Wow music in the background, right? ;)

I watched Justice League myself last night. I've been catching them the last few weeks and I gotta say, the Flash is the highlight of the whole show. Last night's ep with the rockin' shaggin' wagon was a hoot. It's interesting to listen to the difference in MR's voice as the Flash. I'll bet he is just that ornery in RL. Too funny.

Yup, Flash is the main reason to watch Justice League. Without the comic relief and grounding that he provides, they'd all be a bunch of humorless, super-powered tight-asses with serious abandonment issues and bad taste in decorating.
Instead, he invites Green Lantern inside and suggests a road trip across America. That's why they were playing that Bow-Chikka-Bow-Wow music in the background, right? ;)
I never picked up on the GL/Flash vibe, until someone rubbed my nose in it, and now I can't get through an ep without it slapping me in the face. Not that I mind. :-)

Ian Somerhalder's in The Rules of Attraction as someone who inexplicably has the hots for James VanDer Beek's character. While IS's making out with the Forhead was squicky, his bouncing aound on a bed in his drawers to Gearge Michael's "Faith" definitely makes up for it, IMO.

Cynthia Ettinger was on the rerun of L&O:SVU last night and can I say how glad I am that Annette O'Toole replaced her as Mama Kent? CE wasn't horrible, I guess, but she wasn't that good either.
