Holy crap, Raphael Sbarge was the voice of Carth Onasi in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic? I loved that game. And damn, this guy really has been in a ton of stuff. He must love where he is in life as an actor -- getting tons of different roles, steady work, lots of money while not being a paparazzi target.
And I can't help but to refer to Assad on 24 as nothing other than Dr. Bashir.

I keep doing that also and it's making me very depressed about the number of people who don't understand the reference. Everyone should know who Bashir is.

Jack Bauer should offer Bashir a deal, renounce terrorism and he gets
Kukalaka back.
Sorry I couldn't resist.....
More DS9 actors should be on! Maybe Avery Brooks as the third Palmer brother.

I didn't realize that James Cromwell was Prince Philip in The Queen. Now I really have to see it. Luckily, awards=more screens.
Interestingly, IMDb says that Gallagher is Catherine Hick's sister-in-law. Wikipedia implies that she was married to Sorkin, but that can't be right.

Avery Brooks at the third Palmer brother would make me so very, very happy.
I did have a weird moment when I thought, "My goodness, I'm quite sure I never expected Dr. Bashir to stab someone in the knee." But he looks amazing- at least in the close-ups. In long shots I can't help but laugh at his skinny, skinny legs.

Wow, Sbarge has been in a LOT of "Star Wars" games, hasn't he? Dack Balter in "Rogue Squadron", Carth as previously mentioned (and Carth even gets a couple of short bits in KOTOR II, depending on whether you're male or female, and light or dark side), even one of the grunts in "Republic Commando"!
And I have to confess, Carth Onasi is one of only two characters in KOTOR whose voiceovers I actually listen to (I would harm small animals if it would give me a voice like that). (The other character, of course, is Jolee Bindo, and that's mostly for the quality snark involved. "Sometimes swirling Force is just swirling Force. It gets old Jedis all excited at our age so we start going, 'Oooh, destiny!'")

Connor Trinneer has returned to Stargate: Atlantis as Michael. The episode Vengeance just aired in Canada. Connor is great in this role and the character has now become a fully evil genetic scientist. Yet, you still feel a great deal of sympathy for him. Only, Connor's impressive acting could cause that. He seems to really enjoy playing this role and he is incredibly good at creeping you out and charming you, so that you want more. He also manages to bring a frightening amount of Hoyay when acting with Joe Flanigan. It's bad, but fun.
Peachy, if you won't disembark the Iron Maiden for Connor's acting, then, I suspect, nothing will get you to leave your luxury suite.

Thanks for the warning, Jake, but I only board the Iron Maiden for shows I look forward to enjoying. Thus I have no fear of spoilers in Atlantis' waters. Also, Yay! I look forward to that event in the future. (stupid america, behind in all the good scifi tv.)

Thanks for posting that, Warden. She only had one line and was in shadow but I knew I recognized her from somewhere. I was very happy that Bashir made it to DC so quickly. I'd missed him. Although I wish he'd stayed in LA with Jack. Wayne isn't as good for scene sharing.

I just read that Kate Mulgrew will be recurring on that new show after Heroes, The Black Donnelleys. The show's about four brothers, and she's playing their mother. Sounds like a pretty important role.

I found myself kind of intrigued at first, but then I realized I just like the song they're playing in the ads. So I figure I'll spend some time with Google and then iTunes and save myself the actual watching. Besides, after Heroes (which is full of Trek references and the occasional Trek actor), I need to rewind my tape and see what Dr. Bashir is doing this week on 24, so I'm not exactly starving for a Trek-casting show in that timeslot.

To be fair, I caught the pilot earlier this year and it wasn't bad. I think it's being a little overhyped, but I thought it was compelling and well-written. Here's hoping they make good use of Kate's talent.

She's in the show, and plays a uniform cop in the squad/precinct Raines is based at. From what I saw of Raines, Jeff Goldblum is in nearly every scene, and even the regulars may as well be guest stars. Nothing against the show, I'd just not get too excited if you're a fan of anybody else on the program.

Catching up on my TiVoed Medium last night and to my surprise, the victim of the week was our handsome block of wood, Robert Beltran. He was playing a priest and he had hair and beard that were almost completely gray! I couldn't figure out if he really grayed that much or if they were trying to make him look older to fit with the D.A., whose friend he was supposed to be.

I was watching TV at the gym today and they had Charmed on. I'm not a regular watcher, so I couldn't explain the storyline (plus the sound was off), but the episode had John de Lancie playing "Odin" (according to imdb.com), some guy in a white robe with magic powers -- very Q-esque.

Ana, he regularly showed up during that season playing one of the
Ever Useless Elders (TM
Demian). Elizabeth Dennehy (Cmdr. Shelby) had a recurring role as "Sandra", another one of the
Ever Useless Elders.

May 24, 2007 @ 4:09 pm
I happened to catch a few moments of an episode of Charmed a few days ago. I was surprised that Odin was actually referred to by name during the ep. And disappointed that he had no relation to the Norse Odin. (It's after The Dolt (kisses, Demian!) killed WhatsHisName the Stupid Magic School Headmaster, and was dealing with the flying head of DOOM. And the Witches were turning into man-eating (excuse me, White Lighter-eating) hellhounds during their menstrual cycle. It also stars the lovely TJ Thyne from Fox's "Bones".)

This is an "if only" role...I came across this looking for pixel challenge images. Wil Wheaton on
Galaxy Quest:
I loved Galaxy Quest. I thought it was brilliant satire, not only of Trek, but of fandom in general. The only thing I wish they had done was cast me in it, and have me play a freaky fanboy who keeps screaming at the actor who played "the kid" about how awful it was that there was a kid on the spaceship. Alas.
I would have loved that.

I thought I heard rumors at one point that Tim Allen wanted to do a sequel to Galaxy Quest. (This would have been around the time of his lame superhero movie Zoom.) So there's still a possibility for this to happen.

Saw a trailer for a new movie with Adam Sandler and Kevin James (who pretend to be a gay couple for pension purposes, which I didn't understand) and who should show up but Matt Wintson, aka Shut up, Daniels. I could not restrain myself from hissing his alias at the screen.
Also, hubby was working on a video type thing for his regional office (of a Japanese car company) for their annual dealer meeting. Anyway, one of the videos that was provided by one of the brands (of which there are three) was narrated by Anthony Montgomery. Well, he's not credited in any sense, so we're not one hundred percent certain, but it's him. It sounds exactly like him.

Everytime I think "From the Future" I find myself gritting my teeth and hissing "Shut up, Daniels!" even though he has absolutely nothing to do with the book at all. The hatred runs deep! Poor Winston.
