That must be why he's not on Prison Break anymore. He's been replaced in that part by another HITG! who's name escapes me at the moment.
cutecouple
Interesting point: Stuff Shatner's done recently. Is this truly excessive?
Gilmel
Tim Russ made an appearance on that Twenty Years show with Jeffrey Tambour and John Lithgow tonight. He told Lithgow's character that he had to retire.
belsum
I believe that was Mr. Homm on this week's My Name is Earl.

Mr. b is going through a BeeGee's phase and we're currently watching Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. And Carel Struycken, of all people, is in it. I suppose the fact that I had to post that very important information immediately should really go in the YKYPASTTW thread....
Peachy Keen
Randy Oglesby (Degra, S3 ENT) was on Studio 60 last night as Tom's father.
frenchtoast
Ooh, that reminds me, PK, I saw Matt Winston in some Wal-Mart commercials. I was actually able to refrain from saying, "Shut up, Daniels." I think it's because I was spewing that and other choice words about Wal-Mart.
Peachy Keen
I may be hallucinting, but I thought I saw him advertised in a mid-season show? Maybe there'll be more opportunities to shout "Shut Up, Daniels" in the future! (Somehow that became its own joke, didn't it?)
RealChic1999
Was the creator of "Becker" a Trek fan? Terry Farrell (Dax) was a regular...while Nimoy (Spock, of course), LeVar Burton (Geordi LaForge) and Kim Darby (title character of TOS episode "Miri") guest-starred.
Anabanana
Not that I'm watching Walker, Texas Ranger, but Daniel Dae Kim just showed up as a bad guy on the episode that's on right now.

ETA: *with* Erik Estrada, also a bad guy. No, I'm not watching, it happens to be on while I'm checking my email!
cutecouple
More on Shatner's new game show, plus a new TWoP thread for this disaster in the making.
Canadian Tyler
Has anyone seen Patrick Stewart in Eleventh Hour? It starts next month in Canada. Looks pretty good.
Isaboe
Susanna Thompson is going to be on NCIS this Tuesday, Nov. 7th. She plays Lt. Col. Hollis Mann, an Army investigator and possible love interest for Gibbs.

John Billingsley was in A Cinderella Story (shut up--Mr. b was gone and it was on ABC Family last night). I don't think he had any lines though, just some pratfalls. It was rather odd. Nothing like the Nagus in Clueless. It was kind of irrelevant who was cast. But the movie was from 2004, in the middle of the Enterprise run, so it's not like he was a complete unknown or anything. I thought it was weird.

I'm also still not used to his normal look. I know Phlox was barely made up--but he was just so alien. So seeing Billingsley look very close to that in real life throws me off every time. Like during the ads for his new show.
Peachy Keen
belsum, I watched A Cinderella Story too! Of course, I can't argue that my S.O. was away; I can only tell you I snickered through the story as I remembered a title thread somewhere around TWOP that claims it's 'helping The Chad find wives.' And then picturing the brou-haha that must have erupted when he tried to put the moves on a Duff or two. I was pleasantly surprised to see Billingsley and also sad when he did next to nothing. He's got great comic timing; they should have used that.

Saw the trailer for The Nativity Sotry on Apple today, and I totally got all "squee" when I recognized the voice of the Angel Gabriel -- Alexander Siddig!

Which leaves me to wonder: if I find an Archangel's voice all sexy, am I going to hell?
Alejandra
Oh, don't worry, it's actually in the Bible that angels are sexy.
nelamm
This may betray my pop-culture ignorance, but all I knew about Courtney Peldon was that she and her sister are frequent objects of ridicule on Go Fug Yourself. Now I've just discovered she played the "first officer" in Valiant. Fascinating.
Harrison Fjord
Oh, don't worry, it's actually in the Bible that angels are sexy.

Maybe, but it's also in the Bible that Soddom and Gomorrah were burned to a crisp because the men there wanted to have sex with the angels.

Of course, that doesn't stop me from thinking that Tilda Swinton's Gabriel in Constantine was enticing in his/her's evilness.

True, but if the Bible doesn't convince you, then perhaps the many "documented" cases of angel encounters during which people expressed orgasmic experiences will. HMMMMM? Just what do you have to say to that;-)
pennyq

They wanted to rape the angels. I don't really think they were looking for willingness.

If the voice was Alexander Siddig's? I'm sure you'd be forgiven. Besides, isn't evil supposed to be sexy and alluring? Otherwise it wouldn't be tempting and people wouldn't ever do it. (Archangels are supposed to be evil, right? I'm not really well versed on the subject.)
nqllisi
Nope, Archangels are the good ones. The captains of the Angel army, so to speak.
pennyq
Shows what I know. OK then, I got nothing. Captains of the army, huh? Well, that should be sexy too.

The kid that played Jake Sisko was a suspect on CSI-Miami the other night! Boy, he grew up well. ;P
Peachy Keen
Matt Winston (Shut Up, Daniels!) had a guest role on Grey's Anatomy last night playing a guy named Frank who needs pec implants to keep his girl. Surprisingly he did not piss me off.

I wish Bakula would do something to remind me that he's not the incarnation of evil and stupidity.
cutecouple
George Takei to guest star on Heroes (show spoilers within). Reason number two to keep watching.

It amused me that he was sporting the "Bald and Dangerous Sisko" look.

Faith Salie, who played Sarina (genetically engineered love interest of Bashir) in DS9's "Statistical Probabilities" and "Chrysalis," has a radio show on one of the DC NPR stations. It's called Fair Game with Faith Salie. It airs opposite the Daily Show/Colbert Report hour or power, so I haven't tuned in. Maybe the next time they're in repeats. It seems to be a similar program, except without the moving pictures.

So I'm watching Wings this morning, and Lowell is talking to some lawyer whose voice sounds awfully familiar. I keep listening, an lo and behold, it's Garak. He looks a lot different without the spoon on his head.

Saw David Ogden Stiers (ST:TNG Half A Life - Timicin) and Ruth Williamson (ST:ENT Zero Hour - Sphere-Builder Primary) in a touring version of the Broadway musical Irving Berlin's White Christmas. I sorta expected Stiers to sing more than he did - he sang in the encore - but he played the general.
Harrison Fjord
Man. What do you do with a general when he can't be bothered to sing in a musical based on a movie in which the general never sings?

Do they add a lot of "standard" musical moments (character singing at random), or do the added songs tend to be kept within the confines of entertainers doing a show? There were a couple of standard moments in the movie, I know, but most of the songs fell into the latter.

My wife wants to go see that, but I don't think it's going to happen. A shame, I suppose, but since I really can't see anyone but Bing and Danny doing "Sisters" in half-drag...
cutecouple
I don't know the movie very well, but they do have a lot of standard musical moments as you put it. Also there's a lot of dance. I'm guessing it's a little different than the movie, to accommodate story and music changes. And there are two touring companies out there right now - one in the Twin Cities, and one in Detroit - with separate casts. David Ogden Stiers is in the Twin Cities.

I imagine that it's really hard to not compare this the movie.

Connor Trinneer and Marina Sirtis are going to be on Without a Trace tonight.
Harrison Fjord
That sounds at once fascinating and absolutely horrific given what happened the last time they shared an hour of television.
RealChic1999
A very young Terry Farrell appeared on a first season episode of "The Cosby Show" as the young woman Cliff and Clair's friend was dating. She looked really different...light brown hair with a blondish highlight to it and her face was fuller. All she did was smile and laugh though.
SnippyScholar
Looks like Eleventh Hour starts tonight on BBC America. Here's their blurb:

Enter Professor Ian Hood (Patrick Stewart, X-Men, Star Trek), a former physics professor recruited by the government to troubleshoot the human disasters and potential tragedies caused by modern science. Hood's acute powers of perception and incredible thirst for knowledge make him a unique weapon in the fight for good science.

Yay!

Connor Trinneer and Marina Sirtis are going to be on Without a Trace tonight.

Squee! I miss Connor! I'll have to resist watching that tonight (TiVoed). I'm supposed to be studying for the SCUBA certification course I'm taking next weekend. :P
pennyq
TiVo was kind enough to decide to record it for me, but unfortunately since the football game ran 1/2 hour over before 60 minutes, it only recorded half of it. Oh well. Had I checked this thread earlier, I would have had it record longer myself. But at least I got to see Connor.
Isaboe
Isaw bits of it. WTH happened to Marina? Girls looking rough.
SnippyScholar
Anybody see Eleventh Hour? It was very good; a keeper. Dark tone and cinematography like the Touching Evil series. Stewart plays a Dedicated Civil Servant and Smart Guy, without any particular quirks. His co-star was the blonde woman from Extras. The first story was taken from a real-life disaster in the 70s, and was very well done--scary, creepy, and suspenseful.
belsum
I don't get BBCAmerica so I have it in my Netflix queue. I'm glad for the good review, Snippy. Now I just have to wait for Extras to finally be available....
RealChic1999

She (along with Wil Wheaton, George Takei and Shatner) appeared on "100 Greatest TV Catchphrases" Monday night for "Resistance is futile." (Not really another role though.) I know she's British and have heard her speak with a British accent...but she sounded oddly Australian there. Don't know what's going on.
jayseyfield
Don't like the show but it was really nice to see Alexander Siddig (Dr. Julian Bashir) on 24 yesterday.
Gilmel
I was glad to see he wasn't a bad guy. I've seen him play in several roles the past few years (on Mi:5/Spooks, in Kingdom of Heaven, in Syriana) and he's always a good guy, which is hard to do these days when playing Arab roles, I think.
belsum
Well, a good guy who's a torturing terrorist. ;-) But really, I was mostly distracted by the hotness--hooboy, scowls and a graying beard look good on that man!

Another Trek alum will join later this season: James Cromwell is playing Dad Bauer.
Holly_L
I wonder how people who don't know Alexander Siddig from Trek react to him as a terrorist, albeit one who has renounced terrorism. Is the audience supposed to not trust and dislike him, in the same sort of way as Curtis? I can only see him as Julian, so his supposed terrorist past in the show doesn't really influence me.
akg
I was glad to see he wasn't a bad guy.

Me too. I've been dreading that since I heard he was going to be on. He's doesn't have the whitest hat but he's a pretty interesting character and the hotness will keep me distracted from any torture.

Another trek connection: the mom of the random suburban family was in DS9's Little Green Men. That whole family seems familiar but I couldn't place any of them. She's the only one listed on imdb so far and I was very happy to know why I knew her.
belsum
Thank you akg! I knew I knew that family! One down, three to go. I was guessing Holes for the son. It doesn't look like IMDb has the episode cast updated yet so I'll have to be patient.
akg
Please let me know if you id anyone else. The terrorist son was on White Castle but I still can't find the dad or his kid anywhere.
Gilmel
Well, a good guy who's a torturing terrorist. ;-)
That description fits Our Hero Jack Bauer, too. At least the torturing part.

Another trek connection: the mom of the random suburban family was in DS9's Little Green Men.
Ditto on the thank you for that identification, akg! That was really bugging me.
akg
Thanks to M. Giant's recap, the dad is Raphaeal Sbarge who was Michael Jonas on Voyager (along with a billion other things). I hope the son has a trek connection also.

(The mom's real name is Megan Gallagher.)
