Jason and the Argonauts is on Hallmark right now, with Jolene Blalock as Medea. Kind of weird to see her in that role, although so far I've only seen a few quick scenes with her, so I'm not sure if she's any good. I recognized her voice before her face.
It's also a bit weird to see Baltar as her brother.

I was over at a friend's place one time when he put that on. And then he was a little put out that I laughed the whole way through. As I remember, Jolene's hair is bad. In fact, I've never seen her with good hair.

I liked her hair in the Mirror Universe episodes. Does anyone know if that was a wig or Jolene's actual hair?

Bottle blond? Anyway, I'm finally getting to see S6 of the West Wing and it took me a while to realise it, but evil Admiral Nechayev is playing the Israeli Ambassador. She looks really weird with the dark hair.

She's a bottle blond -- brown is her natural color and looks much better on her, I think.

More Trekkie guest actors making Alias appearances: Jennifer Hetrick was on last night's episode. And forgive me for the shallowness but... she is not aging well. Still has pretty eyes, though -- the only thing I ever liked about her because Vash was an asshole.

I was watching Qpid today and I had somehow managed to block out that Vash was in it. I screamed "NO!" when she first appeared. Still, nice legs though. For a human.

Just saw that too - plus he's listed 4th or 5th when they go through the people in it, so I think it's more than a bit part, which is pretty cool.

Siddig is getting some strong buzz from Syriana. The film is described as structurally like Traffic, but focused on oil rather than drugs.
He's also been cast as Hannibal (the historical figure, not the cannibal) in a British television production. But that probably won't air until next year.

Siddig also completely owned that second series ep of Spooks (MI-5). We never got a complete idea of which side his (very complicated) character was on until the very end.

Colm Meaney was on Law and Order: Criminal Intent, playing a nasty, nasty judge who would do things like get his 16 year old son a hooker as a birthday present and then boink her after the son was done.

The secret ingredient for making a sci-fi show more entertaining? Just add John Colicos.
Not necessarily better, just more entertaining. I haven't seen the first season of War of the Worlds since it aired 17 years ago (how quaint it is to hear them refer to the '53 invasion as being "35 years ago..."), but one of the clearest memories I have of it is a character called "Quinn" from the episode "The Prodigal Son". Quinn is an alien who has survived on earth since the original invasion due to an immunity to the bacteria that put the rest of the aliens to sleep. Imagine my surprise to find that this clearest memory of my first real fandom was, in fact, science fiction's favorite, "Hey, It's That Guy!"
As I work my way through the new DVDs of the series, I find that while I enjoy it for nostalgia's sake, it's a very, very poorly written series. But this episode was a standout, which leads to my theory that a little John Colicos makes everything, even something that was already good like DS9, just a little bit better.

Oh I saw P. Stewart on "Extras" and he was frellin' bizarre. And I appreciate that. "You mean, you don't have a wife or a girlfriend and you've never watched 'Star Trek'?"
Comedy gold.
Though at this moment I think the phenomena of female-less men watching "Star Trek" is an American thing.

Saw Al Siddig in Syriana tonight. (A special sneak preview!) He's very, very good. He was so good, I never saw Bashir at all there, except to worry about whether or not, due to Bashir and all, I would be on his side whether or not he deserved it. Rolling Stone also called his performance "superb." You should go see this movie!

An odd thing with all the Syriana press I've seen so far (including the two thumbs up from Ebert and Roeper). You see Sid in the clips, but you don't hear him. Granted, he's not even remotely the biggest name in the cast, but he seems to have a decent sized part.

I'm reluctantly considering taking thinglet to see Chicken Little today. So I was looking up info on it and I see that Patrick Stewart is in it?! Oh, Patrick, do you really need money that badly? Would it help if I bought a TNG DVD set? Actually, this movie has a ton of recognizable voices that all make me sad, because I think the movie looks terrible and the reviews at Rotten Tomato are pretty bad.

Conner Trineer was on Numb3rs last night. Played a mountain man who was being hunted by the feds. I didn't know it was him til he started talking. Fat lot of good that was. All of 5, maybe 6 sentences. Seemed a bit thinner, but the accent was still intact.

I saw that Isaboe. I was enormously entertained when Connor's mug was shown on a coffee mug as the three actors mugged for the camera. The fact that I was that entertained by my own wordplay ought to tell you that the episode did not blow me away. But Golly Jeepers, the man is pretty!

I thought of you, penny, when I saw it was him. You didn't miss much, except 5 minutes of a very scruffy CT and some humorous t-shirts and mugs with his face on them. I don't know anything about Close to Home, but IMDB lists his Stargate:Atlantis appearance for episode # 2.16 in February 2006.

So, Stargate: Atlantis is on the SciFi channel, right? Alas, I don't pay for it. The WB affiliate does air it Sunday mornings here, but I think those are probably old reruns. I'm going to have a bit of explaining to do when I ask a friend to tape an episode of Stargate: Atlantis for me in February.
