Hugh the Borg (Jonathan Del Arco) is on 24 right now.
Warden
I was watching The 4400 earlier on USA (the repeat is on right now) and Weyoun is playing a mental patient.

Hugh the Borg (Jonathan Del Arco) is on 24 right now.

How did I miss that?! Was he a CTU agent?

He was Mandy's ill-fated next door neighbor who got blown up as a decoy. In all fairness, his face only had about two seconds of air time.

Joyce from The Amazing Race said that she was a recurring redshirt on TNG.
The Houston sales manager also revealed that she was once an actress (Star Trek: The Next Generation, Silk Stalkings). So who did she play on TNG, which most of us agree was the best Trek series since the original?

Ensign Gates. Just like in the picture above, she spent several episodes silently seated at the Enterprise's controls, taking orders from Captain Picard (Patrick Stewart). There were a few happy exceptions, Joyce points out. "In one scene, I did tai chi with Worf (Michael Dorn) and in another, they asked me to [speak] a couple of lines when Data (Brent Spiner) thought they were out of context for him.

Is it sad that I totally remember her and the ep where she did taichi with Worf? See, that's the reason she won, she got trained by Captain Picard!
Anabanana
I just saw Jeffrey Combs (aka Shran, Weyoun) on an ad for Hammerhead: Shark Frenzy on the Sci Fi Channel. Well, it can't be much worse than an Enterprise episode.
tothemax
With a name like Hammerhead: Shark Frenzy, I'm going to say it can be a whole lot worse than an Enterprise episode. Seriously, was Hammerhead too subtle?
Warden
I saw the previews for next week's episode of The 4400 and The Doctor (Robert Picardo) will be in the episode.

It seems that Alexander Siddig and Kim Cattrall were in a London play and are now an item. HOT!

ETA--ah nuts. Looks like Sleestack Hunter beat me to it!
xyzzy
Ensign Ro Laren (Michelle Forbes) was on The Inside a couple days ago. So was Ned Vaughen, who played an extra in TNG's Tapestry.

Yesterday on Trek Today (I think) I read that Oliver Stone, that ass, hired and then fired Siddig because he was a Trek actor. Ridley Scott apparently finds Trek to be a positive factor on your resume, and was disturbed to learn that Bashir and Ezri divorce in the Relaunch books. So he was happy to hire Siddig to be in Kingdom of Heaven.
FoolishWanderer
Ridley Scott is a Trekkie? That's so cool!
cuiusquemodi
I guess this counts as a role...

Why do I feel less confident in our space program now?
Elenita
Why, with so little furrowing, I hardly recognized him!
PrettyButterfly
I can't believe that its taken me three epsiodes to realise it, but Alice Krige, the Borg Queen herself is in Deadwood over here just now. Problem: How am I supposed to watch First Contact now without hearing the Borg Queen saying the words fucking cocksucker?
Peachy Keen
At the Cubs game in Chicago on Sunday, Mark Moses, aka "Henry Archer" led the crowd in "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." He has a very nice voice. (He may be better remembered as Mr. Mary Alice from Desperate Housewives).
LambyToes
What role was Siddig in? Oliver Stone will never get a red cent of my money. .... Not that he's gotten so much thus far but still...

I was just thinking about Siddig. He's so sexy he should be in more roles. I know it's shallow but I can't help myself.

Question: When did Ezri and Bashir get married during the relaunch. I thought I had read almost all of them.
chancellorjake
LambyToes as far as I know...
They Don't...They broke up after the incidents on Trill because he wasn't really in love with her.
However, I just finished reading Trill and Bajor and I am reading Ferenginar and The Dominion right now.
Should that situation change I'll post my opinion in the book thread.
nqllisi
I strongly disagree with the reason you list, jake, but you are correct in the events you state. They do not change.
chancellorjake
You are totally right lis. I guess I was just confused.
I reread the last two pages and I have no idea why they broke up.
I think I am going to move this to the book thread. It will be more on topic over there.
chilehedd
OK, I have seen it all. Shatner is doing ads for a local Personal Injury firm!!!!
CaptainSnarky
chilehedd, I saw those too! All I could say was, "Captain, my Captain!!" and "From Hell's heart, I stab at thee...for hate's sake...I...do this really shitty commercial."

What's funny (or sad, depending on your perspective) is he delivers the commercial in his worst TOS scene chewing glory.
keckler
I've heard that Connor Trinneer has been cast in an upcoming episode of Stargate Atlantis.

I'm so not sure if that even needs to be spoilered since this isn't the SA thread and the news has been broken.
pennyq
See, now I have to watch for when he's going to be on and then get a friend to tape it for me because I don't get the SciFi channel. Something on a network would have been much more convenient, but hell, I'm just happy to see him in anything. I suppose at some point I'm going to have to find a real person to have a crush on, huh? Preferably an unmarried real person.
dbrugg
This would be a lot better if I could take Stargate (either of them) the least bit seriously. When I've watched either show, I just keep thinking "Wow, this must be what Commander Cody would be like if it was filmed today." I appreciate that the shows don't take themselves that seriously, but they usually push it too far for my taste.
Anabanana
If anyone finds out the date Trineer will be on, that would be awesome to know. I second pennyq -- I'm just happy to see him getting post ENT roles.
dbrugg, I thought the same thing myself, but I've been watching an episode of SG1 here and there, since it's right after BSG. Last week's episode wasn't happy-fun-time (a little humor thrown in before things got grim, of course), so I'm willing to admit my respect for them is rising.
Gilmel
Ugh. Why did it have to be Atlantis instead of the palatable Stargate? I've never been able to watch more than five minutes of Atlantis because I find the characters annoying, the acting frequently sub par, and the whole thing rather plastic. It screams "I was made by SciFi," which, with the rare rule-proving exceptions of Farscape and BSG, isn't a good thing. Now I'm going to have to sit through an entire episode of it for Connor Trinneer. Sigh.
frodovet
Anabanana, Trinneer will probably be on Atlantis sometime in Feb. or March, but thats just pure speculation on my part...(I heard they take a break from Sept. to Jan., so I assuming around there...?)
Anabanana
Hopefully they will do a better job of promoting it than the UPN monkeys, so we'll see the ad for it during BSG.
keckler
I have a feeling that it's Atlantis because they've already been pouring the star power all over SG-1 with Browder and Black (the only reason why I'm currently watching SG-1).
thingamajig
Browder and Black (the only reason why I'm currently watching SG-1).

Ha, same here. It's too bad if Trinneer is on Atlantis, because I use that hour between SG-1 and BSG to get thinglet into bed.
Peachy Keen
Every Friday night I eat dinner while watching SG-1. Then, although I have every intention of watching Atlantis, I fall asleep for an hour, where I have never needed an alarm clock to wake exactly at 10 for BSG. Huh. Guess I'll need to remember to turn on the VCR. Go Connor! Whoo!
Harrison Fjord
I wish it had been BSG. Someone in "The Farm" thread in the BSG forum said it would be great to have him as a new Humlon model, and the writers could have fun coming up with new and better ways to kill him each week.
keckler
That would be great, Harrison. Maybe they can still do something like that if they think people tuned in to watch him on Atlantis.
Anabanana
That would be awesome. Though they finally introduced an attractive male Humulon model in the last ep, I'd love to see a yummy CT model show up now and then. (I found Callum Keith Rennie yummy on "Due South", but not so much on BSG.)
dbrugg
and the writers could have fun coming up with new and better ways to kill him each week.

Too bad they don't do that already with the existing models. The show could definitely use some humor. A "They Killed Kenny" kind of moment. Hell, I'd like to kill Boomer and Six every week.

From what I read about Trinneer's appearance, it *could* be recurring. Given that Browder and Black can't keep me glued to SG-1, I think CT has his work cut out for him.

Also, I know BSG is supposed to take a break after episode #10 (#7 airs Friday). The other Friday night shows may do the same.

Deanna Troi was on last night's The Closer on TNT. She played an Iranian woman whose husband had been killed. I kept expecting her to solve the murder by sensing guilt, until it became obvious she had planned it all. I think TNT reruns episodes throughout the week but I don't know when. I do recommend watching. It's a fun show.
EileenH
Deanna Troi was on last night's The Closer on TNT.

Thank you! I was just going to post asking if that was her. I missed the opening credits and wasn't sure if it was really Marina.

I could hardly recognize her sans makeup and hair. The only clue was the voice, and even then I couldn't be sure as she was using an accent.

I thought she did a great job.
AD35
I didn't know where to put this since I didn't see a related thread in the DS9 area, but I'll try to make it relevant here. Brock Peters, who had a recurring role on DS9 as Joseph Sisko (Benjamin's father) and appeared in 2 Trek movies (as Admiral Cartwright) has died. I was browsing thru some of his other roles and the first one that was mentioned by the announcement was his role in the classic movie "To Kill A Mockingbird". He was also in Battlestar Galactica (TOS) and a host of other tv and movie credits as well.
Elenita
AD35, if you were wondering, your sad news was also mentioned in the Media thread. Personally, I think it fits in either thread, so that's not meant as a rebuke or anything.
Harrison Fjord
He also did a phenomenal job stepping into James Earl Jones' shoes as the radio version of Darth Vader. He didn't really sound anything like JEJ, but for the medium he was very compelling.

Very sad news.
dbrugg
I could hardly recognize her sans makeup and hair. The only clue was the voice, and even then I couldn't be sure as she was using an accent.

Holy crap! I see the promos for The Closer a lot, and I didn't recognize MS. Now that I read this, I can kind of see it, but it's still an impressive transformation.
thingamajig
Even watching the show, I kept thinking, "OK, that's not really her." I could recognize her voice, but her face--which was about all we could see of her--was just about unrecognizable. It was pretty amazing.
frodovet
Don't know if you all know this but Brent Spiner is going to be on a new show this fall on CBS called Threshold, he plays a Nigel Fenway. I'm not really sure what the show is about, but it has something to do with aliens and Earth's first contact with them (??), Sorry keckler won't happen again, I read the FAQ
Anabanana
And one of the writers is Brannon Braga.
keckler
frodovet, I'm going to post you to the general FAQ but I want you to spend particular attention to this as it directly pertains to your post:

"I can't possibly read all these messages; I'd just like to post my own thoughts.

Oh, is that so? Well, that's rather rude of you. If you have time to post, you have time to read what others have posted before you.

We know it's a lot to read on some forums. Tough. Show your fellow posters the courtesy which you expect, and read what they've written to make sure you aren't repeating what dozens of other people have already said.

You are expected to read -- and not rehash -- the content in a thread from at least the last fifteen pages or the last fifteen days, whichever is greater.

And if you don't read the other posts before adding your own, for the love of Mike, don't say so. It's selfish, the mods hate it, and it'll earn you a boot."

Please read the FAQ before you post again.
PrettyButterfly
Patrick Stewart is going to be on Extras on BBC2 tonight at 9pm. I can't wait.
EnglishMuffin
I've been past myself all week waiting for it, PrettyB! And I wasn't disappointed. Patrick Stewart wasn't in it much, but I loved the little Trekkie touches when he was. Although I really hope that it wasn't a true portrayal of his personality!
dbrugg
Nimoy's been doing his photography for years, but I just found out about his website dedicated to photos (NSFW warning - he has a penchant for female nudes).

keckler
Yeah, when I worked at Bulfinch Press in Boston, we were given the option of publishing his first photography post. Unfortunately my insistence that it would be a major success at all Cons fell on the deaf and supremely stupid ears of my publisher and managing editor.
nelamm
I hate to be peevish, but draping nude women in objects sacred to Jews is kind of offensive. And his (to quote Gary Mitchell) "longhaired" explanations fall flat too.

Nice pictures, though. What can I say?
