I've got another one: Shatner doing an ad for All-Bran. He pops up in this poor couple's kitchen to congratulate them on their choice of breakfast cereal. Too bizarre. Has he over-extended his mortgage or something? He's everywhere at the moment.
Aw, PB, we'll be not-at-all-tragic Colm-tapers together.

Yeah, he's really making a comeback! And EnglishMuffin, it's been all over Radio 2 - Jeremy Vine's played it and Jonathan Ross has played it every morning this week (I am sad and old too - or maybe I just can't bear the annoying R1 DJs).

The premiere of Shatner's new show, Boston Legal, has an advisory regarding partial nudity. Hopefully it's not of Bill.

Speaking of Boston Legal, did anyone else catch Rene Auberjonois during the opening scene?. He wasn't listed during the main credits, but he may only be a guest star or a recurring character.

I watched the show just to see how Shatner was and was pleasently surprised to see Rene. They were both... OK. There was just nothing either of them could do with the crap they were given.

It seems he's a recurring character, the senior partner in Shatner's firm. Maybe it was wishful thinking on my part, but I like to think their scene together was, essentially, Odo going up against Kirk and giving him a slapdown.

In the last couple of months....
J.G. Hertzler (DS9's Martok) as the art gallery owner on Six Feet Under
Armin Shimmerman (Quark) on Nip/tuck
And jut a couple of nights ago I saw Michael Dorn in a kind of funky, funny little indy film called "The Glitch" I think in a very non-Worf role.

I guess we won't be seeing any more of Daniel Dae Kim now that he's a regular on Lost. Although, judging by his 3 seconds of screen time last night, maybe he'll be able to fit both on his schedule!

What about on ER too? I wonder if he'll be showing up again there? His part on Lost seems in general to be quite a bit bigger than his roles on ENT or ER were last year. Actually, seeing him on the first episode of Lost got me wondering about whether or not there will be MACOs this season...I'm off to the spoiler thread...

Leland Orser (the creepy plasma guy from Carpenter Street who also played a creepy hologram on Voyager) stretched his acting skills and played a smart aleck yet creepy surgeon on ER tonight.

What hologram was he?

Early 4th season, I believe (just after Seven joined the crew). He'd murdered the entire crew on his ship and tried to kill B'Elanna too.

The episode is "Revulsion", and he's the hologram who finds humanoids totally gross, what with the sweating and the skin-shedding and digesting that we do. He's great in that episode, very creepy when he's acting normal, and he has a great yelling monologue that includes the very neat line, "I am ashamed to be made in your image!"

Orser was also a Romulan who was really a Founder in that DS9 two parter - "Improbable Cause", "The Die is Cast". Guy gets around.

Last week I saw Wil Wheaton in Austin at a screening of "Stand by Me". He was promoting his new book (has anyone out there read it?).
He mingled before the movie, and then afterwards took questions from the audience for about 45 minutes, and then signed autographs forever. He was very funny and articulate, and had many great stories about the cast and the making of the movie (for example, at one point, everyone had just about had it with Corey Feldman, and in the scene where Jerry O'Connell's character finally fights back agianst Feldman's, well, let's just say Jerry wasn't acting). And apparently Wheaton cusses like a pirate, but, you know in a good way. Oddly, no one asked him about Star Trek.

Who was that on Without A Trace tonight? I'm pretty sure he was a Trek character actor because I couldn't *quite* place him (which usually means I've seen them before in makeup). Was it Andrew Robinson (aka Garak)?

I saw Bad Santa at the weekend and it took me ages to realise why the guy who played The Kid's dad was so familiar.
I eventually had to close my eyes and listen to the voice before I realised it was Ethan Philips. I actually pointed at the screen and squealed: It's Neelix.
Yes, I know. I have no shame.

What's he doing? Is he hard up for cash, or something?
In general, I'm loathe to begrudge Patrick Stewart his paycheck gigs, because I know that he's just using them to subsidise some theater project he's working on or something. It seems like when he sells out on stuff like X-men and drug ads it's so he can still do theater and continue the lifestyle to which he is accustomed. So the way I see it, someone somewhere gets to see him in King Lear because he's not above reading off a few side effects. Hopefully, sometime that someone will be me.

Daniels was on
Charmed Sunday night, playing a queenily exasperated photographer attempting to shoot a portrait of Piper, the Dolt, the dead-eyed Psycho, and poor, neglected, and doomed Tiny Gay Chris.
Edited to add: Kara Zediker was on
Hercules, but she was also on:
"Charmed" playing "Penny Halliwell" in episode: "Witchstock" (episode # 6.11) 11 January 2004
That episode nearly killed me, which is why I hate her.

Patrick Stewart in the West End! He's in David Mamet's A Life In The Theatre with Josh Jackson. I am so getting tickets for this. Will anyone be around in the New Year to come along?
BanjoSteve
Dec 17, 2004 @ 11:47 pm
You may remember Kara Zediker from such 24 episodes as Day One: 2:00pm-3:00pm, 3:00pm-4:00pm, and 4:00pm-5:00pm, where she played a member of Palmer's staff who, after she found out she'd been seduced by Alexis Drazen, set up a sting to turn him into CTU but wound up stabbing him instead.
Funny, descriptions of 24 plots sound like those descriptions of Passions plots Jessica always throws into her DH recaps.

Jolene Blalock appeared in Jimmy Kimmel's (insert long title I don't care about) Holiday Special last night. He decided to do a special like the old celebrity ones from a few years back. These are the ones where we pretend we're at the celebrity's house, and all the guests are just dropping by.
I think they were trying to act badly in it. I'm not sure because some people performed like they didn't get the memo, and some were inconsistent about it. Jolene, I'm hoping, was bad acting up a storm. Very obvious looks to offstage cue cards, bad singing with a puppy in her arms, overselling the Christmas cheer, etc.
Her crowning moment - she and Jimmy appeared as gingerbread cookies on a cookie sheet. Sadly, it lacked the goofy charm of Jimmy and Mike Tyson singing Christmas carols while building snowmen and making snow angels.
Woman does need to eat, the collarbones and deltoids were way too prominent in her off the shoulder sweater. Dinners, surprisingly not so much.
