Commander Tucker and Ando from Hereoes save an popsicle princess and battle bugs while dirty, sweaty and dimly lit! This Saturday at 9pm PST! Whee! I am so there!
I tried--oh, how I tried--to watch this execrable waste of time and talent. The hour of it or so I watched before DVR deletion was spent spotting the movies from which this one plagiarized. Now, maybe if Captain Tucker (in my mind, he became the Captain of the Enterprise after Archer was killed by Porthos) had been shirtless or something, then I'd have watched the rest of it.

I saw this movie on Scifi with Trip, but it was dull and blatantly ripped off a bunch of elements from Firefly. So I didn't make it through the whole thing. I wish I could see him in something good.

The trailer for NewKirk's next movie can be found
here.
The premise is all laid out pretty thoroughly in the trailer, which sees four friends, including Star Trek's Chris Pine and, er, Coyote Ugly's Piper Perabo, on the run to safety after an apocalyptic plague sweeps the world. With clearly laid-out rules for survival, the quartet think they've got things figured out - until it becomes clear that their methods are not infallible, and that the danger may be worse than they thought.

Oh no! Not TJ Hooker! I HATE these revivals they are always so lowest common denominator and filled with people who are pretty damn uninteresting to me (Stiller, Owen brothers, Jackass guy, Jessica Simpson, the list goes on and on). They'll ruin it for sure and God only knows how they work in the obligatory Shatner cameo.

Funny you should say that:
Quote courtesy of
Codger, from the Stargate Convention in Chicago. Brought over from the Stargate: Atlantis thread:
Connor Trinneer: Liked the first episode as Michael the best, thought it went a bit off the rails after that. Mentioned that, in his mind, Michael had a crush on Teyla. Asked what he thought about the finale of Enterprise, he had to pause for a moment to come up with a polite way to describe it and eventually came up with it being a Trip-centric episode, so he liked that about it. He also said that he had just fired his manager for talking him into accepting a cameo appearance, where his whole part took place in a page and a half of script. He said he felt such small parts were beneath him and his manager wasn't taking very good care of his career.
I did like the way he was sleeveless, sweaty and running on The Closer though. And I thought he got better screen time than David Hewlett from SGA, whose role was basically "Yeah!" and "What he said!". But not as good as John Billingsley, who actually got to be interrogated by Brenda Leigh.
BTW, I caught an ad for Leverage that seems to suggest a MirrorU-Leverage team will be showing up this week. Is this the episode with lots of Trek alum, like Frakes and Wheaton? Or is that a different future episode?

Leverage was awesome, and Wheaton was delightful as he usually is. There was also a shout out to the Kobayashi Maru, and Noa Tishby (formerly Corporal Cole, the slutty MACO that had the audacity to try and Neural Nudge Tucker during "Harbinger") played the Alt-Hitter.
ETA: Actually that's (ETD) edit to delete. That's a Marlowe and Archer reference. I had Trek on the brain, so I saw it where it was not. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Reading Rainbow ends a 26 year run on PBS today. Well done, Mr. Burton. Pity the funding wasn't there in the end.

How did I miss this before? Linda Park (Hoshi Sato) was in a movie with Christopher Marquette and Ray Wise called Infestation. It was hysterically wrong! Giant bugs take over the planet! Linda's role was small (but Pivotal!) and she died off camera.
I couldn't help but wonder if alien bugs taking over Earth reminded her of brain bugs deployed by space lizards to destroy the world. Guess I'll never know.

So I was wheedled into watching Dirty Harry tonight (and enjoyed myself more then I thought I would). And there's an "Andy Robinson" in the opening credits, which is familiar. But I think, "It can't be who I think." But I take a closer look at, and listen to the voice of, the young man playing the villain, a serial killer nicknamed "Scorpio." And oh my god, if it isn't our favorite Cardassian tailor and ex-spy out of his spoon-head makeup. Very very young (it's the second entry on his IMDB roster), very cute, and playing one crazy motherfucker. (Think the way Garak was in "Empok Nor", times ten.)

It looks like Scott Bakula (Archer) has a couple of projects coming out soon. One is a movie with Matt Damon called The Informant. It looks funny. And a TV show later in the fall with Ray Romano (whom I have never found funny) and Andre Braugher, about what it means to be a man and get older. It's called Men of a Certain Age and will be shown on USA, according to the eleventy billion ads I saw recently. Sheesh! I'm still not done being mad at him for the travesty that was Archer! Does he have to keep showing up on my TV?

Also, Noa Tishby (Corporal Cole, slutty MACO) was on NCIS last night. She was interviewing to take Ziva's place on the team. Tony and Tim selected her, but Gibbs made her run away crying. Heh! I don't think she'll be making a return appearance.

At one point, Matt Damon's character is explaining the origins of his company's name (ADM). The A comes from Archer who 'killed himself with an arrow.' Probably a coincidence for a joke but still funny.

I thought Wil Wheaton on Leverage was hilarious, even though he overacted a bit. He played a large turd of a geek/criminal and went up against my darling Hardison. In the same episode there was a reference to Kobayashi Maru (sp?), which made my happiness complete.
Also, Tom Hardy from Nemesis has rapidly become one of my favorite actors and has really made a name for himself. If you want to see a hilarious hoodlum film with him in it, take a look at Rock n Rolla, which also has Gerard Butler in it. Even if you don't like this type of Guy Ritchie film (and he is a hit-or-miss director for me), you must see it for the dance scene, the most economical sex scene in the history of film, and the coming out scene with Handsome Bob (Hardy) and One-Two (Butler).
Hardy's voice is so, well, hot, that he could read the phone book, as they say, and I would be mesmerized.

She had a couple of lines. But basically she was there as the accepting and loving wife - who wanted what was best for her husband despite the fact that they were adult film stars. I think she was meant to be an ironic counterpoint to Cameron - who was sent out riding the judgmental bitch train.
