I'm reading the latest ER recap and apparently Quark was on last week as a Risk Management guy for the hospital.

Yes, he was. With an ugly-ass scraggly beard, too.

He's kind of odd-looking normally. A scraggly beard would be a bad idea.

Oh, it absolutely was a bad idea. Very skeevy-looking. And yes, he was playing a lawyer, but he wasn't playing some stereotypical creepy/evil/immoral lawyer, just a dude from Risk Management. But I think now we know where The Beard went to die.

On tonight's Andromeda John de Lancie (Q) was playing a smarmy smirking sadistic scumsucking (you get the idea) jerk - oh, the range of this man.

I caught Rene Auberjonois on a repeat of Frasier yesterday. Seeing him in a short lilac silk robe pretty much made my day. It was Odo in a lilac robe. Hee!

Daniel Dae Kim was also on 24 this past week. When I heard he'd be on ER, I was wondering if he'd also happen to turn up on Enterprise this week, and since the plot synopsis of Angel involved time travel, I wondered if he'd manage to turn up there, too, and officially become the hardest working TV actor for one single week. But he wasn't on Enterprise, and Angel's time travel plot wasn't exactly what I'd thought it might be.

I think Daniel Dae Kim has a semi-regular role on ER as the resident social worker.

I really miss him on Angel. I've been enjoying him on my season 3 dvds.

I thought I saw an asian MACO during the funeral scene on Enterprise last night but my signal was fuzzy so I couldn't be sure if I was seeing things or if he was anyone familiar. I doubt they would have had Daniel back just to stand there, however.

I think they have had him do that. I think in "Extinction" he had no (or very few) lines, and we only saw him inside a space suit, so we barely saw his face.

Nevermind.

I have no idea why this popped into my head last night, but Randy Oglesby (Degra) guest starred in Vortex on DS9. According to IMDB, he was also in The Darkness and the Light as Salarin Prin.

Wasn't Salarin Prin the Cardassian with the horrible scarring in that episode? Neat. He was pretty good in that.

Apparently I've seen him a zillion times before. He's the twin aliens in "Vortex", he did an episode of Voyager, he was in Enterprise's "Unexpected", and, out of makeup, he was the professor that sent Fred to Pylea on Angel.

Sort of like Vaughn Armstrong: we've seen him a lot, but we didn't really notice him until he had a notable recurring role.

Cleo256 that explains so much. I loved Unexpected when it first aired and the love was still intact when I saw it again a few weeks ago but something was slightly off. When I read your post I ran to the TV to put it on again and practically screamed ‘Degraaaaa’ when the Xyrillian captain showed up.

Dude. Oglesby was the creepy, slinking around in the shadows, almost killing Yoshi and Kira guy? He's one of my favorite DS9 villains. I have to watch that ep again.

I remember liking the ep but I have a block on Oglesby as Salarin Prin.

He's the guy who captures Kira, and is revealed as the guy murdering all her old comrades. He was disfigured by a Resistance attack, so he spends much of his screentime in the dark, referring to Kira as "it" , and threatening to surgically remove Yoshi.

Referring to Kira as "it" totally removed my memory block. Gives me shivers.

Last Thursday Gates McFadden was in an epsiode of The Handler called The Wedding Party. (I think) She still looks good.

Mr. b was flipping through channels late on Friday night and happened upon an episode of The Waltons. I looked up at the screen when I heard him shriek and lo! and behold, there was a very young Jonathon Frakes in an airforce captain's uniform. Anyone know if he was a semi-regular cast member or if that was just a one time appearance?

I have no idea. How'd he look?

His name was Ashley Longworth, Jr. and he was in 2 episodes 8 months apart.

Just saw Roxann Dawson on "Without a Trace". She was the abductee, and it took me a couple scenes to place her voice.

Ethan Phillips has a small role as a security guard in the Alec Baldwin movie The Shadow. I was watching it on TV, trying to figure out why the guard's voice sounded so familiar before yelling out "It's Neelix!" Then my boyfriend looked at me all weird.

Oh my god, Anabanana! I watched that whole episode of Without a Trace and had no idea that was Roxann Dawson until now! Freaky. She looks really different now.

I saw a commercial for some cholesterol-reducing drug, and who did the voice-over? Patrick Stewart. strange to hear that Shakespearean voice reading bad ad copy.

It's really awful, horrible. Stewart should steer clear and the Estate of Theodore Geisl should sue :)

Less Klingon?

Well yes, heh. But she also had this really short pixie haircut and was playing the mom fighting with her husband and teenage daughter and she was just... really mom-like. Her face is fuller, too.

Stewart is also doing horribly written voiceovers for some sort of car tire.

There was one episode of VOY where B'Lanna's Kingon half and human half were separated (into separate bodies) and that's the only time I got to see Dawson without the forehead ridges. Even so, I still had to recognize her through her voice, because as HarleyQ said, she seemed very mom-like -- more mature definitely.

I had to go by voice also. I'd noticed her name on the credits, but I hadn't placed it until she started talking.

So did anyone else catch Patrick Stewart and Glenn Close in the remake of "Lion in Winter"? Not awful, but still unfortunate.

No, I didn't see it. I'm pissed about it; I didn't realize it was going to be on Showtime (which I don't get). Unfortunate or not, I really wanted to see it.

thinga, if you have a friend with Showtime, it's on again Friday. Patrick and Glenn were very good, but they are overshadowed by both O'Toole and Hepburn who were beyond great. The supporting cast was also good, especially the gent playing Philip Augustus. Yet the original had the debut of Anthony Hopkins and Timothy Dalton. What I missed most was John Barry's music!
