If only it were a double elimination tonight, so team Lawyer can GO HOME.

That was infinitely better than last week. I love episodes where there's no airport travel, as it gives us more time to focus on the teams and the locations instead of filling 10-15 minutes of airport shuffle, and it showed tonight. I really liked the tasks this week: the only complaint in this area is that the detour seemed a little lobsided towards the hauling. Usually the mental task is supposed to give teams an edge if they can do it quickly but this seemed that Marcy and Ron did it fairly efficiently and were screwed regardless.
Watching them run through the streets with those animals though was the highlight of the show, made even better by the Amazing Cameramen. Some of the shots they got tonight were just superb. They really are the best of the best.
Was hoping for a Lance and Keri elimination at the end, but it was pretty obvious M/R were out. Keri's voice just annoys the hell out of me, and he's a bit on the intense side (understatement).
Great episode!!!

I think the episode title should have been Ron’s “What the fuck was that?” when Marcy smacked him with the envelope. Ron seemed annoyed with her a few times during the Race. Not trying to consult on the spelling was a fatal error; maybe they thought it was prohibited.
It’s so fitting that the annoying people are the one’s who are clueless about Race tasks. Like Canaan who thinks they have to dance for their puppet clue and Lance|Keri who didn’t know to open their bullet. Keri is totally clueless, but it’s grating that Lance places the blame squarely on Keri when both of them are doing something wrong.
I love water puppet theater. I think Cheyne (lulling the puppet into complance) and Brian (the mighty lunge) had the best clue-grabbing technique. Speaking of Brian and Ericka, they’re really exciting about being an interracial couple, what with the zebra and yin-yang visor.
As cool as the Globetrotters are, I was rooting for Meghan and Cheyne to beat them.
The greeter seemed so earnest and so said when the last team was eliminated.

Lots of shuffling based on bad luck and not proficiency at the actual tasks in this one, which doesn't always make for a good episode for me, especially when the tasks themselves are nothing special. But, my love of the Globetrotters and Zev and Justin and my hatred of Lance meant that both footraces were really intense, so it was still a very entertaining episode.
I feel a little better toward Maria and Tiffany after this leg.
Marcy bugged me, so I'm not sorry to see them go.

Team Asstorney continues to drop, while the Chipsters actually gained back a bit of respect. Not only did they maintain position in a leg heavily weighted towards teams with at least 1 male (e.g., every other team), but they actually gained points for their reaction to the brothers trying to help them (as did the brothers for offering). After dealing with a heavily physical detour and a roadblock that saw every single coed team have their male teammate perform it, they lost no ground and remain midpack. Which is probably where I want them to finish at this point.
Other than "Team Lion", no one really grated this episode. Team Miss America did great in that detour.

I think they would have been done so much quicker if they realized they just had to ask someone to unscramble the word ... instead of looking up at signs to find it (?! wtf was that? I guess if you don't know that thats the wrong way to go, it must seem fairly obvious....).
However I'm glad they left because I hate when people are so calm and nonchalant about racing. It's a race!! Hustle.

Ok so I missed last week and this was my intro to the new teams. Immediately LOVED the Harlem Globetrotters ("work it girl, work it!") but why aren't they using their real names? Just as immediately I hated Lance and Keri...he is a controlling ass but she is a shrew. They need to go next. The gay bros are HOTT..they can stay :)
So what was with everyone being soooo dumb tonight? The older couple who were Philiminated stood around for ages trying to figure out the word?? WTF? They didn't realise it wasn't in English? Their task turned out to be easier but they flubbed it up. Time to go home indeed. The female half tends to look lovingly at the guy but he doesn't seem to be having it.
And right at the beginning why did so many teams not realise that they needed to GO TO Ho Chi Minh city? What was all the wandering about? Same thing looking for the 008 intersection.
Hilarity at the dragon part. I was rolling! Loved the guy who did the stealth move on the puppet...too funny. More hilarity dragging the animals. Leaving the thingie in the middle of the road to go back for a balloon? That's bringing the funny too.
I do like that the tasks seem more involved..not just "go here and take the clue then go there". They were working hard! And no airport..yay!
Globetrotters for the win!
ETA: "Team Zebra"? AKA Brian and Ericka? Please stop saying that or I am going to hate you. A LOT.

I'm officially down on Team Masshole. Basically, they're a more unpleasant version of Dandrew, in the sense that they're not only loud and obnoxious towards each other, but they're also incompetent. And the only reason why they'll remain in the Race is because other teams will fuck up worse. And if they win? Well, TAR16 will be just around the corner.
Marcy/Ron . . . I'm guessing it took them a lot longer to complete their Detour than it looked. They seemed nice, but yeah . . . worse leg than the Massholes, and that's all it took.
Other than the Massholes, we got a good leg. Liked the Globetrotters, though they seem a little too loud towards each other. Other teams are either okay or "meh" at the moment. I'm just against the Massholes. Yoga instructors wouldn't have bugged as hard as Lance & Keri, I know it.
Next week: Please let the Massholes lose their passports. And yeah, I like typing "Massholes."

I really like that team Miss America work together and lean on each other and that she doesn't appear to think "I'm pretty so I'll get others to help me". They're very self sufficient as evidenced by the animal task.
And Lance and Keri - complete morons. They screwed up absolutely every where they could screw up. Once all the laggards are out of the race, they'll be gone because they can't keep making mistakes like that. But they will because they're idiots.

I always root for the older teams, being seriously middle aged myself, but Marcy & Ron just weren't going to go very far. Aside from not getting help unscrambling the word earlier from someone who actually spoke Vietnamese, they were just too laid back and lacking hustle. Calmness is a great skill in real life, but not on a race. I figured they'd stop for lunch on their way to the VCR-deconstruction task.
Loved the water puppets, and the ceramic animals. And Ericka's cute line about picking the zebra. Hope that Mr. Giraffe got put back together.

What an enjoyable episode! We got to learn a little more about how the different teams work together. I was happy to see my favorite team, Meghan and Cheyne, do so well. Second place is pretty good! I liked Cheyne doing a little dance for the water dragon puppet before he got the clue.
Of course the most entertainment came from Lance and Keri. I was glad they weren't eliminated just because they provide so much unintentional humor. "Where's the clue? Where's the clue?" as they run around looking for the clue they're actually holding in their hands. HA! Lance's voice even sounds like S6 Jonathan's, high and whiny, but thankfully Keri is no Victoria. She made him apologize! I think when Lance is not being competitive he's probably an OK person.
It was fun seeing the teams lug the animals around & fun to see how they handled it. The smart teams chose the low-lying animals since they'd be easier to transport. One team--I forgot which--actually laid a fawn on its side. I suppose laying the giraffe on its side would not have made much difference for Zev and Justin--that long neck sticking out could have gotten broken off.
Maria and Tiffany were fun, too. Tiffany looked pretty nerdy with those safety glasses on. I liked seeing what a good sport she was with the locals as she worked away on the computer. Lance was funny ripping the computers apart.
The two oldest teams are out now. The biggest ranking jumps from leg 2 to 3 are Brian and Ericka from tenth to fourth, then Lance and Keri, from 4th to 9th. Brian and Ericka worked together really well this leg while Lance and Keri fell apart a little. Zev and Justin took a dip, too. Anyhow, fun leg!

I disagree. I thought there was a lot of merit involved. Ron and Marcy did poorly because they mis-read a letter and for some reason failed to get a Vietnamese person help them in assembling a Vietnamese word. The other Detour was determined by picking an animal that was easy to balance, keep a handle on your balloons, and hauling power. The VCR disassembling seemed merit-based until they let Lance get away with just smashing it. The puppet theater gave teams a small time advantage based on technique. First place was determined by a foot race. The only thing that seemed like luck to me was that some shuffling seemed to occurring in the cabs. But it didn't seemed like egregious cab trouble.

This episode bugged for some reason. The pace was too frenetic, the racers' nerves were all jangled (more so than usual), everyone seemed on the verge of panic for some reason. That park was was crazy-busy! The whole thing made me feel nervous, not entertained.
Lance and Keri are a crummy team for sure but, at least I can give kudos to Keri - she's no Victoria. She even managed to evoke a weak apology out of Lance. I didn't think he had it in him. I was so hoping that they would be eliminated. And what was that talk about wrestling Phil at the mat? Weird. He must have been a bully when he was a kid. Phil handled it well by stroking the guy's ego a little and letting him think he could beat him.
Team Zebra! Love it!
Broyay is starting to annoy (yes YOU, DAN).
Still feel the love for the Globetrotters (Sorry to hear about one of their fathers dying two days before the race started. Hope he got to go to the funeral). Also love Cheyne and his girlfriend, especially when he said she tasted delicious when she was all sweaty. Awww! Cuuuuute!

I really liked this episode but gave a huge WTF to the placement of the Pit Stop. Whoever did the research for this leg should be beat over the head. Seriously?
I thought that Ericka and Brian's zebra moment was so cute. It was something between just the two of them rather than a huge "Hey we are an interracial couple" thing. Just them picking something that meant something to them and being really efficient with the task was a huge plus. They are still my favorite team.
I can not wait for team Mass to go away. The guy is an ass and the girl has the shrillest most annoying voice in the world.
What the heck was with Canaan and Mika dancing for the clue?

I laughed SO hard when Team Globetrotter walked past the woman in the park and one of them went 'Work it, girl, Work it'. And she was, LOL.
Also I also have to give props to the cameramen for getting some great shots. After Team Globetrotters parked their animal statue and dashed off with their clue, the cameraman hung around to show a little girl wiggling her way to sit on top of the statue. Too cute.
Ron and Marcy were likable but needed to go. They just didn't have enough of 'eye of the tiger' for me to think they could really win this race.
Team Zebra annoyed me the first time they said it, but I laughed at how doofy they were the second time they said it so for now they can keep it.
Sam and Dan (I always want to type Dean!) continue to bring the pretty, even if there are some cracks already showing.

What the heck was with Canaan and Mika dancing for the clue?
It seems clueless Canaan thought point was to dance to impress the puppet, which would simply give them their clue. So he told Mika to dance. Or maybe he's so deprived by being pure with Mika that he just found an excuse to get her to wiggle her ass to tide him over.

Speaking of which, Auschwitz was a stop on TAR/AS where candles were lit and respects were paid before the teams remaining at that point go their next clue.
I do agree it wasn't the best place to have a pit stop at what may be a place of "propaganda" glorying a brutal regime, which still rules the country currently.
The two oldest teams are out now. The biggest ranking jumps from leg 2 to 3 are Brian and Ericka from tenth to fourth, then Lance and Keri, from 4th to 9th. Lance and Keri should have dropped one more spot to be eliminated.
Lance is starting to turn into Jonathan pretty quickly and his team is starting to turn into a combo of Jonathan and Superbad for that matter, after bleeding a lot of time not realizing that the clue is in the bullet, the stamp itself was the clue and for getting totally lost looking for the whatever 008 location was.
I am not sure if there was any Ugly American stuff from Lance (or any other team for that matter), but Ho Chi Minh City is definitely crazy especially at rush hour, especially if you put four million motorbikes in the mix. Surprised that there was no mention of Frogger for that matter.
As for Zev and Justin, they dropped quite a bit because of their choice of animal to move to the playground. That could have potentially eliminated them had it not been for Lance and Keri and Marcy and Ron.
I always root for the older teams, being seriously middle aged myself, but Marcy & Ron just weren't going to go very far. Aside from not getting help unscrambling the word earlier from someone who actually spoke Vietnamese, they were just too laid back and lacking hustle.
Marcy and Ron bled too much time on the Word Play task itself especially with them trying to find signs with contained the letters itself and that they got it wrong the first time. It turned out that the two words that were made were indeed English minus those diacritical marks.
Wonder what Doc Lap (with the marks) means in English? I would not be surprised if it was related to the next clue or task.
Had they chosen the Child's Play task or did the task quicker, it would have been Lance and Keri that would have been out after losing the footrace.

Yup. I was surprised and disappointed that Lance got away with that. And count me among those who are wondering how he managed to graduate from high school, much less law school. He and Keri don't have the resourcefulness to last long in the race, and I really hope they don't.
I don't much care for Sam and Dan--they've rubbed me the wrong way in both episodes. But I'm liking everyone else so far. Even the poker players were kind of endearing this week. I intensely dislike both members of Team Hulk and his bride. I so wish they had been the ones eliminated even though I am not a fan of Marcy/Ron either.
He could pass the bar but yet fumbles every clue and can't figure out to look in the bullet when every other team can? Ok. Also, his aggression because he finished before Zev/Justin and they got a taxi first was absurd. It's not just who finishes dickwad; it's who actually makes it to the pitstop and how.
I am really happy Zev/Justin beat Lance just to make Lance that much more anxious and pissed. Zev saying he would take him on was great as was Phil chiding him about being "the lion" while the gazelles were beating him.
The animals were fun though I was surprised to see anyone take the giraffe.

Lance kind of scared me at the end there - it looked like he spooked Phil a bit, too. When Zev needled him after Phil's gazelle/lion quip, Lance seriously looked like he was thinking " I would beat the hell out of you right now if there weren't any cameras around". There's frustration, and there's bluster, but he looked downright cold-blooded cruel.

Loved the near photo-finish with Team Globetrotter and Meghan/Cheyne. Both teams played the game well, and were respectful at the end.

I was so annoyed that Lance the idiot did not get eliminated because his team made so many mistakes. They just lucked out that one team screwed up even more. I can't see them lasting much longer though if they continue with the time wasting bickering.
So glad that Phil ripped on him at the mat, in such a way that he probably still doesn't realize that he was being insulted. The socially awkward part doesn't really surprise me, because some lawyers are emotionally retarded and prefer to fight with opposing counsel on all issues as opposed to coming to an agreement when possible. So Lance's overaggressive approach to Keri is not that surprising, especially because he seems to be overcompensating for something with his excessive fitness and hulk like behaviour.

I agree with everyone about Lance being annoying and it's SO not fair that he got to smash the VCR. Not to mention his comment along the lines of, "I did the manly thing." Oh, so men smash stuff? He's a genius.
Some said they were more impressed with the poker players, but I disagree, especially after the Asian one (Maria? Some M- name? Every other team that I could see worked together on the physical part.

Re: Marcy and Ron; Once again, I found myself screaming "READ YOUR DAMN CLUE!!" at the TV. I sort of liked them but they were getting annoying tonight, and certainly didn't seem to have a race mentality.
Lance and Keri are not only obnoxious, but they're not very bright, are they? Or maybe it's that they get so frantic that they don't stop to think--and Lance seems to be expecting the locals to solve every problem for him (when he's not blaming Keri.) I don't mind Keri's voice so much--being from the NYC area, it sounds kind of homelike to me ;-)
Although nobody talked about a busted duck last week, "My giraffe is broken" would have been appropriate tonight. . .Those animals were cute, and I liked the way some of the racers were talking to them. It made them seem a little relaxed.
I can't believe that, after coming within a short distance of being eliminated, Lance was still mouthing off about getting ahead of the others. Got to go. Seriously.
