This is your own fault, Australia. Can't wait to see... well, actually, I can.

Hope the sense of humour has evolved beyond this:

"Why did the chicken cross the road?"
"Why?"
"Because Molly's a poofter."

I have to think the people who started that damn Facebook group that gave us this thing did it as a joke.

I'll bite. A blackface routine? A blackface routine?!

What The HELL Were You Thinking?!

Nice to see Jacki Mac back, though.

I'm amazed that nobody else has posted here. Especially given the shitstorm it's generated.

Never heard of this show until today. Saw so many news and entertainment shows discussing the blackface fiasco.

I had an argument on Facebook with someone I don't even know about how blackface is never an acceptable topic/method for 'comedy'. He was arguing that the performers' intention is the most important thing: they didn't mean to cause offence, therefore viewers should not take offence. Sigh.

It was good to see Jackie MacDonald. I always loved her particular brand of sunny goofiness. She was wearing a wig, right? Her hair couldn't possibly still look like that.

I didn't watch the whole show. Got bored with it after a while and flicked between it and Celebrity MasterChef. I predict that if Channel Nein brings it back on a regular basis it will flop. Good for a couple of reunion shows, but otherwise, no.

I was born after Jacki Mac had left the show, so my only thing to go by for comparison was the interview they did with her for the last show back in 1999, but she did seem adorkably wacky.

For me, the worst thing about the situation is how the media is treating it. Sure, it was offensive. But it's not like America is as immune from racism as its media is implying. It's kind of depressing that the only people who have managed to make anything approaching coherent arguments about this are Bill O'Reilly and Whoopi Goldberg. And if you have to go to The View to get a decent point of view? The world is fucked up.

That said, the second special was a lot worse than the first one, even if you take out the Jackson Jive.
