Firstly, because this thread really can't begin without it: Shut UP, Bruce!

Now that that's out of the way, it's onwards to the finals. As you do. To recap where the coverage is for the first week:

Friday Night: Adelaide vs. Essendon in Adelaide (7 and 7HD from 8:30).
Saturday Afternoon: Geelong vs. Western Bulldogs in Melbourne [MCG] (Ten and OneHD from 2:00).
Saturday Night: Brisbane vs. Carlton in Brisbane (OneHD from 7:00, Ten from 8:30).
Sunday Afternoon: St. Kilda vs. Collingwood in Melbourne [MCG] (7 and 7HD from 2:00).

For those keeping track, the only live game on free-to-air this week is the Geelong/Bulldogs game.

Yay an AFL thread! Really happy this is here. What do you think of the finals series so far? There have been some fantastic games (crows-pies, lions-blues) and some blowouts (dogs-lions) but overall I've enjoyed it. Hoping Saints can win the premiership.

Oh, man, the Brownlow coverage last night sucked. Still, at least Brucie wasn't there. (Why did Sandy host it, anyway?)

The coverage of the finals so far has been absolutely horrendous. Dear Seven: You have Better Homes & Gardens on every week. The preliminary final -- one of the most anticipated ones in years -- only happens once. Do NOT delay the coverage so we can all learn how to decoupage.

Ah, the brownlow. Two and a half hours of boredom followed by what, two rounds of genuine excitement? I watched it live on 7HD in Perth, so it was over by the time the delayed telecast started. Why on earth did Sandy Roberts ask Ablett if he wanted to meet Tiger Woods? That was embarrassing.

I agree with you on the finals coverage. We never get anything live. Heck, if the grand final was at night (which...just no) it would probably be delayed. I don't know which station is worse though. I hate tens stupid five minute warnings and their dramatic openings. Just get on with the game!

Sandy Roberts hosted because Bruce's dad died. That's why he wasn't commentating on Friday night.

Unfortunately, this year's was wrapped up with two rounds left to go.

Stupid question time: Did anyone else watching Ten not actually hear the final siren yesterday? You'd think the commentators would have enough sense to not talk over it -- the game wasn't even moving!
