Has anyone else seen this BBC import, now airing on IFC?
I love how everything about it is so completely different - and "non-traditional" - from shows produced in the States.
The protagonist, Moz, is overweight, scruffy and hardly ever leaves his flat. He sells pot out of it, but doesn't have any money and hates it when clients come to the door and he has to stop what he's doing to deal with them. Probably because his clients are all a little kooky. One wears a cartoon mouse mask at all times. Another, a between-ops transexual, keeps inviting Moz to feel his new breasts.
It's very subtle and often colloquial humour, but I am just loving this show!

I thought I was the only one watching this show. It's from 2005, but I never heard of it until IFC picked it up a few weeks ago.
Hardly ever leaves his flat? I don't think we've ever seen him outside the flat or even mentioning leaving the flat. The mouse mask kind of scares me, so I'm glad he seems to be out of the picture.

Well, he hasn't left the flat so far, but I didn't want to assume ;)
Yeah, that mouse mask guy is freaky. Cool idea for a character, though.

Moz should have told the "belt" girl to fuck off. Not only was it his birthday, but it was his fucking house!

I love that Moz's cat is named Mrs Slocombe.

Oh my god! Moz actually left the flat!
Cartoon Head is one badass dude.

Did Moz repaint the JFK wall? Looked like it.

Was this episode the first from the second season? Several months had passed & I think Moz actually looked a bit tan.

That's what I thought. It's the usual MO for a new series, isn't it? I thought it was pretty funny that everyone else had turned down the best man "job". Even not!Craig.
But that makes me wonder how not!Craig got involved with CH and Psycho Paul. Did they already know each other? I mean, they all seem to have at least a passing awareness of each other. But not!Craig is totally clueless about his brother so is he equally clueless about what CH gets up to? I don't really understand that relationship. Neither does Moz, apparently.

First of all, am I right that the show isn't on Sunday nights anymore? My DVR switched systems around the time the show changed nights, but I think it's catching it late night Mondays now.
Secondly, I think I saw in the credits that the guy who plays Craig/Craig's twin is the creator of the show, Graham Duff. I hadn't realized that until now.

Yeah, looks like they changed nights. Which I was disappointed to learn.
Funny that even the bigwig cops call Cartoon Head "Cartoon Head". You would think they would have used his real name.
Also, I admit to being morbidly curious about how Judith did her thing. It's one thing for a bloke to get off that way. But how on earth could a woman get away with it? Inquiring minds want (and also don't want) to know ;)

I figured it would be easier for a woman, in a way. Rigor mortis and all that.

Even though IFC's site still says this show is on Sundays at 11:30, it seems to just be on Tuesdays at 10:30 now & then repeated overnight, like 3am Wednesday.
I managed to miss last week's episode, and when I did a search to see if I could find it online, I discovered there are five seasons of this show, and maybe more to come. That really surprised me, as BBC series don't normally last that long in my experience. We're up to season 3 now on IFC, so I wonder if it will continue. It also appears to air on BBC3 over there, which I'm sure is kind of out of the spotlight.

Whoa! Looks like I missed a lot while I was out of town the last few weeks.
How did the emo band kid get inside the water heater? Did the christian guy do that?
Speaking of whom, what the hell happened to that guy's face?

The kid was sniffing drugs off the toilet when the christian guy came into the bathroom & he freaked out. The bath was full because the whole episode was about Moss trying to take a bath and the builder choked the emo kid in the tub & thought he had drowned. Then the builder hid the kid in the boiler that's not hooked up.
There was a giant wasp nest in the attic & somehow Moss managed to get it stuck on the builder's head. It looked much worse 3 epis ago. It's going down gradually.
I recommend searching online for the eps you missed. It was easy enough for me to find & watch.

Oh yeah, I will when I get time to sit and watch them. I actually like that it's on late on Tuesdays (at least where I am) because I can actually watch it before I go to bed. Thanks for the recap. That's kind of what I got from the "previouslies" but I didn't catch the wasp sting part.

I didn't realize anyone else was watching this one. Moz is very quick with the verbal comebacks, he makes me chuckle at least once an episode.
Good for Stevel Kneivel to finally stop taking crap from Psycho Paul and Cartoon Head.
According to wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ideal_(TV_series), it is Brian (Hi! Hi!) who is the creator/writer of the show, not Craig as someone wrote above.

Oh sorry. Obviously I'm not good with names, as I've been using Moss not Moz.
I saw Johnny Vegas on last week's Graham Norton. He's still obese, but he's lost a fair bit of weight.
