Every time I see Tom Green, I think, "Ferris Bueller's principal." He and Jeffrey Jones separated at birth?
"She's good at getting angry at people."
TG is tonight's highlight.
Soooooo, ironically LIl' HItler AnnIe declares that Joan needs to die...
Soooooo, her apologists keep saying that getting under Joan's skin was proof of her poker genius and superiority. Yet TG notes that Joan is way under LIl' HItler AnnIe's skin.
The Trumpets of Cheeze, here's Trump!
Hamster Kia is a great commercial.
Wow, that "Singing to our comatose mom" preview is quite a moving story. But all these emo promo's, is this supposed to be NBC's "Tearjerk Summer?"
Money can't buy honor.
Dang, I had no idea Chuck Daly had died. He left his mark on NBA history.
Ugh, live TV was not the place for this Rodman stuff. WTH? Trump really should pick LIl' HItler AnnIe, he's just as cut-throat sleazy as she is.
Melissa has awful hair tonight.
Whoops, Clint's "Fire your editor" line is tonight's highlight! Thank you!
I'm a big fan of Joan, but it seems like the editors built up LIl' HItler AnnIe the last half of the season in order to tear her down tonight. Not that I feel any sympathy for her, she wouldn't if they had done it to Joan (except if she thought a throw away line would play well for TV.)
I have no problem with Joan's over-the-top comic style, silly hyperbole has always been her trademark. Just a style thing, nobody actually believes she means Hitler. But I do wish she wasn't so bulldogish the last few boardrooms and tonight. It undercut what should have been a pretty solid come from behind win.
But hey, it is all theater. The Joan comeback over the ruthless AIG mentality is just a better story to write. And so that's what they did.

Unbelievable. Joan is a role model? What? Kudos to Annie for finally calling Joan out at the end on all the awful things she said when she saw the way things were going. She was absolutely right that Joan's behavior would be entirely unacceptable in the real business world.

What a croc of cow dung. Joan did not deserve that win at all. Such a blatant ratings grab by Trump. Annie outplayed everyone on that game. If I had any respect for him it's long gone now.

I always get annoyed when people boycott shows because things don't go the way they'd like, but I'm so sick of Trump that I can never watch this show again. The mere fact that he even humors Joan, who is the vilest person I've seen on TV, makes me want to vomit . Even if Annie had won, I'd have to stop watching the show. Why wasn't Joan ever called out for making the event company quit and then LYING about it.
Annie: I wasn't there, I can't tell you what happened.
VIEWERS: We were! Shut the fuck up, Joan.
Also, Joan's party looked like something that would have been sponsored by a high school booster club. Brande made me laugh when she said all her friends call each other "whore pit vipers" now. I wish it had been Brande and Annie in the final two.
Karma is the only thing keeping me from typing more on the subject of Joan. At least Annie's charity is still ended up with more money. Ugh, three hours of my life I'll never get back. FU TRUMP. FU RIVERSES.
ETA What was up with the most of the celebrities agreeing Joan should have won? The fact that Jesse picked Annie should have been sufficient, as he was one of the smartest people on the show this season. And Piers obviously wanted Annie to win, but for what Ivanka already said.

I am really disappointed Annie didn't win. I felt she played a much better game than Joan did. It seems like Joan only won because she is buddies with Trump. I think she should have been penalized for her co-dependence with Melissa and for descending to personal attacks that Annie resisted doing for a really long time.

The fix was in on that one. I can't believe how many personal attacks Joan got away with without getting called out on it. I mean we saw the video the designer quit because of her, and instead of owning up she flipped out. I'm done with Trump and this joke of a show.

While I am happy that such a wonderful charity is getting some badly needed money, I still cannot like Joan Rivers. I find her to be just as terrible as she accused Annie of being. I didn't care for her much before the show. I can't stand her now.

Joan, you and MElissa are the liars. The decorators quit because of you. Annie was just telling Trump what happened -- she wasn't berating you, you old beoych. Too bad there isn't a Bitches of The Year Award, because you and MElissa could win that too.
Obviously, Trump was going to let Cry Me A Rivers win all along.

I'm glad it ended the way it did. They both had their bad moments, but even though Joan loathed Annie and kept attacking her in the boardroom, when it came time to pull it out for the charity, she wasn't giving Annie a thought. Annie never thought about anything but Annie. Even that charity sounds like the kind of thing that someone looking for a charity to make themselves look good would pick.
I will say this -- I wish they'd publicize that party planning company more so that no one ever patronizes it again. I'm not sure what Joan did that was so horrible, but any company that can't deal with difficult clients and then leaves other clients in the lurch at the eleventh hour should go belly-up.

I can't believe I sat through three fricking hours of this show for such a crappy outcome. That stupid cow Joan talks about 'honor' in doing business in spite of the fact that she has been such a rude bitch to Annie. Even in the final boardroom she was spewing her venom, unchecked and barely giving Annie a chance to have her say. I was dying when I saw her crying for her charity but she is so Botoxed up she is incapable of facial expression.
Donald Chump had the winner picked from the beginning and there was no way he was going to let anyone else come out on top. Joan could have done nothing at all and she still would have won. What a hateful, spiteful old bag.

Bullshit. Last season Piers won because it bought in so much more money than every one else. (Four criteria my ass.) So by that standard, Annie won this hands down. 400K+ vs 150K? Trump, the shrewed businessman, should be ashamed. No wonder his casinos have tanked.
Joan and her daughter took this to a new low -- which is, I guess, what Trump needed to secure another season. Boo.

Wow. So even after the Joan drones in the audience see the episode, see how pissed the party planning commitee company were pissed at Joan, they still boo Annie when she brings up the fact that Joan fucked up that portion for all.
For that reason and that reason alone, Joan should have been fired.
Side superficial note that really has no actual basis on the actual episode, but Annie's personal party planner was cute

I didn't like Annie, but she played the game far better than Joan did (and raised much more money), and Joan not only was personally abusive, she also never let Annie say a complete sentence without butting in and shouting her down. Also, it really was unfair for Annie to lose her event planner because Joan insulted the owner of the company.
The whole thing smacked of a predetermined set-up. I don't think Trump ever had any intention of letting Joan lose--even though his own kids obviously thought Annie should win.
As much as I disliked Annie and her "I-I-I-I" routines, she should have won. I didn't like Joan, either, because she was truly offensive all the way through.
I also athink it is repulsive that after Trump asks someone a question, he never lets them answer, and he tells them to shut up when they try to answer.
I am glad for both charities, though. They are both excellent charities. I was also very glad to hear that Pierce's apeparance on CA brought in $60 million for his charity over the past year. Wow. I hope both Annie's and Joan's charities get that kind of support after their appearance on the show.

Annie Duke is a complete sociopath. Textbook passive-aggressive. As far as I'm concerned, the video segments on their charities showed who they really are. Joan's charity was deeply personal to her, she cared profoundly and that was the only reason she was on the show. Annie was emotionless, cold, uncaring and self-serving.
And not for nothing, but Joan DID win the task. Isn't that what it's supposed to be about?
And what was with Annie making up that story about the designer? What a psychopath she is.

Agree, Joan was the pick from the beginning.
How the hell was Joan called a role model? Because she's old? She made up stuff, she interrupted and thought that no one should be allowed to talk, she called people names for no reason, she threw hissy fits, she showed what a terrible parent she is by her daughter's assinine behavior, and she's just scum. Joan=Kelly from HWNY.

How did Annie make up the story? We watched Joan repeatedly insult the event planner, and then tell him he was going to have to work with her person. She actually told him that she was bringing in the other person because the original designer "wasn't creative." Instead of trying to find ways to make what he could get work, she whined and insulted, and he quit. I don't blame him. And it WAS her fault. It's all on tape.

"Professional-ly"... Okay, that made me chuckle when Joan added that, but folks dropping the "ly" from words that need them is a pet peeve of mine.
And Clint! He'd fire the editor. ::snerk:: Good on him. I've agreed all along with what Trump said tonight, that Clint was getting a raw, undeserved deal.
Sorta surprised by the outcome, sorta not. Going into it, I expected it to be a deadlock for Annie, but as the episode unspooled... Yeah, I came to expect Joan to win. Did anyone else think Annie definitively lost it at the moment she went on her "in any other BR in the US" tirade, which, hello, is at least an implied criticism of TD and how he runs his show.
Oh, well, I didn't like either of these women on this show or the way they played the game, so I'll just say good for Joan's charity!

That entire flap with the decorator showed exactly how much each woman was clouded by her hatred of the other. Joan was wrong to accuse Annie of lying, but Annie was wrong to keep blaming it on Joan. Had Annie had any perspective, she'd have blamed the design company for hideously unprofessional behavior. They had an obligation to Annie, and they bailed on it. As Annie herself said, she didn't know what actually went down between Joan and the decorator. So they both lost by harping on each other in that situation, instead of noting what it was: the decorator was crappy, Joan called him on it, and he pitched a hissy and took it out on everybody.
I'm happy Joan won, even if I don't think she covered herself with glory in some of the boardrooms. Bottom line, I think her claim that what you see is what you get is true, whereas Annie is utterly insincere. It's a great asset in her line of work, but not in personal interactions. Nobody likes to feel played.
Yeah, a lot of that was set up for Joan to win, but I don't mind. I like her and her charity better.
I like that Clint got some credit, but I don't like the way the Jesse-Dennis interaction went down. Dennis was being a dick, and Jesse's statement was true, so cutting it off because he called Dennis stupid was missing the point.

Exactly! If I'd been Annie, I would have been furious about that too. Joan totally screwed the pooch with the designers, not only for herself but for Annie too.

Annie was winning until the last 5 mins of the Board Room. She should have let the event planner thing go. Besides which, Joan DIDN'T insult the planner. David wasn't doing anything and his ideas SUCKED. Joan absolutely had the right to disagree with the designer and tell him that his ideas didn't suit her needs. She is the Project Manager. He was a self-important ass who got a bug up his ass, very unprofessional. At the end of the day, Annie and Joan were in the same boat. Annie pulled off a fantastic event and it was hers to win. The woman is a competitor that acts like a sore-loser.
