ETA: Speaking of Shawn -- IIRC, she has been called safe pretty early each week. I kind of wish she would be made to sweat it out. Not because I'm a sadist who wants to see a 17-year-old freaking out (or am I?), but because IMO being forced to wait can help with the viewers who will be reminded to not take her for granted. She may have a good fanbase, but that could backfire if people assume that her having a built-in fanbase means that she's automatically safe. This is one reason why I have no problems with Ty having to wait until the end every week before being announced safe. The man's fanbase is dubious, so anything that'll help...

I watched La Reve in Vegas once (long before Maks revamped the choreography). They were basically a poor man's Cirque du Soleil. It was the show that people went to see when they couldn't get CdS tickets, lol.

I'm a bit surprised that DAG got cut as Steve-O should really be gone by now but he's been in the middle of the pack the entire time and he never really progressed. Two snaps up and out I guess. Finally, what is a Demi Lovato and why are my ears bleeding listening to that "singing"?

I figured LT would have a bigger fanbase and hence stay, but I was hoping it would be his turn to go. I would have preferred DAG get another chance.

Other than that not much to say. Something about the Maks/Karina dance seemed off, or at least in all the lifts. That and Demi Lovato was horrible, but at least they saddled annoying Benji with trying to dance to that.

You know, the minute they had to cut away from DAG while he threw his diva fit over being in the bottom, I was OK with him going home. Still suprised it wasn't Steve-O, but I'm OK with it.

I was convinced that either Steve-O or Lawrence would go home so I'm shocked and saddened to see David go already.

The one thing that has really bothered me these past weeks is that they always leave Ty under the red light with the two other low-scoring couples. They have done this for the past 5 weeks. He has been nothing but gracious and a fun contestant to watch, so I don't know why TPTB continue to do that to him.

And color me shocked at DAG going home. I thought for sure LT was leaving tonight. I pray Steve-O is next.

I thought Maks and Karina were frenetic -I really did not like it. Too many tricks. That song needed steps, not connected tricks and lifts. And yes, Benji is beyond annoying, but he made me forget the bad band and horrible singer . That song needed those tricks. He sure can slide...

Who in the blue fuck is voting for Lawrence Taylor, honestly? And how on earth is Steve-O not in the bottom two? Complete shit. I know David wasn't long for the show, but in my opinion he was a much, much better dancer than those two.

The dance-off has been tested, and it is worthless. If the judges aren't going to get complete control in deciding the results (like SCD does), they need to can it. David & Kym clearly "won" that, by 4 points, but it didn't matter, so... what's the point? If the audience vote is still factored in, they should just ditch it. A few points won't affect the result then. It's pointless.

Did Lawrence & Edyta's interview after their dance seem extremely uncomfortable to anyone else? Edyta had a very puzzling look and it just all seemed... off. I wonder what happened.

That little Disney starlette was ATROCIOUS. Oh my ears are bleeding. And does that Benji Schwimmer guy have a problem with his tongue that it must droop out of his mouth every time the camera is within 15 feet? What was that about, besides obnoxious mugging?

The Macy's Stars of Dance thing never does much for me. Would rather see the pros we have on the show dance.

WHY does DAG always look like such a sourpuss, his mouth was in a permanent twist tonight and he looked so unhappy, it was really off putting and I am in the camp that thinks he has been screwed. I was kinda hoping that he stayed over LT. Heck when I tried to remember who the second b2 person was I couldn't remember it, that's how forgettable LT is to me.

HATED the costumes on Benji and his partner..they were FUGLY, couldn't figure out their style of dance, was it West Coast Swing? Also the next question is will Benji be added as a pro to the season? The Schwimmers and the Hough's ...

I know that Gilles/Cheryl had the best dance last night but I really liked seeing Kim's VW again. Also what was Lil Kim saying to Derek backstage when Samantha called on him. She seemed to be talking a mile a minute and Derek was listening intently.

I was scared for Melissa for quick second, since she was called out later. Very happy that she made it through.

The woman's a damned legend who still sings plenty, all over the place. And I don't blame her for reacting that way to a woman who played "her" in a movie that got plenty wrong (aside from the fact that Beyonce's not an actress, not remotely) who also sang her song for the first couple. That was pure rubbish! Dave Alan Grier was a much better dancer than either Steve-O or Lawrence Taylor. Plus David had a positive attitude and wanted to be on the show. David was improving as well. But instead of keeping him they keep two of the worst dancers in his place. I really wish it had been Lawrence who got the boot because his dancing his horrid and so is his attitude.

Even Edyta looked shocked and sadden that Lawrence stayed instead of David. Plus I think Edyta is tired and weary of putting up with Lawrence and wanted to go home tonight. Woz rightfully got the boot last week. So it should have been either Lawrence Taylor or Steve-O who got the axe tonight. Next week Steve-O or Lawrence Taylor better get the boot. I sure as hell don't want to see another good or decent dancer get the boot when they should be kept on the show. It's time to send the two contestants(Lawrence and Steve-O) with two lead feet and no rhythm home as soon as possible.

Word to this entire post. Benji needs to keep his tongue in his mouth while he dances. Ugh, the boy just annoys me. At least he, not one of the show's pros, was stuck dancing to Demi Lovato. WTF? I had no idea who this girl was and my ears wish I never heard her sing either.

Etta James was superb and the only version of "At Last" worth listening to IMO. Nice to see Lil Kim and Derek get the encore. I agree with Tom that it is fun watching her have fun on the dance floor.

Good to know Steve O's dad took the time to figure out the voting difference he had to make up tonight.

When I heard they added the dance off, I thought it would be like SCD. I welcomed it because it seemed to like the Paulina/Albert Reed rule. Keeping better dancers around who might have small fan bases. Tonight proved why DWTS's dance off sucks. DAG should still be there and I think Edyta felt the same way. She looks miserable with LT. LT's interview backstage with Samantha was very awkward and it was not caused by Samantha.

This is why the whole dance-off sucks, especially with the fan votes still being considered. How much would LT have to suck in order to be the one going home? Not only did DAG earn a higher score last night than LT, but he improved his score by two points tonight while LT stayed the same and didn't improve his score. And yet LT stays. What exactly was the point of this dance off again?

Oh, man, that was so disappointing! DAG and Kym did much better tonight and with the improved judges' scores, I was pretty darn sure it'd be LT/Edyta going home. Wish it had been. I've not been at all impressed with LT's dancing, have found him less than personable on this show, and he seems to be enjoying himself not at all.

On another note, I was wondering tonight on what the rules are concerning the dance-off. For example, do they leave any room for a couple to tweak their choreography, if they so desire, to improve the dance, hopefully, and get better scores? I don't mean wholesale starting anew, but based on specifics given in the judges' critiques, like that awkward leg lift in DAG/Kym's dance. I'm guessing they don't allow it, but maybe they should allow it, based on the judges' critiques, to leave complete room for improvement.

Unfortunately, ABC is owned by Disney so we'll just have to continue to suck it up!

I wondered what kind of dance Maks and Karina would do to At Last with Etta singing. Because the song is so slow I thought they would have to put in lifts to keep it moving. I loved that they walked away together at the end with her hand on his chest. I did not see any faces other than very content....At last..

Sorry to see DAG go, there were others that should have gone first, like Steve O very little improvement. Even Ty with this weeks dance would have been understandable. LT too. This season is weird, too much fanbase not enough dance talent. Honestly the Woz should have gone before Denise maybe even Steve O. But I guess it takes about six weeks, in no particular order, to get the order straight.

Ok, I totally missed that because I was so delighted for Ty. I went back and watched DAG this time and WHOA. That was uncomfortable!

Eh. Aside from Maks and Karina's dance (and I like their dances to "Rebel Yell" and the Cyrus Family Warbling better), this results show was a waste of time. I feel so bad for DAG. I wish he (and even LT) had been on a less competitive season. Maybe the audience would have been less apathetic toward him during the snoozefest that was last season.

I'm disappointed UpChuck and Julianne didn't land in the bottom. After his dumbass "I can still keep my man card" comment I want him gone.

I am not surprised that Steve-O lasted longer than DAG. Steve-O seems to take a joy and happiness into the dancing. DAG treated it as if it was something that had to be conquered in order to prove something. I usually like DAG but I haven't cared for him on this show at all. From the first episode he wasn't coming across well. I think that Kym's fanbase kept them around this long.

As far as Steve-O, I would not be surprised if he beats out both LT and Ty/Chuck, if they have an off night. For one thing he has this great underdog story going on and Lacey has a pretty sizable fan base.

Demi Lovato? Wtf is that? Seriously are the kids of today completely tone deaf? They have no idea what shit is being marketed towards them as actual music. Good GOD. Also, i'm so very glad that they brought in someone else to dance with Benji. He was annoying and I don't want Lacey tarred with his brush because of his behavior. I think that she's taken an important step away from all of that OTT stuff that was encouraged by big brother. I don't want to see her fall back on that crap.

The dance off is, as others have remarked, pointless. The ones who the judges score improved don't win, because it's all about the fan base. I am probably a party of one that is happy LT stayed. He may be stern looking, but at least he doesn't have a total bitchface like David. It was sooo obvious he was pissed to be in the bottom 2. And more pissed to lose. There I can sympathize, because the whole dance off is bogus. LT obviously has a fan base that doesn't post on this board. There are a lot of Giant fans out there, I guess.

I rewatched Steve-O's dance - and you know, that choreography was gorgeous, imo. A bittersweet mood - very good acting from Lacey - incredibly gracious reaction to their 6's back stage and her "I'm so proud of him" and hugging him. I really love her now and I think she and Chelsie are great additions to DwtS. So for me, everybody from SYTYCD has been an improvement. But still, please no Benji!! He's funny - he's talented - but sex appeal? IMO, he ain't got it.

Yeah, you're right. But sometimes (and if it was at the end of a performance, as I thought, it could've been a combination of tired + alcohol aiding & abetting) you cut loose. I kind of give her a pass on it.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Steve-O called safe. After that, I was guessing it was curtains for LT, but DAG was really starting to annoy, so I'm not sad he is gone. Maybe he danced better, but it's all about attitude, and his was just bad. LT is grating too, so I hope he goes next. He dances just as poorly as Steve-O and with much less conviction. I agree. I voted for Steve-O because I find him to be a very hardworking, positive addition to this cast. I like that this is important to him. I know he won't win but DAG wouldn't have either so I don't see the harm in Steve-O staying another week.

That won't stop TPTB from hiring him. I really think he will be a pro at some point, possibly even next season. It will also give them the chance to brag about having two sets of siblings on the show.*

I'd imagine that he spent the entire time between the stage and the red room (which they seem to act like is some distance, although I can't imagine the set is all that big) swearing a blue streak, and Edyta, who looks like she's so delicate that she might break if you look at her funny, was really wanting to cower in the corner. Call me crazy. ;)

Interesting, Edyta has never struck me as delicate. She's not my favorite pro-dancer, but she is one of my favorite pro personalities.

Lord and Lady but Demi Lovato was bad!

Am supremely dissapointed that DAG is gone, not because I'm a particular fan of his but because I really wanted Taylor gone. Even more dissapointed that Chuck stuck around. His dancing may be getting better but his attitude still sucks. As for Steve-O I think he has shown both heart and genuine improvement so not sad to see him stay.

Derek and Kim's VW was lovely once again and one of the few parts of tonight I enjoyed. Oh, and I loved how when Sam told Derek to cover his ears backstage he was intently listening to Kim and didn't pay Sam a bit of attention. I would rather listen to Kim than Sam any day!

I loved Etta James (yeah! a real singer!) but Maks and Karina felt a little off to me for whatever reason. And then there was Demi Lovato, who sounded even worse than I remembered. She generally just shouts on key but now she sounded winded doing it too. What did they make her do laps before she sang or something?

Mark and Lacey each on their worse night and combined couldn't touch Benji's mugging. Somebody make him go away.

I love both Kim and Ty and I'm scared for both of their fan bases.I'm glad the show gave Kim the pimp spot and the encore and is calling Ty safe last (help remind people to vote), I have a feeling both of them need all the help they can get.

Knew LT wasn't going anywhere, the football fan-base is huge. Sucks for DAG though, I thought he was quite good tonight, much better than Steve-O, LT, or Chuck.

I liked the way LT leaned his head on Edyta's head. I think they're getting along fine. I just think he's totally frustrated at not getting better scores when he is obviously putting in the hours plus.

I hope he is not added next season. He performed last season and they added a male pro this season (Dmitry, much better choice IMO). They are already have a good male pro, Fabian, also available.

Steve-O elicits some response. I think his attitude is refreshing while DAG and LT got lost in the shuffle. I think if DAG was on season 6 or 7, he would have stuck around longer.

DAG looked upset when he was eliminated and of course the first thing dense Samantha asks him is to sing. Shut up, Samantha.
