I loved every fricken second of it (even Clark douchebagginess didn't get to me). That hasn't happened in a LONG time with this show.

Right. And this is why "Hex" is bullshit. This is why Nois is bullshit. This is why I can't stop watching.
"No matter how hard we try to fight it, we will always return to our true nature." Hmmm.
Umm...Clark has thrown like 200 people at least 100 ft. to keep them away from his loved ones. Suddenly we can't hurt people that are threats? What?
The Chlark was OUT OF HAND. Clark all jealous? Check. Chloe putting his bitchass in its place? Check. Clark in his Sunday best, Chloe at the computer researching stuff for him/? Check. And Davis/Chloe/Clark? And are you fucking kidding me? BEST. TRIANGLE. EVER. Nois? Jimmy? jwhejkwa? Oh, and I'm glad that Jimmy was right. Great. Don't you guys even THINK of resurrecting that shit.
Oh, Chloe's moving too quickly Clark? Really? Have you fucking MET yourself?
I liked Chloe's line about the real news not being in the paper. Just a throwaway, but a little nod to the fact that she can still investigate and be in the know without being a part of the journalism world. Still bullshit, but a rosey-smelling turd at least.
I didn't love the S1 retcon, but anything without Nois is workable for me. I didn't FF even once. But why didn't Lex remember Davis? Oh, and Lil!Lex and Lil!Dooms broke my squee. It's totally out of order, who knows for how long.
I love Chlark scoobying together back in Smallville. Yes, it was short and morbid, but I loved the old school vibes.
AM forces TW's A-game. It's sad that PS3 can't capitalize on that.
Chloe? I give you permission. Go get yours, girl. No judgement from me.
Wow, next episode proves that the quality just keeps soaring.

Holy cow....
This show just went from dark to damned insane with the Chloom.
And is it just me or is the show addressing the Chlark relationship status concerns. Certainly, Chloe isn't letting Clark get away with stuff anymore.
And now at least we have a reason for him siding with Jimmy over Chloe. He'll instinctively go for anything that implicates Davis and Chloe will likewise do the opposite.
Glad they also didn't make her TOO dark with the pull-the-lever thing people were freaking out about when the sides had come out.
All in all, a good episode, though it ended FAR too soon.

The episode was decent, IMO.
Davis healed a bit too slow, IMO, for a boy that can shatter a knife on his chest.
Clark doesn't like any of Chloe's male friends. Davis shouldn't feel bad. It's not just him.
2-headed creature? Wasn’t that supposed to be either Lionel or Lex? Because of the dagger they touched back in season 3 or 4 that exploded?
When Davis went to find Chloe, why didn’t Chloe yell for Clark? He always saves her. And then “Pull the lever”? Also, I’m confused: why didn’t both Clark and Davis pass out around all that Kryptonite immediately?
I liked that Cless bit at the end, if that’s what it was. Them I can actually see.

So is this how the Chlark friendship will deteriorate even further? Clark won't forgive Chloe for hiding Davis, and when she tells him that she did it for him, he'll realize that he means too much to Chloe and she'll do unspeakable things in his name? I loved this episode!!! Legion is my number 1 fav but this is definitely number 2!
This is what I call great acting and chemistry off the charts for everyone (romantic or not)
But in the end, the only person looking stupid is Clark.
He sees Tess egging him on like Lex did and all this crap, and he still works for her? Am I the only one who thinks this is an idiotic move?
And Clark saying how he and Davis could be brothers, did he not listen to Faora, Jor-El, Brainaic, or forgot that beast in Bride? I mean I swear he looks stupid.
As for Chloe, she has a very dark arc this season and I just, wished they tied it to Brainiac, it's like they forgot she was infected when Lana left.

I concur with loving every second of it. This was Smallville at its best. It was very well written and the acting was outstanding.
Finally, Tess was interesting. Interesting that they verbalized that Davis is Clark's parallel especially when it relates to Chloe. Glad that Chloe didn't let Clark off the hook. She needs a friend and he hasn't been much of one.
It really takes away from the impact when you have this episode saddled between Hex and SuperLois. The Doom focused episodes have been superb. Shows how much EDNois drags down the show imo. Davis brings back realChloe too.
Chloe really will do anything, even sacrifice herself, to protect Clark.

Okay...let's see. The kernel of a great episode, continually undermined by stupid little slips. Davis cuts himself - didn't the writers remember he broke a knife on his sternum not many episodes ago? I know they don't care about series-long continuity, but didn't they see THIS season? Davis formed from scrambled eggs knowing English? Not only did Lionel write a freaking diary, he drew PICTURES in it? And others.
Still a pretty good episode.
Every time I think Jimmy has plumbed the absolute depths of dickitude, he finds a new nadir to sink to. The woman he loved enough to marry done him wrong, so of course it's natural to send her obscene e-mails and treat her like a crazy stalker when you think a serial killer is breathing down her neck. Creep. Common decency would dictate that he hold back on the vitriol, both because Chloe never intended to hurt him and because convincing her that Davis is really a killer would be much easier if Jimmy didn't sound like a meanspirited jealous hysteric.
Clark - didn't come off so well either. First he chastises Chloe for a concealment that she never meant to perpetrate (Wasn't he actually THERE when they 'cleared' Davis of murder?) Then after Chloe takes on the burden of dealing with Davis, he Monday-morning quarterbacks her decision instead of at least offering her some comfort first.
Chloe and AM - I have no complaints about. She and SW brought it to the edge of great. And I like it that Chloe made clear that she had not just done what she did because of Clark, but because of the world. A dark, plausible decision.
On a lighter note - those two kids were so grim-faced throughout that when Young Lex invited Young Davis to play I felt sure they were going to start a rousing game of Parakeet Funeral.
Also - Tess has apparently gone nuts.

I have mixed feelings about this episode. The retconning was out of hand and there was so much exposition. I think it made up something like 60% of the episode. The writing, particularly with the two boys, was not much more than functionary. And the rain of green slime was just so silly.
But the acting was damn good. TW really brings his A game when he's with the heavy hitters and SW, AM and CF hit pretty heavily. Loved all the Chlark scenes. Their arguments are always some of my favorite scenes. The tension is so amped.
Tess and Davis, although those scenes were the worst in terms of expositions, were on fire.
See, good acting can save pretty much anything.

But yeah moving along to this week's episode,
Clark going alpha male on Chloe-- check (but your still a douchebag, and I'm glad Chloe called you on being a ratty BFF asshole).
Chlark fighting--- double check. Clark was a douche here, still, it shows on top of everything AM and TW can bring the fireworks when push comes to shove. I literally got all squee when Allison let out a brief yell. Don't hold back woman, your character deserves to vent. It shows your human, let it out! :)
Chloom-- ok. I wasn't much for them prior to tonight. But for a second there during that shot of them putting up their hands against the glass, I bought it. I got it. I felt it. (Clark being there to witness it? Priceless)
Tess-- Your still no Lex Luthor, but finally, a direction I can stomach away from the other blackmailing douche on this show. You have a personality and some spunk. Welcome back.
Now the last scene--- I was biting my nails wondering how much they were going to screw over Chloe (no longer trust PS3). But I'm glad the show made it CRYSTAL clear Davis pretty much blackmailed her to help him or he'd kill Clark.
It's amazing how much an episode flows without the added useless baggage from the show. The episode flew by, its a shame it'll be back to shitty usual come next week.

All four actors were especially good tonight and it was actually suspensful, which the show isn't always good at it. To show how low I consider the show's continuity, I considered it a surprise when they mentioned Jimmy knowing Davis was a serial killer.
I like that we got some insight into Tess and her mindset. And I think it can make sense how she'll jump from hero worship to hero worship. I was glad that her considering Clark a God wasn't shown as her being good but rather more of a bad thing based in her own issues.
I'm not a big fan of the Season 1 Retcon and I would have thought Lionel would have been a bit more thorough. Especially when a monster destroys a limo. However, I laughed because the genetic matter looked very genetic mattery. I also laughed with the children's book illustrations/wording in the Veritas diary.
I don't really see how twelve disappearances in a month in Metropolis ought to raise any eyebrows. It is a big city.
Did anyone else think they ripped off the Planet of the Apes music from when Taylor and the astronauts were running through the field as when Li'l Davis was.
"Are you Warrior Angel?"
"No, but I want to be."
Poor sad Li'l Lex.
I'm unclear. Does Chlark know that Davis was the thing that destroyed her wedding?

I TOTALLY call BS on that PS3 tainting of Chloe because that has been in the forum for years as a LANA will kill for Clark. Chloe will do what's needed but never kill and innocent person. Davis was begging and asking for it. Only now will Chloe learn that just being by him will stop the beast so she won't have to kill. But I can see her backing away from a knife at her throat to lead the killer to Davis.
Was it me or was this episode only 30min and the rest OODLES of frickin commercials. I haven't been watching alot of network TV but the ads were going for 10mins and the show only 5mins seemingly.
Forgave therecon of the past because I hold Brainiac chaged the past the minute he and Kara went back and was able to plant Doomsday onto KalEl's ship.
The sudden final shoehorning of Chlarkoom into 15min when it shouldve been alluded to for the last whole season, sans Blahna crap was not as satisfying as it should have been.
Also it felt like a fanfic from the boards comments through out the whole expositions segment from Tess to Clark and the Chlark spat. But then somethings are so obvious that a good writer doesn't need to filch from fan forums to know the true SV characterizations watching old seasons.
I'm wondering if Chloe is going to be AWOL in the basement til Jimmy and Ollie show up to look for her cuz you know Clark still is a douche and would be thinking she was just needing alone time.
The annoying thing is even when they admit Chlark need to talk the conclusions and resolutions are off or annoying for a true Chlark/Chlois fan, I guess.
Without saying it SW!Davis HAWT shirtless, HAWT clothed. Isn't evil or sinister but DAMNED and DOOMED with no choices except save the world by blackmailing begging Chloe.
DAMN AM for being the core great actress on the show able to portray the audience in the show so like Gumby they can do anything with her character becasue she can pull it off with perfection. From pod-hero-BFF-lover-dark-Real!Chloe. We love or hate it but she shines.

I think they must, now. There were references in this episode to Davis being the "ultimate destroyer" (didn't Clark say Jorel called Davis, specifically, that?), which is what Clark thought the monster at the wedding was. I think they've figured it out.

I suppose I should have expected a letdown after last week. Still, this was a great episode for Davis. Everyone else... not so much. I have no clue what Tess is doing anymore, Clark was peripheral at best and Chloe was so all over the map I lost interest in her after the Chlark fight at the Planet. And although I was expecting the final scene to be exactly what it was, it was so ridiculous and understated it felt more like a letdown than a mini-hiatus cliffhanger. But not every episode can be awesome and I'll take the good Davis stuff despite everything else.

The retconning was excessive but given how far this show has fallen this season, it's par for the course. That said, I loved it save the Clark. I really don't care for him these days with his holier than thou attitude after all the crap he's pulled and mistakes he's made.
Also, Clexana redux with Chlarkooms? Lol.
The Jesus/Judas references pretty much set-up the finale. Clark has to die in a battle with Dooms and then be resurrected in order to fulfill his destiny. Hmmm, I wonder who on this show has the power to bring people back to life. ;)
I cheered for Chloe pretty much all the way and oh, loved how Chlark were shown scoobying at the DP and Chloe went straight for the coffee. Like old times! The Chloisy statement about reverting back to one's true nature - too cool.

It didn't bother me that much because it was coming from Tess, who isn't the most rational of sources. For someone with the level of hero-worship she does, I didn't find it particularly bad.

This was an awesome episode!
The Chlavis' chemistry was on fire, and I know it's strange, but good for him for telling her that he loves her. I think it's important for Chloe to know that there are men who appreciate her and see what a wonderful woman she is.
Even if that man is a serial murderer.
I also liked that he told her about their connection and that she is the only thing that keeps the monster at bay. Again, I know that it's strange, but I find that beautifully romantic somehow.
Good for Chloe for telling Clark what a crappy best friend he was too her. And Chloe now feels guilty for not believing Jimmy when he told her about Davis, but hopefully Jimmy's continuing cruel, jackass behavior will help that guilt to disappear.
Tess was nice and crazy in her scenes with Davis and Clark, but I liked her pointing out all of the lies that Clark's told--good stuff.
See how awesome an episode can be without EDLois' shrill and unneeded presence?
AM, CF, and SW are wasted on this trainwreck. Thank Zod they're here:)

I really wish there could have been a Chloe/Tess scene. That would have just sent me into fangirl heaven.
Although Clark's turn around was more than a bit silly. He literally flipped in the middle of the scene. One minute he's telling Chloe to stay away from Davis the murderer and the next he and Davis should have been brothers. Sadly it was so utterly Clark I let it go.
And somehow Davis the happy hacker still came off better than Jimmy the dick with an e-mail account. Nothing says I love you like an e-mail telling your wife to go fuck herself and die. I know she feels guilty but I really wish Chloe would have sent him a reply telling him to kiss all part of her ass. He's such a douche.

ITA it was like old times! God I miss those days.
When Davis cut his finger I thought they'd show her knife broken or chipped. I have to say Chloe going from horror at Davis being the serial murderer to crying and putting her hand up like Spock and Kirk on the cage window was confusing. I'd think she'd have held Clark away from the Kryptonite cage while he was cringing in pain. I guess it showed Clark how much he's been a douche that Chloe's final compassion and support would go to Davis in his 'dying'.
Still feel it was rushed for such good issues to cover and that due to wishing they had been addressed over the last 5-10 episodes they crammed it all in such that Chloe did seems to yoyo some emotions that would\'ve better played out over a few episodes. But this SV writing bullpen has no consistency or persons helping with continuity.

God now you remindedmethat Clark STILL is a shitbag about Lex in the writers having him justify being a dick to Lex by saying he was too far gone before Clark started really giving him the shaft. (a 2 fisted one at that)
I can see the whole Tess seeing Jesus/Judas fantasy as setting up the chessboard players to include her kidnapping Chloe because she knows Chloe's old MF power from the BlackCreek files was the ability to resurrect. That unlike Davis being able to regenerate for Clark to do so after defeating Doomsday Chloe is needed as his resurrector.

Although I expected to find the Chloe/Davis hand/glass scene very touching, all I could think of was Kirk and Spock in The Wrath of Khan. "The needs of the many..." SW and AM had mad chemistry in this episode, though.
It's been said many times, but SW is almost...hypnotically pretty. I wasn't even paying attention to the plot half the time; SW is just that beautiful.
