Woo hoo?
I guess. Sorry to see Holly leave but of the bottom three I knew she'd be the first one called gone. Just as I knew tonight Cheryl/Gilles would be the first called safe.
I am sorry to see Holly go. However with the Woz out of there I think I actually like every single remaining duo (and one of the just departed duos). And that's a first.

I think the fact that Woz went is good. I'm not sure about Holly, I think Steve-O needed to leave before her.

Holly came to this show as a last minute replacement and behaved with class and dignity the entire time. The judges wrote her off very early on. I'm proud of her for her attitude and I wish her the best. She has nothing to be ashamed of for her time on the show.
I wasn't expecting Woz to go this early, but I think the arrogance became too much for some. He probably would have lasted a few more weeks otherwise. Then again, maybe it's better to be yourself, I don't know.
Why did Chuck have that look on his face when Steve-O and Lacey were joking around?

Chelsie, Julianne, Lacey, Derek and ????

I think Karina's dress backfired last night.
It may have been a sort of OTT fun statement but it sort of came across as an FU to me. Not fun.

Maybe some of the people mass-voting for Woz finally did watch the show!
I am thrilled he is gone. Holly or Steve O? I could flip a coin over either of them really. They have both been trying, and they both suck.

Mar 31, 2009 @ 9:08 pm
I was thrilled with the result. In the end Holly wasn't going to get close to the finals, and since I like Steve-O more and find his and Lacey's dancing more entertaining, i'd rather they stayed.
I loved the "Let it Rock" dance and also the Boyz II Men dance, the VW, not so much. VW is my absolute favorite dance but I found that one lacking. I think it's because the pros talked to each other and sung along the entire time. I hate that. I like soft and romantic VWs and it's not convincing when you're grinning and holding a conversation.
Also, when can we fire Carrie Ann and hire Artem? Seriously, that's a great trade.

Artem Chigvintsev was the fifth with Chelsie, Julianne, Lacey and Derek. Though I'm not sure how much of a "demo" for paso that was.
Urs is a dead ringer for Louis from far away - too bad they didn't show much of him or of Aliona during the Viennese Waltz (which kicked some serious ass).

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo hoo! Bye, Woz! Don't let the door hit you in the hard drive!
Ok, now that that's done...
Seriously, I'm disappointed about Holly (and if ever there was a week a couple could have used a dance-off, this was probably it). But I'm thrilled Wozniarrogant is gone. Just thrilled. And until tonight, I didn't realize that I'd be a little sad to see Steve-O go. I really hope he does well next week...if only to show that he can.
I LOVED the pro demos - all 3 were so much fun. And I can't help it - I still adore Boyz 2 Men. Even missing one Boy2Man, they're just great and seeing them tonight brought back wonderful memories.
Um...can Samantha have laryngitis every week? Please?

I couldn't catch the results show, but after coming here, am very glad to hear of Woz's departure. A bit sad to see Holly go, though. I would've preferred Steve-O to leave before her. Nothing against Steve-O, but I just see room for improvement in Holly and not so much with him.

Did anyone else get the sense that the people most relieved by Holly and Dmitry's exit were Holly and Dmitry? Those two do not seem to like each other at all. Well, I guess Dmitry won't be partying at the Playboy Mansion anytime soon.

I didn't think I would be so disappointed to see Holly go, but I am. She was fresh and although she really wanted to do well, brought an easy going air to show that I really enjoyed. What a bummer.....and who the hell is voting for Steve-O? God, is he like banging half the voters or what?!?!

I thought Holly seemed pretty happy to go too so I can't get upset over that one. Likely Steve-O will follow them next week. The eliminations are going about right IMO. I don't much care the order of the oustings in the early going since none of these people were long for the show anyway.
I'm just happy there was no dance off.

I am glad that Steve is gone. I don't know that I would have preferred Holly to stay over Steve-O, but I wish she could have stayed at this point. For me, once Lawrence and Edyta were safe, the only question was which couple out of tonight's Bottom 3 and David & Kym were going to be safe. Naturally, David & Kym were announced last before the Bottom 3...so maybe the show does know how to play me :D. I also didn't miss the Danceoff this week, not only because I am afraid it might have been handled awkwardly with three couples, and just because I hate that format.

I'm sad about Holly but agree there was a weird vibe with her and Dmitry. Last week, they were soooo lovey-dovey and this week, quite a chill in the air. And she didn't react the way I would have expected for someone who did well in dress rehearsal and then screwed up on the night. I think she probably should have emoted more -- like Steve the week before when he looked so visibly upset that he screwed up (though I think he was lying and trying to hide the fact that he'd reinjured his ankle and maybe his back as well during the dance - maybe he didn't want for people to think he was too hurt to continue and not vote or something??) Anyway, she didn't play that hand the way so many before her have - by getting visibly upset in order to get the sympathy vote. Maybe she was in such pain, and tonight as well, that she was just ready to go. His reaction I don't understand - I think maybe he was extremely disappointed, couldn't get upset/angry, and was just trying to squelch his emotion... Oh who knows, but I sure want him back!! He looked fabulous with Kym. She's kinda tall and overwhelms some of the other male pros -- so there's a reason to keep him! Yeah, I know Tony and Maks, but anyway, there's room for Dmitry too, if they want to keep him, esp if the golden triplets are off to greener pastures (so they dream)
Ha Ha Ha to Jewel. I've gotten such mixed feelings from her but more than once, I've felt she might be an egomaniac. Well, good old Tom announces -- "Jewel just told me to move because I was blocking her shot" -- and ah, he did it so deftly, with a sweet amusement in his voice, but he might as well have screamed "She's a BEEYOTCH !!!!!!!!!" Anyway, I still love ya, Jewel, but I'm taking notes and I have a feeling, if she does come back next season, she might be like Jane Seymour or Marie Osmond and show her not-so-lovely side to the world. She's trying to get pregnant anyway, so I'm not sure she's coming back.

Still love Boyz II Men! Brings back great memories.
As much as I didn't like the dance-off, it would have been nice to see Holly/Dmitry...maybe they would have done better.
And did Chuck really believe he had a standing ovation? I don't remember people standing up for their dance. Gosh he annoys me.

I'm so happy that Woz and his arrogant manner are history on this show. He was being a joke. The voters got it right.
Holly was a bad dancer and so is Steve-O. I think for the sake of Steve-O's health he should have been eliminated. It's not fun watching someone dance while they are hurt and in pain along with having no dancing skill. But I'm sure Steve-O will be gone next week.
The Pro dancing segments was very well done and entertaining.

I am a huge fan of Tom's, but tonight he was seriously bugging me with his inside jokes. He said something to Bruno along the lines of "what are you doing?" and the viewers had no idea what he was talking about. Then he made the reference to Gilles not being in his spot, although the viewers didn't realize that Gilles wasn't there. The he shouted "you're welcome!" to someone (one of the judges?) immediately after coming back from commercials.
Viewers don't like to feel as though they're out of the loop, especially if everyone else seems to find something funny. Like I said, I love Tom, but I think he needs to rein in the inside jokes a bit before he starts alienating viewers.

I'm voting for Steve-O and Lacey until there gone so long as Chuck and LT are still around. They may be technically better but they are either annoying and boring or boring altogether. Once they leave, I wouldn't vote for them any longer since the remaining couples are sufficiently better/entertaining.

Damn damn damn! I get home from work, right after the results show, to find that both Woz (Holy shit! Yay!) and Holly (NO! Boo!) are gone. I don’t know why I somehow didn’t see that coming. I thought I would lose Holly (and Dmitry) and whoever the other couple was, and be stuck with Woz for weeks to the point where I’d feel ill watching the whole show knowing he was still there. I think I would have kept Woz if it meant keeping Holly. Damn, I’m pissed. And no dance-off? Holly didn’t get a chance to redeem herself, even if just for herself? I normally hate the dance-off, but….I am so going to grumble about this. To myself, I guess. Hmph.
At least I have Boyz II Men to look forward to on ABC.com tomorrow when I can finally watch the results show. And Dmitry danced sometime tonight? Maybe that will make me feel a little better.
Grumble.

Wow we asked for an enchore dance and we got it. We asked not to have a dance off (although I guess it may be back when they go back to eliminating one person at a time Boo!) and we got our wish. Thanks show. Between this and yesterday's actually providing of you know TANGO MUSIC for the frikkin AT, you are finally returning our love.
So glad to see Wormy go. I couldn't believe I actually liked Holly. I found her to be much less of a whore than Kim Kardasian. I kind of wish she'd gotten to do the AT correctly. The choreo did look kind of interesting as opposed to the Steves' dances that I couldn't care less about.

Especially based on Steve-O's being in the Bottom Three this week, what's the betting that that couple and Lawrence & Edyta will be in the Bottom Two next week? I would be surprised if they aren't, unless the Dance Gods show us their mercy and dump Chuck & Julianne there (which I don't think will happen).
Before evaluating this, are we sure that Steve-O was the third-from-the-bottom couple? Since there was no Danceoff this time, they could have played the "not necessarily bottom" trick on us to galvanize Steve-O's supporters into voting or something.

The encore is back for this week. So great to see Gilles and Cheryl repeat the AT. I'm thankful Woz is finally gone! Poor Holly falling off her stool and losing it for the dance sealed her fate. Lawrence didn't seem very happy when he and Edyta were safe. I hope he's not going to start disliking the experience because he does have some potential.
I like everyone left this season, with one exception, and most of them are good to superb performers. I haven't enjoyed DWTS this much in years. Everything seems to be clicking into place. I hope it lasts!
Isn't it hilarious that we had representatives of all four seasons of SYTYCD tonight?

She really had a great attitude and never bitched about scores. I would prefer to see her stay over Steve O, but Woz left and Holly/Dmitry seemed fine with their departure so I can live with the result.
Three pro dances tonight and I loved all of them. Three great pro dances and no dance off or Macy's Stars of Dance. Huge improvement.
Oh Boys II Men, still a fave and brings back so many memories. Loved hearing them sing "End of the Road" but hated hearing the band's butchered rendition as the exit song. It just sounds much worse after hearing the Boys II Men sing it. I think Wanya from the group expressed interest for DWTS once.

Darn, I wanted Steve-O to go because it seems like he is too scared to continue competing. I really got the vibe that he wanted to go.
And what was up with Lawrence being so bitter about the judges? I thought he was appropriately scored, but he took the constructive criticism so negatively.
And Steve Wozniak - I thought gave a very nice comment about Holly at the end. I didn't really notice his arrogance on the show alone. I know that his blog told a different story though.

Fortunately, I missed the confessionals, especially with Chuckie-boy. Did he really say that? He should know that beggars can't be choosers. If he dance without whining or complaining, then he should be fine. I don't know why, but I kinda feel sorry for Julianne for putting up with him.
Other than that, I do like the rest of the cast, except I do think it's time for Steve-O to go home as well. And probably LT...he just doesn't look happy there. Seeing LT makes me miss Emmitt, Warren and even Jason Taylor. I thought they were all better than him.

Chuck finally said something funny during his interview though I can't remember what it was.
When they'd been scored, Bruno said he wanted a pizza, but just crispier, and in the confessional, Chuck went "I'll bring you a crispy pizza, if I could just get a NINE!", and beside him, Julienne piped up "Or an 8!"
I'm thrilled with the painfully obvious Woz elimination, and bummed about Holly. She wasn't great, and she was by no means Top 5 material, but she seemed to enjoy it, and she was trying hard. Steve-O, on the other hand, seems to enjoy it, but seems to just get more injured and/or lost the harder he tries. :(

LT does not have the personality like Emmitt and Warren or the improvement in the dancing. But dance wise, I feel like he is similar to Jason Taylor. I wasn't a fan of Jason Taylor and to me did not embrace DWTS and have as much fun as Warren and Emmitt did. Jason was just younger and hotter than LT. Of course, milage varies.
I wondered if LT's bitterness in the confessional had more to do with Len's 5. He is not top tier but he isn't only one point better than Woz (going on Len's scores only) either IMO.

Chuck said eight, Julianne said or a nine, Chuck said or a ten - throwing it out there.
They don't bother me. I was expecting them to have incredible entitlement issues. But at this point I don't see it. I see the judges having greater expectations than I think they even have. They can't be conspicuously saying "eh - who cares!" when they get a bad critique or score, they have to front like they're still contending -- but for the most part I think they are going with the flow, doing their best, being good enough sports and serving as a reliable mid-couch cheering section. No more cutesy lap perching that they did at first. And Chuck isn't striking me as AS big a douche as I thought he'd be. He's not wearing as thin as I thought he might, and he does seem to have reasonably good sense of humor, instead of that thin-skinned frat boy asshole humor I thought he'd have.

Awwww - thanks so much MadMom! That was so sweet of him -- he moved up a few notches in my estimation after that. I'm so sad that she may have had a breakthrough dance and slipped at the start and got rattled. That may explain Dmitry's demeanor -- I did hear him say somewhere, on the show or an interview, that it happens, even to pros, but when you really think you've got a chance and then, in a split second, see it crumble. That's SO sad!
