WTF to Bethenny from RHoNY in the audience.
Woot woot to seeing Kim Coles and Kathy Griffin. Like them both.
The female dancers are all beautiful (Lacey's just ok). Glad to see Chelsie from SYTYCD in the mix. And of course Cheryl's has always been hot to me.
Lil Kim is the main reason I'm watching. Yes, it's hard to look at her face, but I just find it so hard to believe she's actually here and doing pretty good so far.

Somehow, I knew the final two spots would go to Melissa and Gilles. Overall, this week was better than the last. DAG is surprising me and not in a good way. I'm really digging Lil Kim and Shawn. Oh, and Gilles if I ignore Cheryl LOL.
I am so over Melissa, by the way. Soooo over. Can't even explain. I'm getting a "She loses on The Bachelor but wins on DWTS!" vibe. Be right back; rolling my eyes. Too bad the days of shocking eliminations are over. Would love to see her given the boot. [/mean and not caring]

Well, Steve-O was right about one thing: he made show history tonight. Too bad it cost him a worse back injury on account on a non salsa routine.
Dear Gilles: marry me or introduce me to that guy who is obviously related to you that was in the audeince. Even though this show is too hung up on Superman (bonjour, Cameron's paso doble!), it's clear that "he's got no fan base!" no longer exists. I think this guy can possibly win it all. And I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying Lil Kim and Melissa. The rest of the field need to start stepping up their game....except from the Woz, who needs to go. He's not doing his foot any favors.

This week was underwhelming. So many were absolutely forgettable.
Ty is so cute. It was nice to see him do so much better this week. You can’t help but root for him and I’m really enjoying him with Chelsie. So far I’m digging her inclusion. I liked her on SYTYCD, but wasn’t an uber fan, but she’s doing a good job. The opposite of cute? Chuck. I’m not feeling him. It’s not even the whole Julianne partnership, but I’m sick of the guys who are afraid of looking feminine. His jokes aren’t funny. I’m also glad they called them on the fact that the dance was all Julianne. I’m not sure Julianne is even trying anymore and Chuck would probably do better with a different partner.
I was also surprised in Kym’s routine for DAG. Just because it was another routine all about the pro and Kym doesn’t usually resort to that. Even when she has a lesser partner.
Shawn proved to me tonight that she is indeed not a ringer and I mean that as a compliment. I thought she was adorable, but it’s obvious she’s still not quite all there in the letting it go department. But I think it will be fun to watch her get there and I think she will get there. Still one of the better routines of the night and Mark does have the advantage of being able to use her flexibility.
Lil Kim really has all the goods. I enjoyed her performance tonight and she’s another one that will be fun to watch because I think she will have an improvement arc. She is one of the few in this group that knows how to perform.
Melissa is good, but she does need to break herself of the cheerleader habits. She came across as really cheerleaderish to me at times. But I’m waiting for Maks to whine about the 9’s.
I love Gilles. I just do. I was a little concerned at first when the dance seemed slow for a quickstep, but it picked up and it was fun. I know nothing of the technical so I can’t say whether it deserved 9’s or not, but there is no doubt those two work together well. I just hope the injuries don’t get to him.
I’m still calling Belinda for first boot.

I was able to get through the first hour and 40 minutes, but I got a phone call and wasn't able to see the rest of the dances. How did the last couple of dancers do?

Tony/Melissa and Cheryl/Giles were the best couples of the night with the best dances that were spot on. These two couples(Tony/Melissa and Cheryl/Giles) were the bright spot in an otherwise dull night in my opinion. Also both of these couples spark and have nice chemistry. If things continue in this vein then these two couples will be in the finals. I split my votes between these two couples and hope they both go far. I'm rooting for Melissa and Giles.

Julianne? Only Yulia Z can rock the fringe pants. Don't ever wear them again.
The big surprise of the night for me was Ty and boy was it a pleasant one! He was awesome and he got at least half my online votes.

I think Lacey looks better than about half of the pros and way better than most of the "stars". I really can't stand Chelsie, just so much hate.
I'm so sad that Steve-O may be out of it. I was really looking forward to him sneaking up on things. I'm also sad that it's basically the final 3 are already decided. There's very little point to this season right now. Finals is going to be Melissa/Tony, Gilles/Cheryl and Shawn/Mark. Too bad that no one else has a shot and it's only week 2. Oh well, that's what happens when you cast a reigning Gymnast and a ringer that has had a ton of press recently. The only surprise in the list is Gilles so I guess i'm voting for him.
I really don't like DAG on this show. I'm a fan of his but he's not coming across well at all. Kym looks like she can not stand him and the judges are not getting his humor.
I don't like Karina and her funny looking face, so I love how absolutely pissed she seems to have The Woz for a partner. She couldn't give a bigger bitch face if she tried. HATE.
I think that any combination of Belinda/Holly/Woz/DAG/LT are going home tomorrow. I don't think that they have a lot of support and they are not coming across well imo.

Some great dancing, wonderful improvement, and funny! When Ty said he did the "cha" not the "cha cha" because he forgot half the dance, I had to laugh great to see him so much better. When Holly said that her mantra is "Every day is a Holly day," I wished to puke. What an airheaded twit.
Right now, I think almost anyone can take it. I am one of the few who do not find Melissa sympathetic and charming. I will stop watching if that nobody wins. If Bachelor had been on another station, we'd never, ever see her on DWTS.
I hope Steve-O returns, otherwise Gilles will be the runaway winner for the men. But, some of the guys did improve, luckily.
Not sure who my favorites are, probably Shawn and Gilles.

I really don't care for Chuck and Julianne, and I'm tired of hearing about how they're the first! couple! to! ever! dance! together! Really? I didn't get that message until the 10th time it was said.
Gilles FTW!

I don't think this is true yet. It seems that way as of now, but somebody like Lil Kim is still in the game. She has the goods if she can get it all together. But that's been true of many seasons in the past. The frontrunners are front and center only a few weeks in.
I also saw nothing ringer like in Shawn's performance tonight.

They have a number 1 paddle ?

The injuries are beginning to grate. Just teach these people some normal ballroom dances, quit trying to throw in tricks, flips, and throws, and perhaps a few of them will survive a few shows without injury.
I still think Shawn will win, if only because she is the most physically fit.

WTF to Bethenny from RHoNY in the audience.
Thank you! I kept looking at the freaky faced woman behind Tom and wondered if that was Bethany. It was her. *gag*
Also Tom, thank you for pulling out that "1" paddle. Otherwise, I would not have known that they existed. Bruno was a bit cranky, yet again.
Melissa and Gilles are clearly moving ahead. I thought both were great and were the best salsa and quicksteps of the night. I thought Shawn and Lil Kim were the next best salsa and quicksteps. Other than those four, I did not really remember the other dances too much. I like that Shawn and Lil Kim both have performance arcs there. Shawn looked a bit tentative and needs to let go more. While Lil Kim, IMO, looked much better with the quickstep. She is a performer, but she needs to work on polishing off the technique. I look forward to seeing their arc.
That said, WTF to the spray tan folks. Shawn looked way too orange again tonight.
Julianne was working that Yulia inspired fringe pants, but fringe pants should be officially retired on the show. Like Brooke last season, her thong was showing half way through the dance. I like Julianne still, but I am not loving Chuck. I hate male celebs who cannot just embrace the dance. Look at Warren and Emmit, Chuck. I do not find him that charming either.
DAG was my biggest disappointment tonight. I am still hoping Woz goes tomorrow and DAG avoids the bottom 2. Kym's costume though reminded me of the tour waltz. I wanted Kym and Derek to break out and do that v. waltz and spare us some of the dancing.

Mar 16, 2009 @ 9:13 pm
Did anyone else feel as if Chuck was getting a dig in at Derek? I mean why all the "Dancing is feminine, you want me to dance like a girl, like Derek" stuff. If I was Julianne I wouldn't approve of that being directed at my brother and if I was Derek I would not be amused. I don't like Chuck at all. He's a prime example of why some people should just look pretty and stay silent. I also call complete BS on those scores. Their "salsa" was terrible, for most of it Chuck framed Julianne. But they still got a 20, how? I hate the judging.

teevee, my sentiments exactly. Two 9s? Puhleeze. Three 8s would have been generous.
Gilles was wonderful - he and Cheryl deserved three 9s.
Denise = improved.
Holly = not bad.
Maybe Steve-O should consider a career change.

Gilles, Lil Kim and Ty were my favorites tonight. Ty is sweetie and really improved. I wasn't sure Gilles could do it again but he did and he too is a sweetie. Lil Kim is just too funny and cute. I like her and Derek's partnership. Melissa did a good job as well but I am not as into her. Shawn is adorable and sweet but her dance was quite stiff. Julianne is just all about her and is shows SO much in her relationship with Chuck. The dance was terrible and so fake sexy. Also Chuck if Emmittt Smith can shimmy so can you! Dag/Kym and Denise/Maks look so miserable as couples.

First year watcher and I enjoy it so much more than I ever thought I would.
I have to agree with spanana that Belinda will be the first bootee.
Some random comments because I can't remember them all:
I love Shawn, she's the reason my husband and I are watching this year. Rooting for the local girl. She's doing great so far.
Am I the only one who's a little worried that Julianne and Chuck's relationship won't survive this show lol. I'm not too impressed with their dancing.
Jewel's husband(sorry, forgot his name) did great tonight.
Not a big fan of the Bachelor girl, not sure why yet. I didn't think their song and their dance matched very well. But I know next to nothing about dancing, most of the time I think people are doing well and the judges have different opinions.
I absolutely enjoy watching Steve Wozniak dancing, he seems to have so much fun and despite it not being great he makes up by being so enthusiastic.
Totally shallow moment, Gilles is hotttt and their dance was great.
I've never been a big fan of Lil' Kim, but she has completely won me over.

I didn't particularly care for Shawn's dance, and I'm not sure why. I like her, but something about it just felt flat.
In agreement that Ty stepped up tonight. Very nice quickstep.
Loved Gilles hated the song.
I know it was a parody on the Marilyn Monroe number, but I kept wondering when Derek had been named the ambassador from Austria.

Fuck Chuck.
Asshole. He doesn't want to look feminine or dance like a *ewwwww...* girl. Or walk like a *weak* girl.
Cuz girls are so weak and inferior and it would be shameful and demeaning to be like a girl. You just don't want anyone to think you're a sissy or God forbid, gay. Because that's horrible and gross. Fuck you again Chuck.
And Julianne? Shut up. Shut up up up...! Chuck was not "great" he did not do "great" and you did NOT think he did "great".
He had no samba hips at all, and was so concerned about looking like a weak feminine girl that his dancing suffered. He did some hip thrusts that would have been more appropriate at Cancun during spring break. That's what he did Julianne. It was not great.
Also? Fuck you again Chuck for your snide little remark that "we allllll know what Bruno wants....." Yes, Gay Bruno wants you to shake your booty like a "girl" because he's gay and you're so hot Chuck. So condescending. Blech.
Bruno wasn't the only one that called you out on being more concerned about possible embarassment. Len told you to let go too.
Gay panicking little douche. Julianne needs to tell you to get over yourself and stop acting like a whiny toddler and take control of these rehearsals and not worry about hurting your feelings. But obviously she's not going to do that.
Please be booted off soon.
Liked Ty for his improvement and earnestness. And think Belinda is not a very nice person. She seems unpleasant. In the back room shots she hardly clapped for others and looked dead bored half the time. I agree Melissa is getting a "poor dumped Bachelorette - possible DWTS Winner!" edit. Liked Gilles' dance a lot and am pretty meh on the rest of the group. The Apple guy was terrible. Poor thing.....

Bergeron was in top form tonight. What was his line about "reading between the lines" episode of DWTS? Too funny.
I hardly even recognized Melissa when they first showed her. Her hair was seriously terrifying. Plus she was like, five shades darker than last week. Creepy.
Still loving Li'l Kim and still can't stand the Real Life Couple!

I also saw nothing ringer like in Shawn's performance tonight.
I wasn't saying that Shawn was a ringer, sorry if that came across wrong. I think that she's got a leg up, but I do not consider her a ringer. Nastia would be a ringer. Honestly I find it hard to watch Shawn. Every move just still seems like the floor judges are right there waiting to see if she steps out of bounds. It's not fluid, in that back leg lift she did, you could see the balance beam kick up, flare/flex and hold move as sure as if she was back in Beijing. I also don't want her to get "naughty". I found myself a bit squicked by her outfit and some of the chest rubbing with Mark. It's not that she's young, it's that she just SEEMS so young. Makes me feel vaguely weird while watching.
Melissa is the one I can't deal with. How far is bringing in someone who not only has extensive dance training but also has more fresh, current press than 90% of the other stars. It just makes me feel bad for the others.

I mean why all the "Dancing is feminine, you want me to dance like a girl,
Tasya, I did not think it was a dig at Derek but rather a dig at male dancers. That's what bugged. I hate male celebs who pull comments like that. I am guessing Julianne went with Derek since it is her brother. I guess to him the ribbing was okay since it was directed at possibly his future brother in law (we'll see if they survive the show, lol). I doubt he'd be saying that about Maks or Tony. But whether he was saying it about Derek, Mark or Maks, the message is stillt he same. He thinks it is too feminine for him. Shut up, Chuck. I like Julianne, and I know she loves you but Chuck, you are my least favorite Julianne partner. I was annoyed on behalf of all the male pro dancers but hate that shit.
I am liking the season, but I agree Tasya that it looks like the final 3 is set. Gilles and Melissa seem to have grabbed the audience and are pulling what past winners have done. And Shawn, she has a sizeable fan base which I do not think even if a celeb like Lil Kim or Ty improve can overcome.
I like Chelsie and loving her more than I did on SYTYCD. There, I was more impressed by Mark K., her partner. Like Dmitry, I would love to see them again next season.
As one not always loving Tony's choreography on DWTS, I loved the choreography with Melissa tonight.

I agree with the poster who said Chuck Wicks is unfunny. I wanted him to STFU all during his practice video.
Melissa went a little overboard with the hair along with the tan, but really good once again. Gilles was good, but I wish he stuck with green wardrobe reference to krytonite rather than recycling the Superman shirt thing from a past season.
WTF to Bethenny from RHoNY in the audience.
This is where I think social class/social circles come into play in television. Because that woman must be friends with TV producers. She's been in the cast of two reality shows, despite because a self-absorbed ass (at least from what I saw from bits of the Martha edition of The Apprentice and commercials for her other show) and epically ugly. I wish they would have had an "ordinary person" sitting in her seat because I was uncomfortable seeing her ugly mug.

Mar 16, 2009 @ 9:22 pm
What to say? Amused by the new sparkly paddles, and Carrie Ann seems to be making some pretty good comments tonight.
YAAAY Ty and Chelsie! I totally gave a (silent, so as not to disturb my roommate) WOO during their dance. He was so much better, and I was so happy for him – especially after last week.
Dear DWTS Costuming Department – thank you. For making sure Dmitry’s pants fit so snugly, thank you. And Holly looked lovely too. And Oh My God, I thought I was going to lose it, seeing the look on Tom’s face after Bruno made that comment about Holly’s chest. She had a ‘well, duh Bruno’ look, but Tom’s wry look was just too much.
I love DAG. Love his humor, love how much he wanted to work at it, and the effort he put into it. He really is trying. That dance was way too much about Kym, and I don’t know where it came from since he stated he wanted a lot to do.
Jonathan, I like you a lot, but what is it with the WTF poses you make your partners get into?? It was nice to see Belinda try to let loose a little.
Shawn is just the cutest little thing, and it’s obvious where she gets her pinchable cheeks from. But I’m pretty sure I didn’t see any hip action going on. And Bruno – 17 year old girls should not be told to be naughty!
It just hit me that Woz reminds me of a child. A very, very enthusiastic child who hasn’t learned self-restraint and to wait his turn yet. And that costume was one of the more horrible things I’ve seen this year. He is cute with how much he loves the whole process though. Karina’s face does not look happy. I wonder if she knows of all the nerd support going on and thinks her hopes of her knee healing up sooner rather than later are being flushed away on a tide of socially-stunted geekdom? Also – Kathy Griffin sighting!!
Was happy to see LT do better this week, even though I didn’t care one way or the other last week. And Edyta’s costume – I know nothing was going to slip, but I was just waiting for it to happen.
Steve-O: Ouch. And BS on the shaking things up, play it straight for awhile man. If you get clearance from your doctor, that is.
Lil Kim just makes me smile. I really want her to make it far in this competition.
When was Len gyrating? What? Oy.
Melissa and Gilles – not 9 worthy at all. I enjoyed both performances (except for the total WTF?! music choice for Gilles), but they were both over scored. It’s nice to see Tony so happy, but he’s very right about needing to break Melissa of her previous dance habits. And the bitchy Cheryl attitude that has made me grow to dislike her was shown a bit in the rehearsal package, on week 2 no less. And that’s sad, because I really do like Gilles a lot.

It's fairly insulting to all the pro dancers who are male for him to say repeatedly that this move is feminine, and that this is girly and so on. I guess you have to be a good ole country boy to pass his non-girl test. The guy comes off as a complete ass.

Ty is so cute...not a great dancer, but who can help but love him.
I'm over Woz, he was fun last week, not so much this week but I loved Karina's bitch face.
Belinda - Yawn!
David - Yawn again. Kym really seems unhappy dancing with him. I have never seen this in Kym before. Sad!
Wish I could have seen Steve-O really dance, so no comment.
Chuck was forgettable, not horrible, not great.
Denise seems to be improving, and Maks seems nicer...maybe love agrees with him.
Holly does nothing for me at all.
Something about Lawrence gives me the creeps, I have no idea what.
Shawn is some kinda cute.
Melissa is fun to watch, and I am sure she will go far.
I like Lil Kim way more than I ever expected to, and I hope she enjoys a long stay.

Okay, when did the judges get the sparkly numbers paddles? I must be terribly unobservant because this is the first I've noticed the sparkliness. However...
I did catch Nathan Fillion in the audience a couple times. Love him!
Also? Looked like Julianne was having trouble keeping those pants up.
I, too, hope that Steve-O doesn't have to drop out. Surprisingly, I'm liking him, though I'm a bit dismayed he's already at the "Screw what the judges say! Let's impress the audience!" stage.

Asshole. He doesn't want to look feminine or dance like a *ewwwww...* girl.
But how do you really feel about Chuck? I must say he and Julianne aren't clicking on the dance floor and he is more embarrassed about dancing than normal. I remember Jason Taylor had a remark about what his ballplayers must be thinking. He, luckily, got over it. Chuck needs to get over himself and his prejudices or he and Julianne will be tossed out quickly. As much as he's not coming across well, I'd certainly hate to see his relationship with Julianne suffer. He's probably not as bad as some of his comments could indicate.

Julianne is just all about her and is shows SO much in her relationship with Chuck.
This is why I've never liked Julianne,
GoldenWoman. I first felt this way about her late in her first season. I think it has shown in all her partnerships. Loved how the judges finally called her on it. I remember thinking early in her second season that, as great a dancer as she is, the dance was only a stepping stone for her. I figured she was after acting or modelling. Turns out it was country singing. Who knew? Yup, she seems to be phoning it in.
I am thrilled for Cheryl. She is my favorite pro and she's got some mighty fine raw material to mold.

I must admit I'm where there's no DVR and I chickened out when Gilles and Cheryl began. I found out how they did by reading a message board. I'm thrilled and can't wait to see it. I loved their rehearsal footage. Cheryl hasn't been able to just tell it to a partner since Drew, because Gilles gets it. Gilles dances really well and Cheryl is a terrific choreographer, but what tops it off is his charm. He is very very likeable.
Elsewhere, I found the scoring a little political. The only time I synched up with the judging across the board was with Ty. He started out hesitantly but then the audience reacted and his energy and confidence surged. He did some really good stuff, such as the slide at the end. I enjoyed seeing him let go a little bit.
I thought Holly was better than Denise. Holly is very light and I thought Denise was pretty much clinging to Maks, a bit hunched, and had weird facial expressions.
Lil Kym I'm about okay with the scores, she really can sell the character of the dance. Shawn I thought had zero hips much of the time and as such was overscored. She'd get the going in certain spots and then have none.
Melissa - eh. I agree there's something pretty cheerleaderish about her, and pagaent-y. I wouldn't have done nines because there were parts where the transitions were awkward or hesitant. Splitting the difference I'd have done eights. There were parts that were possibly ten and parts that were seven.
Editing to add - Julianne - shape up!!! The rehearsal footage showed trying to teach Chuck, but come the dance there's Julianne dressed up to distract and prepared to deliver her usual one woman show. So tired of it.
DAG and Kym were a mess and I don't like Woz on this show, may the lord strike me dead because I think he's a genuinely nice man. But there's something so oversharing about him, I don't need so many thoughts about himself.

I don't mind ringers. Sabrina and Kristi were favorites of mine. I am just not feeling the Melissa love, in general.
Seriously though I really am loving LK, Shawn, and Gilles. :) Can't say that enough. Hopefully, the first two will show more improvement and Gilles will continue to dance well. All three have a nice combination of personality and dancing ability. For now, I am splitting my votes between LK and Shawn. Don't think Gilles needs them.

I think that he'll back off on this some. Lacey said that after the dress rehearsal he noticed that the dance didn't flow as well and that there wasn't really enough dancing because of all the tricks. That leads me to believe he won't be requesting that kind of routine again. (Side note here, I love how Lacey looks in rehearsal footage, she's so pretty. I hate how much makeup/crazy hair gets piled on at show time)
Was the Woz in tennis shoes? I thought so but I was doing something else while they danced so I may have missed it. I guess this would back up the earlier information that he hurt his foot.

Lil Kim is so fierce. I really am rooting for her.
This whole Bachelor thing just seems so fucking contrived to me. I mean I give that girlfriend props. I think she did great, just I don't know. It's all so networky/hokey/stagey. But, I guess that's ok for DWTS.
Denise did improve this week. I pity Max that he has her for a partner. From watching her reality show on E, she is truly a hot mess.
Giles is just so hot and french and hot. Unless he royally screws up, I definitely think he makes it to the final three.
I'm so pissed about Steve O. I love his whole story: Doing this while doing rehab. I really hope this injury doesn't sideline him for the rest of the season. Lacey is so pretty. Maybe she was so annoying last year based on her interaction with the NSyncer. I really like her this year. God, I'm so shallow.
Belinda Carlisle is so awkward a la Priscilla Presley. She needs to go.

Yep. I'm actually glad, because the ringer! debates are so frustrating and ultimately pointless. Girl is not a ringer. I think Shawn will be dynamite by the time the semi-finals roll around.
I missed the first few dances, but Gilles was easily my favorite of the night. He deserved the pimp spot, though I wish the judges hadn't broken out the triple 9s; he would have been fine without them.
What Lacey came up with was a disappointment. I knew they'd get digned 10 seconds into the dance. Hopefully she'll learn from this misstep, because I do see a lot of potential with her partnership with Steve-O.
I'm am wickedly pleased that the judges took Julianne to task for that self-absorbed mess. I'm less pleased that they still got some "7"s for that.

It's not even the Chuck insulting the male dancers part that gets me. I'm sure they are used to people having that reaction in the real world when they say they dance for a living--or at least more so before DWTS. I'd also give Chuck more leeway if we were on the first season here. But the real reason I have no tolerance for it anymore is due to the sheer number of men who have done this show and proved that there was nothing girly about it at all. Sorry Chuck, but I'd hazard to guess both Emmitt Smith and Warren Sapp are manlier than you and neither seemed to have any reservations about looking feminine. At this point it's just old hat and obnoxious.

For now, I am splitting my votes between LK and Shawn. Don't think Gilles needs them.
Heh! That's what Sabrina's fans thought too! :-)

I thought Chuck's comments were just typical "guy teasing his brother-in-law" stuff. Not a big deal, IMO. He seems to be there to get his name out to a wider audience; he and Julianne don't even ask for votes in their little promo segment.
I think Maks absolutely loathes Denise (not that I blame him one bit). Tony is probably thanking his lucky stars he is suddenly in the running again with a fit, coordinated partner. He hasn't received scores like that since Stacy in season 2.
Gilles was adorable, but he didn't need the glasses/Superman shirt. He can really dance, he doesn't need the props.
Last season, I thought the judges had some sort of personal dislike for Lacey - a suspicion utterly confirmed tonight. Taking her to task for Steve-O's injury was unfair. He's a grown man and certainly has a better grasp of what he's physically capable of than Lacey. Blame her for the lack of salsa steps or the choreography, but don't tsk tsk her for "letting" him do the stunts that led to his injury.
I don't think it's the stunts that are causing this rash of injuries, though. Jewel, Nancy, Steve...none of them were doing fancy stunts when they hurt themselves. Maybe DWTS needs to do an in-depth physical fitness analysis of their potential contestants.

As purty as his unadorned eyes are, I quite liked Glasses!Gilles. Nice dancin' too.

After tonight I'm thinking that we may have the first 3-time DWTS winner, and it ain't gonna be Julianne. Cheryl's got herself a contender.
I liked Melissa's salsa, and I loved Tony's glee over getting a 9 tonight! When's the last time Tony got a 9? Way back to the Stacey season?
First out needs to be Belinda or Woz. Not sure which of those 2 it will be.

WTF to Bethenny from RHoNY in the audience.
Thanks, thought I saw her. Is she taking a timeout from the hanging in the Hamptons?
Then there's Holly from Girls Next Door fame...and soon to be on the Travel Channel dancing with contestant Dmitry from So You think You Can Dance a couple of seasons ago. I found out one of the guys is from the Sex in the City movie, had a bit part didn't even recognize him. What is with this show? Isn't it "Dancing with the
STARS?" Where are they all?

This week Shawn’s costume was too revealing. And not flattering.
I actually kind of like Chuck, and did not take offense about his worry about dancing ‘femininely’ – it’s not like we haven’t heard that on this show before, from both the celebrity and the professional. I don’t, however, care for him and Julianne together – they just don’t stand out for me as a couple.
Denise also continues to be horrible. Way over praised and over scored as well. Why, judges? I also very much get the sense that Maks does not like her, no matter how polite he is to her face. I want her to go.

I thought Chuck's comments were just typical "guy teasing his brother-in-law" stuff.
He didn't even start on the Derek part of that segment until he'd already mentioned twice that he thought various moves made him look like a girl.

I think everyone pretty much summed up my feelings on Chuck. He was so condescending, not funny and not a good dancer. Julianne needs to stop being like, it's okay honey! And start whipping him into shape and not just shimmying around him because he's scared to actually embrace the dance and try it because he might look "girlie" - the perfect example to this is Ty, who WAS worried about how he would look but he TRIED it and found out his friends were actually encouraging him and he put his all into it both weeks. And they're from similar worlds (country boys) so there's no excuse. You just need to let it go if you're going to come on this show - it's not like Chuck has anything to lose, he doesn't have this massive career. I am another one that thinks this relationship won't last past this show - I think she might be seeing another side of him...they don't really seem all the comfortable with each other. It's very strange. Also, how the hell did they get the same score as Lawrence? They praised him up insanely and dissed Chuck...and they got the same score? What the HELL, judges?
I loved Lil' Kim, Gilles & Shawn. Those would be my ideal final three, they were all great and I really look forward to seeing their dances each week. I wish I could like Melissa but there's just SOMETHING about her that I can't like. It's not even that I feel she has an unfair advantage, but I feel like ABC is giving her this show to make up for the Bachelor debaucle and it's not fair to the other contestants. And I feel she was way overscored. I also enjoyed Lawrence, Ty & Holly, I feel like they'll get better as the weeks go by, I look forward to seeing them improve. That's the point of the show! It's nice to see people be great right out of the gate, but it's also nice to see a few fumbles in the beginning and them BOOM! they break out with an amazing dance somewhere in the middle and change the game.
Woz, Denise, Steve-O, Belinda & DAG. I love Woz, but his dancing is awful! Same with Steve-O. I have no idea if Lacey was too influenced by him this week or what happened, but there was no salsa in there at all. It was just horrible. But I have a feeling he'll stay. Belinda did better this week, but still not comparable with the others...I feel like her, DAG or Denise will get the boot. I love DAG and think he's good but the judges REALLY have it out for him. I'm not sure what the deal is. And I loathe Denise, so even though I love Maks and thought she danced well...I would never vote for her. She's crazzzy.
And also:
Then there's Holly from Girls Next Door fame...and soon to be on the Travel Channel dancing with contestant Dmitry from So You think You Can Dance a couple of seasons ago.
It's Bridget that's doing the Travel Channel show...Holly's supposed to be doing some show in Vegas this year apparently. So hopefully her dancing improves, she's going to need it!

Here I go with my table for one comments again: I really didn't care for Gilles' dance. Execution wise, he was good but he's not floating my boat.
I scared my dog squealing because I was so excited about how well Ty did this week. That's pretty much what I love about this show: people getting outside of their comfort zone and dancing! He just made me happy.

wtf?! Superman for a quickstep? That is just so wrong.
That said I love Gilles/Cheryl.
But music choices are killing this show again. The music for Lacey/Steve-O's non salsa was whack too. Not to mention Maks/Denise and the Grease theme.
And Melissa, no matter the press, the ringer and the Bachelor stuff. I just love her. That was a fun dance to watch.
