From Zap2it:
An explosion at LutherCorp [sic] injures Oliver and kills all the board members.

When Smallville does Breaking Dawn, Smallville has major problems.

Vader-Lex made me laugh and then feel sad. Way to make a laughing stock of my favourite character, show. Also funny how Clark is fine with letting Lex live after all the atrocities he's committed. But when he keeps him and Lana apart? He needs to be stopped! Whatever.

Still, I approve of Krypto-Lana. Gets rid of Clana forever (or until another plot device takes all her nifty powers away), though it really undermines Clark’s omgIconic relationship with Lois (ie I’m only with you because I’ll literally be killed if I go anywhere near the woman I REALLY love). But I guess that’s fine with me too since I hate Cnois.

Geezus, the final Clana scene was bawwful. All we needed was a Celine Dion power ballad in the background. Wah.

In fact really, shirtless Oli made the episode for me. Especially when he started obfuscating stupidity :D
missbonnie
Welll its official...I now hate this show.
sarahnicole
Well that's one way to REALLY END the Clana. Make her poison to him. Damn. Also, this Dark!Oliver and PossiblyDark!Chloe is NOT OK. These are not the characters to do this to. WTF?
CantThinkUpName
Good call on the poster who figured the Lana absorbing Kryptonite thing from last week.

I think I need to see that one again to figure out what the hell I think about the issues presented.

When did Lex declare war on Clark?

Fake Lex was useless and unneeded.

Clark really wants sex. But when he kissed Lana at the end, I wanted him to vomit in her mouth like Stan does to Wendy in South Park.
sarahnicole

Also, LEX CANNOT BE DEAD. Way to completely remove this show from any continuity, writers!

I simply can't believe how unremittingly, disgustingly awful that ep was. I knew it would be bad, but that was far worse than I'd feared.

They made us wait this long for a decent Clana breakup and give us THAT?

Who was responsible? I want to KNOW.

Maybe later I'll just be able to laugh at the travesty this ep is, it was so bad. It made "Promise," and even "Power," look almost good. It made S7 look like frickin' GOLD.

Ah, Michael, you were a smart man.
Daystra
So they killed off Lex Luthor. Wow.

What's going on with Chloe, why do I have a feeling Chloe has memories of everything and now she's second guessing everything that happens. Was it Brainiac or was it just her?

Coffe with Lana and Chloe at the Talon then a scene where Lana causes Clark to fall unto his kness (Two side of Isis anyone?)

Vader-Lex made me laugh and then feel sad.

He was more Hannibal Lector crossed with a Breen for my taste.
sarahnicole

That started a thousand TC Clana fanfics. And, I'm totally weirded about by the complete masochism Clark showed there.
goddessrin
So they killed off Lex Luthor. Wow.

I doubt for good. This is Smallville. It's not above plot-devicing and retconning.
wirebiter
Bwahahahahahahahaha. Ollie's nipples were the only good thing about this episode. These are our Heros. Pathetic.

Go Dooms.
Daystra
Good call on the poster who figured the Lana absorbing Kryptonite thing from last week.

I figured it would be full circle too, we even got mention of that graveyard scene.
LaVieDouce
Aaaaaaaaaand this episode sucked.
El Seed
Lana is Clark's kryptonite...because having them separate over reasons like maturity, growing apart, realizing they're wrong for each other, etc. just isn't enough. No, the Clana has to end because Clark can't get near the squirrel. And of course the Clana ends with a barn loft scene. I want that barn to burn to the ground, right after the DP.

So Lana still has her superpowers. Is she going to be saving the world on a regular basis and further the martyr!super!Lana bullshit?

Shirtless and in handcuffs...nice to see the show sticking with its roots.

I was half expecting to see AlMiles on the other side of that camera.
Adela1985
So Oliver tells Chloe he's going to kill Lex. She says it's wrong, Oliver convinces her so. Chloe tells Clark killing Lex is not bad. Clark tells her it's not the option. Clark then decides to go and kill Lex only for Lana to tell him not to do it.

So what the hell was the fucking point of this merry go around.
jediknight
Fuck you, show. What in the blue ratass hell? Way to martyr Lana. She and Clark can't be together because she's krypto-poison. Way to piss all over Lois and Clark. Clark will settle for Lois. Fuck that. And Lana talks Clark out of killing Lex, fuck. Clark the same guy who said a couple of episodes ago that the number 1 rule is, don't kill anybody. The same guy who didn't kill Faelin in "Rogue", and didn't kill the thief in "Vengeance". But since Lex took away the chance for Clark and Lana to be together, he's willing to kill. Of course he also traded a life for Lana's. And Clark can overcome kryptonite to kiss Lana. How the fuck do you screw up the Superman mythos like this?

Oliver actually had a set of balls in his scene with Lana. But since he called Lana out on the fact she took Lex's chance for survival, he had to kill Lex. Because the one guy who calls Lana out, has to be a murderer. At least Oliver's scenes were good this week.

I knew I should have changed the channel when it opened with Clana sex breaking the bed. It was nice to see Vincent, but I kind of feel like Cartman after he saw High School Musical.
wwg23
What contrived nonsense! I'm going to pretend Lex knew Lana was power hungry and arranged for her to find out about the suit and believe she'd be killing Lex if she took it. Lex made to suit to absorb Green K and Lana and Clark fell for his diabolical plan (well as diabolical as is can be considering it's keeping two masochistic idiots apart).

Ollie - whatever. But for Ollie to question whether Chloe actually killed Sebatian - what an ass.

This episode did no one any favors. Fail. Epic Iconic Fail.
Chlark10
Not to go against you all...
But I enjoyed it. I thought it was written beautifully.

I don't know. I guess it's because it took something from the BEGINNING of Smallville... and ended it tragically. The full circle with the necklace, and the mention of the Pilot convo... It was like watching a chapter close from the beginning when the show was still fairly good.. The Kryptonite Kiss marked the death...

And I hate Clana.
But that's just IMO...
Adela1985
At least AlMiles got the Clana ending they always wanted "a bitter tragedy". Lois is really fucked after this whoever she is.
FreddyO
Please, Dear God, let this show end!!!! What a load of crap this series has become. I don't really care about the Clana ending the way it did. Since I no longer believe Chlois is going to be the end game this is actually hilarious because there will now never be any honest to goodness Clois without the spectre of Clana all over it. Any relationship with Clark will be sloppy seconds from now on. Nice job, PS3.

And what the heck is up with Oliver? We know Lex didn't die, but the point still holds that he's ok with being a murderer. Geesh. And Chloe is playing with the dark side as well. This show is truly hideous at this point.
cagewench
I am so disappointed that they couldn't just have Lana and Clark realize that they could not/should not be together instead of this crap.

So, is it Clark or Lana who = Peyton on OTH ("everybody leaves")

Seriously?

But -- yeah, Clark is lame as hell if he takes Nois as his rebound.

And the final kiss scene was both lame and gross.
Daystra
What I don't understand, Clark's a freaking reporter, now. He got evidence linking Lex in killing his own board members, and attempting to murder Oliver, you telling me, he couldn't try to imprison Lex?

Is it just me or is bringing Justice via facts, and through the legal system/ jail is no longer an option since Chloe was fired from the DP?
Adela1985
This shows whole moral compass is fucked especially Clark. He tells Chloe killing is wrong but goes off and tries to do it anyway because he can't fuck Lana anymore.

Shit at least Chloe would have reason because Lex has done some horrible shit and not stupid shit like being ripped from your tuv luv.
Daystra
And Chloe is playing with the dark side as well.

You would think she'd be in Star City with her husband...

I don't know, Chloe this episode, I don't think it's dark-side, I think it's more like "What's happened in my life" I think Brainiac made a much larger impact to Chloe then one realize, I can't help but sense she's struggling internally. I mean, what Chloe's been through sort of reminds me of the ST:TNG episode Family where Picard breaks down crying talking about how the Borg used him to kill and he wasn't strong enough blah blah,

And I wonder if they are leading Chloe to have this moment, unless of course they drop it.
El Seed

I'm guessing to show that Lana is a font of wisdom, Adela. Of course, when she wants to kill him it's all fine and dandy. When someone else wants to kill evol-lite, well, it's wrong, because Lana says so. Damn it, I want Superman to stand by the conviction that killing is wrong, not be convinced of it by the Pink Squirrel. Thanks for turning Lana into Clark's guide PS3...fuck you.

Oliver actually had a set of balls in his scene with Lana. But since he called Lana out on the fact she took Lex's chance for survival, he had to kill Lex. Because the one guy who calls Lana out, has to be a murderer. At least Oliver's scenes were good this week.

I was expecting Oliver to die. Calling Lana out? Blasphemy! The rest of the Oliver and Chloe stuff? I'm not really sure where they're going to take this, and I probably won't like it.
cmirk01
I can't believe I'm actually crying here. The show is officially dead to me.They finally went past the point of no return for me. Chloe a fuckin killer?!!! Oliver threatening "watchtower". Clark mentions having always wanting to have had a partner and finally founding one in LANA

I'm......done.

After eight years, this is how it ends. I can't belive this is it.

Goodbye Smallville
screamin
LEX CANNOT BE DEAD. Way to completely remove this show from any continuity, writers!

Bah, Lex has no doubt a bunch of cloned corpses stashed away for eventualities. But I am rapidly ceasing to care.

Something in this episode to enrage everyone. Clana fans are disappointed. Clark is made to seem a dolt. Chloe goes deep into moral ambiguity for no particular reason - and it's not even interesting moral ambiguity. Lois fans are told that Clark will only end up with her because she's NOT kryptonite contaminated. There's still a certain fascination to it all, but only trainwreck fascination at this point.

Poor Omar.
Daystra
Shit at least Chloe would have reason because Lex has done some horrible shit and not stupid shit like being ripped from your tuv luv.

I think this justify why she isn't sorry he's gone, but the fiber in her being knows how he's gone was wrong.
jch323
I've only recently started watching Smallville again after pulling out some old DVDs I had not watched in years, and as bad as this episode was, I give it an A+ for getting rid of Lana. I just wish they hadn't made Chloe so wishy-washy.

Also, LEX CANNOT BE DEAD. Way to completely remove this show from any continuity, writers!

First of all, there's no chance Lex is really dead. We'll see that the second they convince MR to come back for even one scene. As far as continuity goes, the second they based the show on Clark and Lex being best friends, the show was strictly Elseworlds territory.
kenm
Blech. Gaakkk! Ptui!

Sorry. That last barn scene gave me the dry heaves.

So what the hell was the fucking point of this merry go around.

Obviously, the point was to make it clear that Lana is the true moral centre of...uh oh.

Blech. Gaakkk! Ptui!
Adela1985
I think this justify why she isn't sorry he's gone, but the fiber in her being knows how he's gone was wrong.

I pretty much agree which is why that final Chloille bit didn't annoy me. She was sorry the way Lex went out but not sorry he did.
Yaypie
Omar, I hope they up your salary after this one.
wwg23
I guess it's because it took something from the BEGINNING of Smallville... and ended it tragically. The full circle with the necklace, and the mention of the Pilot convo... It was like watching a chapter close from the beginning when the show was still fairly good..

This would have worked had Lana actually been portrayed throughout the series as being good-hearted and caring. She wasn't. She's a lying, scheming, murderous, betraying, blackmailing bitch. The ending didn't fit the history between them.

And Clark's an obsessed, lobotomized idiot. JMHO.
GoalKeeper1
What can you say after that?

The good:

-it was better than Power (who the hell did Allison piss off to get stuck with that crappy script?)

-Shirtless Ollie. He looks almost as good as shirtless Davis.

-Lana is GONE!

-Brainiac's killing of Sebastian was not forgotten about (it was Brainiac, not Chloe). Point for continuity.

-Toyman was fun to watch. One of the more successful introductions of a DC character this season. I hope they bring him back if they get another season.

-No Nois to make things totally suck.

The bad:

-All the Clana scenes. My eyes are forever scarred by that first scene.

-No Delete rematch in what is potentially KK's last episode. Not cool. Of course, since Lana has powers now, it wouldn't be a fair fight.

-Those bastards killed "Lex". But I guess just because a character is ICONIC, as Lex is, it doesn't mean they can't be killed, which leaves hope for Nois dying.

-St. Lana once again being the "hero". Gag me.

-Ollie basically blackmailing Chloe into first going behind Clark's back, then keeping what he did a secret. This guy is supposed to be a hero?
Firebunny
Why is it that I watch this show?
nemo
I DO NOT CARE about more Smallville continuity errors, other canon meshing or Smallville's dumb points still in this ep. If they keep Lex dead after this, I may just have a happy note to leave the show with. Yes - HAPPY!

Despite making him silly in plan and deed tonight there is so much fanwank potential. Taking out his corrupt company. Taking Lana away from Clark but leaving her impowered. Doing so because with his suit gone he was going down anyways. If Lex stays dead he can still go out anti-hero style imo which is far better than I thought would happen and is happening to every other character.

And OMG the CLEX!!!! From Clark even, cause just look at him when the truck blew and with the hand. EEEEEE

Chloe is sooo very capable of murder for Clark's protection confirmed. LOVE

Clark and Lana had a contrived get together and parting like usual and Lana will be Clark's always love. FINE

Ollie is a murdering ass. NEVER THOUGHT OTHERWISE

But they kept it CLEXY. Miracles do happen.
Yaypie
Firebunny, it had the potential to be great. Past tense now.
Chlark10

Very true. Trust me, I'm not saying this was the logical ending with everything that's happened since mid-S5 Clana/Lana. I know it'd have been more "correct" to have Clark realize everything she'd become, and moved on. I completely agree with all of this.

I guess I'm just a sucker for tragic endings.
Daystra
Ollie basically blackmailing Chloe into first going behind Clark's back, then keeping what he did a secret. This guy is supposed to be a hero?

Point for continuity

They lose a point for continuity. Didn't Clark mention to Oliver, that he erased her memory of his secret? Shouldn't Oliver still believe Chloe doesn't know Clark's secret?
wirebiter
Why is it that I watch this show?

Lana obviously, isn't that why everyone watches?

Praise be to Lana.
acampbell
Trust me, I'm not saying this was the logical ending with everything that's happened since mid-S5 Clana/Lana.

That's for damn sure. SV and LOGIC? Not a natural pairing.

I've only recently started watching Smallville again after pulling out some old DVDs I had not watched in years, and as bad as this episode was, I give it an A+ for getting rid of Lana.

And, you know, even now, I don't trust it to be for good. KK made noises about "coming back for the finale." She could change her mind and come back any time, and they could just say: "Oh, I found some doctor that figured out how to neutralize the kryptonite in my system." Then she and Clark could have some more bed-breaking sex.

I don't trust this show for crap any more. There's no bottom to the depths to which it can sink.

But they kept it CLEXY. Miracles do happen.

A glimmer, yes. But then they had to go crap on it by having Clark flip-flop and go running to kill Lex, only to be dissuaded by Almighty Lana.
Adela1985
And also how the hell did Oliver even think to go looking at video footage of Chloiac killing Sebastan. It seemed so out of left that I'm left wondering when Oliver found out.

Did he found out sooner? If even found out just that day, how the fuck did it occur to him what Chloe had done before.

It was so fucking contrived, I just laugh.
Nostariel
What the shit was that?

Really, show? Really? I love how this craps all over any relationship Clark might have in the future. I love how Lana is a far better superhero than Clark is. I love the insinuation that Chloe is a murderer for reals. I love that we got to see the shit-tastic Fake!Lex before they killed him off. I love that Ollie is still an amoral douche.

And by "Love" I mean "Hate with the fire of a thousand suns".

The final kiss made me throw up in my mouth a little.

CLANA4EVA!! Apparently. God, I hate this show.
Daystra
And also how the hell did Oliver even think to go looking at video footage of Chloiac killing Sebastan. It seemed so out of left that I'm left wondering when Oliver found out.

My guess is, maybe he was trying to erase the medical video files of him caring the toy, since Chloe discovered it, someone else might have?

I think the reason why Oliver questioned Chloe was he saw Chloe use her Brainiac ability in Bloodline, and think maybe she did it again.
wwg23
Chloe is sooo very capable of murder for Clark's protection confirmed. LOVE

I believe that under extreme duress Chloe could kill for Clark but not in the cold-blooded way Brainiac killed Sebastian.
Adela1985
I think the reason why Oliver questioned Chloe was he saw Chloe use her Brainiac ability in Bloodline, and think maybe she did it again.

But then I still left wondering how he thought to look up hospital video footage in the first place.

Honestly, Oliver is an asshole because he played on Chloe fears that she might have really killed Sebastain. He only did that to make her doubt her stance on killing Lex so he could feel better about himself.
Denebola
Wow. What a great episode of Justin Hartley's Torso. It totally dominated that scene where Lana and Clark showed up at the hospital. I kinda felt bad for TW and KK, because there was no way they could out-act that bronzed chest. Kudos to that thing. Toymaker was blah, he ended up just sort of being a thug with an Iconic name. Nobody even really cared that he got away. The dude playing him looked really familiar though. He'll probably be back.

I know I'll get sneered at for this, but I have never enjoyed the character of Oliver Queen more than I did in this episode. He lied to Clark and Lana, manipulated Chloe, killed Lex, (pssht, right) and then basically blackmailed Chloe into not revealing that he is a murderer. And while I don't believe that Chloe was responsible for Sebastian's murder, I can see why she would feel guilty for it. It's weird that the people on this show feel guilty for things they didn't do, but no one ever acknowledges when they've actually fucked-up of their own accord. Dark!Oliver had better get pimp-smacked by Clark, and Chloe had damn well better be let off the hook for the Sebastian thing. I just hate that Clark, Oliver and Chloe are paralleled as psychos who KILL for LOVE, but Lana's a fuggin' angel. Thank God she's gone. Don't FUBAR your new plotline with any more Lana appearances, show. But I wonder, could a Chlionel-esque storyline be on the horizon for Chlollie?

Also, was I the only one giggling over Lana's weird looks at Oliver? I kept imagining that she was suspicious as to why Oliver was so comfortable, and why Clark had absolutely no reaction to half-naked Ollie. Almost as if they were used to it...
My eyes are forever scarred by that first scene.

Oh, why did you have to remind me of that? I just used up the last of my brain-bleach from watching it the first time. Gross.
wwg23
"Requiem" - the death of SV and Superman.
kitmerlot
This could be a set up for a powerful emotional arc for Chloe, at least an episode plot line revolving it, like Family was for Picard after the events of The Best of Both Worlds, to where she questions what was her and what was Brainiac, and I think this drives a deeper issue for Chloe, was her marriage to Jimmy Brainiac induced her or too. Is her being at Isis, her decision or Brainiac's.

That would be a wonderful thing to see--Chloe finally having a real, human reaction to all of the crap she's been through this season. If there was ever a scene like that, I could forgive PS3 alot, especially if Chloe is overcome by her fear and guilt about what she might have done while being infected by Brainiac. I think that would be a very powerful moment for Chloe and her fans.

Also, was I the only one giggling over Lana's weird looks at Oliver?

Honestly, I think she was stunned that Oliver didn't fall out of his hospital bed to pay her homage for her sheer awesomesess and super-poweredness. And she was also confused because he didn't pay her one compliment or tell her how brave and strong she is.
Denebola
Okay, yeah. I can see that too. Lana logic dictates that anyone who isn't curbstomped by her magnificence is up to no good.
