I've had some PMs and other reports, so I wanted to clear this up.

There are very few spoilers for this show. Because it is live, it's tough for spoilers to leak.

The only information that tends to leak beforehand are names of potential contestants (which are usually wrong) and their partners.

During the season, the only spoilers are which dance couples are doing, and to which song. Most people don't seem to care if they know that ahead of time, and the dancers and contestants themselves freely release that information in interviews.

In order to better enforce the spoiler policy, I wanted to find out what you guys consider a spoiler. Please vote in the poll and I'll make an announcement on Friday, February 6th.

I would say: None of the above. Too bad you didn't have that as an option, because I truly believe that only who gets booted every week can be defined as a spoiler if you don't happen to get the East Coast feed.

Other than that, as you said, a lot of what has been regarded as spoilers (e.g. dances, songs etc) is information that is freely released by either the participants themselves or by ABC.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

I agree with ExoticFlowa. The only thing I would consider a true spoiler, as he/she suggested and the general spoiler FAQs seem to indicate, would be the names of celebrities eliminated, and that only until the program has finished airing on the East Coast. Cast lists are mostly speculation until the official announcement is made, and the pros frequently tend to leak the rest of the information (their own participation, upcoming dances, and songs) themselves, and I personally don't mind learning any of that ahead of time; it makes it easier for me to snark in advance on, say, a horrendous music choice.

Of course, I suspect that mileage may vary greatly here.

Shoot, I should have put none of the above. Let me see if I can fix it now.

Also, the East Coast thing -- our site's policy has long been that once a show airs on the East Coast, it's not a spoiler anymore. So West Coasties who don't want to know should know by now to avoid the forums until the show airs where they are.

Ditto all the posts above. The only spoilers for this show would be finding out who gets eliminated before the results air on the east coast.

I don't consider song choices, dance styles, outfit spoilers, or rehearsal footage spoilers..

ITA with the above.. only Bottom 2/Eliminated Couples would be spoilers.

I thought when I reset the poll to add the None of the Above option, you would be able to vote again. Sorry if that's not the case, but there were only 7 votes at the time and looking at the results thus far, I don't think that number will sway the results.

I agree with many of the previous posters that only the identity of the people being eliminated consitutes a "spoiler" for me for this show. I consider a spoiler to be anything that significantly diminishes my enjoyment of the show by ruining its surprize factor. Knowing what dance they perform, their costume choice, the song they perform to and the musical guests that might be there does not diminish my enjoyment of the show in any way. The only suspense is in the elimination itself.

Look for a clarification of the spoiler policy announcement tomorrow or Tuesday -- I'm letting votes go a little longer although the results seem pretty clear.

To me, spoilers = who was eliminated, AND when something VERY unexpected happens such as someone getting injured, falling, fainting, or dropping out of the competition before it has been announced.

Agree with applecruncher. The only show-related spoiler is who gets eliminated. The only "plot" spoiler is something terribly unexpected that changes the "story" for the week.

Well I live on the West Coast and get the results much later then everyone else, so a spoiler for me would be who gets eliminated.

Okay, we're going to go with the policy that the only spoiler is who gets eliminated, and since it's a live show, that's a spoiler that rarely happens. The site's policy has always been that once something airs on the East Coast, it's no longer a spoiler, so you non-East Coast people will have to stay off the forums until the show airs in your time zone, as per usual with any show we cover.
