I can't tell you how much I loved Brooke just absolutely bombing on her first dance. That was awesome. Oh, shut up, she's not going to get voted off tomorrow, so I can enjoy little Miss Perfect falling from grace.
Poor Cody. I think he's toast. I missed Edyta. Julianne is just too much like Cody for them to work well together.
When I saw Lance with his mohawk hairdo, I said, "When did Kady Lang join DWTS?" Did anyone else see the resemblence?
Warren's first dance was terrible, and it wasn't scored as such. I get he's a big bundle of joy, but there wasn't anything to that first dance.
I only caught part of Brooke's next dance before I switched channels, but fringe pants? Not a good look...
Very disappointed in the semi-finals.

Re: the Brooke and Derek jive....well...he was completely outdancing her. She was tentative, out of her depth -- and they ended way behind the music. I felt sorry for her because you could see the panic in her eyes. The salsa was much much better but I couldn't focus on the dance because Brooke's pants were uuuuuggggglllllyyyyy.
Warren's mambo was overscored IMO. I was expecting at least one 7 in there.
I was very chagrined to see Lance at the top of the leaderboard. I wanted him to fall down, dangit! I wanted karmic retribution! (Yes, I'm being melodramatic. Shut up. :P )

I thought Lance did the best dance in round one. Lance/Lacey still bug me though. But I thought Brooke did the best dance in round two. Poor Brooke, her worst dance in the semi-finals. I felt bad for her as she was doing her best and she's not a performer. You could see that panic. While Lance? I was just hoping he fell on his butt. I still do not see the improvement in his dancing. It seems more like dances that suit his style. I was impressed by Brooke's salsa though. After I got past the awful costume though. I know those costumes are quite common on dancesport, but I do not like them there either. Those lifts were great, well placed and she was having fun. I thought Lance's jitterbug was nice, but it seemed slow and I could not help but compare it to Cody and Brooke's. I found the latter's more entertaining. Warren was more of the same, charming and fun. Based on audience response, seems like Warren has this won.
Loved seeing all the celebs in the audience. Kristi (but WTF, did the DWTS hair and make up get a hold of her tonight) and Deborah Gibson!
Poor Cody. The band's rendition of Shiny Toy Guns sucked. Julianne, good luck with your music career. I still love watching her dance.
tip and fall-The karmic payback maybe coming next week. BTW, if you get past the ugly pants, Brooke's salsa was great, IMO.

I was shocked they really called Brooke on her horrible mambo.
Lance and Lacey danced their feet, or shoes, off tonight.
I agree Cody should be the next to go, although all Warren has is his charisma.
Why is it that Warren's shoes don't look like dancing shoes, but more like Master P's shoes.

Carrie Ann, as I saw it both of Brooke's feet were on the floor (they might not have been, I can't go back and look). That has always been your definition of a lift so SHUT. IT. Also, the whole "lift police" thing isn't cute or funny or anything. Let Len call the lifts if they are blatant, otherwise, shut it. And if you're going to yell about lifts, I believe Derek does the choreography, not Brooke, so unless she forced him at gunpoint to put one in or something, you might want to look there.
I always love Len's master class, it's really fun to see him interact with all the couples and he normally does get somethings straightened out. I don't think that I will ever get the image of Warren teaching him that hip shake thing out of my head though, now that it's been seared in.
Also when they introduced the couples I thought for the first time I thought Lacey's outfit was really cute and she looked really good (you know black sparkly dress, fairly demure for ballroom). Until I saw the gift-wrapping bow that apparently exploded out of her back end (and unraveled through the dance). WHY WHY WHY?
And that wasn't even the worst fashion faux pas of the night considering the fact that someone bedazzled Snuffleupagus and made him into a pair of pants for Brooke Burke.
Oh, and pro demos? Is someone out there listening? People tuning in might actually think this is a ballroom dancing show!

Goodbye Cody and Julianne. Carrie Ann desperately wants to get rid of you two so sucks to be you. I can't believe she gave Warren and Kym a 9 for their jitterbug. Her scoring is beyond reasoning and is so biased.
Hate to admit it but that was the first dance of Lance and Lacey's that I liked. My only quibble? That thing hanging out of Lacey's back. What was she supposed to be? A peacock?
Best part of the show: seeing the gorgeous Emmanuelle Chriqui in the audience! The rest of the show was pretty boring.

I think this was the worst semi-final rounds ever. Lance and Lacey were the only real good dancers tonight. Brookes first dance was horrible both in choreo and in performance. The second was much better. Cody was boring in both dances and should be gone. Warren was ok dance wise but performance wise was much better during the second dance. I actually think Warren could be in trouble tomorrow. Lens comment about Cody getting his walking papers could really motivate Juliannes fans to vote. Lance and Brooke I think are the only guarantees. What a boring night though. If Warren doesn't make the final 3 I will be so disapointed. I am actually really looking forward to Brooke and Dereks freestyle. While it was nice to show us what the salsa and the jitterbug looked like it would have been a lot more helpful had they done it when the dances were first done. The show this year is just so blech.

Though I thought they were a little overscored, I agreed with the judges that Lance/Lacey were the best tonight.

He seems like a nice boy, but Cody has to go. The boy can't move his hips without moving his entire body. And that bug-eyed stare reminds me of my uncle who has a thyroid problem. Ugh.
Brooke and Derek's jive can't be accurately described without using the word cluster. Their salsa was better, but how could it not be? Those gold tassel pants were heinous. The tassel top would have sufficed.
What Warren lacks in technique, he makes up for with joy and enthusiasm. And him teaching Len his little solo dance was hilarious.
Lance and Lacey did very well tonight. I loved their Mambo. Lacey came up with some great choreo for that one that fit the music perfectly. Their jitterbug was very good as well. And to do it losing a shoe not even 1/4 of the way through it was amazing. How he had any confidence to plant that foot and push off I'll never know. I would have been scared to death of eating dance floor.
And again, because it bears repeating - Cody has to go.

No, she said "that's what extensions do". She was holding her ponytail, which was apparently a hair extension. Then Tom says "They extend".
It would appear that the judges don't want Cody around anymore, but the judges don't always get their wish (Marie Osmond), so we'll see. I'm tired of Warren to be honest. His "life of the party" schtick is getting old and increasingly less fun.
While I don't particularly like Lance and Lacey, there's no denying they were the best of the night. The only
really bad thing about a Lance win is that they would probably bring Lacey back for another season. I was a bit put off by their assumption that they'd be in the finals. Okay - they probably will but the SOP for this show is that you act deathly afraid of being kicked off every week, even if you know you won't be.

So, a great night for Lance. I was more entertained by his first, because it was more cheeky and creative, but the second one was really fun and I admire that he lost his shoe and kept going. After tonight, I wouldn't be upset if they won and they've never been my favorite.
I think Warren is my favorite by default. He brings so much fun to each dance and he has a really great chemistry with Kym. There are definitely some technical weaknesses, but I always look forward to what they're going to do.
Wonderful second dance from Brooke. She's so technically proficient, but her face is always so tight. I saw a bit of fire in the second dance, though.
Poor Cody. He's probably my favorite celeb, but not my favorite dancer. I thought the paso was pretty nice, and the salsa was cheeky, but he probably deserves to go.
Maybe Len should dance instead of judge. He's more likeable there. :P

Lance & Lacey better not win. I voted twice for Warren & Kym because I think Kym deserves a win and twice for Brooke and Derek, and once for Julianne and Cody even though they were off.
Enjoyed seeing the pro dancers, but shouldn't that be at the beginning of the show, not the middle?
Len's Master Class is the best part of the whole season. They really need to get rid of Carrie Ann for a while.
The other couple I'd like to see win is Brooke/Derek since she's different from Kristi, whom I liked, too. Brooke at least gets into the Latin dances and isn't a prude.

Warren has been good all season and same thing for Brooke. Cody looks the same as he did the beginning of the season. Carrie Ann needs to go away for a little while. Sent all my votes to Lance and Lacey. I enjoy them most and they actually dance. Unlike Warren who has gotten by this far on purely entertainment value. That's why Len's criticisms on others mean jack to me. He's handing out 9 and 10s to Warren for smiling and joyfullness and chiding others for missing a toe point. He always has favorites and judges accordingly.
I know that Brooke is a good dancer, but she seems to lack all joy in dancing. It's like 1, 2, 3 step, 1, 2, 3, twirl. All of her dances just seem to be about getting it over and done with. Cody is just not a good dancer, nothing much to say. Warren is not a dancer, he's a personality. So if the show wants another winner that doesn't deserve it based solely on the fact that they didn't do much dancing (hi Helio), then Warren should definitely take it.

Ahhh....so
that's who that was! Thanks! I was wracking my brain going through glamour pusses of yesteryear.
She's the "I'm gonna wash that man right outta my hair" lady!
The pro Jitterbug was a frenetic ,frantic, herky-jerky, hot mess in my opinion. Sure they did iintricate shit, but Tom had it right when he said they'd been drinking espressos all day. The male dancer drove me up a wall looking at his manic face.
I do not think Lance will be insufferable if he wins. Which he won't. Because Brooke will. But man, tonight? Brooke's first dance was 90 percent awkward mess. And talk about pandering to the audience. Why else would she wear a samba/salsa outfit for a jive? Almost all the women on the show wear poodle skirts and a pullovery style top when they do a jive. She had a bespangled bra and a handkerchief on. Second dance was really good I thought. Although, as has been mentioned, the pants were a nightmare.
Thought Kym was sexing it up a bit for the vote as well. And Derek.
Cody is not a natural dancer IMHO. And I noticed Julianne pulling out her trademark over praising and over jubilation when they finished their paso. She seems to do that whenever a dance wasn't particularly good. Sort of , "If I act like he danced awesomely, maybe everyone else will think so too!" She used to do that with Helio as well.
Warren seems like sooooooo much fun and a great great guy. But he galoomphs around the dance floor half the time. He is not a great dancer at all in my opinion. I thought he was horrifically overscored tonight. Either him or Cody can go, I don't care.
I thought Lance and Lacey's mambo was &$@#&ing awesome, and hope they do it again tommorrow night. The jitterbug was fun and energetic and he gets fucking props from me for not missing a step after his sneaker flew off. I think they finally got the scores they deserve.
I'll disagree and say I think he's consistently been the best male celeb dancer the whole season, from week one. Personally I don't think any of the other men have danced as well. Not once.
Brooke and Lance should be in the finals. The other two, eh, whatever...

Thank you, GoldenWoman. In no way do I want to see Lance winning after pretty much whining all season and boring while Warren and Brooke have been consistently good (to their own strengths) all season. Also, no way do I want to see Lacey win over Kym and Derek. Not after the yeoman's work these two pros have done while on DWTS. Lance still looks the same to me.
While I could see why some see the 1-2-3 element in some of Brooke's other dances, I did not see it with the salsa. It is like that bad jive light a fire under her.
IMO, Cody is not worse (dance wise) than Lance. Lance can just sell the dance better and all the "wow" moments. As for Lacey, her dancing is reminding me a lot of Sabrina. It lacks light/shade.

Holy Lancey! That mambo was pure awesome. The music and the energy and the performance and the choreography all kicked ass. Loved it. And their rehearsal package didn’t annoy me for once, yay for them.
Adore Len, adore his master classes. He's just so darn cute.
What in the everloving hell was that headband on the lady singer's head tonight? It looked like a chandelier.
Still not a Brooke fan (and not because of her mistakes in the first dance, I felt horrible for her). It was too late to attempt working on performance as well as choreography and technique. There's also something about her very upper body posture and head positions that bother me. The lifts in the salsa were pretty impressive though.
Love how happy Julianne and Cody are to be back together again. No one has really captured my fancy this season as someone I really want to see win, so three of my four votes went to Cody because he's just so darn endearing in his earnestness. The fourth went to Lance and Lacey for their mambo. I would say their freestyle is one that's going to entertain the hell out of me, and I don't care about anyone else's. Don't care enough who wins, either.
YAY Kristi and Mark together again. BOO to whoever the hell did her hair tonight. And what's up with all the Debbie/Deborah Gibson? I think this is the second show I've seen her in the audience. Wait, now I have Electric Youth stuck in my head.

I don't get this. Even if I didn't enjoy Brooke's dancing, which I do, she still seems like a very nice, sweet person, so I couldn't enjoy her completely falling apart like that. She look mortified, and I felt awful for her. I was glad that she came back strong in the salsa, because I was worried that she would be demoralized and have a second bad dance. I guess Carrie-Anne was still in a snit about the lift in the jive, because otherwise she would have given that a 10. And it definitely deserved as many or more points than Lance's jitterbug.
I would absolutely hate to see Lance and Lacey win this thing. They to me have been weak and annoying the whole season. This is the first week where I feel like they actually brought it.
I agree that their first dance was the best, although of very weak competition. I still didn't think it was worthy of the high praise it got from the judges. Lance has neither Warren's personality (Lance has more the borderline-intellectual-functioning, "I'm special" persona with blank stares and empty smiles) nor Brooke's skill, and his dances bore me. He was still pigeon-toed during the first dance, and I didn't think it deserved any 10s. I was praying that Len wouldn't give him a 10 for the second dance, as he gave Brooke a 9 for her (superior) jitterbug, saying that he wouldn't give that dance a 10. At least he kept that consistent.
But speaking of Len and consistency...How can he slam Brooke for having a technically sub-par performance, and then point out multiple, major technical issues in Warren's routine - but write them off because of his personality? Warren's charm is sort of wearing off for me...His personality and the entertainment were nice when the level of competition was lower and there were more (worse) dancers in the competition. But now those elements feel stale, when it is still just that with little to no improvement in his dancing.

Out of the couples left, I don't think there's really been any improvement dance wise in any of them, so I can't root for any of them for that. Brooke is the best dancer IMO out of the celebs left and I wouldn't mind if she won. Cody is stiff but he's just so cute I want to pinch his cheeks, so I can't help rooting for him a little. I like Lance and Lacey also for some reason, although when I really look I see his dancing is not all that great, he and Lacey are just good at covering it up sometimes. Warren is a cute huggable teddy bear but he looks too out of control and he's the one I'd most hate to see win, even though I like him.
Warren's jitterbug didn't look like much of anything to me. I wouldn't have known it was a jitterbug if you didn't tell me. The hell? with that outfit Brooke wore for the jive! She was a clunky mess for that dance and the outfit was not helping her look any better. Hated, hated, hated Kym's roulette wheel skirt.

I felt really badly for Brooke, I saw real panic in her face like others did. And she seemed to start confusing her Jive with the Salsa midway through--I noticed at least twice she did that. All this notwithstanding, her Salsa was great. She has been my favorite and it would be a shame if she doesn't make it to the finals because of one veeeery off dance.
And, lo and behold, someone seems to be listening and showed us some pro dances! I'll take advantage of this and say I still want to see Mark and Julianne dance ballroom. They rarely dance together, and when they do, it's for two seconds or some pop routine.
And, I reluctantly liked Lancey's Mambo. Haven't seen their Jitterbug yet, but it sounds like they were great. I agree that they will be insufferable if they win.

Lance/Lacey kicked some serious ass tonight. They rocked it out. The choreo/execution on that mambo was fantastic. Has to be one of my favorite dances this season. Their jitterbug was cute too. I am looking forward to seeing their freestyle more than any other couple.
I don't know if it was because Warren looked especially clunky tonight or what, but I really, really didn't enjoy Kym's choreography on either dance at all. He peaked weeks ago, and he is not getting any better.
I think Cody is endearing and it was cute to see him back with Julianne. He looks like he is trying so damn hard, but it just isn't there. He should probably go next, but if he outlasted Warren, I wouldn't be too upset about it.
Oh my God, Brooke's jive was awful. What a disaster that was. I was half laughing, half cringing while I was watching it. It was so unexpected. Derek's choreography sucked big time though, so that didn't do her any favors. Her second dance was much better, but those pants...and then they started falling down and everyone could see her underwear for the latter portion of it. Not a good night for Brooke.
I think Cody will go, but, honestly, I think it will be a toss-up between Cody and Brooke. Maybe I am wrong about her fanbase, but I don't think she can afford to have many off-nights. Should be interesting.

I thought Carrie Ann's reaction to the lift in Brooke and Derek's routine was way over the top. She acted like it was a mortal sin, and seemed convinced that Derek had choreographed an illegal lift to give them an edge. Yeah, Carrie Ann, that would be a great strategy - put in an illegal lift, when all the pros on the show know very well that the crazy-annoying female judge with a lift fixation will deduct you with pleasure. I thought the lift looked completely unintentional. Brooke kept her feet on the ground for part of it, and I think that's how it was supposed to look. Not a surprise that the move went wrong, since that routine was a complete mess.

I didn't think any of the routines were that outstanding, this being the semi-finals and all, but I probably liked Lance and Lacey the best, and like many others have said, I'm not a fan of theirs.
Dance-wise, I think Cody and Warren are about even, but I think Cody needs to go tomorrow, although I have warmed up to him quite a bit since he partnered with Edyta. At least Warren manages to bring a certain flair to his performances, and Cody is just kind of boring and unfortunate to watch.
I usually have a pretty good idea of who is going to be eliminated, but this time, I really have no clue, except I'm pretty certain it's not going to be Lance. Brooke had one bad dance, and I'm not sure of her fanbase. The harsh remarks and less than stellar scores from the judges may just save Cody with the voters, and Warren got decent scores and decent remarks so people may just pass him off as safe. Tomorrow's elimination will be interesting.
I was glad they gave us pro dances with the new dance styles, but I wish they would have done that when they first introduced them.
...and may I just say, I thought it was so fitting and ironic when Lance's shoe came off in the middle of his dance.

I agree, toothbrushfence about CA and liftgate. It bothered me more because clearly this is a woman who has works hard, struggles with memorizing choreography and nothing but panic in her face after that jive. Then to say that in that tone, just bugged. I feel like Lance deserves a smackdown and I would enjoy watching him go down a peg because I feel like he is entitled. With Brooke, she is hard working and sweet and I found no joy in watching that jive.
It would suck, given her fan base, to miss the finals after one bad dance.

I used to think Brooke had it in the bag but now Lance has to be the fave. He's really improved and his chemistry with Lacey just keeps getting better. Warren is still the most fun to watch, but technically he's #3. Cody, though cute as a button, should go home. Hey, no shame in #4.

I don't get this. Even if I didn't enjoy Brooke's dancing, which I do, she still seems like a very nice, sweet person, so I couldn't enjoy her completely falling apart like that. She look mortified, and I felt awful for her.
It's not really anything personal against her, but she has been built up and up and up and up with very, very little criticism even though she's needed it, so it was a joy to watch her and her partner fall from grace. She'll get over it. Apparently she did really well in her second dance, so it was just a bad dance.
I'll give her credit, though. In her video package, she said she needed to work on showing personality and charisma. Where'd she get that from because she certainly hasn't been getting that criticism from the judges (which is my biggest pet peeve concerning Brooke. There IS stuff to criticize, such as her lack of showing personality, but they just won't say anything to her because she's their ringer).

Lance/Lacey will be insufferable when they win. I am on the anyone but Lance train.
I am too. Honestly, I couldn't care less which celeb wins. All of these semi-finalists have their plusses and minusses, but none of them are the full meal deal, to my mind. None are on par, or better, than most of the past winners and many of the past semi-finalists even. But, at least, whichever celeb wins won't be back next season as a contestant. The pro, however...
If L&L win, I'm reckoning we're guaranteed Lacey back next season. She probably will be anyway, but... I don't want her back. On top of that, if they win, it will just validate their whiny, disrespectful, flouting of the show behavior during the course of the competition. Ugh.
Warren brings a lot of personality to the floor, but beyond that he's no great shakes as a ballroom dancer and hasn't really improved over the course of the season. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing Kym win.
I can enjoy little Miss Perfect falling from grace.
And Derek, too. Or is that just me?
