One more couple is eliminated.
LisaM
Happy to see Cody have the chance to dance with Julianne again, although his tears with Dr. Drew were very odd.
whiterose23
The Schwimmers have nothing on the Houghs. The main difference, for me, was that the former came off a bit entitled whereas the latter came off charming. Team Hough all the way.

Aww, Cody! That was a really sweet moment between him and Julianne. Who knew he cared that much about her. And I'm so glad he's in it for another week! Julianne looked really good during the Dr. Drew segment and when she first made her appearance on the dance floor with Derek.

This was the first time I've seen Maks with the crew cut and I don't like it. Grow your hair out, Maks. You're much hotter with longer hair. That pro dance was awesome! Maks and Karina are smoking.

Samantha's lame attempt at interviewing Maurice and Cheryl after they got eliminated was hilariously pathetic. She looked like a chicken with her head cut off.
tip and fall
Brooke and Derek get +1 point for taking Len's criticism in stride. Take notes, Lance!

But then they get -10 points for Derek having to stick his head in during Cody's segment. GTFO, Derek. Maybe the reason why I can't warm up to Brooke is because Derek is getting on my nerves so much. I guess he won the power-voting battle for the Design-A-Dance poll. I was very chagrined to see that. That jive was just...ugh. The choreography itself was excellent, but I think they mugged more than Lacey and Benji did in their dance, actually.

And the kinesiology segment was such filler bullshit.

Maybe I'm way too callous, but I rolled my eyes when Cody started crying. Was he that worried? Yes, I know Julianne had surgery. But it's not like it was an emergency (sorry, if a surgery can be put off for a dance competition, it's not a true emergency) where Julianne's appendix was in danger of bursting. An appendectomy is a relatively minor, routine procedure. I don't think I'd start sobbing with worry if one of my relatives got their appendix removed...maybe all the pressure just got to him. I should cut him some slack, but I thought it was weird.
loveisthedrug
I'll take Team Hough over Team Schwimmer any ol' day.

I'm happy Cody gets to stick around one more week. While I don't think one is better or worse than the other, I prefer him over Maurice.
tolliveramc
OK, so I was surprised. I really thought Cody was going home this week. The power of Julianne fans and the Disney Channel audience, I guess.

Speaking of Julianne, color me impressed by her rapid recovery and breath-taking dancing with Derek in the "design a dance" segment (and hey, I liked those outfits ... much better than most of the regular outfits this season! Sign her up!).

I even liked Lacey and her brother, although I loathe that Brad Paisley song.

Not a bad week for a results show.

And, oh, my, Maks the Chippendale dancer in that second Paisley segment. Smokin'.
GoldenWoman
I'm going to miss Maurice and Cheryl but now it's all about Warren for me. That whole Dr. Drew segment was pathetic and stupid. Cody crying was weird and there wasn't a whole lot said that we didn't already know. I absolutely love watching Kym dance she is so much fun.
Tasya
It was really Maurice's time to go so i'm not too sad about it. The results show was ok, I just had a couple of issues. One was Len saying that he focuses on the footwork and then having him give Warren a complete pass because of his personality. Way to completely invalidate your own standards and critiques on others. He's so full of crap. He acts like he's this super stickler but really he's only that way for people he doesn't care that much for.

I also did not like Warren's cavalier attitude in the Dr. Drew session. Basically it seemed to me as if he was saying that DWTS is so easy and he can handle it with no pressure compared to what he's used to. He came off as really cocky to me.

During the second Brad Paisley dance, I noticed some Kym missteps once again. That makes two pro-dances in two weeks that she hasn't shined in.

Julianne & Derek, for someone who was in the hospital two weeks ago, she sure was doing some wild dancing. Guess it really wasn't all that bad then.
spanana
Predictable ending. Why I do prefer the Houghs to the Schwimmers, between both families tonight it was the perfect storm of mugging. I much prefer Julianne and Derek when they are not dancing with each other.

I like Cody, but I was laughing during his cryfest.
sab85
Aww, glad to see Cody got through to dance with Julianne again.

I muted Dr. Drew. Really didn't feel like hearing about feelings, dance dammit.

I know nothing of Benji Schwimmer, but when you can turn out of your spin just to face the camera that's not just mugging, that's world class mugging people.
MerBear
I really like Maurice and I think he tried so very hard and came so far -- was sad to see him go.

I won't care when Lance is eliminated.

Thought Lacey and Benji were amazing together. But Derek and Julianne are off-the-charts great!!!! Such clever choreography when they were working around the piano.
GoldenWoman
I have to say I have had my fill of Julianne this season. Tonight was all about her and it was annoying. Also could they make it any clearer that they want those two to be the final 2 standing. Warren fans better get ready for a rough ride.
Carmella
Did anyone else notice they cut from a shot of Cody and Edyta on the stage to a shot of Tom and Samantha for five seconds and then to a shot of Edyta backstage in a completely different outfit with Brad Paisley? It cracked me up.

I'm happy with the results. Cody should stay at least one more week while Maurice should go home.
Tranquility
The best part of the night...

The Schwimmer siblings got their arse's served on a platter by the Hough siblings. I found it so amusing that Derek and Jullianne did Benji's attached cartwheel. My niece who was watching with me said that the piano was basically a slap to the face for Lacey ("See thats how you're suppose to use a prop").

The most awkward part of the night...

Cody and Jullianne's Dr. Relationship segment. For me it just screamed "Hi i'm Cody, and this is Jullianne, i think when i grow up i'm going to marry her".

The most shallow part of the night...

The Dancer's Anatomy, seriously becuase if that was Alec Mazo in that segment doing the male latin dancing shirtless, screw the anti-shirt Len rule, let the male pro's dance shirtless.
sweetpd7
I usually think Sam's hair is pretty, even when other's don't care for a style. Tonight, however, she had an rat's nest looking bun. It looked like the bun was teased or she took a nap after styling. Her hair was dreadful, but the dress may have been worse. A tie-dyed looking evening gown?

I really enjoyed Brad Paisley's performance. Lacey and Benji had great energy and a nice country flavor. It was great not to have "guest" dancers (except for Benji). Our pros did a really energetic and fun dance. This is the first results episode I haven't FF'd one or two dances.

However, the filler was atrocious. Sending the couples to a shrink? Even the celebs sounded stilted and contrived and this offered no true insight into anything. Very lame. The Kinesiologist segment wasn't worth broadcasting, I know this after the few seconds I endured.

I truly like all the couples left. I was very sad to see Maurice leave, but I would miss any of them.

Oops, I forgot to mention Derek and Julianne. I actually liked their performance the very best. I adored the choreography.
ZeroForce
But then they get -10 points for Derek having to stick his head in during Cody's segment.

Okay, I thought that was funny (and good timing) on his part. Samantha's the one who felt the need to crack on Cody twice for being sandwiched between two gorgeous women, then saying that they taught him everything, and then felt the need to back over the punchline by saying ". . . about dancing. *wink wink nudge nudge*"

Edyta rolled her eyes, and since Derek happened to be standing there, and Samantha's making jokes about how his little sister might've "shown Cody the ropes", he busts in with the faux "big brother standing up for the little sister" gag. Frankly, I thought his reaction made the situation funny where Samantha had originally made it only awkward.
AwNutz
Cody and Jullianne's Dr. Relationship segment. For me it just screamed "Hi i'm Cody, and this is Jullianne, i think when i grow up i'm going to marry her".

See, now to me it screamed, "For your Emmy consideration."

ETA...

I totally agree.
spanana
Tonight really did seem like the Julianne show, which was a tad annoying. She was gone for two weeks. Not two years.
Tasya
The Schwimmer siblings got their arse's served on a platter by the Hough siblings.

Mileage definitely varies on this. I guess it's all on what you prefer. Personally I don't think Julianne and Derek are any better at what they do than Lacey and Benji are at what they do. I find Benji extremely annoying but I find both Derek and Julianne to be just as annoying. I'm so tired of DWtS being the Hough show, they may as well rename it. Maybe Julianne's singing career will take off and she won't be back next year.

I disagree. I thought it was an attention whorish thing to do. Shades of Cloris. Kind of fitting in with Derek's overall personality this season IMO. He's not as bad as Cloris, of course -- I'm not reaching for the eye bleach or anything, the way I was with her -- but at this point I can barely stand to watch him.
ButterflyRei
Why does it have to be Hough vs. Schwimmer? Both pairs did very different dances wonderfully. Plus, the Hough's had more dance time and did not have to go off screen for the musical guest.

I loved all the pro dances tonight!

I really like the segment with all the judges at the table talking about last night's dances.
AwNutz

Yeah, I've heard the single. I'd not hold my breath on that one.
ZeroForce

It does, and I happen to agree with you (but mostly because I hate jive). They were both sharp - the only thing I noticed was that I thought the Schwimmers' aerials were sharper and more cleanly done. Derek and Julianne might've done the cartwheel thing, but Derek's leg was bent, and they only did it once. Benji and Lacey did the fish-flip/cartwheel combo twice, and Benji's legs were straight as an arrow. Then again, that gag is something of a staple for them and Benji/Heidi, so it's not a surprise.

So mileage varies. That's cool. I haven't been watching as much, and when I do, I TiVo past all but the dancing. That, and my dislike of Samantha far outweighs any dislike I feel toward any pro.
tip and fall
my dislike of Samantha far outweighs any dislike I feel toward any pro.

Isn't "Samantha sucks the most out of anybody on the show" a fact, not an opinion? ;) Kidding, kidding.
portfino
I always find Derek's mugging annoying, so while his timing may have been good tonight, that's only because Samantha is even more annoying.

As far as Cody's tears, as far as whether it was real emotion, overdramatic performance, a crush coming out, and weird (although the editing may have played a role in that) - Can I take all of the above?
Tranquility

I think the producers are giving themselves pats on the back. They couldn't resist the chance to have two pairs of siblings dance one after the other.
isiscloud
The Schwimmers have nothing on the Houghs. The main difference, for me, was that the former came off a bit entitled whereas the latter came off charming. Team Hough all the way.

It's all the Schwimmer Camera Mugging ™ that's so annoying. At least Julianne and Derek dance, and don't stop and do some BS stuff directly in front of the camera. Loved the work with the piano. Awesome! Two brother & sister teams?

Maks was smokin' hot. I didn't recognize him until they pulled into his face with Tom.

Brad Paisley was pretty good and I don't particularly like Country music. What makes me laugh are the ads for the CMA awards that "All America is Waiting For." Really?

I think we need some "pro" changes as well.

Glad that Kym and Brooke are still in it. Why couldn't Lacey/Lance leave?
ZeroForce
All we needed was the pseudo-brother Hough dancing with the Schwimmer cousin, and the circle would've been complete. Though to be completely honest, I wouldn't mind seeing Mark dance with Heidi. That might actually be the best combo.
troubleinmind
I say this as someone who has never been a fan of Benji or the mugging, but I much preferred the Ben/Lacey dance to the Houghs. Maybe I am just over the Houghs or I have seen their same moves too many times. They may very well be the most genuine people in the world, however, I didn't like Derek's trying to whitewash his saying Brooke was lazy in her mind and other rude comments.
I also didn't like how the show made it all about Julianne. As has been said, it's not like she was away for a year.

I knew Cody would get the votes partially because of the whole Julianne/Cody/Edyta story. Cody must stay to dance with Julilanne again? Why? Are they the greatest couple of all time? Also, the crying segment was odd. Maybe Cody has abandonment issues but I thought Edyta actually improved his dancing.

As for Maurice leaving, well, I'm not sure it was the right decision. I just hope the Cody/Julianne great sobstory doesn't propel them into the F2 over someone who I believe deserves it more.

Also, Maks, you are like Samson. Please grow your hair back.

As usual, way too much filler and one minute left to kick Maurice out on his ass. C'mon show.
Skycatcher
because Derek is getting on my nerves so much.

Yeah, it's getting......strange. I used to really like him, great dancer, but now when I see him mugging so much.....creepy.
MerBear
I laughed when, at the beginning of the show, Lacey was recalling their score of 50 and she said "I'm 50!" and kicked her leg up just like Molly Shannon's character used to do on SNL. I loved that character so way to go, Lacey.

I like Derek -- he always amuses me and I am unfailingly wowed by his dancing and choreography.

Great to see Julianne. I was worried every step she took in her dance. Wow, that's quick healing.

Loved the 6 pro dancers together when Brad Paisley was singing his second song.

Samantha just gets worse! I wonder if Tom is embarrassed for her -- he HAS to know how she is coming across.

I was actually touched by Cody's tears. I thought Julianne handled it very graciously because it had to be a little awkward. She knew not to crush this young man's tender show of emotion.

I like Cody very much and I'm amazed at his young age with how well he handles all of this.
Tranquility
Though to be completely honest, I wouldn't mind seeing Mark dance with Heidi. That might actually be the best combo.

All this talk about siblings really wants me to add in that Maks and his brother dancing a "Manba" would wipe out any other sibling comparison here *goes back into fantasy world*

I guess I didn't pipe in what I thought of the elimination. Personally I guess it could've gone either way, and I wouldn't have mind. But the way that the hosts kept inserting the whole "-will he be dancing with Jullianne next week?" slightly bugged me.
ZeroForce
On that note, did I hear correctly that the pro dancing with Kym to the second Brad Paisley song was a Mazo?
jonaswan2
It's all the Schwimmer Camera Mugging ™ that's so annoying.

Seriously, could y'all imagine a season with the Schwimmers and the Houghs. I don't think ABC's video equipment could handle the intense amount of mugging that would go on between those 4.
Fable
I think we could have done without the Dr. Drew therapy sessions, and the Cody/Julianne moment was just all kinds of weird.

I liked all the pro dances tonight, but Lacey and Benji were my favorite.

Sorry to see Maurice go, but at this point, I would have been sorry to see any of them go. I like them all, granted some more than others, but it's hard to watch people you have grown to like on the show leave.
klm1
It's gotten to where I want to rip my eyes out whenever the Houghs, either one or both, appear on my screen. Talk about overkill. Cody should have left but god forbid he be eliminated just when Julianne returns. Pathetic.
PBGamer89
Yup, that's Genya Mazo, Alec's brother!
Binky29
I for one thoroughly enjoyed the "anatomy of a dancer" segment. Why? Alec & Edyta. Good God they are SMOKING hot together. Why have I never noticed?
oakgal
I can state for the record I don't like the Schwimmers or the Houghs. They can both take a flying leap as far as I'm concerned. The worst part about Cody not being eliminated is that Julianne is returning. I thought I was done with her. Ugh.

Hated the Schwimmer Mug Fest. Hated the Toothy Twosome Jive.

Thank goodness Maks and Karina were back. Love them. Brad Paisley was good in both numbers. I'm not a fan, but Country really does work well with these latin dances.

So much pointless filler tonight. It was maddening. The sports segment was useless. The Dr. Drew Therapy Session was just plain weird. As for Cody crying, who knows. He's 18. He's crushing on Julianne and he's prone to crying probably. I don't think Warren came off as arrogant, I think he has perspective. Unlike many others.

Love Maks and Tom together. They are so cute.

Bye Maurice.
Tricksterson
Julianne's back baby! That dance with her and Derek was amazing. Lacey and Benji were good too and I wasn't aware the two pairs were in a competition so why is everyone acting like they were?

In terms of music and performances this was probably the best results show this season. The whole Dr. Drew segment on the other hand could have fallen off a cliff for all I care.
sunalsosets
I didn't know there was a Team Hough vs. Team Schwimmer competition. In any event I'd go for neither. Derek seriously acts like he either has ADHD or he's on some illegal drug. I noticed tonight that even standing, his leg kept moving like he literally could not stop shaking. That's just weird.

I'm a little more charitable towards Julianne since her recent illness but I haven't forgotten all the times she's bugged me. Benji has driven me nuts since SYTYCD so that's neither here nor there. In truth the only one that doesn't bug me is Lacey so I guess by default they win.

Personally I thought both dances were ridiculosly over the top and screamed of "trying too hard". Julianne just came off a surgery, some of those tricks in that dance was just not necessary. At the end of the day, it seems pointless to me to compare and dislike one or the other because all these guys mug like crazy, especially when they're dancing. I think the only one that might beat them is Mark.

Maurice's exit was no big surprise though for a brief second there I almost thought it was going to be Cody. Which speaking of, what the hell was that thing with Dr. Drew? I tried not to laugh but really it was either that or roll my eyes which come to think of it, I think I did both.

The PRO dance was underwhelming and I've felt that for most of this season. I don't know if the PROS are getting tired or partying too much so in the performances with their celeb, they're under-rehearsed but this is the second time where I've just been left feeling rather blah about the performance.
troubleinmind
I don't think Warren came off as arrogant, I think he has perspective. Unlike many others.

This is exactly how I read it too. It was refreshing.

I picked Maks and Karina to dance. I guess others just love the Houghs.
Tasya
I thought that the guys and Karina were the only good things in that pro dance. Kym was off for the second week in a row and honestly Edyta's dancing never impresses me. She's smoking hot but I just don't like her in motion. I think that when Kym is dancing with her celeb she looks damn good in comparison, but line her up with other pro-woman and boy-o does she compare badly. She seems so sweet though so I don't mind her sticking around on my screen for however long.
spanana
Seriously, could y'all imagine a season with the Schwimmers and the Houghs. I don't think ABC's video equipment could handle the intense amount of mugging that would go on between those 4.

Yep. I know it's become a debate of the siblings, but I'd take all those other pros that were out on the dance floor with Maks as well as a few that weren't (Cheryl, Tony, Anna, Jonathan, Fabian and etc.) over any of the Houghs or Schwimmers. Oh, and the Ballas clan too.

During his season with Jennie, Derek was one of my faves. I still appreciate his choreography, but I can't say I enjoy him much anymore. I'm rooting more for Brooke than Derek.

I'm still curious as to why Cheryl isn't going on tour. That's a first.

As for Maurice, both he and Cheryl looked like they knew all hour long. Though considering Julianne's name was mentioned somewhere around a jillion times as they heralded her back into the competition after her tough two week absence, it was rather obvious.
rketeckt
Derek's mugging is approching the famewhore levels of (insert appropriate famewhore). An enough with the sibling dancing. Yes, they are good...but Stepford should use another outlet for it's freaky genetic engineering. Besides, don't we have enough douchebags in the world and on network television already?

And is it written into the pro contract that any dancing sibling get's a shot at being on the show?

Dr. Drew...Gary Busey has escaped and is loose on the grounds...you need to get back now. But it was a nice audition piece for Cody to use in his audition tape. Or to get some poor girl to take pity on him and...take him to the next level.

What's happened to Samantha? I think she's not only lost the baby weight but also a small child. Please, producers, have Kraft services make her a sandwich. And watch her eat it.
GoldenWoman
The problem I have with the Houghs and Schwimmers when it comes to dancing is not the mugging(which is annoying) but the way they dance. There is no feeling in their dances whatsoever. It's all about making sure they snap here and snap there. This move comes next then it's all about this upcoming move. It's boring to watch dances with no emotion. I feel like I am watching robots. Then they mug to make up for the lack of emotion. I would rather watch Kym dance then the 4 of them becuase I totally enjoy and get into the dance when she dances.
PassTheSalt
Samantha's lame attempt at interviewing Maurice and Cheryl after they got eliminated was hilariously pathetic. She looked like a chicken with her head cut off.

Wasn't that absolutely brutal? Man, I was just cringing. Maurice and Cheryl were like, "come on idiot, spit it out". She just has no clue how to wing a complete, coherant sentence. I also got a nice laugh when after the judges round table discussion, Samantha lemented about what it would be like for them to critique her interview skills. She really has no clue how horrible she is.

The Cody/Julianne therapy moment? Cree.pee. Very uncomfortable for me and everyone I was watching with. For real. The entire segment was very stupid.

I actually (gulp) kind of liked Lacey and Benji. I know, WTF? Though I'm not sure I cared for the outfits. If they would have dialed the mugging down by about 1000% I might have actually really enjoyed it all. I liked the last group number too, though I didn't particularly care for the song. I love to watch Karina and Kym move, and boy can they move! And I didn't notice any missteps... but there were 3 couples and my eyes could have been diverted elsewhere. And hot damn, Alec and his brother could be twins. Though, Alec is a bit hotter in my limited exposure.

I absolutely ADORED the Hough jive. The outfits and piano-inspired choreography were fantastic (but, I am a pianist, so I could be biased)... it was all very cute and fun. The exact blend of cheesy DWTS that I covet. Well done!

Sad about Maurice... but certainly not shocking by any means. I wish next week could be a Cody/Lance double elimination. Cody because he made me squirm and roll my eyes tonight, and Lance because of his recent asstastic comments.
MrsRosencranz
This show has now officially become, Dancing with the Dancers, the stars have become almost incidental. What a change from the first season when the pro dancers were not much more than props, never allowed to speak, never mind have personalities.

I don't mind at all.
ordinaryangel
Yes to all the annoyance with Derek mugging for the camera. I know everyone around here talks about the Schwimmer mugging, but Jesus H. Christ, Derek knock that shit off. One day his face is going to stay contorted permanently. Stop That! /end BB diary room voice.

I will say that for all my bitching about how I find Brooke to be emotionless during her dances, I liked her very much during the Dr. Drew segment and Derek kind of comes off as an ass. Maybe if she had a different pro, I'd like her more. Seriously, I can't take him anymore. Perhaps it's the Shannon Elizabeth influence.

Also, am I alone in thinking that Lacey has a tiny bit of a crush on Lance? I think at the end of the season, Lacey and Cody will need to form a support group of sorts. And poor crying Cody. Part of me wanted to giggle and the other wanted me to hug the shit out of him. I like him, but I still think he's going next week.
sunalsosets

Dude I thought I was the only one who caught that. I already liked her but that just threw her way up in my book of awesome.
