I have to say, Dance Center was really great. I also enjoyed Dave Scott's dance and I wish that he had done the group hip-hop. Cheryl and Maks looked great, however, Kym does not look good when dancing next to Tony in my opinion. I thought she looked sloppy and noticeably not as skilled, I also saw a very obvious bobble on a lift. I did not really enjoy Edyta and Alec and I think it's because I don't really care for Edyta. I find her boring.

Figures that Lance would complain about the judging during that one bit.
I was so worried about Edyta that I changed the channel at the last minute because I didn't want to see her crushed expression if she were eliminated. Pathetic, I know.

Have they always sang "Hit the Road Jack" after every elimination and I just haven't noticed? It seems rather rude.
The least Samantha could have done was let Susan hold the microphone...
Susan was gracious to the end.
Next week solos. They really seem to be trying everything this year.

Pro dances, not just one but two! Yes! I am not sure if I like Maks' new haircut, but I love watching him dance with Cheryl. Fantastic and a lot of fun.
Dave Scott, who I adore, disappointed me with the Macy's dance. Not enough dancing for me there. I do wish he did the group hip hop. Dave Scott is creative, hits notes hard (would love to see other pros working with him too) and he is big! I just wish I saw more of him dancing.
WTF with the exit song choice for Susan?
Dancecenter and Kenny Mayne are always fun. I loved the snarky comments on the celeb info screen such as Lance Bass-named after a fish and Cody-big eyebrows. Not sure if they are hinting anything, but the comment that Warren will win caught my attention. I know it is just a throw away comment but between his charm and the audience response, maybe Warren is still retaining his large fan support.
Lacey, the barefoot rumba was a bad idea already. Shoving your foot at Lance? Yuck. While I know Lacey was joking with the Len comment, it was just more of the same and it is getting old. Lacey, stop making it about you. Lance bitching about judges, Lacey complaining about Len. Why wonder they are morphing into one person.
Spotted Marlee and Kim in the audience. Yay, Marlee!

ITA need some getting used to Maks' new haircut/buzz cut. He has worn it that way before, when he competed. I did not even recognize him at first. Wonder if that was Karina's idea? Loved Tom's comment about hairless Maks and Samantha saying we still love him. he he
Loved the pro dances. Yeah Cheryl and Maks. Kym was a little wobblie at times. Latin is not her forte. It showed.

I would feel better if the celebs did not lose a day of rehearsals already. Why can't they just let them dance.
I did like seeing the behind the scene clip of the team group division. It did seem to go as speculated on the boards. Susan took Lance and Warren took Brooke. Then Maurice and then Cody.
I love Edyta even if her choreography (not her as a dancer) bores me at times. She is so sweet, I would have hated to see Cody leave today after his first week with Edyta. I am glad to see he was safe.

That went pretty much as expected. I did feel bad for poor Edyta who looked pretty worred that Cody was going to get eliminated on her watch.
I enjoy Maks/Cheryl dancing together and appreciated a non-rhumba pro dance (see Alec/Edyta), but I spent the beginning staring at Maks and his lack of hair.
I'm not a real fan of the solo idea.

Dance Center is always fun, but it didn't seem as dead-on and hilarious as in the past. Possibly because this cast is overall so boring it's hard to find enough snark to parody.
It was Susan's time to go. She was such dead weight in the cha-cha, that it was pretty obvious to most that she's not up to par.
I usually fast forward through the Macy's and other song and dance. I did however, listen to "Dancing on the Ceiling." I knew that their was a routine to that, but couldn't remember. My memory blocks at times. My son said it was used in the finals in the group cha cha with Kristi, Cristian and Jason. Anyone know for sure?
I was also really scared for Edyta. Coming in on the fly to substitute for Julianne, then getting voted off would be a huge bummer. Anyone know when Julianne is aiming to return?

I also think the snarkworthy moment providers (Cloris, Kim, Rocco) all left early. I mean, they pulled Lance's astronaut stuff to snark on. While hilarious, it seemed like they put a lot of jokes and exchanges just between Jerry, Kenny and Len into the bit. I thought the tango bit was hilarious.
I know it is not going to happen, but Maurice, Brooke and Warren would be a fun final 3 for me. Favorite pros aside but I think those three celebs are having a blast together.
Who knew Warren shared Kim and Marissa's similar passion for the costumes on the show? Warren just finds more things to charm me.

Dance Center is all kinds of awesome, but I agree with the poster above who said there was something lacking. It has to be this season's cast. I adore this show, but there's just something missing this season, and it unfortunately extended to the sacred Dance Center.
They really need to bring ballroom back. SYTYCD is my all time favorite show, and I love it because it showcases dance in general. This show is ballroom, and I tune in to see ballroom. I'd much rather see what the dances are supposed to look like, as demonstrated by the pros. And I used to love, love, love the group numbers. This season? Not so much.
I didn't think it was possible to look at Maks and not think he was hot. But that new 'do? Not feeling it.
After Lacey's rude "I'll dance barefoot all over your face" comment, I thought it was possible they were sending her home. As much as I love Miss Lacey Mae, that was an incredibly rude comment to make.

I like Brooke, but I agree I wish Len stopped the fawning. It is too much. She can bring fun and character as she has done in some dances, but not consistently and I think that should have been mentioned.
If I read into the dancecenter, it seems like they are pushing, Warren, Brooke and Lance. I must say, Jerry Rice has gotten funnier. I did not think last season's cast was particularly amazing, but with Shannon, Marissa, and Cristian's intense (some called crazy) eyes still at the half way point, I felt as though there was just so much material.

Agreed. She's not the be all, end all to DWTS contestants. Len is so enthralled with her, he's blind to her faults. It reminds me of Jason Taylor last season. Nice guy, okay dancer, but Len kept his blinders on and fawned over him every chance he got. I think Len likes "pretty" people, which annoys me to no end since he used to be my favorite judge, but is quickly turning into a pain in the ass for me.
What a boring show. I might be in the minority, but instead of having that Macy's Stars of Dance, they could have let the cha cha group perform again. Sure it wasn't that great, but I'd rather see the celebs dance than the Macy's people.

Last season I thought they got nasty, with the comments they made about Kristi. I was concerned they might try to go even further this year, and was happy they didn't. I preferred this year's version. think Dance Center may only have a certain lifespan. There's only so much of deadpan bitching and silly hair or makeup that can be had, unless they make major changes, like bringing in a few new contestants besides Kenny and Jerry Rice. They're good, but a change isn't a bad thing.
I did think their comments about Warren were funny, as was Kenny plugging his show, followed by Jerry's fake plug.
Poor Edyta. Not treated well at all on her week back. If he'd been beside Julianne I doubt the show would have put them in the bottom two.
What the hell are they doing solos for? Are we going to get a clock and then the "chunk" sound, followed by, "Dance dance dance...with the stars"?

But then how will Macy's blatantly ruin our ballroom show?
The most laughable portion of the show was when Lance was talking about how he works ever so hard in rehearsals, and then the judges come up and pop his fun bubble and criticize him. Darn those judges and all their criticisms, why can't they judge properly.

Kristi's criticism was all to give the illusion that Kristi was not running away with it. I do think Len loves pretty people (Stacy, Jason, Brooke). Jason was probably fawned also last season because they wanted to make it seem like he was up there with Kristi. Part of the whole let's try as much as we can to make it seem like it is not a slaughter last season. While for Brooke, it maybe due to her unknown fan base. But I think constant fawning (and I like her) only hurts her. I think she deserves a spot in the finals (winning is not likely) so they should give her comments to help her to continue to work on it. She obviously takes direction well. It does no celeb any favors if they are not given constructive criticism. Stop fawning, Len. Even CA and Bruno have critiqued Brooke this season. BTW, while he is fawning, I really do not think he (nor any judge) thinks Brooke is the be all and end. Kinda like their "this was the best quickstep ever" after season when it clearly was not. Just usual superlatives, but Len passed up a great opportunity for a valid critique.
Are we going to get a clock and then the "chunk" sound, followed by, "Dance dance dance...with the stars"?
LMAO, O2Sean. It is a great fear as this show seems to be reverting in that direction. WTF, producers. DWTS is more popular than the other dance show. Stop messing with it.
I disagreed with his Lance/Lacey chemistry (MMV, but I do not see it) and failed to praise Maurice for his improvement. They usually point out the most improved celeb and I think it is Maurice. Of course, in no way are they required to say it.
While not a fan of the Macy's dance, I do NOT want to watch that cha cha again. I would prefer to see a third pro dance. I did find it hilarious to hear Warren share how he, Brooke and Maurice just watched the pros dance for about half an hour. I bet group paso's rehearsals were fun.
Susan was classy during her exit.

I saw what they were trying to do with Kristi's comments, but I thought they went on too long and some of them seemed too excessive to me ("china doll", "ringer"), since the show seemed to be endorsing those views. I didn't want to see that happen again this season, just because I think it puts unfair burdens on a contestant. This season's DC seemed more tame, although I could have done without the comments on Brooke's legs and the weird blend of Lance/Lacey.
I think one awkward part was they seemed to be doing more "acting" this season, and none of those three are actors. Jerry was probably the best at it, even though he had the least to do.
I agree Maurice is the most improved celebrity. I think he's one of those people they're just waiting to get rid of.

Maks' hair!!! What happened to it? *sigh* It's only hair, it'll grow back. Please, grow it back!
Now see, two pro dances tonight! BALLROOM DANCES! Wasn't that nice? Was it so hard to do? More please. Although, I agree with whoever said that Tony and Kym were out of sync tonight, and I saw the bobbled lift too. Even so, I'd still rather see an imperfect ballroom dance between the show's pros than a perfect hip-hop routine done by dancers I don't know and have no connection to.
I was surprised that Susan went home tonight, but pleasantly surprised. I expected Cody to go home. Susan was the right choice, and I think she was ready to go. Glad Edyta didn't have to go through two eliminations in one season. That would have s***ed for her. Is Julianne coming back next week or will Edyta and Cody dance together again next week? Anyone hear anything?
I was a little disappointed in DanceCenter too, although it's still better than most of the stuff we have to sit through during elimination shows. I would have liked to see what they would have said about Cloris, though not enough to see her get this far in the competition!

Susan was definitely the right call, in my opinion. I loved watching her on the show, but she just seemed to have reached her limit as far as improvement was concerned.
The solo challenge next week sounds intriguing. The Italian DWTS did the same thing at Final 5 during its most recent season. Each celeb was first played a bit of music and had to figure out which dance they were supposed to dance to it, and they then had to make up a solo for the first 30 seconds of the dance before the pro would be allowed to join in and dance with them. It actually turned out quite well (especially with some of the Tango and Waltz selections), and I think it will be fun to see the same approach used here; it will be a good opportunity for the celebs to show what they've learned thus far in the competition.

I honestly think the solo thing is being blown out of proportion.
It's probably kinda like when Maks choreographed a solo for Misty at the end of their mambo.
For example, Brooke and Derek are doing a mambo, in the middle, they break and Brooke does some solo hip shaking for a few counts of 8. That's probably it.. it's just they are being required to do a solo.

Bony knob! Hee.
I was worried it would be Cody eliminated tonight, but when they kept mentioning his bottom score over and over again I figured he was safe. Not sorry to see Susan go, she was always classy and gracious - but her goodbye sounded like an awards speech, and for Pete's sake why was she strangling that microphone?

Oh my heavens, if I were a contestant on the show and they made me improv like that I would absolutely have some kind of bathroom accident on the floor from fear. I may still have one at home as a viewer, depending on what they come up with on the spot. Here's hoping they know the song and their pros choreograph the solo for them ahead of time...
What is the phrase? 'Word, sentence, and paragraph' to those telling Len to shut up with his fawning over Brooke and for someone to please God give her some criticism. And I wonder about her fanbase. I mean if she didn't have one you'd think they'd for once show her in the bottom two to rile up her fans into voting more, but I'm pretty sure they've never been in the bottom two. Ughness.

Thanks for this information. I was having a really hard time even coming up with a scenario where this would work. As for me, I just want my old DWTS back. From a week of competition with never before seen dances, the jitterbug, etc. to teams then solo work, what is left to purportedly shake up the show? TPTB just need to throw in the kitchen sink. I don't think all this "finessing" has been an improvement. Maybe it would have served more purpose if the stars left standing had more zest or zip. Brooke is technically "perfect" according to Len. Warren has personality plus, but some technique difficulty. Maurice, Lance and Cody are all passable dancers with some performance flair, that unfortunately comes and goes.
I did really enjoy the repeat of the Team Paso. I'm also grateful we were spared more Team Cha Cha. I'd gladly have taken the dry ice magical number over that, but the joy of FF would have spared me either.
The rest of me may not look like Brooke, but our knees might be dead ringers!

Nobody is Anna. But at least in Anna's case her "face" comment was geared towards another one of the dancers. Not the head judge.
I'm curious too as to whether Julianne is back next week or if we have another week of Edyta. I don't care either way, but Cody is a lot more vulnerable with Edyta. Not because Edyta is doing a bad job necessarily. Oh well. If anything next week should be interesting since my gut tells me it is probably between Maurice and Cody as to who is leaving and all the celebs are so back and forth this season it's hard to tell how they will perform.

DanceCenter was lame and toothless and formulaic. Meh. Make fun of Susan's boobs or some other 'oh, they didn't just go there' topic. Yeah, yeah, Tony's smile, we've got glitter... yawn.
Poor Kym had to ride on Tony's back there instead of his shoulder, for quite a while, huh? I still like the pro dances. Tony looked better than I've ever seen him. I disagree that Kym is weak. I thought she did better than Cheryl.
Cody does the innocent lad role well for someone who says his life is like Vince Chase's in Entourage.

I'm not a real fan of the solo idea.
I'm looking forward to seeing Brooke dance without having to watch Derek devolve into Corky at the same time. She certainly has faults, but at this point she is so my favourite. Derek has gone very quickly from one of my favourite pros to someone I can barely stand to look at. It's like with Mark, Julianne and Corky gone, Derek has to mug enough for all of them every chance he gets. I don't want him to get voted off because it would mean loosing Brooke, but Derek has become so annoying so very quickly.
Maks has new hair and I like it. It took me a moment to register that it was him, but once he started moving the hotness was obvious. I miss Maks.
Susan was very much the right person to go home. I thought the Paso was overscored and she really dragged in the group number.
Although, I agree with whoever said that Tony and Kym were out of sync tonight, and I saw the bobbled lift too.
She very easily could have fallen. I'm not an expert so I don't know who or what causes that sort of mistake, but I was watching them before the lift thinking to myself that it didn't look great so that's not a good pairing. Because if I can see problems before they happen and I know only what this show teaches me about dance, then the problems are pretty clear.
Dancecentre was pretty good. I didn't think the celebs gave them much to work with and there is no villain to cheer against. I disliked the Tango demo bit. I don't think watching a guy being uncomfortable dancing with another guy is all that funny.

I think it's too late to give Brooke any criticism. If the judges say anything about her lack of stage presence next week, they will come across as too nitpicky. They should have said something weeks ago. Not getting any criticism is going to hurt Brooke at the end. There is no question that she will be in the finals based on her scores alone. But I don't think her freestyle will be all that exciting, especially compared to the guys who will probably do high energy routines that showcase their big personalities. Right now I really think Warren is going to win.

I almost wanted to cry at the results show because it looked like my old DWTs. Doing the group dance paso seemed to thrill and warm up everybody who participated, it transformed the vibe of the show over the past two days. The pros and celebs who were in it seemed so happy and excited. It seemed like a great morale boost at this stage of the competition and for the show itself. So glad it was a paso and not a team hustle or hip hop.
Then - Lional Ritchie. A classic DWTs cheese guest! He's so good on this show. He fits right in. Loved both his songs. Loved Kym/Tony, Maks/Cheryl dancing.
The past two days have just felt like the show that I like. I think it does a lot for MY morale that my favorite pro (Cheryl) is suddenly dancing so well and seems so happy lately, but I'm also getting more personality from Brooke - she's intense, anxious about doing right, but she also seemed so happy with her scores, to enjoy the group dance so much, and she seems to be so warmly regarded by the others. Warren has lost whatever "the mouth is smiling, the eyes are a little unsettling" thing he may have had in the early stages, and now he just seems like such a classic DWTs contender, absolute gold. Somebody who is doing the show 100% right. He's competitive, he's a complete team with his partner and respectful of his partner, he respects ballroom, he performs, no costume issues, he strategizes - he's got no "holes" in his game as the kind of celeb who is a perfect fit for the best of DWTS (vs. a perfect fit for the DWTs that wants to create a mess, fix what isn't broken, or focus on personal dramas). No personal dramas with Warren, the Warren we are seeing channels his personality into the competition, learning the dancing, getting good scores, begging for votes, and regrouping if he needs to. He's not challenging the show or judges or fighting the format. He's working hard within the format. And he LOVES the show.
I guess I'm with Harvest Basket - I wouldn't mind a Warren/Maurice/Brooke finale. I think the Team Paso solidified that for me. As a whole, that group seemed to project the spirit of the DWTs that I like. The teamwork. The excellent student/teacher relationship between the celebs and pros with no babysitting, meltdowns, drama. The work ethic. Their perspective. Their combined talent and taste. How well the men performed in the group despite not having the apparent talent of Lance and Cody.
I wouldn't have put Maurice in that "finals" group before but I'm impressed at how twice he's managed to climb up only to get really knocked down, and then he climbs back up again, and I was super impressed with him in the paso and how he made himself fit into that team and make it work. I'm impressed with how the one-note happy go lucky guy has given way to a more serious and focused guy who has not lost his niceness.

I don't think watching a guy being uncomfortable dancing with another guy is all that funny.
I don't find it funny except when it's Kenny and Len. Then it's funny because they just are. Len's "hard knobs" were wonderfully outre. I agree that Dancecentre was missing some bite. Jerry Rice was freakin' hilarious though.

Thanks so much Sab85. Maks and Anna should argue more. Very entertaining. :)
Loved "Hit the road Jack". lol Who are these people picking out the music?

I guess it depends on how one feels about Susan? I love the song, but I thought it was kind of brutal to use for the elimination tune. Damn. And the lyrics, "Meanest old woman I ever did see?" Ouch and YIKES!
However, since "I Kissed a Girl" and "Tooty Fruity" and other titles that escape me at the moment, I kind of thought there may be a cheeky monkey looming in the mix.

Then - Lional Ritchie. A classic DWTs cheese guest! He's so good on this show. He fits right in. Loved both his songs. Loved Kym/Tony, Maks/Cheryl dancing.
Agreed. I think "Dancing on the Ceiling," Tony/Kym bobble and all, may be one of my favorite celeb singing/pro dancing performances I've seen on DWTS. It was infectious, the whole audience standing up and getting into it, the pros having a great time, Maks and Cheryl just doing an incredible job, and Lionel himself, looking like he was his late 80's self up there performing that song exactly like he did it then. Loved it!
Take out the damn Macy's Stars of Dance crap and Lacey's idiocy in the confessional, and this has to have been my favorite results show of the season.
As much as I love Susan (and I do, I'm watching my Tivoed AMC right now), this was her time to go. She's clearly not on the same level as the other five. She got to experience the show, come out of her shell on the dance floor at least a little bit, and it's clear she enjoyed the experience and the people she went through it with. I know she had wanted to do the show for a couple seasons, but could never get it to work with her schedule. I think she finally went ahead and did it this year, even with her AMC workload after seeing Cameron juggle it all. But, as someone else mentioned, Cameron's a lot younger, and has more energy to get it all done. (He's constantly got multiple jobs running.) I think it worked for him, too because he was already running back and forth to the West coast to do another show anyway, so it fit into his schedule.
Was it me or did Tom get in a little snark on the "warm fuzzy" music selection for her send off? I could swear he made a comment about it right as Samantha was launching into something, and you couldn't quite catch what he said. This show is crappy at picking the music for last dances fairly often. They need to work on finding a signature "goodbye" song or let the stars pick from a list at the beginning of the season of possible "goodbye" songs to be played in the event of their send off. I don't think anything will ever top "The First Cut is the Deepest" for a former stabbing victim, but I'm sure the show will continue to try to meet that lowpoint.
And seriously, Lacey, did you really just say you were going to go barefoot all over Len's face? How the fuck old IS she? 7? Lance should have been mortified by that whole clip, from her foot in his face to that childish comment.

Nice to have Dance Center back, although it wasn't as funny as it has been in the past. Still, I'll take a semi-funny Dance Center over pointless filler any day.
Maks! No hair, same hair, different hair----I don't care! He came back and danced and I was happy again. I really like when Cheryl dances with him, they have such a nice easy chemistry.
I liked the Dave Scott routine. And I could have sworn I spotted a former contestant of SYTYCD Canada in it. I swore Dario was in the section with the 4 guys and the wands.
Thanks so much Sab85. Maks and Anna should argue more. Very entertaining. :)
I miss Anna. *sigh*

I thought it was one of the best results show this season too. Minus the Macy's bit. Two pro dances. A decent musical guest. I didn't care for Lionel's first song, but Dancing on the Ceiling was tons of fun.
I also have to agree that Team Paso seemed so incredibly happy to be performing their dance again and I thought their joy was infectious. I think Brooke said somewhere something about how they had trouble getting through the number without smiling--and if you watch the original Brooke breaks a few times--because they were having just that much fun.
I realize the Team Dances bring up a fairness issue in regards to teams, but I do like the way it fostered a sense of camaraderie between the remaining celebs and pros. I wouldn't mind if they do that again in future seasons, as long as they keep it to ballroom dances.

I loved watching Dance Center tonight. Kenny and Len dancing together was priceless. I totally agree Waltzin this was like an old episode of the show. The pro dances were awesome. I loved the outifts Kym and Cheryl were wearing. I also enjoyed seeing the team paso tonight. I've already re-watched that thing more than 8 times. It's just so fun to watch and the excitment is so infectious. I want to say word to whoever said that Maurice, Warren and Brooke should be the final 3. They looked like they loved dancing and being around each other which is what makes this show for me. Susan going was predictable and correct but she was very classy.
