Yay! Kim is voted off and Pasha was magnificent!

ETA: Anya was also wonderful! I really have missed them.
lothlorienbow
Mark's free! Now Kim K can go off and be an empty shell of a person somewhere else.

Also, Brian Friedman is awesome.

ETA: Seeing Pasha and Anya dancing together again on another show is fantastic, now if only it wasn't to Jessica Simpson...
Cheetara04
Highlight: Pasha and Anya dancing(Please put them on the show next season.) Plus Kim finally getting booted off.
Sugarbaker
I think Kim knew the jig was up.
tolliveramc
YAY!!!! OK, I do feel a little bad for Kim on the timing of her dad's death, but ... I'm glad she's gone from the screen. Cloris, you're welcome to follow next week.

Maybe this scared Rocco enough to really try harder next week. Let's hope so.

Jessica Simpson: Not awful but not great. I liked Maks and Cheryl's dance to "Angels," though.

Really liked the routine to "Black and Gold" (a favorite song of mine these days). How come the black and silver outfits, though??
RockinTheJ
PASHA and ANYA! I'll write more later about the rest of the show :)
ButterflyRei
Pasha, Anya and B. Free! I was a happy girl tonight!

Thank goodness Kim K left.
Cheetara04
Poor Mark:( He got great partners in Sabrina and Kristi and now he leaves the second week cause he got a clunker of a partner in Kim K.
daggertrepe
OK. Rocco and Karina have serious crushes on each other. It's so cute.
bluvelvet
Okay I kinda feel sorry for Kim K, but it was still appropriate that she left tonight. I actually prefer Cloris over her. I also really loved the hug and kiss Corky gave Mark at the end.

Pasha and Anya!! YAY!! It was truly a pleasure seeing them dance. Jessica Simpson also looked quite nice.

Glad to see that my favorites as safe thus far.
sussudio
Mark looked like he wanted to go home since this results show began. Did you see right before they went to commercial break? He didn't want to be near Kim at all.
tolliveramc
Oh, and I'm glad the producers bought a clue and didn't make Toni wait until the end again to be "safe."
Pixigal
I am so excited to see Pasha again. One of my very favorite dancers and he and Anya looked fabulous. That was an unexpected treat.

And thank you America for at least getting this one right. Cloris next please.
mtlchickie
Karina's squeal of joy made my ears bleed but since I never seen that type of reaction from her before, I'll let it slide. However, whoever thought it would be a good idea for Jessica Simpson to destroy "Angels" again should be forced to dance with Master P. Yeegads! I am so distraced by that, I didn't even realized that Pasha and Anya were on!

Relieved that Kim is gone (and Mark is free!) Now let's get rid of Daddy Ballas next, PLEASE!

Loved the backstage stuff with Bruno and Len going back and forth for both shows. (See that Kim? That's called EFFORT.)
ShadowDenizen
Was it just me, or did the pacing for this episode seem off? Too much filler [Jessica Simpson? Really?], and then they rush through the Final 4 couples. Although, to be honest, this whole season seems "off" in terms of pacing to me.

Well, Julianne and Cody made it through! Yay! I think they're my favorite couple thus far this season.

Also pleased that Rocco made it through; I'm used to thinking of him as a douchebag, but he's actually kinda self-deprecating and charming this season, so "Yay" for him.

I figured it would be either Kim or Rocco going home; I think the public will keep Cloris around for a few weeks before cutting her loose. (Seeing the interview with Kim about "wanting to dress up" turned me even MORE off her, if that's possible; IMO, it's clear she just wants to extend her 15 minutes in the spotlight. And why exactly is she a "star" again?)
GoldenWoman
So glad that the correct person went home tonight. I enjoyed both pro dances tonight but wished they could have danced to a better singer. The red room piece was awesome and gave me some good laughs. Tom was once again totally on and I loved his line about Alecs album coming out. All in all a good night at DWTS.
lovemaks
Loved the Cheryl and Maks dance, Jessica's singing? Not so much.
oakgal
Pasha and Anya!!! Woo woo! They were ridiculously amazing as usual. Yowza! Sizzling stuff there. I love them. Now that is chemistry! (Too bad it was to Jessica Simpson. Bleh.)

Cheryl and Maks did a great rumba but Jessica Simpson absolutely butchered that Robbie Williams track and I say this as someone who abhors that song. But, she was beyond awful. She opens her mouth wide and it's like looking into a tunnel.

Thrilled that Kim is gone. She is a abysmal and she was not going to improve. She's a personality free zone. I won't miss her.

B-Free's dance was pretty entertaining. The guy from TPD was utterly useless with the ribbon. Why was he in this performance exactly? Talentless. And the actress should probably stick to acting, she's not much of a dancer. But it was a fun dance to watch, especially the last 1/3.
sweetpd7
Kim, thankfully, we hardly knew ye. Mark's not one of my fav men pros, so I won't miss him. Hopefully, Cloris will join Kim next week and all will be right with DWtS world.

I don't want to say Jessica Simpson was really awful at country. "Come on Over," was a catchy country tune. (I FF'ed the other one.) But she doesn't "sound" country. She also tended to garble the lyrics at points.

I was amazed we learned Rocco was safe at the start. Wow, an actual surprise. That made me happily await either Kim or Cloris' departure. Wow, wasn't that Samantha-ish of Tom after Kim dedicated her dancing to her dead father to ask Mark about his father. Poor Mark, stumbled over something to the effect of looking up to him and thankful he's alive. Awkward!

Glad to see Kym and Warren do the Paso for an encore.

I thought the bit about Len and Bruno traveling somewhat tedious. Didn't they do a similar segment last year?

Seeing the celebrities in the Red Room had some cute reactions and funny moments.
SanLynn
Buh Bye Kim. Never liked her and I'm not sorry to see her go. I'm shocked as all hell that it wasn't Rocco though.

I was thrilled to see Pasha and Anya. I get the feeling that if the show had their way Pasha would have been a pro instead of Lacey but that's probably just me.

On a final note, how in the hell does Jessica Simpson sell any records at all? She has one god-awful live voice. They must do some serious mixing on her studio tracks.
yesenializ
YAY for Pasha and Anya! Looooved every second of their dance!

I sensed Mark could not contain his happiness when he learned he was in the bottom two. Must be a relief. I thought, good on him, and then Kim mentioned her deceased father and I felt bad... I still think she can't dance, though.

Interesting they made Lance and Lacey sweat it out. It was a brilliant set-up, really. First Tom mentions the "surprise elimination" and then they show Lacey defiantly telling Lance to "see what America says" (in discussing the judges' feedback). Tonight is when I realized I would not have been heartbroken if they left, (and considering that would leave Cloris and Kim in the competition, that is saying a lot). I can't bring myself to care about Lacey and Lance. Le sigh...
O2Sean
I hope this doesn't mean Rocco will get a boost in votes. He barely moves his hips, or much else. If he improves as a dancer, fine, but if not then I don't want him (or Cloris) to take anyone else's place.

Jessica Simpson had a brief career as a Britney Spears clone 10 years ago. Then she got famous for being married to Nick Lachey and acting like a moron. Why is she still screeching at us? Can't she do something she's good at, like making bitchy remarks about Carrie Underwood, or bleaching her hair?

I was thrilled to see Pasha and Anya. I get the feeling that if the show had their way Pasha would have been a pro instead of Lacey but that's probably just me.

They don't have any spots for a new male pro. I do wonder if they have plans for Anya.
spanana
Once they didn't save Kim early on I figured she was as good as gone. Then when they had her standing next to Cloris with like a minute left to spare, it had to be her leaving. There is no way they are going to limit Cloris to a minute when she finally gets kicked off. Not only can they not contain Cloris to a minute, but I'm sure the show will make a much bigger deal upon her leaving.

Pasha and Anya! Yay! Can one of them sub for Lacey?

I also enjoyed the Maks/Cheryl rhumba. What I didn't enjoy however was Jessica Simpson killing Angels.
harvestbasket
Mark looked like he wanted to go home since this results show began. Did you see right before they went to commercial break? He didn't want to be near Kim at all.
I saw that too and I do not remember a pro doing that on the show before. I do not think Mark hated it as much as people thought, but yeah, he definitely did not seem to invested this season. I do not blame him. Not sorry to see Kim leave. The right person left this week. Loved that Lacey/Lance had to sweat it out.

Loved that red room clip. I am going to play "where's Cody" next week.

Darn producers! I had to watch Jessica Simpson because the amazing Anya and Pasha were performing. Watching those two, the more I wish Anya was on the show over Lacey. That rumba by Cheryl and Maks was great, but hate Jessica's voice.

Oh, love Brian Friedman! Now, Macy's Stars of Dance, just bring on Dave Scott.
scootman
Must say I disagree with the "Mark is Free" theory. The guy got two great partners -- some called them ringers -- handed to him, and he won with one of them. Big Whoop. He finally gets a project, and she doesn't improve in three dances? He actually had to teach this time, and I wasn't impressed. This is as much his failure as it is hers, IMO.
WaltzinSpringTm
Wow, Jessica Simpson is just so bad. Verging on amateurish. Her songs aren't even bad, but the performance! I just want to sic Simon Cowell on her.

I want to know what products Cheryl is using on her hair because I have never seen it look this fantastic in her six seasons, and I've always liked her hair. Shiny and bouncy beyond belief.

I like seeing the little glint that starts appearing in Kym's eye when she has a contender, and I'm enjoying so much how much this seems to mean to Warren. There are a bunch of celebs who are very serious about this as there are every year, sometimes to their detriment, but it seems to mean a lot to Warren for all the right reasons. It's also a good sign, IMO, that his performance improved from last night to tonight's encore. That means, IMO, that Kym is getting his technical legs under him.

I just "knew" it was going to be Maks and Misty's turn to get the squeeze until the last possible second. I also figured when Maks got a gander at his rehearsal edit he was going to be slightly cringing, and I enjoyed his entire contrite face in confessional while Misty defended him.

I liked seeing gossipy things like noticing Cheryl gave Kim more than a courtesy consolation hug, so I guess Kim's former bff status with Paris Hilton is forgiven. I also liked that outside the circle of consolation Maks, Tony and Karina were in nothing but party mode. Those were three happy pros.

Lance and Lacey continue to bug - they are inflating their importance. "Our job is to entertain America." Setting it up as if doing the actual dance couldn't possibly achieve that. It feels so much as if the obnoxious is being driven by Lance, yet others seem to think this is typical "poor Lacey". I could see it being either but I don't like Lance at all.

I'm glad Cloris is staying. I just thought she was better than Kim last night.
harvestbasket
Poor Mark, stumbled over something to the effect of looking up to him and thankful he's alive. Awkward!
Yeah, it tad awkward but thankfully we all know what he meant. But I did feel bad for Kim for just a moment when she mentioned her dad. I will to dislike her and abhor her famewhore mother.
MDKNIGHT
YES! Kim no talent Kardashian is beaten by a hundred year old woman who can barely move. I couldn't be happier. I hope she's embarassed.

My mom said the Macy's dance troup thing with the electric lights reminds her of stuff we've seen at Great Adventures. I have to agree with her there.
O2Sean
He finally gets a project, and she doesn't improve in three dances? He actually had to teach this time, and I wasn't impressed. This is as much his failure as it is hers.

I think Kim did improve. It just wasn't enough.

No teacher can work miracles. With the limited training time Kim and Mark had, along with her complete lack of rhythm and her disinterest in getting over herself enough to truly learn, I think he did as well as anyone else could have done.
SanLynn
I sensed Mark could not contain his happiness when he learned he was in the bottom two. Must be a relief.

Yeah it was weird seeing him so relieved. When he was with Sabrina and Kristy you could always tell how tense he was and how much he wanted to stay. I didn't get any of those vibes from him tonight.

Also, see ya later alligator as a final song? Fantastic and spot on. That was great.
Fellaway
I don't know Pasha and Anya from the man in the moon, but I did enjoy their dance, even if they seemed out of synch with each other on a few moves.

Glad Kim went home, though I was almost hoping it'd be Lance and Lacey after their comments yesterday and Lacey's smug "we'll see what America thinks" tonight. Children, if "being yourselves" means it's too painful for you to keep within the dance move parameters of the ballroom dance show you signed up for, why did you sign up for a ballroom dance show?
O2Sean
What will happen now with Cloris? I know some fans who vote fervently for her because they think she's entertainment and who were appalled the judges had a negative word for her. Will she leave soon, or will she get the pity vote and the trainwreck vote for months to come?
Tasya
Seemed to me that in that clip they were clearing joking but I could be wrong.
spanana
I'd guess Lance/Lacey were in no danger, but sweating it out was their punishment. I'm easy, I enjoyed watching them freak out.

I'm still not sold on Warren completely. He's okay, but in a way I feel like he's coasting on the fact that the expectations for him were lower coming into this season.

It's also nice to see Alec get to stick around for more than a few weeks. I'm rooting for Toni in part because of Alec.
sweetpd7
This is as much his failure as it is hers.

Mark is not my favorite, but I wouldn't blame Kim's inability to dance on him anymore than I'd blame Jeff's (? how quickly I forget) awful dancing on Edyta. Mark is very competitive, and I'm sure he did all he could to help Kim. Them not feeling closeness after a relatively short time, doesn't mean Mark hates her or didn't try to teach her.

She's not an athlete or a performer (I don't consider a scripted reality tv show real acting). The fact that Brooke has done so well with no dancing experience is that it probably comes more naturally, or easier to her. Kim just couldn't pick things up fast enough, she really was about on skill's par with Monica Seles, just a bit more graceful in her motions.

I'm just happy she's gone and didn't stay past folks willing to put in the hours and the sweat to get better.
SanLynn
They don't have any spots for a new male pro. I do wonder if they have plans for Anya.

Oh I can think of a couple they could replace. Yes Corky I'm looking at you. It wouldn't hurt Derek or Tony to take a season off either.

Lance and Lacey continue to bug - they are inflating their importance. "Our job is to entertain America."

I get a Karina/Mario Lopez vibe off those two and I have to say it's not doing them any favors. Not with the judges and I suspect not with America.
WaltzinSpringTm
You said it Fellaway. I don't get Lance and Lacey's premise at all. Dudes, it's a ballroom dance show. It gets huge ratings. I don't see the huge audience bitching at how bored they are with ballroom and how much they wish more dancers would come on and show their cool moves from their highschool drill teams or "talent" shows. "We don't care about Len, we want to entertain America with our sloppy dancing and mediocre choreographic ideas!"

I don't get the feeling "America" is all that interested in the phony controversy/cause celebre' they're trying to make of themselves. They don't get water-coolered in the media the next day other than passing eye rolls and snark.
O2Sean
Oh I can think of a couple they could replace. Yes Corky I'm looking at you. It wouldn't hurt Derek to take a season off either.

Derek has a big fan base. If he was pushed off the show for Pasha, that might get a backlash Pasha wouldn't deserve.

I don't think we'll be seeing what Corky's capable of this season, but I think if he ever did leave or was fired, he'd be replaced by Jonathan or Louis, unless they're no longer involved with the show.

I would like to see Tony rotated out for a season, but I don't think that's ever going to happen. I also wouldn't be shocked if Mark took a season off.
isiscloud
OK. Rocco and Karina have serious crushes on each other. It's so cute.

Karina having a crush on her amateur? Really??

Of course I missed Anya & Pasha since I wasn't actually watching Jess (why would I?) Thankfully, I have it on DVR that I can watch!!

B. Free's dance was very Wade except without the Zombies.

As strange as this sounds, I hoped that Cloris had gone home rather than Kim. When it came down to it. Not that she's any better than Cloris. I can't put my finger on it.

This season just isn't wowing me. Maybe it's just too close to last season.
harvestbasket
Must say I disagree with the "Mark is Free" theory. The guy got two great partners -- some called them ringers -- handed to him, and he won with one of them. Big Whoop. He finally gets a project, and she doesn't improve in three dances? He actually had to teach this time, and I wasn't impressed. This is as much his failure as it is hers, IMO.
I never thought Mark's strength is his teaching, but I think he did the best he could with Kim. I really do not think she would have done better especially if her excitement seems to be about the costumes. But I agree, I do not feel bad for him there. He had two ringers, one people thought would be the finals and the other was the closest thing to a guarantee win. Everyone gets their dud. I am sure he'll be back next season with a better celeb.

waltzinspringtm-I noticed the three happy pros in the consolation circle. Yeah, I enjoy those little moments and I am hating Lance as much as Lacey. I thought Joey Fatone was annoying, but Lance is grating.

I hope Anya and Pasha's performance opens the door for their participation on the show. Though I do not see a spot available on the male pro side unless they take Corky out. I am fine with Pasha over Corky.

As soon as Kim or Cloris were not called safe quickly, I knew one of those two were leaving. They just had to work their father/son competition angle. Yeah, no one cares about the family rivalries.
PBGamer89
Tony, Cheryl, and Edyta need a break

Edyta's done every season and Tony and Cheryl have done every season since their Season 2 Debut. Those 3 need a season break.

People are growing tired of their choreography and a season break could leave fans wanting them back even more a la Maks.
WaltzinSpringTm
I don't think Kim did improve, myself. Her best dance was the foxtrot, her mambo was worse, and her rumba was barely desultory.

Tom sort of lied at the top of the show. He led me on. He said that since nobody knew the bottom two, our celebrities were in for a shock (or surprise) tonight.

No, we weren't. A surprise would have been someone other than Rocco, Cloris or Kim.
spanana
I thought Joey Fatone was annoying, but Lance is grating.

I didn't care for Fatone, but in his favor he was not only a better dancer than Lance seems to be, but he also had a pro that balanced out his personality a bit. Not to mention Kym is pretty clever with the routines. Lance would probably be more tolerable with a different pro.
harvestbasket
"We don't care about Len, we want to entertain America with our sloppy dancing and mediocre choreographic ideas!"
LMAO, thanks waltzinspringtm! Word to your earlier post as well on Lacey and Lance. This show also has a larger audience than SYTYCD so I think the viewers are fine with just ballroom dancing.

I am hoping they bring back the bottom 2 next week. I am nervous to see how the stars are actually stacking up right now, but curious.

Re: Warren, IA that the lower expectations are working to his advantage. For me, he is so much better than I imagined but I also think his attitude is helping as well. Of course I do not want him to win. I want Toni or Brooke at the end.

Pasha is also short so realistically, not sure if he could join the show unless replacing Corky, Mark or Louis (since they are the shorter ones).

spanana-IA with your point about Joey and Kym in comparison to Lacey. Kym is stellar.
loveisthedrug
Lance would probably be more tolerable with a different pro.

ITA. The celeb is in the pro's world on this show and will most likely buy into whatever their pro is selling. That's why I dislike Lacey more than Lance (even though he's not that great a dancer and his personality is seriously starting to bug) because I feel like he's just going along with Lacey's "edgy" schtick. Too bad he wasn't paired with Ashly. Stupid producers.
O2Sean
I think Lance will do whatever gets him attention. I think Lacey's also doing the same. I think Lance is actively encouraging controversy.

It seems like Joey got the ringer controversy much more than Lance has, maybe because no one cares about Lance.
ARCact
I wanted Cloris to go home because I like Mark. Though I agree that he's less disappointed than he otherwise might be if he had a different partner. The tip off for me was when he didn't use his "rumba is a vertical representation of a horizontal desire" line in the rehearsal footage.

But I'm clearly in the a minority because I loved Lacey & Lance's paso. They got about half my votes. I really like Lacey. She reminds me a bit of Lucy Griffiths, Marian on the BBC Robin Hood. I like that she doesn't look unhealthy-skinny or ridiculously tiny. And yes, I was a teeny-bopper. Backstreet Boys were more my group, but I had some N'Sync posters, too.

I'm glad to see Julianne and Cody are doing okay. I adore her and really missed her last season when she and Adam got ditched so soon.
oakgal
Pasha is also short so realistically, not sure if he could join the show unless replacing Corky, Mark or Louis (since they are the shorter ones).

I think he's about 5'9", so he's more than tall enough. Most of the women who come on the show are much shorter than that and if a tall one comes on, she gets Maks or Tony. So, I don't think height is a hinderance.
ShadowDenizen
They don't have any spots for a new male pro.

Couldn't they have teamed Pasha up with Lance? THAT would give the show a much-needed shot in the arm! (And it would save us from having to deal with Lacey for the next few weeks!!)
