From Zap2it:
The Justice League heads to the Arctic to look for Clark after the collapse of the fortress; Chloe is held prisoner by a group who has discovered she has a new power; Jor-El strips Clark of his powers.

Also, is it just me or was at the end, was Lois looking like Kate Bosworth from Superman: Returns?

In a nutshell:
This episode is the best I've seen since Justice.
Clark says three or four times that he's not gonna let Chloe be trapped, he's gonna rescue her, etc.
Chlark hug seemed inches away from a Chlark kiss, there was so much emotion in it.
Clark begs Chloe not to heal him.
And Tess rocks!
Lex's 4 am booty call > Lois Lane
They might be pimping Cnois, but OMG, this show to me felt a whole lot like Chlark.
And, I loved the action too.

Did anyone else have massive technical problems with their CW? The audio sounded strange, and the picture was way off. The picture was cutting off words, I thought I was watching Mallvill and Green Arrow was played by Justin Hart. During the commercials everything was fine.
The return of the Martian Manhunter was awesome. Hopefully he does comeback.
Not as awesome was the fact that Clark was dying and the first thing he remembers is Lana. Come on, Jonathan and Martha shouldn't take a backseat to Lana. We were so close to her being gone, but nope that's the first thing Clark remembers. Why did that have to happen?
Not a bad episode, it was no "Exile".

This episode was fairly good till the last part you all know what I'm talking about. Of course we saw it coming but deep down I thought they might have an explanation but nope. Hearing about it was one thing but actually seeing Clark getting shoehorned into the Daily Planet in all it's stupidity wow wow. Who thought one scene could ruin an otherwise good episode

Loved every bit of it!!! Except for MM losing his powers.
I loved Lois and Oliver and I'm looking forward to their increased presence on the show.
I loved Tess and I think that if it were possible to come close to filling the huge gap left by Lex, she came as close as possible.
Loved Chloe. She was outstanding without upstaging Clark, and I can't wait to see what is going on with her.
I even loved Chlimmy, and I hate them. But for the first time ever they were believable and had chemistry. I doubt it will last, but for this one episode, it made sense to me.
And the number one love goes to Clark. That's the kind of Clark I want to see. I loved that he realized he had to let go.

Either lighting/makeup or off-season surgery, I guess.
Her hair is also a lot darker. I think its ED's natural color. It looked like they finally decided to actually style her hair this year, and soften her makeup, as opposed to every other year when her hair would just be in a frizzy ponytail.
Anyway, LOVED seeing Justin Hartley in the opening credits. I am so happy he is a regular.
So now Chloe can't heal, but she is a super genius? I am very confused. But that will definitely come in handy.

Clark won't let Chloe heal him, because he knows what happens when she heals. It's a very telling thing. I think there's got to be some cooperation involved and desire to live. That's what I got. He rather die himself than let her risk her own life.

I am pleased. It was a great episode, well rounded, but with hole.
I have to say this but they should have ended it with Clark walking down the street with the Superman music in the background. The Clois DP scene really didn't fit, at least not for me.
Speaking of Clois, they are siblings, that's what I got.
I am shocked with Chlark though, a tight hug, her hands almost around his neck,
And then Chloe trying to save him, him whispering No, that he "Don't want to lose you"
It is just all good.
Tess, I love her. I love her!!
Lois, I don't get her at all. How she get into Black Creek with the cover of ordering people?
Biggest WTF, chlimmy.
Jimmy said he was looking everywhere and it was just Lois and Clark.
And Chloe saying Jimmy is perfect after seeing Clark die in her arms after saving her... Gawd so sick.

ED looks lovely with the darker hair. Boo, though, to the sudden competence. Why didn't she hand over the flashdrive to Tess? Is she *gasp!* learning?
Why the hell couldn't Chloe save Clark?
So Brainiac downloaded some of his IQ into Chloe? Or she drew it out of him when he touched her? Shit, is she going to be a Rogue, or a Sylar? No, no, no!
Worse marriage proposal acceptance ever. My only solace is that it parallels Clana's "I-love-you-because-I'm-a-freak-and-you-represent-the-normalacy-I-so-desire-that-you-are-perfect" storyline so well, it must be doomed to fail.

"So what was the point of Nois tonight?
Why, to remind us that she's the General's daughter, of course. Oh, and lest one forget, to remind us why Chloe is so much better for Clark. Even when Chloe didn't know about Clark's powers, she treated him like a person instead of a moron. I loathe the Clois dynamic for that very reason. It used to grate on my nerves when THLois treated DCClark the way she did early on, but at least she had some excuse because she was senior to him and more experienced. On what grounds does SVLois get to talk to Clark like that after all this time of knowing him and calling him her friend?
Thankfully, that was the only little bit of Clois I saw. I muted and ignored the rest of it. Interesting parallels between Clark and Chloe with each trying to escape and get back home and also "move on."

I was hoping to be pleasantly surprised, but it was (sadly) about what I expected. Lois is suddenly competent. Clark suddenly wants to be a superhero who works at the Daily Planet. Chloe suddenly has a new superpower (that would make her perfectly suited to become Oracle).
All of these changes happened in Hiatusville, unless you count Clark's near-death epiphany while being saved by a literal deus ex machina, which I am inclined not to do. Since this is about his tenth epiphany, and his second death, I'm not sure why this one is different from the others.
The one bright spot for me is that Chloe's acceptance of Jimmy's proposal paraphrases to, "Well, I figure I might as well stop waiting for the BDA, so..."

I just love that bit so much. She's just admitted to the audience (as though it wasn't obvious) that she's with Jimmy only because she can't have Clark.
As for what I saw, the Clois bits were just on the mark. Every bit of sibling relationship. I agree with whoever said that this episode felt especially Chlarky despite the Chlimmy and Clois bits.

Lex's absence definitely has left a major void. He was the opposing force for everyone on the show and I don't think they'll be able to replace that. Clark and Chloe are the only pair of original characters left and the adult characters are all gone. So it's up to the younger group.
That being said, there was some good and promising stuff here. Oliver now being a part of the regular cast. Chloe's new powers. Lois's great legs. The Oliver/Clark fight. Oliver shooting Clark through the chest with an arrow was pretty cool. Very good to see a pro-active Clark but knowing the show, he'll regress two steps next week. Clark and Lois's interaction was quite good as well.
BTW, when Phil Morris showed up, was anyone expecting him to ask Clark...

I liked this as well. She admitted, without naming names, that her heart has been focused on someone besides Jimmy for most of her life. Not the best way to accept a proposal. Nice way to remind the audience that Chloe has had non-platonic feelings for Clark for a very long time.

It just occurred to me that almost all the Lois scenes were released on the internet before the show aired. Why did they do that?
Anyway, some thoughts.
Is it just me or has AC's acting improved?
Clark dying in Chloe's arms was almost a mirror of Chloe's death scene in Labyrinth.
MM was under used again. I hope they devote an episode to him in the future, maybe one where he gets his powers back.
Whoever said Lois was useless in the episode was right. It fits their pattern (Combat, Fracture). You can remove her from the ep and it doesn't really affect much.

I can't wait for Omar's recap. I look forward to his observations on the following scenes: where Regan somehow thinks GA can find out where Lex is (you know, in a 33.1 facility. In Montana. I don't think Lois' competence is going to last.
She wasn't competent at all, Chloe warned Lois to turn around, Lois never did and was tazered.
If she was competent you would think she would have called her Uncle to send a team to rescue his niece.
She was a plot device. She was used to protect Clark to take him to Chloe, and was knocked out accordingly.
it was a great, great moment.
It didn't fit. How it was edited, I was expecting it to end with Clark walking down the street after talking with the JL. That entire scene was put in there just to put Clark at the DP. No wonder that website said it was Contrived.
I do love how next week's trailer focused on plastique and not so much about Clois.

There I was, missing Lex but enjoying my Lana-less ep, only suddenly to be smacked between the eyes with Lana-in-bed-with-Clark and general-dewy-eyed-Lana. Whom Clark thought of before anyone else, of course. Well, at least it was only for a brief instant.
If he'd seen a vision of Lex, I'd have been so happy...
I couldn't help wondering if anyone on the current writing team remembers that Lex used to spend summers with his mother at a ranch in Montana. Unless that was only a fabricated memory.

My time zome is different, so I have a bit over an hour again..but this tidbit from Chloe could go both ways (which is why I'm still skeptic about Chlark).
If she is saying to Jimmy that her focus on things she wanted in the past stopped her from seeing what was right in front of her, couldn't that mean that she's saying she's now finally, and happily over Clark? Thus paving the open road free for the pushing of Clois without any concern for how the cousin would feel because she's over Clark?
The other thing: Personally, I don't need to be reminded of how much Chloe loves Clark, PS3, because if all Clark does on his side is "reconsider feelings" and don't act on it, or embrace it, then all I'm reminded of is how much Chloe loves this man and the fact that he can fall in love with anyone but her.
Neither of those options makes me happy. Looking forward to the new season here though.

My first observation was that in the Tess/Nois scene Tess not only dropped a death anvil for Nois, but also told her flat out that Nois is most certainly NOT a French Maid (i.e. Not Cinderella... who is a french maiden) and that Nois is playing dress up. CLANG and CLANG and BANG!!! That made me smile.
Chlark reunion hug along with Chloe actually saying "I've been waiting for you" to Clark. CLANG!
What's interesting as well is that Chloe's reason for saying yes that she says is that she's been waiting for something (i.e. Clark) for so long she's been missing other things... which is the turn of the triangle since we know very soon Clark will be pursuing HER. (I also think it's her pulling a Clana and running straight for NORMAL after her little superbrain freakout).
And they have an ALLEY set!!! ACTION META IS ON!!! Tess is going to blow Nois the phony French maid (so NOT Cinderella) away in the alley and it's going to be awesome. TESS FTW!!!
I am officially stoked about this season now.

couldn't that mean that she's saying she's now finally, and happily over Clark?
Not really. It could mean she's accepted that her and Clark will never be anything more and see that Jimmy is her only option. She's still love Clark but is resigning herself that that option is just meant to be. She's settling for Jimmy. Makes sense with why in
Committed the relationship is being put to test by the madman..

I caught these final scenes in the last few minutes,
Iconic. It actually did work, imo. It finally gives the answers for why Clark goes to the Planet. I can live with it. In my view, this was so NOT about Cnois. The key is the final League/CK chat with dual identities and mentions of Lex--"He knows my secret", and Tess is the deceptive new CEO, so finding Lex won't be easy. Hello, Daily Planet. Suddenly, those scenes segue to CK at the Planet because Clark now knows Tess is the new CEO. Where better to start the investigation than right there? I can live with it--it at least gives Clark a thoughtful reason for going there. It isn't about CK suddenly deciding, "Yay, journalism" so much as it seemed to be about, "Where's Lex, Tess?" YMMV.

SV, oh my gosh, I'm so surprised I thoroughly enjoyed watching you tonight!
Likes:
- TESS MERCER, FTW. I know it sucks that Lex is gone, but wow, Tess is just...I LOVE her. I mean, I love her. I love that she didn't put up with Nois' crap and had her escorted out just like Lex did, threatened the other Luthorcorp guy in her way, wore black, and took over while sitting in the desk chair (symbolism, much?). She is just one of the reasons I'm watching this season and Cassidy Freeman, you did not let me down. So, I thank you.
- Death of Superman symbolism. Thanks for that Chloisy image, SV. Oh, and Biblical imagery, much? Nice touch.
- Production value was wonderful. Beautiful lighting, camera work, and the bada** music from "Aqua" and "Justice" was back.
- JLA rocks my socks off. Cracked me up that they were using Isis and Black Canary in yellow (Yellow Raven? Hee). Dinah's playin' with the boys just fine :)
- The new Metropolis set is an alley set! "Action" meta, anyone? Chris24601, you beat me to it. Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed it. It looked way too much like the movie scene / alley set up in "Action" for it not to be on purpose. YMMV.
- More Clark / Manhunter scenes, please.
- Nois hitting the floor after being nailed with the stun-gunned made me LOL for like, 10 minutes. It was almost as funny as the stormtrooper hitting his head in Star Wars: A New Hope.
- Chloe was "waiting" for Clark? Thanks for that nod to the "Fever" letter, guys. Duely noted. :)
- Chlark hugs are always nice.
- Chloe fighting for herself and stopping the number giveaway when she realized it was Oliver's.
- Reworked opening titles that don't suck! S6 goes down as the worst titles EVER, but, these were nice and in the right order. Sam Witwer looks so freaking evil that it made me so freaking giddy.
- Jimmy is still the male Lana (Lana was "perfect", too, in "Lexmas") and Chimmy is still doomed.
Dislikes:
- Nois is a walking character of contrivance. She randomly goes to get a French Maid outfit (Could that have been any shorter, by the way? Did she get that at her Strippers 'R Us store where she has an account and charge card?), randomly gets inside the mansion, can bust open a Luthor vault of super secret information with a Black & Decker screwdriver, and can somehow go undercover at a Luthorcorp facility in Montana, and the only way it's explained is that she's charming or some junk? Oh, please, Show. I don't buy it for a penny.
- All Clark does is fill out an application and immediately, he gets a reporter status and nameplate at The Daily Planet? Man, I bet S1-S5 Chloe had known that. She wouldn't have worked so hard if it was that easy.
Overall, I quite enjoyed myself. Surprisingly. But, I think I laughed at things I shouldn't have, which helped :)

Umm...okay. So now Nois is the "intrepid reporter" and Chloe is the "out of work newspaper hack"?
*runs off to vomit profusely*
Nois. is. so. unnecessary.
The Chlark stuff, again, is what gives the show any depth. I squeed when she tried to save him. The last scene should've been between those two rather than some stupid bullshit with Clark and Nois.
I was sad to see that Chloe's awesome "Thirst" shot walking into the DP with her box was cut. Makes me feel less hopeful that she'll see any sort of redemption.
Well, at least they did a good job trying to make of for the loss of Clex. Did Oliver really BUY CLARK? And to "finish him off"? I'm still giggling at that.
I hate Nois.

Yes Marina :) (and Oh, unless you watch Grey's Anatomy or Survivor), you can catch the Canadian viewing on SUNTV at 8.00 (so this will be the last Thursday ever for me to actually watch anything live again. Stupid SunTV).
Anyhoo.
I liked the episode very much. And I must be one of the very few that actually like Lois, and after having a Smallville-thon to get ready for the season premiere, I have to wonder how much of the New Lois Look (shorter darker natural look) has more for Erica saying "Hey, look", or the fact that KK is gone and they actually NEEDED a brunette?) (As in the commentary when ED was hired they stated they actually went with a Blond Lois because they had the Brunette Lana, where in Canon it's always been the reverse).
I agree with the Shirtless Hartley. Major. Yum.O. And Scruffy Clark. Double Yum. O. (More Scruff. More Shirtless).
I actually missed out on WHY the MM lost his powers (well I didn't, I caught the explaination) but did he say it could come back? Just that little part please for Sienna :)
I am liking the Lexabee. (I have to wonder if Tess had a thing for Lex). Now also wondering if the crystal will re-start the FoS & Jor-EL.Hmm.
The last bit with Clois made a lot of sense to me. Especially with the whole "holding on" part before it, and the Ollie/Clark conversation about dual identies. (I wasn't certain, it went so fast: Was Clark with the glasses part of last season or are we going to see more glasses?)
And I have to wonder not ONE mention of Kara. At all? No where is Kara? At ALL?

It was just so stupid in my opinion. He's already working at Lois's level. (Never mind the fact how badly she was shoehorned into the planet) who's been there for roughly a year. And at least Lois had probably written more articles for the Torch then Clark had and had some newspaper experience even if it was a tabloid. Sure, but I wouldn't say it's a new development (see Kara). The build up works though, imo. League + Clark on the streets, and there's "Where's Lex", and "he knows my secret"..... "Good luck, because Tess is the deceptive new CEO". Scene plays directly into , "Hi, Lois". It's probably the very best reasoning that we're going to get, so I'm ok with it given that the show could've offered nothing at all to hint at the how's & why's.
She mentioned the Mail room, which could imply that when Lois handed Clark the application, the Intern who took Chloe's job was in the mail room.
I'd argue that it was hypocritical. Nois per diem going to JP concerts and flying around on the DP coin while Chloe had workled her butt off to try to get ahead. It's a karmic payback, in one respect. YMMV.
