So those of us who live in the PD thread were talking about hmmmmmm moments both in GA and in other films, as well as his Scotch drinking face (and those of you who don't know what that means should probably just leave now. This thread isn't for you.) In the interest of staying on topic and out of trouble in the PD thread while compiling a comprehensive list of those Great Moments in Patrick Dempsey History, here is a thread for that purpose.

Indigo has a pretty good list already underway which I trust she'll bring here. Although I have no means to verify it at the moment, I'm pretty sure there is a Scotch Face in Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer near the end when Derek goes to Joe's and gets his drink, right before Addison calls out to him.

OK, let the list-compiling begin. Again, this can be from ANY film or whatever, not just GA. We members of the Patrick Dempsey Research Foundation are nothing if not thorough.

I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure we get scotch face in the epi where we also get Derek playing angry darts. This is a double whammy ladies. Can't remember the epi title just know that it is angry darts scotch face episode! :D - Yep, 2.25. Checked this out and I would vote this my fave!

ETA I think scotch face is also in an early season 2 epi when Derek is at Joe's with Bailey discussing the fact that Meredith and Addison kissed him the same day. I will have to research that one though..Yep, just checked it's 2.04 right at the beginning.

Also in 2.08 With Savvy and Weiss in Joe's after Weiss does a toast to bull and crap!

2.12 In the bar with Addison at Xmas when he tells her he fell in love with Meredith.

On a roll here, 2.22 when Meredith is knitting in the bar and he tells her she looks a little weird.

3.01 Mer and Der flashback scene, not quite the scotch face but he does take a sip which is quite sexy in itself :)

We see scotch face in Where the Boys Are (3.07), but minus the scotch. It's the very same face though, I swear. When he has asked Mer to start over and get to know each other. Mer looks from Der to Mark and back and forth and he makes the face when he is wanting her to say yes.

Can I just say that if the research for my uni assignments was anywhere near as fun as this, I'd be getting full marks everytime, lol

he MmmmHmmmms in 107 when he's talking to George about Mer (it doesn't really have the same effect though because he's with George)

it's not quite a full MmmmHmmm but in 108 when he's leaving Mer's bathroom and he touches her, I think that should be included

also in 108 is the one on the catwalk with Mer's "I'm not flexible" and at the end outside of his trailer, but it's more of a thinking Hmmm

He did the "thinking hmmmm..." in the sneak peek with Dr. Hahn, Richard and Mark.

If you haven't read it I highly recommend it.

The hmmmmmm in the elevator with Meredith in the episode when they go away for the weekend.

He did a great one in 1.02 The First Cut is the Deepest. Mer asks him if he has been at the hospital all night keeping an eye on Allison. He answers with a delicious mmmm that goes up in pitch at the end.

And another one in the same episode right before he says "I want to marry you."

Ok I think there was one in the final scene of the finale but it was all kinds of cocky but I still think it qualified. It was right after her showed her the champagne bottle.

There's a longer, sexier "hmmmmm" after he says "that's the room where the kids can play?"
