I never realized that Ida didn't have a thread. She's the neighbor who always seems to discover the dead bodies on Wisteria Lane, but I'll always see her as the Velveeta Lady after those commercials the actress did a while back.

So now we know that Ida is a homophobe. Check that off.

Oh, I love Ida! McClusky usually gets the spotlight when it comes to the seniors, but she's great in her own right.

She was also a drinker until the season 2 opener, wasn't she?

I love Ida! The little old ladies of the Lane deserve more screentime. McCluskey gets some, but Ida and Alberta need it as well. I loved her in last week's episode, with the whole gay and fascism/fashion thing. Hehe.

*sniff* Goodbye, Ida. Hope you're playing 3rd base in Heaven.

Seriously, I was really touched by the idea that she put the children where they would be safest and took her chances out in the open basement. It seems the kind of thing an older woman would do. She knows she's got a limited time left, even with the best circumstances, but the children's lives are just beginning.

It was also really cool to learn a little about her life. I wish some of that had been explored while she was still alive.
