Bob and Lee's front-yard water sculpture prompts the neighborhood association into action; Edie finds out about the affair Carlos is having with Gaby; the Solis' former gardener, John (Jesse Metcalfe), wants to rekindle his romance with Gaby.

I really liked it. Much better than last week.
LOVED Gablos and especially Carlos and John's talk. But awwww... it cannot end. The whole storyline is about to explode since Edie knows.
LOVED Bree's plot, and Phyllis actually was tolerable, especially at the end!
LOVED the beginning with the whole neighborhood and the fountain. "What the hell is it?"
Was kind of blah on Katherine vs. Lynette until Susan voted twice(LOL). I knew she'd pick Katherine because she hates that fountain. But it all ended well(of course).
Blackmail! I love it.
Tons of great quotes... the best I think was "That way people will know your balls belong to me". Heh.

That was just ridiculously good.
I love that we're addressing Katherine's bizarre dichotomy, between wanting to throw Lynette a chemo party and wanting to throw down with Bree and Gaby, it's just really nice that it's a character and a plot point.
I love Lee! Comparing Katherine to the Nazis was brilliant.
I love that we're hitting all the different aspects of Lynette's cancer. This is exactly what Marc Cherry was talking about, this isn't a live or die thing, it's a "How does your illness effect your friends and family?". Oh, and Felicity broke my heart at the end with Lynette thinking she brought the cancer into the house.
LOVE Bree and Orson so easily manipulating Danielle. That girl is as quick as dryer lint.
Favorite line:
Mrs. McCluskey (to Bree about Orson): Your son came flying out of the closet and your husband's looking for the doorknob.

Considering it was a fairly solid episode. Loved Carlos and his reactions in the closet, also liked him realizing that he's the gardener in Gabby's new situation. Still, I will always wonder why 1) Gabby is still there, and why 2) it took a swarm of boys to do one-to-two people's job. Also, I wonder how she paid them considering that one she slept with and the other got a look at her goods and lost some digits.
As for the whole fountain thing I am in what is probably a small camp of loathing the gay couple and am hoping that Katherine or somebody stomps them with her neighborhood traditionalist boot heels. They feel like a stereotype of bitchiness and even they should have some clue to how water hitting metal at odd hours of the morning would make anyone hate their "work of art" and it might not even be ABOUT the artistic value itself, though I will say that 20+ thousands of dollars for crap still makes for crap. Work on a better gay couple, Cherry. Liked how they are tying in with the mystery though.
And my Bree love still lives. I loved how Andrew helped her and Orson to manipulate Danielle. Plot of their storyline may be 1950s BS, but they are working it.

I HATE BREE! I hate the way she's manipulating her own daughter to get what she wants, and not letting Phyllis have any part of this child's life. Please, please, PLEASE let this charade be outed! I really DO feel like Danielle wants this baby. Bree cares more about apperances than this child's well-being.
I thought that was so horrible of Lynette to put Susan in that position, but they have a cute friendship. But Tom is right, she DOES need to put more focus on getting better.
Tuc in a bathrobe?? WE NEED MORE!
Blech, John. But at least he's now gone. And aww at all Gablos. I'm glad it was cleared up that Gabby's not just having an affair to have one, she really loves Carlos.
Not much Edie, but at least she knows. Serves her right.
Very big of Katherine at the end. And ooh, this Adam mystery is heating up. And go Bob and Lee! (but that is one ugly fountain)

Not as good I as thought it would be, but still better than last week.
If TPTB can remember that Tammy's a hotel heiress, then why can't they remember that Danielle's 17th birthday was at the end of S2, and Edie's birthday was at the end of S3?
So it's OK for Bree to use Danielle's baby to make herself feel better, but Phyllis can't? This was easily the most boring story of the episode.
Lynette vs. Kat wasn't as boring as I thought it would be because Lynette was fighting for her kids.
Edie's speech about not loving anyone before Carlos had me rolling my eyes. I guess she burned down Susan's house because she only kinda sorta liked Karl.
What a great way for Gaby to sneak out of her house. I didn't recognize her at first.
Even douchebag John gets to have a baby before Gablos. <sigh>

Really great episode; as others have already said, it was a huge improvement over last weeks.
Not only were all the storylines interesting, but there were some really funny lines, as well - I laughed a lot this week. All of my favorites, though, were towards the very beginning. McCluskey's "Your son came flying out of the closet and your husband's looking for the doorknob", Edie's "That way people will know your balls belong to me", and Lee calling the housewives "Philistines" were all great.
Speaking of Lee, I'm a big fan! Sure, he's bitchy, rude, and self-centered, but I still find him to be a very fun character! I don't necessarily have to think a character is a particularly nice person -or agree with how they treat others - to consider them an interesting, positive additions to the show.
And man, those pesky teaser spots! They had me all psyched to see Carlos emerge from the closet while John was still there, ready to kick some serious ass. I should know by now to never, ever trust the commercials.

Really good episode, although I felt it was a bit melancholy--which isn't entirely a bad thing, don't get me wrong. I feel bummed just thinking about some of the storylines like Phyllis and Bree, Carlos and John, the ongoing saga of how Lynette's cancer is affecting her family.
My favorite part was definitely Lynette and Katherine. That's just great stuff when they get into suburban pettiness.
All throughout the episode I was waiting for them to get to the note. It would have been great if Lee and Bob had somehow gotten a hold of it and that's how they would blackmail Katherine.

Force of habit: They've already had sex in front of an open window, Gaby stood in front of an open window in her underwear after the sex, and she's also stood on her balcony in a negligee.

Well it's official, I'm sick of Lee. You can take your smug, ugly rat face and drown yourself in that hideous, overpriced fountain. Still liking Bob though.
I enjoyed this episode a lot more than last week, but I need a tidbit or two more about the overall mystery in each episode. I, surprisingly, missed seeing Dylan.
Gabby and Carlos deserve to have their pics taken if they are stupid enough to make out in front of a huge, well-lit window.
Thank God the baby is being born next week, I'm ready to move on with the storyline. I love Bree as always, but get a move on.

There were a lot of cute lines tonight. Cute episode and I am really getting interested in the Kat secrets as I think there are more than just one secret. There is the secret of what happened in that house when she lived there before and then what happened in Chicago.
Just a question here. Susan is so tiny, when is she going to start showing? She is the size that if she had a pea on her tummy it would show, surely someone that small would show really fast if they were PG.

So much better than last week, I guess you have to expect the occasional klinker with any show.
Susan was an actual human being this week, not a Lucy Show retread. Katherine got humanized in the last quarter hour - she needed that. The Van de Hodges were hysterical. John's (yuck) appearance was well used to further plot lines rather than complicate one (and referring to Metcalf as "waxed" hah! - except he's obviously stopped as there was chest hair poking out of his shirts). Finally, the gay guys became a little less one note, and the Ida smackdowns were priceless (from everybody who knocked one off).

So Katherine has
two big secrets? Whatever happened in the house on Wisteria Lane that made her up and move to Chicago? And then something that happened in Chicago that caused her to move back to Wisteria Lane? I felt sorry for her.
Tuc Watkins is ridiculously hot, and I like that he might be evil (but not in that bitchy queeny way his boyfriend is, who, I hope, gets a house dropped on him). I think it would be cool to see Tuc go after Andrew, because that boy needs a firm hand (so to speak) -- several seasons ago, the HoYay meter went crazy when Karl slammed him into the wall and told him he should treat his mother better.
That sculpture was hideous, and they were inconsiderate for turning the water on at 6 a.m. Does everyone in that neighborhood go out of their way to annoy their neighbors?
At least this episode I could believe that Susan Meyer knows how to breathe and walk at the same time, until she pulled that stupid voting twice. Did she think she wouldn't get caught?
I kind of wished that Bree had toned down her contempt for Danielle, even if the kid did deserve it, and I wish she had been a little nicer to Phyllis. Yes the woman's a pain, but I can understand her wanting the connection to her son's grandchild. If Bree's so keen to try again with Danielle's baby, surely she could understand Phyllis's desire to try again too.
I have to say that I can't stand Gabby and Carlos. I like Carlos, and I'd like him with almost anybody (even Tom and the gays), but Gabby is such a self-centered, selfish bitch. And I don't get it -- isn't she married to the mayor of the town? Why isn't she living wherever the mayor lives? As the First Lady of Fairview, doesn't she have official duties? They would have been better off making Victor an executive looking to win a Mexican government contract or something if they wanted to bring in the having-a-Latina-wife-is-good plot line.
Why was Bree still wearing the pregnancy pad when she went to see Phyllis and Danielle? They both know the big secret.
I thought that was more to maintain the fiction and not get out of "character." I was confused about where Phyllis lives. For some reason, I thought it was far away, but apparently not if Bree and Orson could drive there quickly, and for Phyllis to start babysitting the brat every Saturday night.

I loved Katherine's storyline. Ida made it even better. "We'll show those gays!" Haha. I like Bob and Lee's involvement into her storyline, and loved the Susan/Lynette hug and how all the housewives were interwoven with the one storyline.
I didn't hate Phyllis so much this week. I liked that they made her more human this season than in S2. Bree's storyline was full of great quotes tonight.
Awww, Gablos. Just as I thought you two crazy kids couldn't get any cuter. John, you're married to a rich chick. Couldn't you borrow some of her money to get a decent haircut? Carlos' expressions in the closet cracked me up.

Considering that Gabrielle was still skinny when she suffered her miscarriage in 2.07, I don't see Susan showing for a while.
I had forgotten Gaby sneaking off dressed as one of her lawn boys. It reminded me of what Marc Cherry joked about at Eva's wedding that she has a body of a ten year old.

Random thoughts:
The whole fountain thing seemed a little sitcomish to me. (Is "Sitcomish" is that even a word?)
I agree with whoever said that this episode had a melancholy feel. I like how the writers tied the different story lines together by the various characters deciding to to show compasion to their adversaries--Bree gives Phyllis the babysitting gig; Lynette gets to keep the tree house; Carlos and Gaby decide to end their affair until their present situations are dealt with.
So there was actually a point in making the gay couple from Chicago. Go figure.
Next weeks episode looks fun.

If TPTB had any concept of time whatsoever, they would know that she's already 5-6 months along if next week is Halloween. That means Danielle is really 11 months pregnant because Bree was "almost ready" for the 6-month pillow in May (yet a month later, she was suddenly 8 1/2 months pregnant).

Yes, in real time Gaby's wedding was in May but I don't recall them ever referring to the month on the show. I've come to accept that time is not linear on this show. I mean, Lynette started a new job the day after she found out she had to get one.

It was on her invitation: May 19. I like to pause so I can read these things.
I know I probably shouldn't think too much about it, but it's a HUGE lack of continuity. Edie had two birthdays in one calendar year. Danielle should've been able to walk out of the convent anytime she wanted because she really turned 18 over a year ago. Susan should be entering her third trimester. Writing doesn't get any lazier (more lazy?) than this.

Man, this whole "fake pregnancy" storyline really killed Bree's character, eh? Not that she wasn't on thin ice to begin with, but she has become one unbearable bitch.
Danielle rather raise a baby than go to community college? Wow, she is quite the little idiot.
Ugh.....John. I was hoping we'd never see him again. I am still carrying that hope. Ugh.....John. So greasy.
Lynette continues to be the heart and soul of this show, somehow managing to keep this whole thing grounded.

I thought Bob just had a friend who knew what happened in Chicago, I don't remember them saying Bob and Lee were from Chicago? They just are from an unspecified city.
I can do without the whole Gablos thing. It's just tired. It was just a matter of time until they were caught, and it only goes to show how stupid Gabi and Carlos are. Gabi saw the van at the beginning of the episode, but not only did she miss it later, she and Carlos kissed in front of a huge window that faces the street so anyone who just walked by could have seen them.

It's lines like "Whoo! Mah-Johgg!" that makes me wonder how did this show got along without Orson. He's now my favorite male.
But the Gablos Show is really starting to bore. So Carlos went from the guy being cheated on to the guy who's cheating...with the same woman (Xiao Mei excluded)? While I understand him getting pissed off at John (gah! Begone!) talking to Gabby about their sweet, sweet loving days, at the same time, he's not in the position to be pissed since he is the new John. I'm just perplexed as to what I should be rooting for. (Other than...you're being spied on by a guy IN A VAN ON YOUR STREET. Jeez, you can't close your blinds?)
Pretty indifferent about the fountain debate, though the twins rubbing Mrs McClusky's feet was good for a laugh...and a slight "ew."

Does Phyllis live in Fairview? I always thought she was from out of town. Although, I guess if she's going to babysit once a week, she must be local.
I must say it was typical Lynette behavior with the Homeowner's Association tonight. She was perfectly fine supporting Katherine until she discovered it could affect her. Only then, was she willing to run on her own.
Speaking of Homeowner's Associations, can they really enforce policies that are retroactive? (Such as banning the fountain. I really don't know that much about how they work.)
I know its not very PC, but I loved Ida tonight. And I would pay good money to see her take Bob up on his fashion advice offer.
Were Gabby and Bree at the HA meeting? I didn't see either of them, although I would assume that both would support Lynette. I think Gabby was still at the spa and Bree was visiting Phyllis.

Bulldog, I can't say your assessment of Lynette is wrong, but it doesn't seem fair to single her out as it being a typical Lynette thing for her to look out for her own self interest. It's typical of every character on the show. It wasn't shown in Lynette anymore than it was shown in anyone else.

I must say it was typical Lynette behavior with the Homeowner's Association tonight. She was perfectly fine supporting Katherine until she discovered it could affect her. Only then, was she willing to run on her own.
Well, considering the fact that the presidency appears to be a full time job and she already has cancer, six children to raise and a financially struggling pizza shop to deal with, I think she had enough on her plate already. I can see why it took something as important as her children's safe space for her to get involved.
I felt like everyone was acting more like people than caricatures this episode. While I appreciate the satire on this show, I also like to believe in these characters as individuals rather than archetypes, so that was a welcome change. With the exception of Kathryn, to whom I have not yet really warmed, I could see everyone's POV on the fountain fight.
Bree's plotline, however, only amused because of Orson. She's in character, but I agree with others here that this fake pregnancy plotline has pretty much taken her character into a fairly unforgiveable space. I cannot believe she is stealing her own daughter's child. Danielle might not be that mature, but she could grow into it if they'd force some responsibility on her. If she were to live in Bree's house and openly raise her own child, then Bree could still be there to act as a mother to the baby if Danielle continues to be a failure, but then the baby would have an opportunity to know who she/he really is.

Kind of bothered me that, during the charades party, Katherine made a big point of saying "This is the last thing I'll ever say to you" to Gabrielle, but tonight she calmly turned to her and asked something about the neighborhood association. Usually I can overlook these things, and I am sure she has gotten over a bit of her rage, but I thought that was a huge oversight on the part of the writers.
Other than that: ANOTHER AMAZING EPISODE! I just about died when Ida said "Let's show the gays we mean business." And later: her comment on "the gays and fashion." That woman is a hoot and a half. McCluskey was great, too. How I adore the senior housewives.

This episode greatly impressed me; so many things tied together and it consistently felt like you were watching the same show from start to finish; not easy to do with a show that has such a large cast, and there've been several times during the show's run where it feels like watching four different shows.
We haven't seen a lot of Susan/Edie this season, but I died laughing when Edie outed Susan as voting twice. It was so petty and childish ("SUSAN VOTED TWICE"!), but completely worked.
The treehouse stuff? So sad.
I hate Lee, but I feel like I'm allowed to, and that it's not required to like him to enjoy the show. And only part of that is jealousy that he's married to Bob, who looks great in a suit
and a bathrobe. From now on, Tuc Watkins should only wear one of those two things.
Hats off to the Gablos scenes. A few episodes ago I complained that the one element that wasn't working for me was how they made it seem like their first time around was all rainbows and butterflies, so I loved the continuity we got there, with Gabby admitting her bitterness and loneliness, and Carlos even admitting he was all about the money then.
I'm not used to Bree swearing, but I like that they only have her do it when she's really, really upset. But something tells me Danielle isn't gonna last too long in Florida, unless they take Joy Lauren out of the credits.
And I finally loved the Katherine stuff. They completely found a way to humanize her and make her sympathetic. Her and Susan are old friends, and I can definitely see the two of them teaming together to take on The Plastic Gays, for reasons both petty (the fountain) and severe (Kat's skeletons).
I like how the writers tied the different story lines together by the various characters deciding to to show compasion to their adversaries--Bree gives Phyllis the babysitting gig; Lynette gets to keep the tree house; Carlos and Gaby decide to end their affair until their present situations are dealt with.
And on the adversary front, Carlos had a showdown with John and actually talked to him as a person instead of beating him to a bloody pulp.

I got the impression that Katherine wasn't trying to be nice, but she was remembering what her husband said about how she has done nothing but make enemies since they arrived back on Wisteria Lane. He said that one lesson they learned in Chicago was how useful friends can be. I think that is why Katherine told Lynette that she didn't have to worry about the treehouse. She doesn't want to be friendless. I don't think it's because she has another, nicer side to her. She's just being self-protective.

Great episode. If this season were a person, I'd make love to it. No, wait. I'd marry this season, but have a steamy affair with Season One. I'm done worrying about this season sinking into suckdom, too, because I have yet to be disappointed with an episode (then again, I'm not much of a spoiler person, so a lot of the things that happen are surprises to me).
The gays are a little grating to me. I expected as much since I've hated Kevin Rahm (Lee) in everything he's been in. Still, they add some conflict to the show which helps the plot. It's not because they're gay, either.
At first I was a little peeved with Susan for putting herself in the voting position she found herself in (if I were her, I would have refused to pick and let the rest of them decide how to fix the tie), but I liked her explanation to Lynette. Susan shouldn't have been asked to put her friend's kids over her own husband.
I wish Bree wouldn't be such a ragin' bitch with her own flesh-and-blood daughter while seconds later explaining that she wants her "second chance." Look at how you treat your grown-up kids, Bree. Do you really think you'll do better a second time around? Any good that this baby gets will more than likely come from Orson, but I still hope Danielle gets and keeps custody.
Carlos/Gabby would be more tolerable to me if Carlos would keep his clothes on. I can understand TPTB wanting Eva in as little clothes as possible at all times, but Carlos? Ugh.
Bring on Halloween on Wisteria Lane.

The gays are a little grating to me. I expected as much since I've hated Kevin Rahm (Lee) in everything he's been in. Still, they add some conflict to the show which helps the plot. It's not because they're gay, either.
So it is the actor who is rubbing me the wrong way. He's got that poor man's James Spader thing going on that I don't like.

I just want to say ... I LOVED Katherine's mailbox in the end. Was it just me, or did it look just like her house?

Great episode. If this season were a person, I'd make love to it. No, wait. I'd marry this season, but have a steamy affair with Season One.
This made me laugh out loud.

Carlos/Gabby would be more tolerable to me if Carlos would keep his clothes on. I can understand TPTB wanting Eva in as little clothes as possible at all times, but Carlos? Ugh.
Heck and I was excited at how sheer his boxers were.
