From ABCMediaNet.com:

It's Halloween, and the day is full of surprises for the doctors of Seattle Grace - Alex receives an unexpected and welcome visit from his former patient, Ava/Rebecca, Meredith is convinced that her mother's ashes are haunting her, Cristina is snubbed by a surgeon she admires, and Callie announces George and Izzie's affair to their fellow doctors, on "Grey's Anatomy," THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25 (9:00-10:02 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
mysticowl
It seems very out of character for Cristina to judge other people's sex lives. I expected her to make a sarcastic comment, not to leave the table in a huff. Why would she care that George and Izzie are sleeping together? I don't necessarily agree with Izzie's speech, I just think it's weird Cristina would give a damn either way.

"Out of consideration for Callie's feelings" - is that why they were sitting together during lunch? Uh huh.

I know many people here aren't fans of Alex and Eva, but I thought the scene with them cuddling after sex was so sweet, especially Alex falling asleep. Probably because he sleeps after sex, but just maybe also because he had Eva beside him. What can I say, I'm a sap.

Mommy-in-a-baggie was hilarious!

Hahn really has no bedside manner, does she. I know she's always been brusque with other doctors, but I don't recall if we've ever seen her interact with patients before.

I loved Bailey and George. I don't even want to ruminate if she's right about him being a bad guy or not, I just love that they had a scene together, because those are great. The kind of scene that lets me pretend all the character assassination and bad writing choices didn't happen.

In general, I liked this episode. I liked Cristina-Callie, not as much as Callie-Addison, but it didn't suck. Chief and Meredith saying goodbye to Ellis was nice too. Norman's storyline wrapped up in a good way. It's a long journey to recovery, but maybe there's hope for this show yet.
MoreRidonkulous
George may not be "a bad guy" but Izzie CERTAINLY IS a bad woman.

The bitch DARES to angrily bring up Meredith sleeping with a married man. Something for which she TOTALLY dissed Meredith for at the time. So now she's trying to invoke Christina's sympathy for her doing the same thing and getting angry that she's not getting it?

Does it even occur to this self-centered bitch that maybe she's getting the cold shoulder from Christia BECAUSE OF HOW SHE TREATED MEREDITH? Because she's a hypocrite? Nah. Because Izzie is self-centered as WELL as a hypocrite.

Bitch.

And Derek? Another piece of shit. Meredith outright TELLS him she's trying to change. She says the WORDS. And shithead ends the episode by proclaiming he has to begin dating.

Shithead.

As for Gizzie? I have no words.

Christina and Callie is a good pairing. As long as Callie can put away that anti-Meredith attitude she used to have. Meredith isn't Izzie's friend in any meaningful way anymore. Or at least she shouldn't be.

Meredith held her own this episode. STILL only a half-hearted surgical plot, but its better than nothing.
BNScrubNurse
I liked Cristina and Callie.

It irritates the living fuck out of me that Bailey of all people pretty much excused George from being a sorry excuse for a human being.

The episode was mediocre and it's getting easier and easier to pull away from Greys.
Sauerkandi
sorry, But these made my night!!!!

***Callie: cause she's been sleeping with my husband

***Yang: This is even more disturbing than your Bag O Mommy

***Hahn:I don't think you'll be able to impress me the way you have impressed your mentors in the past.....OUCH!

***Norman:I still think sawing off your foot is crazy.

Yowza............ guy chainsawing his foot...........eeeeekkk, my husband kept replaying the tivo

I like "Ava" coming back, but in that first scene together didn't they seem to be in a really tight space?

Trick Or Treat for ears? Guilt trip...But I love the episode!
hendersonrocks
Had they done ANYTHING to that little boy, I might have written off this show for good. He was so damn endearing it nearly killed me.

I am really enjoying the interactions between Derek and Mark. Izzie and George? Not so much. Please, just stop.

And to be totally honest...I loved Alex and Ava. Loooooved.
NYCBadGirl
So, Bailey tells George that it takes two people to get a marriage to that point? What the hell did Callie do besides love George? The fight that sent George to Izzie's bed was over the fact that izzie had feelings for him. So she didn't tell him she was rich. This was her fault? How? Maybe I am just Callie blind.
shika
OMG. FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL.

Bailey's marriage falling aprt?

George and Izzie getting the sympathy edit?

Ava!?

But I did enjoy Callie totally busting Izzme and Geroge out on their shennanigans. I still think she needs to re-direct more of her badass rage at George. I can't believe I used to adore that character.

The Cristina/Callie pad of jiltedness could be interesting...
Roundtheworld
I can't believe dr. Han doesn't remember Izzy STEALING her heart for Denny.

Not saying dating a superior is a smart thing but Cristina didn't sneak around and they were getting married – so obviously it was serious with Burke – why not figure she could use having a female mentor for once?

And Izzy, of course it's still about you! Meredith and Cristina keeping you out – it's not like you haven't been keeping a BIG secret from them. And for the record, when Meredith slept with a married man she didn't know he was married (at least in the beginning) and she wasn't breaking up her best friend's marriage.

Love Bailey and George being good friends.
BNScrubNurse
I can't believe dr. Han doesn't remember Izzy STEALING her heart for Denny.

Plot device #293847230. I'm sure it'll come up at some point.
kittkat
So Callie is so mature and dignified and worried about being humiliated at work that she used her position as Izzie's boss as a platform to punish her for sleeping with George?

Cristina thinks Hahn is inappropriate and unprofessional. Other things that are inappropriate and unprofessional: sleeping with your boss and/or teacher and hiding a tremor to snag great surgeries. Shut up Cristina, you're a fraud of a different sort. Being proud of being a judgmental bitch doesn't make you less of a hypocrite, it just makes you less likely to feel a change is necessary.

George is pathetic. He and Izzie together make me ill.

Alex, welcome to the dirty mistresses club, you dirty skank.
hurricane1128
I missed the first few minutes, but I have to comment on a couple thing now....
does anyone else think Bailey's phone call with her husband means the beginning of the end of her marriage? It is shondaland.

Her husband knows where the hospital is, thoughtful people would have brought the baby by so mommy could see him.

And, does anyone else think that mcsteamy is catching on faster than mcdumbass that Meredith has some serious issues, after her story about never having gone trick-or-treating?

I usually either watch or tifaux the show, how soon do the eps post?
supergrover56
Generally liked this one too. Started out strong with Callie dealing Izzie the wicked burn (I do admit to cheering).

I think this ep toned down a little on the IzzMEEEEEEEEE. When George said he'd give his heart to his father, I expected her to start blabbing about giving her heart to Denny, blah blah me blah blah I blah blah. So the silence was most welcome.

Last scene with the Gizzie just cemented what I've known all along - fantastic friend chemistry, ZERO sexual chemistry. Was it just me? It seemed like a scene between two great friends.

Oh, and McDreamy? More like McDouchebag. Never would have thought I'd consider Mark to be the better man.
sadangel
This show is seriously fucked up. It seems to okay adultery. If you're going to have sex or go see the man that you love take off your wedding ring first and don't talk about the husband after having sex. The cuddling and Alex falling asleep was cute.

The one scene that I wanted to see, I miss.

Also why is Bailey's husband having a problem now with her work hours. All throughout the show he has been portrayed has being okay with Bailey being a doctor. When he was getting out of the hospital after Tuck was born to help Addison he had no problem with it.

The scene was nice between George and Bailey because they have a great connection. But to blame Callie for his cheating was wrong.

Gizzie sucked. They wanted to respect Callie's feelings but they're around each other, eating lunch together and holding hands. Fuck them.
NYCBadGirl
So Callie is so mature and dignified and worried about being humiliated at work that she used her position as Izzie's boss as a platform to punish her for sleeping with George?

She was beating them to the punch. She called out the bullshit before people could start talking about it behind her back. I would have done the exact same thing.
MHCBadDude
I liked how Meredith finally put her mother to rest and the best part of this episode had to be when Derek paid the little kid to call Mark 'daddy.'

Tonight's episode was enjoyable but Derek saying he needs to start dating? I thought he was going to give Meredith time; she even said she was trying to 'evolve' and change. Apparently he doesn't care.
publicdefender
I liked this episode with the exception of the nausea-inducing Alex/Ava sex. They just HAD to go there. And what about the fact that she is MARRIED? She seemed to feel no qualms at all about it - she even wore her damn ring while having sex with Alex.

The Cristina/Callie interaction was cute. Izzie continues to be a bitch - how could she try to bring up Meredith and Derek just to make herself look better? I can't believe she had the nerve to go there. She has been so consistently jealous of Meredith and Cristina's friendship. Maybe if she wasn't such a judgmental, self-righteous hypocrite they would want to be better friends with her.

Poor Bailey - can't any marriage be healthy on this damn show? Well acted by Chandra Wilson, as always.

I LOVED Meredith in this episode. Her interaction with the little boy and with Mark was great. She even tried to bond with her sister, and she told Derek that she is trying to move forward. And I loved the end, when she and the Chief washed Ellis' ashes down the sink.

I continue to HATE Derek - what was that BS at the end "I need to date?"? Did he forget that earlier that day Meredith had told him that she was trying to move forward and make progress? So why didn't he encourage her, support her, tell her he was there for her if and when she wanted to spread the ashes? Instead he whines like the little narcissistic spoiled baby he is. At this point I like her much better away from him and I hope she gets together with Mark - they have great chemistry.
marie81
I also didn't like how Bailey just seemed to excuse George for what he did. Callie didn't do a thing to George except love him. He proposed to her. She accepted. She did not push George into Izzie's arms. She wasn't ignoring him. Neglecting him. I don't see how Callie is to blame for this.

I had to roll my eyes at Izzie's little speech about Christina being judgemental when Izzie is the most judgemental person alive.

Izzie? Give me a break. She never meant to hurt Callie's feelings. Even though she treated Callie like crap since day one. I wish someone would call Izzie on that.

I can't believe dr. Han doesn't remember Izzy STEALING her heart for Denny

Tell me about it. I kept waiting for a Denny mention and the stealing of the heart. Of course, I think Izzie has forgotten about Denny and the whole heart stealing thing. Since Izzie can't look bad, we can't have anyone call her on her crap.

I really wanted more disgust shown for Izzie/George.
JoeTheBartender
Okay, I will likely be annihilated, but here goes.

I've been on the hate train for months. Hated S3, hated the deer, not a Gizzie fan, etc. etc. etc.

But that? Was the best damn Grey's I've seen in.....well, hell, since the Super Bowl episode and before.

The whole Callie telling everyone, and Christina's "bag of Mommy" comment? Awesome.

Hahn is back? For good? For real!

YAY for Meredith actually being an evolved human being, having a conversation with Lexie, AND spending time on a project that (a) benefited someone else and (b) didn't revolve around Derek or her neediness.

I'm over Gizzie, but thankfully that was kept to a minimum. AND the George/Bailey chat was something I have seen way too little over - where, instead of the writers telling us what we should think (or talking about it in some insipid podcast) they actually SHOWED IT. In a CHARACTER BASED MOMENT. Without anvils or the presence of Captain Obvious.

Alex was tacked on (again, unfortunately) with The Face, and Derek is back to his usual douchiness. Still hating his "I love you to the ends of the earth....or until the next chick with long hair and needy eyes needs me to save her" speech. What a bore.
Chipper730
I honestly just feel bad for Katherine Heigl having to play this thankless role. She won an Emmy and Shonda and Co. have just steamrolled her character into a pile of shit that I don't conceivably see her coming out of for at least...ever. Heigl's doing what she can with the material and what probably is some bad direction; while she certainly could do more to make Izzie at least seem more sympathetic, the blame certainly doesn't lie mainly with her.

Thank God everyone knows now. It couldn't have lasted much longer.
Gideon Brown
And, does anyone else think that mcsteamy is catching on faster than mcdumbass that Meredith has some serious issues, after her story about never having gone trick-or-treating?

I'm so glad Mark dropped the attitude with Meredith, hopefully he crawled his way out of Derek's ass. I like that Meredith's trick or treating confession wasn't self-pity, it was just more like amusement. She's healing IMO. I loved Meredith tonight, moreso. She and the little boy were too cute. Hee, Richard can't say no to Meredith, and he got to say goodbye to Ellis, sort of. Awesome. More plots like this please. You know, where Meredith actually does something medical related. Please, keep it going. Mark said "The apple fell pretty far from the tree" which I took to mean that Meredith is a lot, lot, lot nicer than Ellis.
American Snob
Last scene with the Gizzie just cemented what I've known all along - fantastic friend chemistry, ZERO sexual chemistry. Was it just me? It seemed like a scene between two great friends.

Oh, absolutely. I'm with you on that. Maybe Gizzie will come to their senses and just be good friends. Since this is Shondaland though, the exact opposite will probably prevail.

On the other hand I really enjoyed the episode much more than last week's. It felt a lot more "lighter" so to speak but still that scene where the guy was chainsawing his foot off was absolutely disgusting and freaky.

I'm glad Norman is going to psych, I couldn't really take much more of him.

BROOKE SMITH joining the cast. That's all kinds of awesome, I'll be able to get my weekly dose of her bitchiness without her having to terrorize Nancy Botwin on Weeds.

And Mere and Chief disposing of Ellis' ashes in the scrub sink was a great sendoff.
bella0428
I am officially jumping on the Norman-Love Train...."you people need a good shrink" Amen Norman!!!!

I loved Ellis in a baggie...and I thought the end of that scene was great....they could've gone for the sappy prayer, but Meredith nailed who and what her mom was....and exactly where she would've wanted to be laid to rest.

OK...I am sick to fucking death of the whole "George gets exonerated because getting married so soon after his dad's death made him functionally incapable of not fucking Izzie"

Bullshit...I got married 2 months and 8 days after my mom died, and I have managed to a) not blame my husband b) not fuck my best male friend.

Yes, grief can change people, and losing a parent is traumatic and painful, but it doesn't render you completely incapable of rational thought and decision-making abilities.

Gizzie makes me ill....and Izzie daring to talk to anyone about their crimes is the stupidest thing I have ever hears...L-vad much????

I've always hated the Cheater's Handbook, Chapter "I never meant to hurt her." Serioulsy... and so either of these two brain trusts thought that cheating would what...make Callie thrilled and glad for them?

And the bench was always Callie and George's spot...ick, ick, ick on the Gizzie.
Roundtheworld
I loved Alex and Ava. Loooooved.

YES!!! This might be all we see of them, but so great to see them.
jthomas666
And, does anyone else think that mcsteamy is catching on faster than mcdumbass that Meredith has some serious issues, after her story about never having gone trick-or-treating?
When McSteamy told Meredith, "Wow, the apple really fell far from the tree", the wife looked up and said, "That's probably nicest thing he has said to anyone since...EVER."
Bessie Mae
Well, it was a night of my favorite characters disappointing me. Alex sleeping with a married woman. Bailey implying that Callie was at all responsible for George's cheating. I don't care if she married him the second after his dad took his last breath. She's not responsible for George sleeping with Izzie. And, I'm so scared their going to play the adulterous sex with Ava as a love story and take away even Alex's tendency to take responsibility when he screws up (big time) here. I couldn't even enjoy him rushing to see about Norman and his obvious worry, because he slept with a married woman! Grrr.

And, Izzie, yes Meredith did sleep with another woman's husband, but I just bet she wouldn't try to gain sympathy points by saying someone else had done it.

I really wish Meredith had gone somewhere else -I suck at georgraphy, but isn't Seattle near water?- to scatter her mother's ashes. I get the whole symbolism, and I'm used to weird on this show, but the Chief pointing out that she was in a sterile environment just emphasized how wrong it was to do it there.

Good parts of the episode? Cristina all the way. Especially her taking back the offer of the apartment to the Chief. Callie. Callie and Cristina bonding over their sucky situations and Callie moving in to the apartment. Mark.
sadangel
Kudos for Mer asking was it sibling love.
Marquis
Well, the whole point of this episode was to ensure that no character had a leg to stand on to criticise Izzie and George so, its a get out of jail free card for Shondaco and Gizzie!

Alex sleeps with a married woman.

Christina has the fact that she slept with her previous bosses (while in serious relationships) thrown in her face.

Callie acts unprofessionally and immaturely at work.

Bailey has a screwed up marriage so she can't judge.

The rest don't care and Meredith is as sweet as always to her friends. Long live Gizzie.
Auntie M
How does someone get from helping his girlfriend to scoop up her Mommy's ashes in the hallway to needing to date. Clearly McDreamy is just turned on by the available. Derek dating is the best thing that could happen to Meredith. Maybe she can start dating too.

I loved after all our chat about last week that they started the ep with "Pick me, love me, choose me."

And I don't think that Bailey was giving George a pass, but I do think that she's encouraging him to deal with it. And for what Callie did wrong--she let herself get carried away with someone who didn't love her. She thought that her being so into George would be enough for both of them to sustain a marriage. And she's also been massively insecure (not without reason it turned out). Neither of these is the equivalent to cheating on someone you've taken vows with, but they're her contribution to the situation.

And I love Callie moving on and the hysterical laughing. I wonder how long she'll last on Christina's couch, especially when the dirty underwear starts piling up (because she doesn't do laundry, she just buys new). Is moving Callie in Christina's effort to open up the closed circle?
SassandtheCity
I was so confused about the timeline at the end because the Chief is sitting, ready to leave and Meredith is with the child yet they both are in the scrub room like they just got out of surgery?
smwurr
Last scene with the Gizzie just cemented what I've known all along - fantastic friend chemistry, ZERO sexual chemistry.

YES. I don't get why Shonda is so blind to this. I thought they were going to kiss there at the end, and I was literally grimacing and about to cover my eyes because it would be like watching a brother and sister make out. Remember, only a year has passed in the crazy crazy World O' Shonda (still don't get the point of that, that we're supposed to believe all ALL THIS has happened in only 12 freaking months, but that's another post for another thread).....So it was less than a year ago that Izzie was wandering around Casa Grey in her dumbassed Hello Kitty underpants and telling George to buy her tampons because she thought of him like a girlfriend.

That was dumb too, but at least it made sense. And why was there no scene between George and Callie? When do we get to see her giving him an equally awesome smackdown to the one she gave Izzie? And what on EARTH was Bailey doing trying to pin this on Callie?

Maybe Callie made a mistake marrying George only a week after his dad died, but she loved him. The man she LOVED came to her and got down on his knees and asked her to be with him forever. Forgive me if I don't agree that she was so wrong for wanting to say yes. Jesus CHRIST. This show makes me want to kill someone.

Gizzie is making this shit unwatchable, and I don't think I'm alone.
ChristaP516
They are obviously spreading out the crack in the writers room. How did we go from a shitty wedding proposal to actively looking for a woman??? Color me confused, but I took that speech of Derek's to mean that he wanted to wait for her....but he may not be able to hold out that long....well now he's not even trying???? AND WHY does he HAVE to date???? Is it the law? I don't get it.

Bailey is being used by the writers to condone something that they are trying to push on to us viewers. How the fuck is it Callie's fault that George slept with Izzie???? Again....maybe I am confused, but I did not see Callie taking off George's pants.

Loved Mark.

LOVED Meredith....I have really missed this Meredith.

Izzie wants to make me kick the TV.

This Ava/Alex thing is really really really odd. It truely makes NO sense at all.

Callie and Cristina laughing in surgery was HILARIOUS. Love them both.
SpicyWildflower
So Bailey basically gives George an all clear pass for cheating on his wife cause she's got issues with her husband. Nice. Poor George, he couldn't help himself for cheating, because poor wittle George rushed into marriage and so therefore it's okay for him to have cheated on his wife. It's understandable for him to fuck another woman who has loudly hated on his girlfriend/wife most of the year, because he was sad. Poor, wittle George.

Yes Callie should have known better, but not for the reasons everyone states. Not because she should have been aware of what George was going through and aware that it was a bad mistake. But she should have realized that George was not a man and not worth the effort. She should have seen how pathetic he was, with his perfect hot girl fantasies, and his pathetic I resent you cause you don't love me bullshit.

But back to Bailey. Thank you Miranda for giving George a pass for CHEATING ON HIS WIFE. Wonder where all that understanding was in season one when you found out Meredith and Derek were a couple. You made her miserable for WEEKS with scut, and trying to make her feel bad for every surgery she got. You acted like she'd cut up children. But George, oh poor wittle George is not a bad guy for cheating on his wife, cause he was feeling bad when he got married. So it's okay.

And Hahn, you better lay off Cristina, because she will be twice the doctor you will ever be.

And Izzie it's NOT THE SAME. Meredith and Derek? Cristina and Burke? Not at all the same as you and George. Your unholy union is a slap on the face to all that is good and hot on this show.

More happy fun Meredith with kids or Norman or whoever. She's so cute and adorable when she's having fun or blackmailing people. And thank you Shonda for returning the Dirty Mistresses Club. I loved that look on Sloane's face at the end. I think he saw Meredith again in a new light just then. Realized how crappy her life was, just as Derek said in the premiere and yet she still managed to be a good person, who even if she doesn't always succeed, at least tries to be a good person.

Also more Cristina and Callie. Yes Cristina, there is a closed circle. And it's awesome because it doesn't include Izzie. Here's hoping that you guys form the MACC Club. Meredith, Alex, Cristina and Callie. No Judgments!

Loved Alex and Ava. Hey Gizzie, that's chemistry. Try it sometime. Then again no, because I look away every time you're on screen. Don't want to have to start barfing.

And damnit I wanted a Chief/Meredith hug at the end, but I guess their close moment is good enough to satisfy me for now. You better have more of these moments Shonda. More Derek/Sloane chummy time too.
MHCBadDude
Oh and Meredith did sleep with a married man but she didn't know. She found out by his wife telling her. Totally different and Izzie saying she didn't mean to hurt Callie's feelings? Bullshit, she's hated her since day 1. George and Izzie are to blame. Callie just wanted her husband.
BNScrubNurse
Is moving Callie in Christina's effort to open up the closed circle?

I call it an effort to piss of Izzie while bonding with someone who knows her pain.
TVGuy88
I really liked everything except Ava. Hope that is the END of her.
SlovakPrincess
So, Bailey tells George that it takes two people to get a marriage to that point? What the hell did Callie do besides love George? The fight that sent George to Izzie's bed was over the fact that izzie had feelings for him. So she didn't tell him she was rich. This was her fault? How? Maybe I am just Callie blind.

Totally agree. Seriously, what the fuck, Bailey, what the fuck?? Ugh.
I actually felt for George during his "I would have given my dad my heart" speech . . . but then I thought "your dad would be sooooo disappointed in you right now, you selfish, self-pitying git."

Izzie: I didn't mean to hurt Callie!
Me [at my tv]: Bullshit!! I saw you smirking when she was having a hard time at work the first few episodes this season!
I really wish someone would point out that not thinking AT ALL about another person's feelings isn't much better than actively trying to hurt them.
Also, "closed circle"? Cry me a river, Izzie. Didn't Cristina and everyone else nearly lose their damn careers covering up LVAD-gate for you??

"We made it through today!" Oh, goody for you. I'm sure breaking Callie's heart was really rough on the two of you, shame you had to go through that.

Alex and Ava? Blah.
McDreamy? Double blah. Smirky douche.

Seattle Grace must have kept LVAD-gate pretty well under wraps, 'cause if Hahn ever finds out she'll freakin' despise Izzie. Oh, please, please let there be an episode on this.

Only things I liked?
Meredith putting Ellis down the drain.
Callie and Cristina as friends.
Norman - so cute. I hope we see him in the future on some psych consults.
Bessie Mae
It seems to okay adultery.

Okay it? The show practically idolizes it.
Well, the whole point of this episode was to ensure that no character had a leg to stand on to criticise Izzie and George so, its a get out of jail free card for Shondaco and Gizzie!

Yeah, I get that feeling, too. Is it a coincidence that Ava comes back the very next episode after Alex pointed out that George was married? I guess it's too much to ask that Alex's attitude will be that both he and Izzie did something horrible and wrong. It'll be "I know what love is now, so I understand that you and George couldn't help yourselves."

You know, I love that Meredith doesn't judge. I love that she's a loyal friend. But, there really should be a middle ground between judging and expressing happiness for Izzie and George. Good on Cristina for not giving an inch.
Oh and Meredith did sleep with a married man but she didn't know.

I think that was referring to the prom sex, rather than before Addison showed up the first time.
TeeVee329
I can't believe Dr. Hahn doesn't remember Izzie STEALING her heart for Denny.

I don't think Dr. Hahn knows anything about what Izzie did, though hopefully she'll find out sooner than later and bench her stupid ass. Or maybe Shonda just wants us to forget that Izzie ever loved anyone before her Bambi (rettttcchhh).

Izzie. Continues to be a total self-centered bitch. No matter how many times she says she didn't mean to hurt Callie, she did and you can tell she feels absolutely no remorse. The scene with Cristina in the stairwell (from the sneak preview) was as aggravating this time as it was the first time. And if we actually have to witness the "hot sex" mentioned in the preview for next week, I'm going to have to dig my eyeballs out with my beer bottle cap.

Alex. He and Ava definitely had more chemistry than I remembered, but I'm upset he slept with her because now he can't give Izzie any more shit about her affair. I loved his desperately smelling her shirt when he found out she was gone. I'm guessing we'll see her again, but now it's on him to chase her.

Meredith. Thought she was fantastic in this episode. She was so endearing helping the earless boy and, as always, proved to be a good friend by trying to understand and not judge Izzie and George's relationship. The final scene with her and the Chief disposing of her mother's ashes was nice. So was that bonding with Lexie in the hallway. I hope we see more of the sisters Grey together.

Bailey. PLEASE PLEASE do not break up the one functional marriage on this show. Her speech to George had good points (she wouldn't let him off the hook for his awful actions) and bad (the second person who "took two" to end George's marriage was IZZIE!). Her glee over the carnage from the chainsaw competition was pretty hilarious. Oh yeah, whatever happened to the guy with the wacky foot? Was he just nuts?

Dr. Hahn. Welcome aboard, Brooke Smith! Her and Cristina sparring should make for some good times. So should Cristina and Callie bonding. Their "girl talk!" gigglefest in the OR was pretty great.

Mark and Derek continue to have great friend chemistry. So they'll probably be sleeping together by year's end.

Overall, minus the Gizzie, thought tonight was pretty entertaining. And thanks Shonda for not killing Doctor Grandpa Gilmore!
SassandtheCity
I loved that look on Sloane's face at the end. I think he saw Meredith again in a new light just then. Realized how crappy her life was, just as Derek said in the premiere and yet she still managed to be a good person, who even if she doesn't always succeed, at least tries to be a good person.

I felt like there was a brief flicker of guilt on Sloane's face since he was the one going around, telling everybody McDreamy is "lookin" and here Meredith is, trying her damnedest to move on emotionally.
tvjunkie118
When Callie said Stevens is sleeping with my husband I was cheering.

I have been waiting for a Callie & Cristina friendship. This should be interesting. The scene with the two of them in the OR laughing about their failed relationships was perfect.

The Nurses United Against Mark Sloane...tooo funny
Mark's face when the kid called him daddy was priceless, Derek is so evil.
I like that Mark and Derek are becoming friends again.

Dr Hahn is the new head of Cardio, this is going to be interesting. Cristina went off on her and she had every right to. I have a feeling that she is going to make Cristina's life on the OR hell.

The George and Bailey scene was great. I feel bad for Bailey that she missed her son's first Halloween. There is trouble on that water front.

I got my Mallie Moment. "Anything you need me to do to cheer you up day or night, especially night." Eventhough you knew where Marks head was. I still got my moment.

George and Izzie at the end. They made better friends, I just don't see them as lovers.

I think this ep toned down a little on the IzzMEEEEEEEEE.

Huh? She basically bitched out Cristina because Cristina wasn't as sympathetic to her as she was to Meredith. The subtext being that Cristina knows a hypocrite when she sees one. I mean Cristina is looking at a woman who totally bagged on her friend for something and now wants sympathy for being in an EVEN WORSE and even more selfish situation. So should Cristina be sympathetic? Not in any reasonable universe.

And so IzzzMEEEEEEE once AGAIN drags out the anti-Meredith schtick, making herself a hypocrite all over again.

Izzie proved what a total piece of crap she is tonight more than ever. Hey, I know. She belongs with McDouchy. They are two of a kind.

I didn't think I could hate Derek more than I did last week.

I was wrong.

I've been saying that all along.

Uggggh I am having a serious love/hate relationship with the show right now.

I'm with everyone on the "WTF were they smokin when they created Gizzie" train. It's so flippin' unbelievable. I bring the barf bags out when I see them together as "lovers". I too was cringing over the thought of them kissing on that bench. As friends, they are glorious and light up the screen! As...the pathetic, selfish, whiny "lovers" they are now...just...ick. Bad. So bad. I was hoping they'd catch a lot more slack in the episode then they did. I don't have any idea how the show will recover from this...thing they've created.

Also, Derek? Dating? The hell? I don't get that at all. Maybe that meant to cut that line out? Because it certainly doesn't make any sense and goes against EVERYTHING the show has led us to believe about Derek. The pissed me off to no end.

But then you have the glorious moments that keep me coming back week after week...

Sandra Oh is pure gold, as always. Loved her standing up to Hahn, loved her taking her apartment back, loved her interactions with Merideth...only wished she had been able to shoot down Izzie's ridiculous argument about "how dare you judge" because I know every fan in the world was screaming the truth at the screen, begging Cristina to say it for uss!

Loved the Callie/Cristina moment with them laughing. Priceless!!

Also, I hate the fact that Eva is married (HAAATE - plus, post-coital snuggling including a discussion that involves mentioning the hubby? ick!) but damn, those two have chemistry! I don't think Alex is normally smokin', but when the chemistry is there...whew...he can battle the McDreamy's for hotness the world over. Siiiiigh.

I'll be glad to see Norman go though, he did add some comedic elements, I mostly found him boring and annoying.

I'm not even going to go there with Bailey and her little talk with George.

lastly, Mer! She was great! She really shines when she has her own storyline that doesn't involve her life being ruined in some way. And that little boy was too precious for words. Also, thought her choice for her mother was very, very fitting, though it did bug me how the chief was like "this is sterile - but its ok lets break the rules AGAIN because its for the woman I had an affair with" woohoooo

Are you kidding me? George gets NO smackdown from anyone??!! I always read how Shonda must have a thing against women and I always took it with a grain of salt, but COME ON!

Once again Alex was alone with his own storyline, but he was missed tonight. He could have given George a smackdown and he could have told Hahn that it Izzie was the one who stole the heart. But instead he was having sex (and sleeping) in the on call room with a married woman who was talking about her daughter who he helped deliver! And I NEVER thought I would say this, but I was actually (almost) grossed out by one of Alex's sex scenes. I had to look away a couple times. I wanted a scene like that so much way back when he was with Izzie and also when he was with Addison, but instead we get the stammerer who has baggage. Is she gone for good?

I don't care about Mer/Der and I never have so let him wind up with Sydney. At least it will stop the sllloooowww moving car wreck that is the Mer/Der relationship.

Oh and Meredith did sleep with a married man but she didn't know.

Actually she did, not the first time, but the second time at prom she knew he was married, especially since he was just dancing with his wife.

My goodness, not even Bailey can be happy.

Alex and Ava, Vomit! She was wearing her wedding ring. Gross.

OK, TWO winning episodes in a row definitely qualifies as this show being solidly (though still somewhat shakily) on it's way to being really back on track.

0) Alex and Rebecca (I-Can't-Believe-It's-Not-Addison!) without so much as a date or a Massengil Moment suddenly deciding to fuck in a hospital where they were Doctor and Patient for all of last Season... is just NASTY on so many levels.

1) Dr. Erika Hahn... man... Dr. Erika Frakkin' Hahn! Back @ Last (!) and as Cristina's superior! So very cool.

2) Callie... and her smack-downs was awesome as usual.

3) I don't think this show is necessarily pro-adultery in some slutty sexual sense but more that it's pro-love and (rather logically) it points out that the better relationship is usually going to win-out unless you want some Richard & Adele style settlement marriage between two mis-matched partners who cannot communicate nor make one another happy.

4) Meredith & Richard and Ellis' ashes was sweet.

5) Shouldn't Callie and Cristina have moved into the Hotel Suite (complete with slaves / laundry / room service) and George moved into Burke's apartment?

Norman is cute but I am sick of people passing out in the operating room. I swear it's happened like every half-dozen episodes since Cristina had her pregnancy.

Alex sure jumped into bed awful quick for a guy who was coming down on adultery mere DAYS ago. The Alex-Ava thing is ridiculous. I don't get it at all. Also, I'm sorry, but it was creepy for her first post-coital words to be about her baby WITH HER HUSBAND.

I agree that Cristina is not the type to get judgmental about people's sex lives, so that was a little WTF?

And Derek? I cannot even go there. Not yet.

I really liked everything except Ava. Hope that is the END of her.

Seriously. Is she just walking around the hospital without a shirt? And is there any relationship at Seattle Grace that isn't based on some kind of adultery?

And shut the f*** up Izzie. How awful for you and George to be found out. And how freaking generous of you two to hold off on doing each other again out of respect for Callie. Too bad you couldn't actually respect her before.

The little kid's ear surgery annoyed me, just as much as crazy leg man. Aren't there all sorts of tests that have to be run before you can go into non-emergency surgery? Aren't you supposed to not eat? It seemed kind of silly for the boy to just show up, ask for a surgery and have all his wildest surgical dreams come true in a few hours.

Totally agree. Seriously, what the fuck, Bailey, what the fuck?? Ugh.

Right on. I forgot how Callie forced George into bed with Izzie and made them have sex. Cheating is not somehow justified because of an unhappy marriage. And I don't doubt for a second that Bailey would kick her husband's ass if he cheated and said that it took two of them to get to this place.
