"Poseurs" comes to mind. Of the B.J. & Tyler variety.
But still, I kind of like Vyxsin.

Miss Alli:
"My name is Vyxsin" and "My name is Kynt" are code for "call me whatever you want in the recaps." Because that shit is not getting typed all season long, I'll tell you that.
How long before we all call him Kunt? You know the Y and the U are right next to each other.........

Pre-dislike, just because I usually don't like teams with a gimmick. Poseurs in Pink (or "Pynk", if you prefer).
"Kynt" makes me think of those two gay villians from "Diamonds are Forever". And "Vyxsin" - the name alone tries too hard.

Vyxsin? Pronounced Vixen?
That's too precious ... or she doesn't know how to spell.

From CBS website:
Fashion is a passion for these two.
Are they being ironic? When did hot pink tiger print become fashionable?
And how on Earth do you pronounce "Kynt"? Kent? Kīnt?

Or just 'the Pynks' for short, to riff on previous 'Pinks'.

I totally thought they were two girls.
No....just......no.
ETA: "Kynt" (if that is even his real name) quite possibly has the creepiest face since Jonathan with the overtweezed eyebrows.

No, no -- they're just paying tribute to the last duo who used that tagline: Mary Kate & Ashley. When they were twelve.

Well, they are...colorful. And bright. I fear for my retinas. Yet for some reason, I am intrigued...as to how Phil is going to pronounce these two names.

And I'm looking forward to Phil interviewing them at some pitstop. The eyebrows will really be popping. Not to mention the reaction of the native greeter!

If they do make it through for a while, I must wonder how well they'll keep up the makeup jobs. It could be interesting to see them with relatively natural faces.

I just wanna know what their real names are. These surely can't be their real names can they?

Oct 24, 2007 @ 2:13 pm
I'm hoping they do stay for a while, Radagast, for that reason.
I certainly hope not, Jer2002. It's bad enough that people would pick those names for themselves. To think parents would do that to their children ...

Obviously, they can get fashion hints from Mirna. She can lend them her makeup case.
ETA: Because there is no excuse to mix up Charla and Mirna. Or to misspell their names

Wow. I actually know these two. I've hung out with them at the many Sci-Fi conventions they go to.
They're actually really nice. I don't know that I would've classified them as "Goths," but whatever. They're some of the few people still up in the wee hours having fun.

I'm very interested to see how this team does working the airport and talking to locals, just because of how they look. Perhaps other countries might be more accepting, or else they'll have a ton of trouble and get weird looks. Could be a fun little social experiment to watch.

That's cool. I wonder what they think about the "Goth" label then. Is there one that even fits them? Looks like TAR/CBS found their hook.

Oct 24, 2007 @ 4:35 pm
Honestly it could be a hook or they may identify themselves as Goth. I've met and hung out with them a few times, but I definitely wouldn't say I know them intimately. It'll be interesting seeing them at the next Con though.

I'm kinda wondering whether they'll try to pull off the matching outfits throughout the race.

Do true goths wear pink? Or matching outfits?
They may have potential to amuse. Mostly, now I can't wait for Phil to wrap his lips around their names. He may just sprain his eyebrow muscles.

Maybe they were watching too much Chris Kattan and Molly Shannon on SNL.

I didn't want to like them, but they look rather like fun, nice people (despite the names). I hope I'm not proven wrong.
Is this really what "goth" looks like? I kinda don't think so.
I suspect they Kynt win this one.

Maybe they are punk. Maybe they are a goth-punk hybrid.
Styles of dress within the subculture range from death rock, punk, androgynous, medieval, some Renaissance and Victorian style clothes, or combinations of the above, most often with black attire, makeup and hair.
-Wikipedia,
Goth subcultureI say, if they call themselves Goth, let them be Goth. It's not something where there's a central standard authority with a rigid definition.

I did, too - and I sent the link to my DH at work. We eat at the Texas Roadhouse all the time, and the only people that work at ours are college kids. LOL
I kinda hope these two stick around a while b/c they are different, and they will be interesting, I think. They sure beat looking at mactors/pretty people/etc *I'm looking at you TAR6*
I have to wonder if they will race in those big funny platform goth boots?

I suspect they are going to be the B.J. and Tyler of this incarnation of the Race. . .never letting us forget for one moment how different and wacky and god-dammit unique they are.
I feel. . .so. . . tired. . .so. . .very. . .tired already.

I'm curious to see how they'll handle sleeping on the ground and not wearing make-up. Kynt's hair looks like it took hours to get that Final Fantasy cartoon anime look. They totally make me think of
Team Rocket from Pokemon! Not just the hair, but their posture does as well.
Oh man, that's all I can think of now. To me, they'll be forever known as Team Rocket. (Or at least, until the show starts.)

Count me as someone who thought they were both women, at first. And after being told that one is a guy, I was actually shocked for a few seconds.
Maybe they'll prove me wrong, but the pink is already a major turnoff.
