TV Guide sez:

A mysterious woman (Kristen Bell) searches for Peter; Matt and a surprise ally go to Philadelphia to hunt down Molly's attacker; Monica deals with her new abilities and her role as a local hero; Suresh meets his new partner; and Ando traces Hiro through history.

Adrian Pasdar was lookin' fiiiiiiine tonight.

Yay!

The show has definitely picked up. Even the Oireland and Japan stories didn't bother me when there was so much awesomeness going on in the episode. AND NO CLAIRE! The world is definitely ending :)

I wasn't expecting Matt's dad to be able to pull off the big bad creepy factor but boy did I get the chills when he locked Matt and Nathan in that room and stalked out of his apartment with that eeeeevil expression.

Loved the dream sequences too, very well done.

TY Heroes for tossing Nathan into the action, because he's really rocking...
Mia Nina
Wow, Peter falls in love quickly. As a Simone fan, boy I hate that new girl! It's not Caitlin's fault that Peter sucks without his memory, however shagging a guy who could have a wife somewhere, maybe a kid that misses him, etc, etc, makes he suck, too. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I'm eating crow because I liked KB's character, and if she's going to get Peter back to New York with a memory, then I freakin' adore her! If she has to kill everyone between here and there, then so be it!

But then again, I'm not sure is she's to be trusted, but for now. Just get Peter home.

More daddy issues. Yup. So, Matt's father can lock you up in your worst nightmare, yes? No wonder Molly didn't want to sleep.

Matt is going to be so powerful! I love it.

Soo, Niki is still in the same S1 storyline. Too bad. Things better pick for her soon, Ali deserves it. She can be one of the coolest heroes.

It pains me to say that I'm too bored with Hiro's story.

Hiro can stop time and Kensei can't die, what does he fear so much?

Mo is the new HRG. Kinda cool.

Super-Taser-Girl! I mean, It's Veronica!
AimingforYoko
Holy Shit! Elder Parkman is Professor X! Okay, evil Professor X.
And Monica totally schooled those fools on the Double Dutch, yo.
MoreRidonkulous
VERY good episode this week. With the possible exception of Hiro's lame story. Even Peter wasn't that bad. And the few seconds we had of Niki weren't intolerable.

And Monica continues to kick ass.

Interesting that Parkman, who had such a lame story last year, has one of the better ones this time.

Elle's dad has got to be Bob. I don't accept the idea that its someone we haven't met yet.

And Parkman Senior? His power is NOT mind reading--he lied of course. Obviously its a mental power, but its a lot more like whatshername's illusion power. There's an obvious element that he can detect his victim's fears, but I think its kind of automatic--I doubt he can read their thoughts otherwise.

Ugh that promo is not making me think Alejandro will last too long...
BooNasty0121
Matt's dad is an asshole of the first order. It takes a special kind of evil to trap your own son in his worst nightmares.
SayWhat64
I really liked the nightmare/fighting scene and how it was shot. Very dramatic. Very revealing!

Also: Parkman? WTF?! it was HIS baby? gosh. I can't even process that right now. His dad is such an evil biyatch.
Darn
Wow, so Kirsten Bell is perky, annoying and can't seem to stop talking no matter the role.

One thing doesn't show didn't need was a lightening shooting, murdering Veronica Mars.
MyEyesSee
Holy shit. Papa Parkman is eeeevil. And pretty Mohinder is still stupid. Heroes is back!
Durq
Daddy Parkman's a bad ass! Love the dream sequences and the way Nathan and Matt's separate fights are suddenly in synch with each other. Wonderful editing.

Nathan: "I'm not a cargo jet!" And yet I would happily ride….oh, never mind.

Love Monica and Micah enjoying her powers! They could not be any cuter.
OneWomanArmy04
So much better than last week, thank God. Love Monica's storyline and everything else was paced really well. I hope they can keep this up!
debi48
So whats going on with Matt and Nathan? So papa Parkman is able to give nightmares to anyone, not just Molly?

Does anyone remember when Mohinder and Niki met before? I know they were both involved in the clusterf*ck during the episode finale, but dont remember them being introduced.....things were a little hectic. Maybe we will find out more if we get a 4 months earlier episode.

Kristen Bell's character seems to be too much like Veronica Mars to me....and that charactor worked so well because of Veronicas relationship with Keith. But who's her daddy this time?

Still not liking the Japan or Ireland story, tho glad to see Peter channeling Isaac's power.

What are Noah and the Haitian doing in the Ukraine?

I'd like to see the story tightened up to concentrate on the Elder heroes, instead of all these disjointed stories.

Nathan was HOT HOT HOT!!!!!
Im enjoying Micah more this season, probably cuz he's not bogged down in the never ending Niki story
mtlchickie
I have to say it since I live in Montreal:

HA! Suck on it Toronto!

However....If that is supposed to read Saint-Jacques street and if the church is supposed to be Notre Dame Basillica, then they forgot to Google map it. At that corner is the Palais de Justice (the courthouse.) The church is about 2 blocks away.
GhaimehBadenjun
The interlocking Matt-Nathan nightmare was brilliant! Everything else, kind of less exciting than last week. Next week looks good though.
Arcticglare
Hiro needs to go. What a waste of valuable screen time that could've been given to any of the other much more exciting and interesting storylines.

I swear to God, I melt every time we see the House of M.

KRISTEN BELL!!!! She's electric (boogie woogie woogie)! "Alright, I killed him! What is the big deal?" HA!

Damn, that's cold, Papa Parkman.

So Niki went to the Company willingly and her freak out was just Jessica? Damn, I was right all along; Jessica isn't part of Niki's power, Niki just has multiple personalities.

This show just gets more awesome every week.
FriarFabulous
That was so awesome, guys. I really loved it. Kristen Bell's debut was pretty much amazing, and I loved the phone call in the car. "Alright, I killed him! What's the big deal?"

Monica was also great. I love that we have two characters who LOVE the fact that they have abilities, and are enjoying themselves and pushing themselves instead of treating it like a curse. I liked the scene where Monica was learning martial arts moves.

Can I just say that even though I guessed from the beginning that Mohinder would be going to Monica, I still said "Oh my god" three times? Micah knows Mohinder, right? Or am I crazy?

Niki is with the Company! Oh no! It looks like she'll be getting more screen time, fortunately.

The season has DEFINITELY picked up!

Adrian Pasdar was lookin' fiiiiiiine tonight.

Heh, oddly enough I was chatting with a friend about how awful I thought he looked. I never get the appeal normally, he's rather grody to me, but I was especially repulsed tonight.

Good thing they have such a variety of eye candy on this show to accommodate all of us. :)
Pushplay
I love that they are coming to my town! I work on St-Jacques street, Montréal, as shown on the painting! And Ando still managed to be funny even if we didn't see him a lot. ("Ando is a very common name")
toomuchtv47
Good episode. I liked all the stories this week and at one point I did notice that there was quite a lot going on. Or maybe it's just because I was able to see DA.

I also really liked seeing Noah playing piano. I just watched a vid of him on youtube and it was just amazing.

Matt's dad? Eeeewwwww!! I'm almost afraid to go to sleep tonight.
MyEyesSee
Paint, Peter paint you hottie, you!

Adrian Pasdar was lookin' fiiiiiiine tonight.

Oh hell yeah. Almost up for that silly beard.

Super-Taser-Girl! I mean, It's Veronica!

And she's a murderer!
And Monica totally schooled those fools on the Double Dutch, yo.

And Monica continues to kick ass.

I am really warming up to her character. Seeing her learning about her powers and actually enjoying using them reminds a bit of a season one feel.
Nathan’s “I’m good” with the shotgun and the handling of it. Nice, subtle hat tip to his military service. I loved that moment.

Nathan was in the military?
felonious mope
The show continues to pick up the pace. Hooray!

I never watched VM so I had no prior exposure to Kristen Bell, but I can definitely see her appeal. Poor Rickey met an unfortunately crispy end there. I wonder if the "daddy" she referred to on the phone is her biological father, or if "Daddy" is the person within the Company who raised her.

I loved the way Monica experimented with her powers. She seems genuinely happy to have them and eager to put them to good use, which is about time for a female character on this show.

The geek in me has been hoping that Matt would turn out to be a projective telepath as well as a receptive one, so I certainly got my wish on that one tonight. Grunberg and Pasdar have great chemistry together, so here's hoping we see a lot more of them partnered up.

Who doesn’t identify a suspect?

Many people who live in high-crime areas and fear retaliation are afraid to name suspects, which is one of the things that gangs count on in order to keep control over their "turf."
Francie Nolan
What the fuck show? Matt goes off to fight God knows what and doesn’t stop to at least touch Mohinder? No good luck or I hope you’re safe?

And we’ve got Peter macking on random Irish chick.

This episode was like the anti Hoyay.

OMG! I’ve been waiting and hoping that Matt’s telepathy would include being able to transmit. He was really hot this episode being all tough guy cop and smacking his dad around. He and Nathan have awesome chemistry together. And when he kissed Molly on the forehead, I squeed.

Daddy Mohinder continues to enthrall. Of course with Bennet’s dire warnings now I’m terrified since he’s exposed his weakness. If Tobby is willing to send his little sociopath of a daughter out to do his dirty work, who knows what he’s capapble of. Mo's too fucking noble to play double agent for long. Looks like his moral sensibilty is going to get all riled up next week and it's going to shit.

Ooh, they knew about Monica way too quickly for comfort. Is there some kind of system (or hero) that lets them know when someone newly activate?)

And Micah was so absolutely adorable at this glee in seeing Monica happy. I don’t care about Niki and am totally pissed we’re going to have to watch her whine and moan again about all the terrible things she’s done, but her kid is pretty amazing.
Danny Snow
I'm really digging on Elle, she seems to be pretty cool. Anyone else think her father might be Bob?

Interesting note: This is the first episode of the series in which Claire did not appear, at up until this point she was the only character to appear in every episode. Now no one has, and that kind of makes me sad.

Could have used more HRG, he's evidentally doing the Odessa thing.

I was infinitely more interested in the Matt/Nathan thing than anything else in the episode, and kept being annoyed when they wouldn't show that.

Absolutely nothing was accomplished in terms of Hiro/Kensei, why even bother with it? They could have just spent more time on other things.

Undecided on Monica, her power could potentially make her too powerful? What if she watched Peter or Sylar? Could she do that too? And what happens if she watches somebody do something that sucks. Does she start to suck at it too?

Also, Mohinder does know that the Company killed his father, right? Just making sure. He above all seems like an unlikely candidate to be swayed over, so I hope they're not headed in that direction.
GreenPhoenix
I thought Monica was channeling Niki for a bit in the beginning when she was talking to Louisiana Tina about what's been going on. Anyway, I think it might be interesting for Mohinder to pull that taser on her, only to have Micah throw the shock right back. I don't hate Mohinder or anything, but that could be cool.

Getting better. I miss the "Oh shit!" endings. That wasn't much of a surprise that Veronica killed Brother McShamus.

BTW, Kristen Bell is awesome! I love every single way she delivers lines. So incredible, so adorable.

Adorable also describes Monica. I'm liking her and Micah's story.

Mohinder, not so much. He continues to not listen to people who know more about the company and ends up doing stupid things.

Elder Parkman is pretty badass. I really liked the way they choregraphed the Nate/Matt fight scenes.

Hiro/Ando/Kensei...zzzzzzzz (some more)

The biggest problem I'm having with the Peter story is he's still discovering powers WE ALREADY KNOW ABOUT!!! It's not fun when the character goes "How'd I do that?" and the audience goes "It's Issac's power, dumbass." That's the problem with amnesia plotlines. Jason Bourne he ain't.
Camdevil
Nothing spoilery here, but I looove how Canadian promos and commercials milk the hell out of any Canada connection. I laughed out loud at that one.
samsnee
I am really warming up to her character. Seeing her (Monica) learning about her powers and actually enjoying using them reminds a bit of a season one feel.

Definitely. She's like the Hiro of this season. The one character who is actually enjoying her powers. And Micah is pretty cool this season as well, being the Yoda to her Luke.
Accryleon
Monica and her friend suck. Who doesn’t identify a suspect? Especially if they were able to take him down with a single kick? I don’t get the “hiding it” syndrome in her case. It’s not like she used telekinesis or freezing or something clearly impossible. Sure, her action was unlikely, but I don’t think it’d raise “She’s a superhuman who needs to be studied!” red flags. (Though clearly it did with The Company, but it's not like she knows about them...yet.) I wouldn’t think that much of it if I heard about something like that.

From what I understand, the cop said that the suspect was part of a gang and that if Monica "snitch"ed, it's possible the gang would come after her and her family. Hence the not wanting to go along with it.

Speaking of Monica, I love her power! I hope she double dutches the hell out of anyone she crosses paths with.

Bring Hiro back from the past! Unless there's something really relevant to that storyline, bring him back.
SayWhat64
I loved Niki’s entrance, and I was glad Mohinder remembered her (at last, someone remembers something from Kirby Plaza! Yay!). So, she really does just have MPD, huh?

Even if she does really have MPD...it's in addition to her supastrength! I don't think she actually understands that even if they work out her issues with MPD, she'll still have powers beyond what normal people can do.

My first guess as to who Elle's daddy is....would be Tobby. I mean, who else would be dishing out the assignments? And as for the killing of Ricky - couldn't Peter haven't, like, started crying or bleeding all over him or something? I vaguely remember him healing someone before (using Claire's power).
Elul
Micah! Don't go to bed yet! You have to ID Mohinder for Monica.

Matt's dad is truly a supreme jackass. I didn't believe his "I'm scared and I'm really a good guy" B.S. for a second. Well, I believe that he's scared, but he damn well deserves what's coming to him. That said, his power is all kinds of interesting...but obviously not rock-solid, since Matt and Nathan were able to work their way free.

Poor fried Ricky. Totally saw it coming, but still...
CeramicFrog
Parkman, you should have known not to trust your dad! Molly calls him the Nightmare Man for a reason.

Poor Ricky. I knew he was dead meat the second he told Elle that he never saw Peter, but still. I liked the guy. And Peter is FINALLY getting out of Ireland. Thank God. Caitlin's still sticking around, though. Oh well.

Was that Jessica that stormed in and strangled Bob? If so, good to have her back. I love Niki, but if she's just going to the Company for help, after everything they did to her, then she's lost major points.

I like that Sylar is being so upfront with Alejandro in the promo. But since he can't speak English, it's sort of moot.
MoreRidonkulous
Also: Parkman? WTF?! it was HIS baby? gosh. I can't even process that right now.

That wasn't a proper "reveal" about the baby. It's Parkman's greatest fear being used against him.

In other words, there's really no proof its true.

That said, his power is all kinds of interesting...but obviously not rock-solid, since Matt and Nathan were able to work their way free.

There are two possible "wanks" for this.

1.) Parkman, having mental powers, has a greater ability to break free of mental manipulation.
2.) Parkman Senior's powers seem to persist after he leaves a location. But maybe they DO fade eventually. Enough time passed so they did in this case.

The good:
Loved the hallucinogenic Nathan vs. Matt scene. Monica learning kung fu. Mohinder... just because. A picture of Nathan in the identity box. And finally, a welcome break from The Claire Show.

The bad:
Matt's father could be a much better written jackass. And am I the only one who was supremely underwhelmed by KB's performance? If the hype had been less, I probably would have enjoyed her scenes more.

The ugly:
Okay, TPTB, listen up. Hiro is enthusiastic, powerful, and well-liked by the audience. So stop sticking him in the dumbest storylines you can come up with. That is all.
Unusual Suspect
Very cool episode. Hiro's journeys in the past continues to move glacially, but at least everything else moved. Monica still has one of the coolest powers. It's not just TV.
SugarcultAddict
Why couldn't it have been Caitlin WHY!? *Cries over Rickys smoking chared remains*

Seriously how long will she be able to serve a purpose in the Heroes Universe?

And it's only been a few days, Peter had no idea who he was, was beaten up by Irish thugs, and bullied into robbing a armoured truck, I'd still be to freaked out, to become deeply invested in a relationship.

Peter is so hot when he goes all Isaac like. :D

Elle, hmmm...does is Kristin Belle always this annoying?

That picture in the box is of your Hus...I mean brother!
NicoleBauer
I'm really confused: how is he keeping Molly in a coma? Is his power creating somnambulistic trances in others (i.e., a REM-powered version of Candace's power)?

Also, I'm disappointed in Elle*: it's like they directly transplanted Veronica Mars, but with a serious personality disorder. I was spoiled on her power, but damn, having seen it, it seems like such a direct reference to Veronica's TASER that Rob Thomas should sue. Hopefully she won't be keeping up the private-eye schtick these next couple of episodes, so I can stop looking for Wallace. (Then again, I spent most of VMars Season 3 doing that, so it shouldn't be a new feeling.)

That picture in the box is of your Hus...I mean brother!

Hee! I half expected Caitlin to be all, "Is there anythin' ELSE about your past life I should know about?"

As for Niki, given the promos, it's possible that she didn't really have a relapse in her MPD, but that Bobolowski convinced her she was having one to get her into the facility so that they could experiment on her with the virus.

*Have we heard Kristen Bell's character's name yet on the show? Or are they pulling a Thompson, where everyone pretty much knows the name from online sources/the press, so they don't bother to actually put it in the script?

ETA: Damn, you people are fast.
queenofsarab
I was worried at first, but so far I love Kristen Bell's character - my favorite moment was when she was on the phone and got the whiny, "Geez, I just killed a guy, no biggie," voice on. Could be a very interesting character.

Monica rocks. Her power is one of my favorites so far, and I love her interactions with Micah - I've always thought he was adorable, but he's even better when Niki's plot isn't dragging him down.

Parkman's dad was CREEPY. He actually had me fooled when Matt first broke down the door, which I think made his smirky exit after locking Matt up that much more disturbing. I'm really finding the plot with the older generation more compelling than I'd expected.

I like Hiro's story, but it's kind of dragging. The bits they gave us tonight felt kind of pointless and like a retread of what we've already seen.

Good episode overall. It feels like the show is gaining momentum, and I for one am superexcited to see what's next.
AngleMan
I'm so amused that even as a Hero KB still uses a variation on Mr Sparky.

Sadly the do not snitch rule is still around and powerful. I think it had more to do with that as opposed to her hiding her power.

Here's a question. In behind the eclipse they said that she cannot duplicate someone's power, because she's limited by what her body can do, but if Peter ever gets her power then can he duplicate a power he sees on tape? because his body doesn't have those limitations.
Warden
So whats going on with Matt and Nathan? So papa Parkman is able to give nightmares to anyone, not just Molly?

It must be an advancement of his mental powers. I'm sure Matt has it within himself to do it as well. He was the one who "broke through" it and told Nathan to stop.
Nathan was in the military?

So-said his campaign ads at least.

I missed a lot of things in the first season.
redhairedgirl
That scene with Matt and Nathan beating eachother up in their nightmares was AWESOME.

"Okay, so I killed the guy. What's the big deal?" Heh. Who does she report to? Who's her Daddy now?

Matt's dad is so totally Sauron. Or the Scarecrow, without the stupid mask.
SayWhat64
Matt's dad is truly a supreme jackass. I didn't believe his "I'm scared and I'm really a good guy" B.S. for a second. Well, I believe that he's scared, but he damn well deserves what's coming to him. That said, his power is all kinds of interesting...but obviously not rock-solid, since Matt and Nathan were able to work their way free.

I saw Matt being able to break his way out of the dream because of his own mind-messing powers.
binturite
So, apparently Pappy Parkman is a powerful telempath, who can lock on people's minds (in a couple of ways) and also create illusions powerful enough to exist even after he's out of their presence.

That's big and bad enough for me. I just hope for the heroes sakes he's doesn't have any more tricks up his sociopathic sleeve.

And btw, when I saw Matt walking right into an obvious trap, all I could think was, "Dang, this boy's been hanging around Momo toooo long."

Hiro storyline = my attention drifting despite the presence of DA.

Monica/Micah storyline = a SF version of an afternoon special featuring a close-to-being Mary Sueish character with a bad accent.

Aw shucks, despite the lame Oirish storyline. I kinda liked Ricky.
