So how do Bionics actually work anyway? Although Jaime and Sarah have machine parts, they seem have to work out anyway. I'm thinking that the parts are not all machine (there is flesh and blood seems to still flow through them) and need to be "trained" to be kept in service.
Since Sarah's Bionics are failing her, will the same happen to Jaime? How long does Jaime have before she starts to shut down? So many questions!
I hate that they haven't provided us with more information but hopefully we can get an ep where we get a Bionics 101 lesson. Since this is a "secret" government agency, I'm also expecting to see some cool gadgets.

Interesting topic, too bad they've been very vague and inconsistent on this so far. I'm wondering if they bothered to work it out at all. Here's what I've seen so far:
Anthrocites - nanites that travel through Jaime and Sarah's bodies, conducting repairs, filtering out toxins like the nicotine out of Sarah's blood whens he smokes (but curiously not the alcohol from Jaime's blood when she drinks) and presumably preventing rejection.
Bionic limbs - Judging by the innards shots we've seen, they seem to be a metal skeleton covered with synthetic muscle. I assume that it's some kind of high strength metal like tungsten or titanium that won't set off airport metal detectors and is non-magnetic (otherwise it'd be pretty easy to stop her). They have not said anything about synthetic muscle, but it would explain why Jaime needs to work out with the new limbs.
They don't exactly go into how they are attached to the body or if there' any kind of reinforcement of Jaime or Sarah's spine, even though there has to be something, otherwise Jaime would have shattered her tailbone in the pilot. If it's just her legs and not her hips, she could not run 60mph either. Or when Sarah punched Jaime in the face it sent her flying into the wall, rather than crushing her face, it makes you think there has to be some kind of reinforcement of her whole body.
Ear/eyes - The ear can pick up faint sounds, like a microphone and amplifier and Jaime seems to have learned to filter the background noise pretty quick. We have yet to see if she can hear beyond human range (like dogs or spiders). The eye seems to have a simple zoom rather than anything more complicated, along with some sort of targeting program, which makes sense given the former military applications.
Other stuff - she has some sort of computer in her head that processes the information from the ear and eye. That's not too unbelieveable, although I read an article a while ago by William Gibson saying that computer chips (basically a piece of glass) implanted in the brain seemed quaint and that most neural computers would be biological in nature.
The GPS/streaming video - This means there has to be some kind of transmitter in her head, which is a bit much to believe. Isn't it a bit dangerous to be transmitting EM waves (most likely microwaves) through your brain all the time? Although it would explain why Sarah went insane.
Second, where does the power come from to transmit? When Jaime's in SF it's one thing, but going out to the middle of nowhere in Idaho would require one hell of a transmitter. It could also explain why Sarah was 'hacked' but one would think that Berkut would use some kind of encrypted/secure transmission.
I have yet to figure out why Jaime would get a nosebleed when she turns this whole thing on or off, considering the in the innards shot didn't look like it was anywhere near her nose (other than to let us the viewers know that she just turned it on/off)
I'm hoping for an explanation of all this, but I'm not holding my breath for it.

They should just say her skeleton is bonded with Adamantium and be done with it.

I'd like to know where the power comes from, period. She's not sprinting at 60mph and leaping tall buildings off of a freaking Happy Meal.
These fool writers probably haven't even read Timothy Zahn's
Cobra series, which actually attempts to give some science to bionic superfolk. Timothy happens also to be a decent sci-fi writer, which can't be said for anything yet on this series.

That would be a scene worth seeing: Sarah and Jaime fight, throw a few punches realize they're running out of energy, so they head to the nearest restaurant down the street, eat about three meals each, but are too full to fight so Sarah skips out, leaving Jaime with the check.
In the original I think they mentioned Jaime and Steve's bionics were nuclear powered (which presents its own problems, but at least they tried)

Heh...reminds me of this character from the anime "Darker Than Black"; he eats about 10 times as much as a normal person, but never gains any weight. That would be better than bionics, IMHO.

Well, we got a little more insight into the Bionics this episode. So Jaime has 5 years to live because the Anthrocites will eventually stop working. They only have enough energy to power Jaime/Sarah for a short time. Interesting.

I'm more confused than ever. Are her bionics some sort of prosthetic? She doesn't seem to feel normal pain levels from those areas. Maybe her nerves don't work at all and the computer part of the bionics sends signals to her brain simulating nerve responses but in times of great pain it sends a muted signal. I hate that I have to fanwank this, it's the fourth episode and I have no idea how her bionics work at all. Lame.
It's also like the writers are at odds with each other regarding the anthrocites. Like they felt they needed some explanation for why the bionics wouldn't be rejected by her body so they came up with anthrocites in the concept stage, but whoops, they need to have Jaime get shot in an episode so now what? Now anthrocites won't let her body reject metal, they'll just move it around in her body. Metal! How dumb is that? Are anthrocites so dumb they can't tell be programmed to distinguish the chemical properties of different metals? Conceptually, wouldn't anthrocites have to do everything on a molecular level? For them to function as they do they have to be on a way more micro level than not being able to distinguish between metals implies. I'm not sure I'm making sense but omg, all they had to say was that bionics are made of a particular metal, bullets are not that metal, so they get rejected.
