Gloria Estefan performs; one couple must leave.
Stella MD
Poor Mel. Worse than Mark? Worse than Marie? Boo.

Oh, Wade Robson, I am so over you and your Emmy-fueled ego. And must every dance of yours involve the same predictable zombie/bride of Frankenstein girls lurching along straight out of the Thriller video? His choreography is tolerable on SYTYCD (enjoyable even, when compared to the likes of Mia Michaels) but here it was just too - I’ll be polite and say “avant garde” - to follow professional ballroom dancers actually dancing.

On a different note, didn’t we see the exact same montage of stars prattling on about their performance fears last week, or is this filler drivel just blurring together?
leahsmom
Thank you Jesus. Bye Floyd. At least someone finally coached you on how to "leave gracefully".

Wade Robson made this usually torturous hour of television worth watching for once.
mtlchickie
Floyd goes home, and I get Maks hanging with the Spice Girls next week. Whoo!
missmaisydaisy
I missed the show - who else was in the bottom 2? Was it really Mel (judging from an entry above)? I can hardly believe that...
tip and fall
I missed the show - who else was in the bottom 2?

Mel B.

By the way, was she actually crying, or getting close to it? It looked like it.

First, glad we didn’t have to watch Cheetogirl again. I actually enjoyed Cameron’s Paso. The music was dreadful, but I really liked this number last night, too. Edyta looks really beautiful in that shade of blue.

The pro’s number was great. At least what we saw of it. I’d rather have not seen that much of the backup singers, though they did a better job with that than they normally do with the music. Of course, that’s not the hardest number to sing, either.

Speaking of being great, Wade is nothing short of brilliant. Warped, but brilliant. I loved the choreography and only wish we could have seen a bit more of the whole stage as opposed to just one spot. As usual, the camera work sucked. Can’t say as I was stunned it appeared that Wade had given them one of his usual oddball descriptions for the number.

Wayne, sorry to say, sounded absolutely awful. I know he came on at the last moment to replace Gloria Estefan, but he does not sound good. Drew and Cheryl, on the other hand, were fan-frickin-tastic! I was impressed by how far Drew has come as a dancer since his time on the show. Doing the tour definitely improved everything for him. I wish we’d seen more of the dancing and less of the drummer hitting the drums and less of Wayne.

I was stunned that Karina was making the faces she was when they were announced as the bottom two. She seemed not only not stunned, but kind of had this look like she was thinking, “Yeah, yeah. We know it, we’re bottom two so just say it and get on with things already!” The rolling of the eyes when it was announced was a tad annoying, though.

Samantha shows yet again she can’t stand and talk at the same time. Gads but she sucks.

No big shock that Floyd and Karina were the ones going home tonight. I think his hissy fits turned a lot of fans off throughout the season. I know he worked hard, but I think he was just too far out of his element to be successful.

ETA:
By the way, was she actually crying, or getting close to it? It looked like it.

I don't think she was crying just yet, but the tears were welling up and she definitely looked like she was going to start at any second. I felt really bad for her.
Traderex
Where was Gloria Estefan? They said she wasn't there for personal reasons. Is she okay?
akg24
WTF? Mel and Maks in the bottom two? That is just WRONG. So, so wrong. I get mad at shows where America votes.
jessicalynn1999
I walked into the room during the Wade Robson performance and serioulsy thought the Backstreet Boys were on DWTS. Backstreet's Back... ALRIGHT!!!!!
thethinman
I was thrilled to see Anna back for the specialty dances. But what was that crap masquerading as inmates at a funhouse?
DinkyD21
Mel should not have been in the bottom 2. America, we are about to fight.

Floyd, see ya baby. He went out like a champ at least.

I hated Wade Robson's circus freak show. He's better than that.

eta:

When he was still on the show I was thinking Wayne should keep his day job, but now I'm not so sure he can even still pull that off. He sounded horrific. Think about retirement buddy.
RunninRedbird
Unlike, say, almost every other pro exhibition on the results show, at least the camera work focused on Wade and his troupe instead of 1/2 on the dancers, 1/2 on the singers.

And the woman singing lead on the MSM song was very pretty.
TryingHarder
Where can I vote for Drew and Cheryl?
stafford
I didn't think there could be anything worse then watching Wayne dance until I heard him sing tonight...OMG that was so bad.
agardner
Was it my imagination or did Floyd and Karina look relieved when they were eliminated?

I can't believe Mel was in the bottom two.

A lot of Wade's routines look quite similar, just with slightly different 'quirky' costumes and themes. The camera work was good though.

I loved the pro dance.
Babs1981
There would have been absolute hell to pay if I was deprived of seeing Maks hang out with the Spice Girls.
aggiemom
Yeah, I kind of had that feeling that Mel might be in trouble......she's so falling between the cracks what with all the attention and talk on Cheetah Girl/ Jane and her drama/Marie's personality on the floor and Jennie's very good performances these last two weeks. But, I'm still shocked that she was there instead of Mark - c'mon people! Even though the waltz wasn't her best dance, she's a much better dancer than bottom 2 at this point! Not good for Mel.

Loved the pro dance and I thought the couples were perfectly in sync and danced it well.

No comment on the Wayne/Cheryl/Drew dance.
missmaisydaisy
What was Mel and Maks reaction to being in the bottom 2? Did they look freaked or how did they handle it? Boy, I'm throwing all my votes their way now (so far I've been splitting between them and Marie/Jonathan).
dc chick
Hey...that woman who sang the Gloria Estefan song should be the only one allowed to sing from now on. She was no Gloria, but she was good. Oh, and Tony, Maks, Elena and Anna were AWESOME. I want more of that every week (although I still prefer Anna dancing with Jonathan).

I love to see Drew and Cheryl dance. I know some people are over them, but they just make me smile every time. I especially thought she looked really pretty tonight. Wayne...oh, Wayne. Honey, I think it's time to retire. Or at least retire from my television screen.

I'm ready for Alec to come back for a pro dance. Like...now.

And last but not least...BYE FLOYD! I won't miss your attitude, but I will miss Karina.
MarigoldSkye
Gross. Mark Cuban lives on another week on my screen to annoy the hell out of me.

I feel guilty for not voting for Mel this week like I'd planned--I will rectify this next week. There's no way Mel should leave before Marie or Mark, no way at all. I appreciated the fact that Bruno didn't skirt the issue when Tom asked him who should go home--the fact that he was so adamant that Mel was better is a testament to her potential and skill. I hope she sticks around a while, at least longer than Marie, Jane and Mark--and if I'm really lucky, Sabrina.

Wade Robson's 'performance' made me laugh. Seriously, I had tears streaming. What the hell WAS that? I've seen his work with other groups and it was scarily similar to this stuff--just silly.
whyistherumgone
I knew it. Mel is not long for this show. Unless this wakes up her fans, but that's not usually how it goes down on this show. She's good...but she's not a lot of people's "favorite". Not like Helio, or Jane, Sabrina, or Cameron. None of her dances stick out to me. Oh well. I love Maks, but I think he'll be gone in a show or two.

I knew Pretty Boy Floyd would be the one to go. And that's fine with me. I am just glad Mark is getting to stick around, because I like him.
drmka9
Where was Gloria Estefan? They said she wasn't there for personal reasons. Is she okay?

One of her close relatives became suddenly ill.

But, seriously...Mel and Maks? I guess that's proof that being in the middle of the pack score-wise is really the most dangerous place to be.
DinkyD21
What was Mel and Maks reaction to being in the bottom 2? Did they look freaked or how did they handle it?

I thought Mel seemed freaked out and Maks a bit shocked. Hell, I was shocked. Mark knew he should get his ass over there and take her spot that he deserved.
Freckles101
Poor Mel. Worse than Mark? Worse than Marie? Boo.

Aww, I haven't seen the show yet, but that sucks. Unfortunately my internet was down so I couldn't vote for her last night, but I thought her VW was beautiful.

Who was dancing during the WADE number?
vegas616
Mel and Maks in bottom 2 - get real. Don't assume couples are safe and give your votes to others. Vote for whom you like and who is a better dancer. Come on Mark Cuban better than Mel? Don't think so.
skylighter
Well, I'm not surprised that Mel and Maks ended up in the bottom two. I've been thinking all season (all four weeks anyway) that Maks' choreography right now is not going to cut it in terms of making a strong impression on the general audience. Almost every other couple has something about them that is striking a chord with the audience. Jennie has had two fantastic weeks after falling at the end of a performance. Mark Cuban is winning a lot of people over with his work ethic and desire to stay on the show. Marie's sense of humor is winning over a lot of people. And so on and so forth. Mel and Maks need some sort of breakout performance to really catch attention because they are really just blending in right now.
msrayrudd
Can I vote Drew/Cheryl back onto the show? It wasn't completely polished, but considering they threw it together in under 24 hours and were dancing to something that barely passes for singing, I still love them.

Wasn't that that surprised that it was Mel. Felt so bad for her though because she looked like she wanted to cry. I think it was a case of just her not having the most exciting dance last night and getting lost in the mix.

Thankfully Floyd went home.

Liked Cameron better tonight. I guess once I got past the song. Also Edyta gets mucho credit for getting something that resembles a Paso out of that crap.

I like Wade's routines on SYTYD--or most of them. But this I didn't care for. Does he always do that same zombie stuff in everything?
GraceTX
I've been throwing all my votes towards Mark and Kym the past few weeks because there's no way he deserved to go home before Wayne and Floyd. Now that they're gone, I'll go back to voting for Mel B and Maks until someone just really WOWs me.

BTW, did the guy in the box, front right look like Pasha from SYTYCD to anyone else but me?
MensaWhiteTrash
I think a lot of people voted for Mark just to make sure that Floyd was going home. I think Mel got lost in the shuffle.
blackwing
Goodbye Floyd. It's about time. Poor Mel. She didn't deserve that.

I've never heard of that tool with the starfish on his eye. What a dork.
kalliep
Who was dancing during the WADE number?

Mr. Robson himself, as well as a Travis Wall sighting. It was a nice routine but Wade seriously has to lay off the twisted stuff. I prefer his pop stuff over the freak circus, swamp monsters and Thriller rip-offs.

I guess I'm gonna have to start voting for Mel B. next week. She doesn't have a standout performance yet but she's easily better than most of the folks that were safe. Best part of the night though? Bye Floyd!
sweetpd7
The bottom two should have been Mark and Floyd with MARK going home. Mel being in the final two was awful. I also hated it that they picked Cameron (?) and Floyd in the middle, telling Cameron he was safe. Then saying Floyd was in the bottom 2. The bottom 2 are usually from the last 4. I think it was mean to let Floyd think for a minute he was safe, then send him straight to bottom 2 hell.

My son told me he'd read the Mark asked the Governor and other officials to tell the state of Texas, basically, to vote for Mark. Mark is just a talentless, sleezy people smoozer. I am so disgusted. Okay, he's good at making money and influencing others, but he's a crappy dancer.
kbcubed
According to the news Gloria Estafan's mother is in poor health. Not to be superstitious but that makes two participants who have been impacted by family health issues.

On to the snark - who styled Samantha? I don't know which was worse, the hair or the dress. Not a fan of the glued on puff ball on the top of the head. Maybe it looks ok from head on but from the side it looks like something you'd do before you washed the car. And please, no new mother should be wearing an item of clothing that does not support the "chesticles" (Lorne Elliot). That item looked like one good cough and we all could have "got milk".

From watching the celebs and the pros it looks like this program is a wonderful mix of fun and work. Maybe it's like summer space camp - enjoyable hard work with a goal. They really don't want to go home and leave their friends and fun.

And can I have Tom Beregon mc our next all staff meeting. He's quick and effortless with the pick up.
rue bee
Mel! That was just wrong. She so did not deserve that.
chocolatefix
Note to Producers: The title of the show is DANCING with the Stars. If you're going to put so much filler in a DANCING show, please show the DANCING!!! I don't need to see the drums and I certainly don't need to see the singers for so long. The camera work stinks on this show.

Glad to see Cameron and Edyta's dance again. As much as the music selection was horrid, I thought, again, that Edyta did a great job with the choreography. They really seemed to being doing moves that made sense with the music. I said it in the other thread and I'll say it here....Great job making the most of a bad situation.
bluvelvet
I was very surprised to see Mel and Maks in the bottom 2, I haven't been voting this season but I may have to start. My favorites right now are Jennie and Mel.

As for Wayne, agree with everyone, he did not sound well and he looked stiff.

I liked Wade's performance, it was very similar to things he has done in the past however I got to see Wade himself dance, the boy can move.

Floyd, it was your time.
Lady V
I think Mel was bottom two because so many threw votes at the billionaire in order to make sure that egotistical braggart went home this week.

It will probably work in her favor in the long run. Maks fans will vote, and the judges may be kinder. Billionaire had to stay this week in order to get whats-his-name out of there. BTW, the media thread has a link to the boxer whats-his-name calling the others has-beens (etc) and proclaiming himself the most important celebrity this season. Gag. Hey buddy? See ya. Oh, and I never even heard your name before DWTS, so get over yourself.

I am glad Cameron got the dance because it really was one of my favorites last night, and I do think he has improved the most. Jennie was my other favorite, and she just had one...so, I am glad they are mixing it up.

Has Edyta ever even had a showcased dance before? I loved watching her be something other than a good sport and smiley in the rehearsal footage...it was a glimpse of someone who found themselves, finally, with a dancer who could actually improve, and she really worked his strengths. Nice.
squeebunk
Favorite moments:

Maks saying, "our peeps, yo!" *giggle*

Tony and Jane finding out they were safe. Awwww! I adore Tony!

Wade's glittery red Macy's star. Can we say walking advertisement? I liked his routine.

Mark's genuine glee at finding out he was safe. (don't think it will last long, to be honest)

And the outting of the diva and fighter. Way too much attitude clouding the scene.

Overall, I found this to be a more enjoyable results show. I think a big part for me was not being subjected to that horrific music for the performance show. The little stage number they did with the samba was quite good. Why it can't always be like that, I really don't know. (I'm glad the encore performance had no vocals...yipes) I was really surprised about Mel and Maks being in the bottom. I thought it was going to be Marie. Guess I have to start voting next week. (I love it when Maks gets really tickled and laughs...SO cute!)
GraceTX
My son told me he'd read the Mark asked the Governor and other officials to tell the state of Texas, basically, to vote for Mark. Mark is just a talentless, sleezy people smoozer. I am so disgusted. Okay, he's good at making money and influencing others, but he's a crappy dancer.

I'm in Texas, Dallas in fact, and I haven't heard any such news. Are you sure that's true and not just some rumor like Mikey, the Life cereal kid dying from eating Pop Rocks?
etexlady
Oh, Wayne, Wayne, Wayne. Did the doc mess up and you got botoxed vocal cords? Man, that was really pitiful.
thesurfview
Mark is winning a lot of people over with his work ethic and great attitude. He knows he's not the best dancer - never has pretended to be. And he doesn't need the show to revive a sagging career. He is doing it for the pure enjoyment. And you have to give him proaps that of all contestants, he is coming from a totally different profession. And I love defying the judges.
CloudyGumdrops
I didn't see most of the show (only the last 5 minutes), but it sounds like I didn't miss much.

I'm kinda glad I didn't see the pro dance. I don't like seeing Anna dance with someone who's not Jonathan. Those 2 just mesmerize me, even with others on the floor with them.

Mel should not have been bottom 2. Middle of the pack really is the worst place to be. It's great that Floyd is gone, cause he really needed to go.
Hyper Critical
I think Mel was bottom two because so many threw votes at the billionaire in order to make sure that egotistical braggart went home this week.
Raising hand high and proudly!!! I kind of like Mark's work ethic and intensity, but my voting for Mark has come to an end. If he stays on, it'll be without my assistance - at least next week I'm throwing those votes to Mel.

Loved the Wade piece and so wish that the Chriss Angel/Cirque show was going to tour and not be based at the Luxor, I think we got a hint of what that will be like tonight. So nice to see Wade dance, and I recognized Travis, does anyone know who else was behind the make-up and masks?
oakgal
I knew it! I posted last night that I thought Mel/Maks would be in trouble. That's the damn judging scores again. All this grouping of scores is screwing people over. Carrie Ann is shocked? Bruno is shocked? Why? They caused this mess. If they would score accurately instead of trying to flash the big paddles this wouldn't happen. No way did most of those dances last night deserve multiple 9s, let alone 10s. Cameron, Mark, Helio, Jane, Sabrina and Marie were so ridiculously overmarked. It skews everthing--it's all too close and that's how someone good like Mel gets stuck in the bottom. Plus, she's getting overlooked.

Mel/Maks need a dynamite number next week. If they get the Rhumba as I expect, I think they have the opportunity to make a real impression on everyone. Maks does great rhumbas--Willa's was sexy and Laila's was very hot. Now the costume department has to stop dressing Mel so badly. She needs less fabric. She can totally get away with some skimpy costumes.

Loved seeing Mel dance with Anna. Love them. The backup singer was pretty good, that's a cool opportunity for her. She seemed to love doing it. Good for her.

I liked Wade's Wacky Circus. It was fun and he's a good dancer, I've never seen him dance before. Couldn't spot Travis though. Where was he?

Drew and Cheryl have a lovely rapport. I liked their hybrid dance, it wasn't perfect, but it was fun. Wayne Newton on the other hand---yeesh. That was bad. I think that was worse than Seal last week.

Bye-bye Floyd and Karina, I won't miss you.
goyourownway
Since im an avid SYTYCD watcher, I was excited to see Wade's routine tonight, but felt it was just "ok". The last Wade routine I loved was this one, the top 20 sytycd dancers on the results show. I like it when he is twisted, but this one reminded me too much of Ramalama, the circus version.

Oh and Wayne's singing tonight was just...graaaffafafjjjaa! Yikes.
arlykeeno
Can people please stop voting for Mark Cuban now? This is exactly what I was afraid would happen, and Mel would slip through the cracks because a) that's what ABC hoped for and was trying to get by ignoring her all the time, and b) too many people were voting for Mark in the hopes that Floyd would go home, when they really didn't like Mark all that much but they just wanted Floyd gone. But DAYUM. For Mel to be as good as she is and to be in the B2 already? It sucks. It sucks the big wazoo, and there is just no excuse for it.

I blame freakin' Carrie Ann. That extra point might've made the difference. At least Maks gets to go to London and meet the other Spice Girls. But I'm still mad that Mel was B2. Grrrrrrr...

Hmmm... Let me puzzle this out. Sabrina and Cameron were the ones with inflated scores and the most buzz and attention (perfect 30 and encore) and they just happen to be the first two told they're safe, so they get extra interview time. The Disney fix is in, and they want Sabrina and Cameron in the final four. Helio, too, although I'm not sure why. Does Disney have a connection to Indy? Betcha nickel that Sabrina, Cameron, Marie and Helio are the F4, to give us that Cheetah, All My Kids, ET and [whatever the hell Helio represents to them] cross-promo.

Is it irony or satire that they gave CamMat the encore after that endless discussion of lifts, and then the number starts out with the biggest lift of all, even though it was the one that didn't get dinged? Edyta danced it even better tonight, though. I'm impressed that she managed to find something, anything to choreograph to that music.

Good old Samantha. "Stupor-human" has possibilities, though. Maybe we should alert Webster's. "Stupor-human" actually describes Samantha very well.

EEEEK! Wayne and Marie AND Joan Rivers on the same show? That much plastic surgery in one place may pull all of California into a black hole of silicone and botox!

Before they went to the WADE, they said something like, "Who will be safe next?" and focused on just Mark and Jennie. And I was like, well, I guess we know who's going to be called safe next. And sure enough... Plus, as soon as they said Mark was safe, I knew that meant that Mel would be in the bottom two. They also telegraphed it by interviewing her and Maks (want to get that London/Spice Girls mention in and can't if she's going to be in the B2) when Mark was declared safe. Like, okay... Talk to the ones who don't know they're safe yet. That makes sense only if they're NOT safe and this is your only chance to talk to them.

The only good thing about this episode was that the WADE was awesome. I think I caught Travis in there, but I'm not sure.

On the opposite side of my Wish-O-Meter, I was hoping never to see Jimmy Kimmel again. Too bad for me. Pointless and stupid piece, although it was nice to see Mel for a second and a half extra, cause Lord knows she won't get any other promo from this show.

And I'm hoping to never hear Wayne Newton "sing" again, either. He was actually worse than the fake Gloria Estefan lady, and that's a pretty low bar to crawl under. Drew and Cheryl did an okay dance, but I thought they were supposed to be doing a fox trot. I thought I saw quickstep and jive, so maybe it was just a melange kinda dance.
westwinger247
Where can I vote for Drew and Cheryl?

If you find it, let me know. I wanna vote, too.
harvestbasket
There is more bunching than The Amazing Race on DWTS! Carrie Ann, why are you surprised? Stop overscoring Sabrina and give Mel her due! I agree that Maks needs to have her stand out. Wade-interesting. Thought I saw Donyelle and Travis from SYTYCD.

Overall, as long as the final 3 includes Jennie and Mel, I'll be happy.
MarkC99
As if I didn't love Drew enough, he gives Wade Robson (with the silly star over his eye) the WTF look, puncturing that horrible Wade Robson pretentiousness which has no place on a fun show like DWTS.

Travis Wall! Travis Wall! Now if only they'd shown more closeups of him.

Drew and Cheryl were phenomenal, superb, and a delight. Do you see how alive Cheryl is when she dances with Drew?

Every week the judges, particularly Carrie Ann, act shocked if Mel doesn't stink up the dance floor. She also had a boring dance this week. I wasn't entirely surprised she was in the bottom two. Mark got a lot of votes to get rid of Floyd. Mark will probably leave next, which is fair, even though I like him and I love Kym. I'm probably going to give all my votes to Mel next week (this week I voted for Jennie, Mel, and Marie), just in case.

What will it take to get Cameron off this show?

Why did the band singer sound so good tonight when the band usually sounds so bad on performance nights?
