Nooooo! Come back Drew!
* Mark/Kym (Viennese Waltz): Kym’s dress is ugly. That looked really awkward imo. There the was no continuous movement and looked stilted. Not enjoyable to me. Even Kym’s choreo didn’t impress me this week.
* Mark/Sabrina (Paso Doble): That dress does not suit Sabrina. They’ve yet to put her in something flattering imo. She’s got a nice figure. Horrid song! Worst one for a Paso Doble yet! They did well, but once again, she’s too damn hard and plundering through everything. I wanted to see some sultriness and passion from her, but all she did was overpower through yet another dance. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: this girl just has no softness or femininity. I don’t know what they were doing, but it only slightly felt Paso-ish. I can’t wait to see her power her way through a Waltz. ha
* Jane/Tony (Viennese Waltz): Jane was elegant as expected. Lovely, I really enjoyed them. Her dress floated so beautifully. Gorgeous
* Floyd/Karina (Paso Doble): They both look great. That was some of Karina’s best choreo yet imo. I’ve never enjoyed F&K before, but they did a really good job this week. Wasn’t the best dance ever. That music sounded like something out of an Indiana Jones movie. Lol
* Maks/Mel B (Viennese Waltz): I like them more and more every week. I can call myself a fan now. Why do they keep putting her in such ugly dresses? She’s got such a great figure. I liked their routine, but something was off about it. I can’t put my finger on what, but it kept me from fully enjoying the dance. Probably the choreo. It didn’t flow I guess?
* Cameron & Edyta (Paso Doble): Edyta looks stunning as always. Cameron’s shirt is seriously fug. I liked it. Better than what M&S and F&K came up with. Cameron improved immensely. Great choreo from Edyta! Hee, that music was hilarious. The Paso song choices just keep getting worse.
* Jonathan & Marie (Viennese Waltz): I like her dress. Looks like she’s slimmed down. She was looking really elegant. Jonathan is just a fabulous teacher and choreographer; best on the show probably. I liked that even better than Tony/Jane (though, it probably wasn’t technically as good). Just beautiful imo. I like that she can do subdued along with her usual outward charisma.
* Derek & Jennie (Paso Doble): Great look for them. And…the songs just keep getting worse. Derek’s dancing really stood out for the first time. He didn’t overshadow Jennie though which is important. I’m sorry, the song just took me out of the dance. It looked good though, but I just couldn’t get into it (because of that song). Nice job though. I covet her dress. Jennie is the best dressed every week. I hope she keeps getting great outfits. Boy, those Houghs really know how to choreograph a number.
* Helio & Julianne (Viennese Waltz): Yay, Helianne! I adore her dress! He looks fabulous too. The choreo didn’t disappoint. That was just gorgeous. My fave dance of the night easily. Helio looks better than he did last week too. Her dress just sparkled so wonderfully during spins. I lurve them! Enchanting
With every Paso Doble performed, we got a new Worst Paso Doble song ever! Haha
Next season let’s replace Carrie Anne and Samantha with Louis and Drew! Who’s with me? :D

Sarafem - All the judges need to look into it but especially Carrie Ann. WTH?!! That was crabtastic! I cringed - I do that a lot at tense stuff but DWTS doesn't usually do that to me. It was painful! And Drew - We miss you and need you-please come back! Seriously - Samantha being back was bad enough but this week, we could have totally used his low key "shake it off" energy.
Can I ask WTH was up with the whole lift controversy? Are they bad only if they happen when the judges underpants are too tight? Otherwise they're ok.
I was DYING at Dead or Alive - you know they're oh so spanish. I kept seeing in my head the Playgirl strip-off to that song that I got to view at the age of 15 sneaking a peak using my grandparents house. So TEN for taking me back to my youth DWTS!!! And a zero for a Paso Doble song choice!!! Sabrina - You were so cute tonight! I admit I really wanted to spit on a hanky and clean your face (girlfriend - step away from the fake tanner!) But you were cute and girlish and not cheetalicious.
Jane - gorgeous as always.
Cameron - you switched it on tonight! Still too stiff but it was soooo much better.
Marie - I agree with Len. It was lovely. Very lovely. And she's looking great.
Jennie - AWESOME! Craptastic music but still an awesome dance. I loved it and they both looked gorgeous. And I want to steal her children. So DAMN cute!!!!
Helio - was he hunching over during the first part? Julianne is aging so quickly. And I hate that - she looks older than her brother. Very pretty dance- I wasn't totally sold but it was very nice.
Most of my votes went to Mark - I like him better than Floyd
Oh and SAMANTHA - STFU!!!!!!!!! I actually forgot how awful she was.

Will watch the replays later as I only saw 3 of the dances since I'm at work (Jane looked DIVINE, Floyd is slowly improving and no comment about that 30 for Sabrina) but Carrie Anne decides NOW to start dinging them on the lifts? Cripes. Either remind them at the START of the season or do away with it for the rest of it. Getting into it in the FOURTH week is ridiculous.

How long did it take Sam to screw up? Less than eight minutes. Loved that she said Mark had the best dance of the night after he was the first dance. Shut up Sam! Want Drew back ASAP.
Though did Tom say a past couple back in the ballroom tomorrow night? Obvious call, Drew/Cheryl. It gives them a reason to bring Cheryl back and fans probably will be clamoring for Drew after tonight’s Sam fiasco. I’m calling Thriller Paso now. They did it on tour so they’ve performed it like crazy and would fit in with this week.
This week underwhelmed me, but I guess it was the dances. IMO, the Paso has only been done well by a handful of celebs in five seasons. Otherwise it looks painfully bad. Viennese also doesn’t look quite right after only a week.
Mark—Can’t help but like him. He comes across as the every guy on this show, whether he is in real life or not (obviously being a billionaire he’s not). Still would like to see him last longer than Floyd.
Sabrina—Didn’t love it as much as the judges, but good job. Figured the 10’s would show.
Jane—Why is Carrie Anne getting on about lifts now when there have been backflips and etc. galore for the first three weeks? I’m glad Len pointed it out that other couples have gone there without being penalized. At least be consistent about it. So Julianne and Mark B. can do whatever tricks they want, but Jane’s foot comes off the floor for a second and it becomes an issue?
Floyd—I thought this was horrible. Send him home. Shut up Carrie Anne.
Mel—Was pretty decent, but didn’t love it.
Cameron—He was definitely improved, but still can’t work myself up to get excited about him.
Marie—I liked it and unlike Bruno, I liked that she didn’t go for the camp factor and played it straight this week. Also thought they projected a nice chemistry. Jonathan is awesome.
Jennie—Favorite dance of the night. Go Jennie! She’s my underdog. How cute with their excitement over the 10. Also much credit to Derek, as the choreography was awesome. Julianne who?
Helio—Still the best of the men, but thought he looked a bit stiff. There’s something slightly off when he dances, but still pretty good for someone with no dance experience. Still don’t want him to win.

Sabrina/Mark? Perfection? REALLY? So the nearly missed turn, the ending on the wrong beat, all that was perfection and worthy of a ten? WHATEVER, Carrie Ann. She pissed me off about everyone she commented on, and usually I agree with her critiques (she's usually the only one GIVING THEM). But her stuff about Sabrina being perfection on her paso was rubbish, as was her nitpicking everyone else on lifts and anything else she could find. I was impressed with Sabrina's paso, too, but I wouldn't have given it a ten. I don't think the tens should've been cracked out at all tonight.
Jennie/Derek were my highlight tonight, as they were last week. And yes Jennie's feet WERE touching the ground, and I resent Carrie Ann for the fact that I started watching every dance JUST to see if the lifts were indeed lifts. Two of the people she accused of doing lifts actually never left the ground. Anyway, I appreciate Len giving them a ten, it really took the sting out of Carrie Ann's 8.
Carrie Ann should change her name to 'Was that a lift?' and Len needs to change his to 'Missing a few heel leads.'
Next season let’s replace Carrie Anne and Samantha with Louis and Drew! Who’s with me? :D
I'm with you!
I didn't really dislike anyone's dances tonight except for Mark, but that might be because I want him gone so very badly. I enjoyed everyone else a fair amount.
The "You Rock" award of the night goes to Edyta, for rolling her eyes at Carrie Ann.

Have to say my fave dance of the night was Jennie and Derek's Paso Doble, I loved the choreo but HATED the music. Even with the craptastic music I could still appreciate how great they did. Now I wish someone would set that choreo to real Paso music *sigh*.
Jane was beautiful and she was elegant in that dance.

Some of those music choices were just whacked. Superman, as a ballroom dance? Ooookay....
And seriously, does every single person on the show have a cute child, and did they think they could somehow get bonus points by bringing them out?
People who should not be allowed to dress themselves: Edyta and Sabrina. Edyta looked like she was wearing a bathing suit.
I had to laugh at the great Toe-Gate 2007. Carrie-Ann sure had a thing going on about the lifts! And it was funny how that same sweepy move wound up in so many of the women's dances...
My favourites tonight: Marie, Jane, Jennie, Helio
My favs overall: Jennie, Mel

I wasn't really loving tonight's episode. I don't know if the judges sucked all of the fun out of it or if I just wasn't into any of the dances, even though some of them were performed well.
I've learned not to take the judges very seriously, but Carrie Ann just bugged, because she was so adamant about certain people doing lifts but then sort of laughed it off with Cameron and Julianne. And when did Len become so carefree and willing to blow off the rules? It was just weird, all around.
I thought the best performances were by Sabrina, Marie, Mel and Helio. Jane was lovely but it didn't look like there was much waltzing going on. Jennie is definitely loosening up, but there was just something about her performance I didn't like as much as what she did last week. Although, as I mentioned, none of them felt incredibly strong to me this week for some reason.
I'd love to see Cameron go, but I think it's going to be between Mark and Floyd this week.

msrayrudd you really have been reading my mind all season (well all four episodes anyway). I was really rather "ho-hum" about most of tonight's dances, especially after seeing what's going on over on the Italian version. Anyway, Jennie was THE highlight for me tonight. She and Derek looked gorgeous and he really hit it out of the ballpark with the choreography. Imagine if they had gotten a decent song? Sabrina and Helio were the other enjoyable dances, and that's about it. And by the way, a big ol' F-U to the producers for the horrific Paso music tonight. It was bad on every possible level.
Next season let’s replace Carrie Anne and Samantha with Louis and Drew!
Freaking brilliant, especially having Louis instead of Carrie Ann. Then the celebs would actually get some genuinely useful criticism.

My husband walked in during Jennie's dance and I felt like I had to defend myself for watching a show with such terrible music. Didn't Tom mention something about how opinion was divided about the music, at least on the internet? Count me in as someone who wants Drew back. Samantha bobs and weaves almost as much as Floyd during one of his fights. Speaking of Floyd, I appreciated his attempts at better posture. I did not like Sabrina's dance. It was too hard yet again. Enjoyed the show.

What was with CarrieAnn tonight?? Seriously, people have been lifting like crazy and now she starts complaining? I loved how all the pros were complaining and making faces her way.
Sabrina Didn't deserve the perfect score. Great dance but not perfect
CameronWow he came out and sold it - fabulous!
Jenni I didn't think she had it in her. Looks like that fall 2 weeks ago lit a fire under her.
Mel I want her to beat out Sabrina!!!
Marie Damn good for her!!! I liked the lack of clowning/mugging.
Jane So pretty to watch
Helio A little tension there between the partners?
Mark I want him to outlast Floyd but other than that - everyone else is better.
Floyd Better but stil he needs to go.

What was with the massive overmarking this week? 9's and 10's for everybody?! (or so it seemed) I wish they would have a 1-5 scoring scale instead. It would make the judges' marks more honest.
Yeah... like Jane Seymour thought that whole "dancing barefoot across a huge canvas" scenario herself. Uh-huh. :-)
I thought Helio (as usual) is trying hard to improve. He alone among the men seems to understand the concept of "leading" - for the other guys it seems to be mostly about "how manly do I look"? However, I could have done without that all-white suit. This is the second week in a row where his costume has not flattered him.
Sabrina was terribly overmarked -- her whole routine looked overly studied and self-conscious. I would have given her 8's, tops.
Cameron's Superman shtick was embarrassing. The whole "Superman" comment happened 2 weeks ago already, so... why?!
Floyd didn't do anything to get himself out of this week's bottom 2. I could see him leaving and not Mark.

What a weird and bizarre show. Just when I decided that each music selection was the worst evah, a new contender would come warbling along. Yecccchhh. Some of those songs... There are no words.
I thought all of the pasos were overscored, and all of the waltzes underscored. Okay, except Mark, Marie, Helio and Floyd, for different reasons. Floyd was underscored among the pasos, or maybe rightly scored, but alone among the pasos. Mark I thought was awkward and off, Marie was once again dancing in molasses, and Helio was OFF THE MUSIC and awkward, awkward, awkward. Julianne left him alone for several bars, and I could read "Holy shit, I feel like an idiot. What am I doing???" written across his forehead. Did anybody notice when they were all clapping at the beginning that he can't clap to the beat? Interesting. But they gave him the pimp spot, and I'm guessing he's beating the crap out of the crowd voteswise.
I left the show frowning and cranky, that this is all in the bag for Helio and it's only week four. Helio and Marie as your final two? That's kind of... Obscene.
Oh well. But I think the point of this show is to make the audience all happy and cheery, and instead it made me uneasy and dissatisfied. Maybe it was idiot Carrie Ann and all the lift-nitpicking, when she has ignore freaking flips and nuclear-powered lifts for three weeks now, so suddenly a spin where their feet are arguably still on the floor gets dinged, while Julianne, the worst offender in previous weeks, gets a gold star and special mention from Carrie Ann for being the teacher's pet. WTF? Tell her I hate her.
Can't wait to see the confessionals from everyone whose ass she got on for lifts. There's gonna be some fuming going on from Tony and Maks and Edyta and Karina and whoever the other pros are that she doesn't like as well as she likes her some Julianne.
Ya know, I just hate feeling manipulated and screwed around with. It makes me want to not watch, which I don't think is what they're going for.

Jennie and Derek were my favorite by far. Her dancing gets more and more beautiful every week. I think she's finally relaxing and just flowing with it all. Her family is just adorable (and her husband is HOT!). LOVED that Ian was in the audience rooting for her. He looked stunned when she was done.
My other favorites were Cameron and Jane. He was just soooo much better this week and she was just so graceful and lovely.
My pick to go home? Floyd. Can't. Stand. Floyd. "My scores better change." WTF? Maybe if you stopped looking like a wound-up slinky on speed and would stand up straight and not pull the patented Mario Lopez "A.C. Slater hip hop skip steps" then people would lay off you. He's just so damn convinced that he's doing great. When he stands up straight, then I'll agree that he needs better scores.
Poor Mark. He's trying so hard. I'm actually enjoying him more than I would have expected.
I thought Sabrina was good but not nearly as good as the judges thought she was. I've gotten the exact same vibe from her cha cha, quickstep, jive and paso: speed and fire. That's not supposed to happen, right? Can't wait to see her rumba or waltz.
eta: Former champion and competitor? Drew and Cheryl? She said in her People feature (where she took questions from fans) that she's always open to dancing with him. But since he was just on the show, I'm going to guess Apolo and Julianne. I don't see Emmit coming back. And Kelly...well she was my pick during her season but I don't think she's ever coming on the show given how much higher the standard of dancing from the celebs is. So...Apolo. Or Drew. Or Emmit or Kelly. Hee.

Tonight was just not the same. I miss Drew and Carrie Ann needs to be gone now! I wish her and Samantha would leave the show. Tonight Sabrina and Mark were overscored and Jennie was underscored. If anyone deserved 10's it was Jennie. Her dance was the way the Paso should look. I really enjoyed everyone except Sabrina and Floyd. I hate that Marie got dinged for being more serious during a serious dance.

Can someone tell me what I was missing with Cameron and Floyd tonight? I thought their pasos were AWFUL. Simply awful. I thought they were stiff, awkward, the movements were clunky, and yet the judges kissed their asses to no end.
Could they be more obvious in their attempts to prop Cameron up? They gave him the Superman music to continue his Superman gimmick, then they overscore him.
I like Sabrina, I love Mark, I loved their paso, but I think giving her a 30 will do her more harm than good.
I can't say how much I admire Derek. To get *that* paso out of *that* disastrous music selection? I have no words.
Do you think tonight was supposed to be a reminder to the viewers to favor the golden children? Except for the pity cases like Cameron and Floyd, Carrie Ann was critical about everyone but Sabrina/Mark and Helio/Julianne. They opened and closed the show. Julianne and Helio slipped last week, and this week TPTB may have decided to put most of the others down at their expense.
I thought Mark Cuban was better than Floyd or Cameron tonight, but I know Mark will probably leave.

Ack, I know! It's my favorite dance, and this music was just horrible. I mean, when I'm thinking FONDLY of the days of Pasos to "Thriller" and "The Reflex", then you
know the music is on crack.
I thought Sabrina was good but not nearly as good as the judges thought she was. I've gotten the exact same vibe from her cha cha, quickstep, jive and paso: speed and fire. That's not supposed to happen, right? Can't wait to see her rumba or waltz.
I say the same thing EVERY week. "Can't wait until she has a slow dance." And you know what? My money's on Sabrina having the Samba next week, because I don't think she'll EVER do a slow dance.

You go Jennie! I am more and more impressed by this couple. For all the push for a female winner, I am pulling for Jennie. Unlike Sabrina, she seems to transform and I can distinguish each of her dances. Sabrina, though fine, still is a little to rough, too powerful. There lacks a softness, passion, feminine quality. Sabrina's ten-ever a more forgettable one? I am sure they will get the encore, but I barely remember it. I am also glad I wasn't the only one who missed their mistakes. I thought Len would call them out on it. It is becoming more obvious TPTB want a Sabrina/Helio finale.
Derek can choreograph. He had his moments, but it did not distract me from Jennie. It added to the dance, not distract or covering up Jennie. I really hope she makes the top three. She has earned it and she seems to be coming into her own. Even that horrid music didn't distract me. I actually went back on my tivo to view it again.
I also like Mel. Mel and Maks are adorable together and again, there is a great quality to their dance.
Great job and rebound for Helio and Julianne. Boy, those Houghs can choreograph. Mark B. should be taking notes.
Missed Drew. Samantha lacked that ability to lighten the mood.
The judging bothered me. At least Len admitted that he saw lifts, etc. in the pass and did not penalize in fairness. Apparently Carrie Ann missed that memo. How she nitpicked on everyone, but Sabrina's paso bugged.
Looking forward to Wade's dance.
Celebrity sighting-Ian Ziering. He looked impressed by Jennie.

How did Marie get dinged? She got 2 9's and an 8. That's what Jane and Mel got as well, and they both danced a lot better than she did.
This week's bottom two should tell us a lot about how the voting is going, since all the scores were so close. Sabrina ain't going anywhere, of course, since her scores were higher, but everybody else is clumped between, what? 23 and 27?
If Mark is getting a ton of votes, or Floyd's supporters were riled up after last week, we may see Mel and Jane or Marie in the B2.
Travesty, if you ask me. I blame Carrie Asshole Inaba.

I love Jane, but I do think she may be getting overpraised and overscored. While she does look beautiful and elegant,I could not help thinking what if she had done the paso this week or the jive last week? I cannot imagine her doing either. So why is she getting the dances she can do well in,or how are the dances picked each week?
No one else got the Tango last week and the Vienniese Waltz this week.
And I agree with the overscoring for Samantha. Why give out tens this early. After this there isn't anywhere left to aim for.

I concur with previous posts. I don't know what was with CarrieAnn tonight. Usually Len is trying so hard to be likeable, Bruno is too busy thinking of the next rhyming alliterative non sequitur and CarrieAnn is my rock of sensibility. Why CarrieAnn - was your weave too tight? Were your dance-panties in a twist? Did Samantha ruin your vibe too? Tell me. I'm here, I'll listen. Then we'll go find Drew and talk him into coming back to the show.

I do not understand the judges love for Floyd. Sure he comes out at 110%. He;s a boxer. If he doesn't come out into the ring at 110, he's going to be knocked out and everyone will have to go home. But judges, judges. He's awful. He has no posture. He has no extension. He has no personality.
I loved Mel tonight. Why haven't I noticed her before? I thought her and Maks' waltz was beautiful. She has lovely hand placement.

Exactly. This is why it was my favorite of the night, because he wasn't doing anything to detract from his partner. I watched the both of them together. Also great choreography to a sucky song. I really think I am a firm supporter in the Jennie/Derek camp after the past two weeks.
While I do think it's clear they want a Sabrina and Helio final two, I certainly don't think the show would be against Jennie being up there either. Because then of course they can play up the Hough rivalry. Then again, I don't necessarily want Julianne, Derek and Mark to be the last three pros standing. Because then we are going to go into obnoxious wunderkind territory, at least that is what the show will play up. Then I might have to throw up.
Also was bugged by the fact that Carrie patted Julianne on the back for her no lifts when she has been one of the biggest offenders in past weeks.

Derek/Jennie deserved the 30, if they were going to give out a perfect score.
Jonathan also impressed me more as a teacher. He really is the best pro teacher. I also think Kym is one of the better female teachers. Karina is a talented dancer, but not the best teacher. Too emotional and not good at focusing on basic foundational skills. I felt this was reflected when comparing Marie, Mark and Floyd. Boo Bruno for criticizing Marie for not being a character. Umm...she was dancing.
I agree to whoever said replacing Carrie Ann w/Louis. Louis has a following and could provide cogent observations and notes for improvement.
Again, Sabrina is just speed and aggression. I wanted to like her, but all three of her dances look the same to me. I mean, give her a thirty now, where can she go? I am going into grassy knoll territory, but wonder if the producers are finding she is not receiving as many votes as they intended. Thus the nice reminder that she is brilliant and excellent (as Len said). Or that they want to build her up, point out flaws and then note her improvement arc when she wins. Just thinking.
I admit, I was worried about adding another Hough, but grateful. I am loving Derek more than Julianne this year. Meh on Mark B. right now.

SERIOUSLY! What's that about? I thought Tony was going to smack her. She's so obvious with her favorites and it's ridiculous. It's like Maks said in one of the behind the scenes articles a couple of weeks ago (after Carrie Ann pointed out "mistakes" in their Quickstep)- "Carrie Ann needs to focus."

I love Marie's joke about her brothers' names. I always enjoy her comments.

Cheetogirl was not that great. I didn't see slow and deliberate movement. I saw overpowered passes and frentic footwork that seemed on the ragged edge of control. I didn't see perfection, I saw overacting and desperation. I also think that CarrieAnn has a thing for her. MASSIVELY overscored!
As much as I adore Helio, I do actually think he was overscored tonight. When in hold and leading, he looked fantastic. He had beautiful rise and fall and grace. When he was alone, he looked awkward and odd. I still believe him among the best of the men, and didn't even mind his practice meltdown. When someone's trying to teach you in a way that makes it difficult for you to learn, you get frustrated. I've been there. If you don't voice that the methods aren't working as well, then your teacher can't adjust to help suit your learning style.

I enjoyed the show, if not completely. As others have posted the music was so awful. Why can't they just have instrumental, if necessary, but appropriate music? The Bo Jangles and other pop elevator music just destroyed the mood of most of the dances.
I voted for Floyd and Jennie. I love seeing Ian in the audience. The other 90210's should come too! Upthread someone commented, among other flaws, that Floyd has no personality. I can't see it. I find him cute as a bug and so appealing. I wasn't totally wowed by the choreography, but I do feel it's his best dance. And when he said he HAD to get better scores, he followed up by saying he didn't want to let Karina down. I didn't take it to mean the judges better or else, as the poster did.
I think a lot of fans are rooting for Floyd / or Mark. Very few seem to like them both. I am on the Floyd bandwagon hoping Mark will go home. It will be interesting to see.
I was disappointed Cameron got such high marks. His dance seemed over the top, and not in a good way.
Jane looked lovely, but I think she was over scored both this and last week.
My oldest son calls Sabrina "chubby." So now I call her chubby Cheetah. I was going on about how 10's were ridiculous so soon for her and how she bugs me. I was informed I need to get over the Sabrina hate. It won't be easy.
I like Helio and Julianne. Maybe because I feel he has a slight chance to overtake chubby Cheetah and win. I just can't get anywhere on overcoming my hate issues. heh.
Several fugly outfits, pro and celebrity.

I knew Carrie Ann would start with her nitpicking over lifts this week so I was not surprised. I was actually more surprised that Len was in such a giving mood.
I loved Tom's quip on Samantha about phone booths being almost non existent anymore. Samantha is completely cheesy and outdated, she can go enjoy "mommy hood" for the rest of the season...better yet the kids entire first year!
Sabrina/Mark- I liked it a bit, wouldn't call it her best dance and I didn't think it was worth a perfect 30. It seemed like they lost the pacing during the ending sequence of the dance and got off 4 or 5 beats. Scores over inflated.
Jennie/Derek- Thought they started out great right up until the very end where she seemed to loose some confidence and got shaky in her movements. Over scored just a bit.
Marie/Jonathan- The most over scored dance of the entire series for me right now. Two nines? I swear all I saw was awkward posturing, some weird hair whipping, more posturing, a twirl, even more awkward posturing, a sweep across the floor and of course.... more damn posturing. Scores grossly over inflated for not much dancing at all.
Jane/Tony- Jane is one of my favorites but her dances are looking awfully alike to me and the judges are running out of different ways to call her elegant and graceful each week. Time to do something different. Over scored, and getting stagnant.
Mark/Kim- They were getting their scores when I started watching so no idea what they did, but I'm guessing Mark started singing at some point. Scores ok?
Mel/Maks- Another favorite of mine sorry to say they are starting to plateau and I really would like Maks to challenge Mel with harder choreography I feel she has outgrown most of his choreography choices. Once again, scores good, but getting stagnant and is not standing out like she should.
Cameron/Edyta- Not bad, but all I really saw was Cameron walking and throwing his arms around while being an anchor for Edyta and tossing her around a few times. He basically was a shadow behind her and I watched her the entire time. Scores moderately overinflated for hardly any real dancing and Edyta doing 90% of the work.
Helio/Julianne- See above. He did a bit better than Cameron by having a few more steps that didn't involve being an anchor for Julianne, but still I only focused on her during the dance. It looked like the entire dance was meant to showcase Julianne and Helio's only purpose was for her to lean on and plaster on a smile. The poor guy also had to land on his knees and ankles for the second week in a row. I also wish Julianne would listen to Helio a bit more. I understood his request to focus on substance in the beginning stages and leave the flourishes for later. I'm afraid she's going to let his confidence start slipping. Scores moderately overinflated for the pro doing 90% of the work.
Floyd/Karina- Light on his feet is an understatement. I howled when he ran and leaped ten feet in the air and landed like a cat. I thought his posture was much better. I appreciate that they had more technical steps rather than standing around tossing Karina across the floor left and right. I was glad to see him wearing the right shoes during rehearsal, and when he stood upright with his his chest out he, dare I say it, looked like a dancer. Scores good, nice decent improvement.

<haven't seen the show yet, ticking down 20 mins>
But there is this little evil side of me that imagines Louie helping out with the music selection, with an evil grin and a manical laughter, thinking.... "Ghostbuster theme revenge time.... trying dancing to this!!! Muhaha!!" while innocently saying, "Why yes, producers. You can do a Paso to the Superman song."

Jennie Garth is really impressing me. I had her slotted as one of the "DWTS as Video Diary" type women contestants who track their emotional warps and woofs as they participate. These women are usually competitive - Lisa Rinna - but the competitive drive seemed to come from a need to prove something. Like their baseline was some H'wood self-actualization mind set and DWTs was the road test for it.
Jenny's early weepiness in retrospect now seems to come from a perfectionist who cries when she's mad or disappointed in herself. She didn't start out as impressively as him but she is reminding me of Drew Lachey. She is focused on all the right things. Not herself and her feelings, but, basically, listening to Derek, really respecting the discipline she's trying to learn and bringing herself to it as much as she can instead of trying to drag it down to her own comfort level that she can "relate" to. So many celebrities whether it's a gimmick or not end up striving to relate. Jenny seems more sensible than that. She's trying to learn something new. She's trying to understand it and execute it according to what the person who is teaching her tells her is right. She puts in the time. And then when she's on the dance floor she commits. One more attribute is her technical development. More than having some kind of general "breakthrough" I really like when a contestant can improve their technique and incorporate it comfortably into their performance. Jennie's arms and posture were much stronger this week.
Derek is the choreographic talent of the siblings. To my taste at least. He may do tricks with his sister and in pro routines but I don't see the flash and trash or too cluttered in his choreography for Jennie, and that was some awful song.
I liked Jennie's paso better than Sabrina's, and I liked Sabrina's paso. There was more true expression in Jennie's, for my money.
I truly missed Drew. He's such a feel good presence. He always approaches the couples as if they are contestants, and talks strategy with them, scoring high or low. Really takes the stench of mortification or disappointment off low scores. Truly, he's like, that happened, shake it off, here's what you're working with, what do you do now? Such a lift.
I liked that Marie had the sense to play the waltz straight. She needed to do that.
Helio isn't as good as they want him to be or want us to think he is.

Okay......
High notes for me:
Jenny - One of my favorite dances of the night, despite the music. Not sure how you could get in the Paso mood with that selection, but I thought they did the absolute best they could with what they had to work with. Fast, controlled and lots of attitude.
Jane - Beautiful, beautiful waltz. I thought they got screwed with the dock for the lift. I'm sorry, but as someone pointed out, others have done lifts, and they weren't docked for it. Not fair, and you could tell that Jane and Tony were not happy with the injustice. If you're gonna dock for lifts, dock for ALL of the lifts - no one should be exempt.
Sabrina - Another fast dance. I give her credit for bringing some drama to the floor, but they just keep getting those frantic music selections that play to her strength. Yes, it should be interesting to see what they get for her waltz.....
Also credit to:
Helio - Not his best dance, but very respectable. Loved Julianne's choreography, although with all of her spins and turns I had a hard time concentrating on Helio.
Marie - Loved her music, one of my favorite Elvis songs. Definitely a much slower pace than the other waltzes. I was glad that they played it straight and romantic - I agree with Carrie Ann (?!) that it was nice to see something different from her. Again, not the best - for some reason it seemed like much less dancing than the other waltzes - but very respectable.
And the rest:
Mel - I love this woman......her personality and her dancing. However, this was probably my least favorite dance of hers. I usually love Maks' waltz and I expected this one to be just as good. I know the Viennese Waltz is rather quick, but this one seemed on fast speed, and I kept feeling like Mel was doing all she could just to keep up. I hope she can hang in there with the fan vote this week.
Cameron - I agree that this was his best dance, but I thought he was overscored. And, I wasn't crazy about the Superman theme....again.
Mark - It was respectable, but I'm not sure it was good enough to keep him another week.
Floyd - Way, way overscored IMO. I think back to Drew's Paso, which was SO much better, and not for a minute would they have let him get away with the posture that Floyd had. I'd probably just as soon see him leave before Mark.
I keep feeling I've forgotten someone.....

I thought Marie's dance was just lovely - I enjoyed hers and Jane's the most of the waltzes.
Sabrina was way overscored. She's just too hamfisted in her movements, like she's trying to shove them down my throat. I do not enjoy watching her at all.

I am so on board with the get rid of Samantha and Carrie Ann in favor of Drew and Louis. (And I don't even like Louis!)
What the hell is Carrie Ann's problem? If you're a hot, male, soap star you're allowed to have lifts but if you're Jane Seymour you lose a point when your heel lifts a centimeter off the ground for a second. Could she be any more obvious?????
Can I say real quick here that I LOVE Bruno. His laugh cracks me up along with the shouting in Len's ear and bizarre rhyming words, I'm always waiting to see what he'll come up with next. Better than Carrie Ann whining about the rules.

Maybe it was idiot Carrie Ann and all the lift-nitpicking, when she has ignore freaking flips and nuclear-powered lifts for three weeks now, so suddenly a spin where their feet are arguably still on the floor gets dinged,
LOL thank you for making me laugh when I'm so frustrated tonight! Does anyone think maybe Carrie Anne was embarrassed by her tears last week at Jane's performance and was out to prove something tonight? If she really thought that was a lift, then why give a pass to Cameron for the same thing- she admits it was a lift but says that's OK???? And if Jane and Tony complain, what? they are being disrespectful? If you are going to penalize for a move, penalize then for everyone! She was looking for things in the women tonight it seemed and trying for reasons to overscore the guys. Were they afraid the guys were leaving too quickly? No way were some of the men as good as some of the women tonight! That Superman shtick was entertaining but not nearly as intricate and difficult as Jane's dance or Jennie's.
Ok I"m back to being mad I guess!

It was fun to see Ashly Delgrosso in the audience. I really enjoy her and hope she comes back.
She was noticeable behind Tom for the rest of the show, and I kept thinking she looked really familiar--a celebrity of some sort, but I couldn't place her. Anyone catch this?
It was Ashly.

OK, Lift Gate 2008 was WAY over the top. Seriously. Jane got hosed and then almost every other couple had a "lift" in it. If the rule is "they have to be able to do it themselves", we have some serious infractions every week.
Sabrina's performance was far from a 10. How she can clomp around the floor and it looked like her worst performance to me, and get 10's, proves to me that they are pushing her to be the forefront female winner. When she was finished, I thought, well, the judges are going to lay into her, and they did, with a tongue bath. Ammmmmmaaaaazing what they overlook when they favor people.
Marie's scores were too high.....for just floating around and shaking her extensions. Another judge favorite. Although, I give props to Jonathon for spinning her heavy self so effortlessly on the floor.
Floyd.....needs to go home just from that tantrum footage. If you aren't as good as your other competitors, no matter how hard you try, you don't deserve a better score. And don't forget, Floyd, you have to appeal to the millions of OTHER judges out there too. And throwing a fit is not the way to make people like you. Going to a school still doesn't make me like you. It makes me wish you would go back to school and learn how to act right with some grace.
Kudos to Jenny and Helio and Cameron. They actually earned their scores.

Guess I'm on the grassy knoll, but it seemed as though that whole Carrie-Ann-as-bad-cop-of-the-week nonsense was totally scripted.
The housemate expected someone to have to do the Paso to "Santa Claus is Coming to Town."

I'm just watching the show, but had to run in and say that Mark and Sabrina just did the Paso Doble to Dead or Alive's You Spin Me!! Holy crap. Weird song for that dance.
