From TVGuide.com:

Nick deals with a blackmailer who claims to have a sex tape featuring one of the Darlings. Meanwhile, Patrick breaks up with Carmelita, and Jeremy tries to keep Juliet from finding out about his affair with her nemesis. Natalie: Tamara Feldman.
lockiecharms
Peter Krause, your hair was looking good in an otherwise meh episode. I can't believe that Juliet could me so media savvy at one press appearance and then get into a catfight where her skirt flies up. When was the last time even LiLo did that?
jdolanie
I still can't stand Juliet. Jeremy is such a twist mind, for his sister, yet against.
TiffanyNichelle
Aw Patrick really does love Carmelita. They were so sweet together at the end. As was the twins chilling on the rooftop. Until Juliet found out about the jewlry of course. "Twin-tuition" hee.

How much do I love that Juliet is a virgin, if she really was telling the truth.

Everyone keeps talking about Dutch as if he was some kind of saint and yet he still screwed his best friend's wife for forty years.

They can keep building up Simon Elder as much as they want but as long as he's played by Blair Underwood I won't be happy.
luvalicious
I was bored. The only good parts were Karen ("you lied for me? how sweet.") and Tripp at the very end.

ETA:
but as long as he's played by Blair Underwood I won't be happy.

I'll be sitting at your table.
TVGuy88
Another awesome episode. I only wish we could have seen the sex tape. Loved the catfight!
Eegah
Can we get the Italian banker in every episode? "Enough, okay?" Hee!
Magsi2
I was a little disappointed with tonight's show. It didn't have as much "punch" as the other ones. I did like Patrick & Nick in the police car. It was nice. I don't understand why the $3 mil to buy the sex tape when it was already a done deal. Something is off with Tripp and probably with Simon Elder too. I'm hoping the previews are leading us to a funnier show next week. Brian was really making me mad with his whole "lecture" to Gustav. Just grow up already!
callie lee 29
Pretty good for a filler episode, which it seemed like to me. Still like Father Darling (just completely spaced on his name!!) and his "lecturing" the "lying" little dutch boy. Ha!!

I don't understand the point of Karen, but is only the first few episodes so I guess I''ll give her a break.

I like Juliet and I finally figured out who she reminds me of...looks wise it's a young Cameron Diaz but in her speaking and persona it's Brittany Murphy a'la Clueless and Uptown Girls. And I think she told Nick the truth. "It's easier." Probably pretty damn true, unfortunately.

Peter Krause looks like he's put on weight, especially in his face. Still pretty cute.
Mezzoforte
There were parts of it I adored. I loved everything Brian. After Juliet's (surprisingly adorable) confession, the sudden flash to Brian's "How do you live with yourself?" had me laughing my head off. And he was brilliant with little Gustav.

I would have liked, though, to see more Letitia. I enjoy most parts of the show, but the tiny bits of the Tish-Tripp-Dutch triangle are what have me hooked.
psyche679
"Next lying president of the lying states of America" Hah!

I too hope Juliet is really a virgin.
Sarmoti
Jeremy amuses me so much, particularly his continued interest in space travel, a la Lance Bass.

the "lying" little dutch boy

Hey now, he's fake Swedish, not fake Dutch. :)

the sudden flash to Brian's "How do you live with yourself?" had me laughing my head off.

I'd even seen that part in the previews and I still burst out laughing when it actually happened.
Magsi2
hey now, he's fake Swedish, not fake Dutch. :)

Well, technically, he could be authentic "Dutch" if Brian was Dutch's son as has been speculated. (sorry couldn't resist.....LOL)
rosettaresearch
Nick needs to tell Karen to just shut up. Apparently his wife tells her off next week. But there does not need to explanations or telling off, she just needs to be told to shut up.
blixie2
Huh, I thought that episode was fantastic, better than the pilot even.

I loved Karen's "Babe, I love you..." mixtape reminiscing, Freddy giving her a Mulligan, Jeremy "googling" Natalie's ass, and Juliet being a virgin. Hee.

What I love about the show is the way it can be light and irreverent for the most part and then spring these really great, well written, expertly acted emotionally affecting scenes on you. Like Patrick and Nick in the car, playing the grass is always greener game and each surprised to find they had equally bad relationships with their father. I just loved that pull yourself together/let yourself go conversation and they way it came back to Patrick reuniting with Carmelita, aww.

I also misted up when Nick forced Tripp to admit he's trying to save face and keep his heart from breaking when it comes to the affair.

Jeremy continues to be my favorite Darling, he is just the sweetest brother ever, and not a half bad boyfriend.
JakeyIsSusan
I'm a twin, so I really liked the stuff with Juliet and Jeremy, and poor Juliet still believing in her "twin tuition" (FWIW, my brother and I had it untili we were about ... five).

This show has really surprised me. I thought Tish and Tripp would be rich, 'money-is-everything' assholes and last week proved THAT wrong; and I thought that the stuff with the tranny hooker was gonna be either a) pushing the envelope for the sake of pushing it or b) played for laughs. Instead, both the show and the actress (who I know is an MTF transsexual, and who my friends keep telling me to go see in NYC) play Caramelita as a person first, with her gender identity an afterthought.

I loved Karen's "Babe, I love you..." mixtape reminiscing,

Me, too. That whole sequence was hilarious, but I especially think it's funny how Karen is so COMPLETELY self-absorbed. You would think the oldest daughter would be the least self-aware, but she's still very much a Daddy's girl.
Impresario
I am trying to love this show. Really, I am. It's just that thus far, it has had the depth of a bowl of cereal. DSM does light and irreverent like no other show on network TV. But it's feeble attempts at drama are what's leaving me cold. There is a plastic quality to this show that is preventing me from caring about the characters. Having said that, there were a few highlights this week: Brian reprimanding the street urchin, Jeremy juggling his sister and the other heir head, and Billy Baldwin didn't embarass himself tonight either (I love his trannie girlfriend!). What I could care less about : Who killed dear old Dutch? The love triangle with Karen and the wife. Juliet's entire storyline.
AzulVerde
Not as good as the others but still pretty amusing. The scene where Nick was asking about the sex tapes was a classic, although they cut the scene where he's talking with the family publicist before that.

I don't know how they did it but I'm in love with every single member of that screw up family.

I would have liked, though, to see more Letitia. I enjoy most parts of the show, but the tiny bits of the Tish-Tripp-Dutch triangle are what have me hooked.

Same here, when Tripp was talking about how they were best friends since college I felt so sorry for the guy even if he's hiding something but between trusting Blair Underwood or Donald Sutherland, DS all the way;)
memememe76
"Peace out, bring the Boys home!" Great delivery, there.

I liked the first half better than the second. The final scene with Tripp and Nick was pretty much an exact replica of last week's scene. And the Priest's son storyline did not go forward whatsoever.
ImNotLeesa
Still liking it, though it felt as though things didn’t move forward enough in this episode.

Once again, the scene with Tripp and Nick toward the end was the most powerful scene for me. They seem to be forging a new relationship…testing out the edges and boundaries, pushing each other, and slowly coming to an understanding. Tripp’s confession proved out what we were speculating about last week. Did he or didn’t he know? Turned out he didn’t, but was faking it. (Or maybe he did know last week, but was lying this week, hmmm?) Kudos to DS for the complexity of his portrayal, and to PK for matching him, in these scenes.

I liked Jeremy and Juliet (though I sometimes find them hard to understand…not the characters, but their actual speech): Twin-tuition, and their scene on the rooftop. Not liking Jeremy and Natalie though…way too much time was spent on them this week. Time that could have been better spent with Brian, or Daisy, or Tish, or even Karen, IMO.

Juliet’s polite “Kathryn, can I please be done unpacking?” was the sweetest, most priviledged way to clear a room I’ve ever heard.

I really enjoyed the scenes/editing of Nick quizzing the Darlings, and their intercut reactions. Brian’s was classic, Juliet’s was touching (as was Nick’s response), but it was Karen’s last line that made me laugh: “Nick, if I go in and ask him for money to pay off a blackmailer for a sex tape, he’s just going to go and tell Daddy” …[wait for it]…”like he did last time.”

One thing that intrigued me, how did Simon Elder know about the tape? Is someone in the Darling household working for him? Rebecca Kolfacs, Family Publicist, maybe?

There were a few things that bugged, though, and pulled me out of the story:
-One is how the idea of “let yourself go” is being presented. It’s all well and good that Patrick may go against his family’s wishes to continue a relationship that’s ‘true love’, but I can’t get past the fact that he has an apparently nice, supportive wife…what’s his relationship with her? Why doesn’t he finish that before chasing this new dream?
-Another was the idea of Nick traipsing around Manhattan with $1M in a duffel bag. How is it that he wasn’t mugged?
-Also, Brian’s line “We pay the rent in this house with honesty. Don’t make me raise the rent.” While it was funny, I kept thinking ‘what does that even mean?’
kariyaki
Rebecca Kolfacs, Family Publicist, maybe?

Is it just me or does anybody else, like, LOVE her? Rebecca Kolfacs, Family Publicist cracked me up in every scene she was in. "Moolah-- that means money."

Also, Brian’s line “We pay the rent in this house with honesty. Don’t make me raise the rent.” While it was funny, I kept thinking ‘what does that even mean?’

I spent so long trying to figure that out, I had to rewind my dvr.

I liked the episode. If Juliet wasn't so endearing, I would probably hate her. Donald Sutherland continues to rock my socks.
Denebola
Was I the only one who wasn't all that surprised that Juliet was a virgin? I know she's in part inspired by Paris Hilton, but there was just something about her that seemed not quite as seedy. Like, where are the boys? When she admitted that, instead of gasping, I went "Ah-ha!" She's gone from slightly annoying to exasperatingly endearing to me.

Karen cracked me up in every scene. I think it's her facial expressions, and just little body language quirks that make her hilarious.

The plot stalled a little bit, but I didn't mind because it let us get to know the characters a little better. Patrick's wife and Simon Elder seem like intriguing characters, but I'm in it for the fun, not the mystery.

Is it just me or does anybody else, like, LOVE her?

She and Nick need to start a routine like Stewie and Olivia did on Family Guy. They've got the love/hate funny going on like gangbusters. (Hee, gangbusters.)

I've developed a crush on Jeremy. Partly because of how sweet he is, and partly because of how woobified he became as Adrian on Nip/Tuck. It's nice to see that boy happy, for once.

ETA: I dare someone to Google "Italian Banker" for me, because I have no idea what that is, or if it even exists. Or if I even want to know. I once Googled "Boxing Helena" for the Smallville forum, and regret it to this day.
persiaa
I wonder if it's the same as an Italian chandelier? Urban Dictionary defines the chandelier as

The woman pushes her back and butt completly off the ground using her arm and legs, kind of like crab-walking or like when you do the bridge in gymnastics. The guy does the same thing, but facing down when they make love
.

burn off the pasta!

I honestly don't know what you people are talking about. I thought this episode was GREAT! Best yet? The sex tape montage was great and Father Brian made me laugh out loud. Again.

The scene with patrick and nick in the limo was flawless. Beautifully acted by Baldwin and Krause.

And I personally cannot WAIT for the arrival of Blair Underwood (soon, I hope!!). He's a really good actor, and hello, HOT. Going to add a great new element to the show.

I completely agree with both of these points, ImNotLeesa. Jeremy and Juliet kept me laughing every time they were on screen. "Falling down Elton John's well?" Priceless.

Brian’s line “We pay the rent in this house with honesty. Don’t make me raise the rent.” While it was funny, I kept thinking ‘what does that even mean?’

I think that's the point. Brian is clueless in his dealings with Gustave. I believe he said that because he thought it sounded meaningful, but in reality, it was just ridiculous.

A couple of other things that kept me giggling:
  • Tripp making "Condi" hold.
  • Patrick's Yankee underwear.
  • A Buddy Ebsen sex tape?

And is the "Italian Banker" this decade's "Venus Butterfly"?

I think Brian was referring to His Father's House. He lives in the Manse or whatever is attached to the Church of whatever. He pays rent to God. If little Gustav is less than honest Father Brian has to pay God more. It's all there under "hypocrisy" and "irony". Heh. Daddy?!

I'm looking forward to more scenes with Brian and his wife, or better, with his wife and children.
IseutLaBrune
I loved this episode...better than last week's, I think! Great moments of comedy, and so far, the tender moments in this show are such a pleasant surprise! The twins' storyline and the reuniting of Patrick and Carmelita were sweet and endearing.
Hairymango
I was bored.
Unfortunately, it was a rehash of the last episode. Patrick can't decide what to do about the tranny, Jeremy is ambivalent about sleeping with his sister's nemesis. Nick can't be sure if Tripp knew about the affair or not. The minister doesn't want to acknowledge his own kid. All of these were dithered over last week. The few new things were nice, like the publicist, and the banker, but the plot didn't advance at all and so the episode sort of dragged.
kariyaki
Was I the only one who wasn't all that surprised that Juliet was a virgin?

No, I wasn't surprised. I was more like, "Huh, this explains a lot, actually."
Cop Shoot Cop
I like this show a great deal for reasons I did not expect. Coming in, I thought it would be best if it were straight satire, and that the satire would probably be of the kind that let the money and the expectations that come with money do all of the work. Yet, the satire has been nicely counterpointed by the establishment of recognizable, compelling relationships among several of the characters. In a way this robs the satire of some of its punch, but it makes it sharper as well. The additional benefit of establishing characters and relationships is that it keeps the show from being one-note, repeated until any possibility of identifying with any of the characters is gone. I like most of these characters, which I did not expect coming in, and am consequently more entertained when they demonstrate qualities that deserve to be satired.

Am liking Juliet and Karen the most out of all of these characters, and they make an interesting contrast in terms of their relationships with men -- Juliet as (possible) virgin, with only one man seeming to hold her heart, and Karen, who apparently loves everyone, with only one man seeming to hold her heart.

Really liked the Elton John's well bit, and the sex tape inquiry was probably the most informative, as well as entertaining, part of the show for me.
blixie2
I dare someone to Google "Italian Banker" for me, because I have no idea what that is, or if it even exists.

I may or may not a have already done this, and luckily it's not anything like a Lemon Party, that 30 Rock introduced me to.

I honestly don't know what you people are talking about. I thought this episode was GREAT!

Seriously, I don't get the arguments that it was a rehash of last week, since I thought last week was the weakest of all the episodes, and that this one actually moved things forward in a way last week did not. The only plot that did not go anywhere was Brian's.

Patrick can't decide what to do about the tranny, Jeremy is ambivalent about sleeping with his sister's nemesis. Nick can't be sure if Tripp knew about the affair or not. The minister doesn't want to acknowledge his own kid.

But Patrick *did* decide what he wants to do, stay in a relationship with Carmelita, and right now I can't feel too bad for his wife as it seems her main interest in her husband is marching him towards the Senate ("he has no choice") and the reflected glory and power that gives her. Like Bill and Hill, I get that it's primarily a power partnership and thats about it. And I think Jeremy moved from ambivalent to fully committed to both maintaining his closeness with Juliet and maintaining his closeness with Natalie. Which hee reminds me how much I loved the catfight and commentary. So the perfume was supposed to be Darling Natalie and instead was released as Daring Natalie, but the bangs was the real low blow. Hee.

And I actually like that the more Nick knows about Tripp and the Darlings and how Dutch factored into their lives, the less certain he is that any of them killed him, that Dutch is so deified in their eyes (save Brian obviously), and so poisoned in Nick's.
Bulldog
After each of the children denied involvement with the sex tape, was I the only one thinking it might be Letitia and Dutch?

I really like how the Darlings are being portrayed. While they may be a little selfish and spoiled, none of them (with the possible exception of Brian) seem to be really bad people. Of course, that could change given the courier's warning about Tripp.

I liked how Kiki thought Patrick would make a good Senator.
amy
I agree that this episode dragged a bit, nothing new really. And one little nitpick that bugs, Brian is a minister of some sort, not a priest. A priest wouldn't be married.....no wife, no kids. At least not a Catholic priest. So unless I'm mistaken on my religious terminology, it isn't "Father" Brian. I'm loving the twins, and the publicist brings some needed comedy.
Mrs Snark
I liked it. It wasn't as bust out funny as some of the other episodes, but I still gave me what I tune in for.

- Brian is currently the LOVE OF MY LIFE. The Spongebob bit. The "is your name Gustav? You're name is Gustav." The sex tape response.

Yea, I would love to know exactly what an Italian Banker is....and a reverse Italian Banker.

Was the building directly after the Trip/Nick meeting suppose to be their location?

-re: sex tape purchase. I think Simon was trying to send a message to Nick to back off. Proving his influence and insider-information.

Although the plot didn't move forward much, I think it provided important content to some of the other characters who weren't fleshed out yet.

I actually like Juliet now. She seems completely enduring and sweet. I believe she is a virgin, but not doing anything?!?! Not buying that.

Cop Shoot Cop
mentioned Karen's heart belonging to one man, which is a good indicator why she is the Elizabeth Taylor of the Darling family.

And Patrick's relationship with Carmilita moved from a conceit to a interesting loving relationship.
weeble
Brian is a minister of some sort, not a priest. A priest wouldn't be married.....no wife, no kids. At least not a Catholic priest. So unless I'm mistaken on my religious terminology, it isn't "Father" Brian.

This was bugging me too - but after a little digging, I think that Brian might be an Episcopalian - the U.S. branch of the Anglican church, which is loosely overseen by the Church of England and the Archbishop of Canterbury. Because that branch of the church traces back to the split between England's Henry VIII and the Vatican, they keep a lot of Catholic traditions, including calling their priests "Father."

On other notes, I am loving this show and which Darling is my favorite changes about every 5 minutes depending on which scene was just shown.

Does anyone else want to know what other songs were on that mixed tape that Nick made Karen at the tender age of 12?
Wasatch Gal
Count me in as one who keeps loving this show more and more.

I find myself loving all the charachters and think they are interesting. Nick is my favorite because of my love for Peter Krause. A close tie for second are Karen and Tripp. I don't hate Nick's wife but I just don't know enough about her to care one way or another.

Cop Shoot Cop mentioned Karen's heart belonging to one man, which is a good indicator why she is the Elizabeth Taylor of the Darling family.

I find Nick and Karen oddly endearing. I think she genuinely loves him and is trying to get on with her life because he is unavailable because of his marriage. I don't know that he returns her feelings but he does have a soft spot for her because he caves whenever she asks him to do something for her.

Tripp is cool and I hope it turns out he didn't have a hand in killing Dutch. I think Dutch will turn out to be alive and he faked the plane crash. Not enough Tish this episode. Jeremy is the coolest and funniest. I enjoy every scene he is in. I haven't really cared about Juliet but that changed this episode and I found myself liking her a lot. My heart breaks for "Gustav". The poor kid is going to need a lot of therapy when he grows up--his Mom abandoning him and his father reluctant to accept him and trying to keep his true identity hidden from this wife and daughters. I thought Patrick would be a hard-bitten politician but I like him too.

The show is just a lot of fun and I like all of the members of the Darling family.
TiffanyNichelle
Nick needs to tell Karen to just shut up. Apparently his wife tells her off next week. But there does not need to explanations or telling off, she just needs to be told to shut up.

I cannot wait for that next week. All the other Darlings are at least entertaining. Karen's just nutty.

Juliet’s polite “Kathryn, can I please be done unpacking?” was the sweetest, most priviledged way to clear a room I’ve ever heard.

I know! That cracked me up because it was so nicely said that it didn't even hit me until afterwards that Juliet was sitting on her ass doing nothing while the maid was doing all the unpacking.
BlkLab99
I was disappointed that Nick's cell phone ringtones aren't personalized anymore (the "Family Publicist's" ringer should have been Elton John's "Bitch is Back")! Bummer.
kricka
-Another was the idea of Nick traipsing around Manhattan with $1M in a duffel bag. How is it that he wasn’t mugged?

How is it that a mugger would know there was $1M in the duffel? Men and women carry around big bags of everything all the time here in NYC, the only way a mugger would know there was a cool mill in there was to have x-ray vision... and I loved the continuity of him not having the time to bring the money back to the bank yet, so he had to carry it around with him while putting out fires, as usual.

This show makes me very very happy. Not only do I get my weekly Krause fix again, but every single character is interesting and fun. I am thoroughly enjoying it's loopiness and heart, a combo that is really really hard to pull off, IMO.

I am 50/50 on Blair Underwood, so I am looking forward to seeing what thes show/he does with the character.
meknownothing
I also misted up when Nick forced Tripp to admit he's trying to save face and keep his heart from breaking when it comes to the affair.
Donald Sutherland's lock on an Emmy next year gets tighter and tighter.

Elton John's well? Is Juliet confusing her life with a Simpsons episode?

There's a hole in my heart as deep as a well for that poor little boy, who's stuck halfway to Hell...
Though we can't get him out, we'll do the next best thing...
We go on TV and sing, sing, sing!
And we're sending our love down the well...
All the way down!
We're sending our love down the well...
Down that well!

To me, Rebecca is one shifty-eyed dog of this show (BTW, she clarified what was on the sex tape: it was a reverse Italian banker), and I'm thinking Freddy's another -- did anyone else think he was in on the whole Karen/caddy deal? His forgiving of Karen seems a bit out of character for him.
mellybean
I like this show, a lot perhaps. And I enjoyed this episode. I loved Nick's scene with the girlfriend of the guy who was "selling" the sex tape and her line about hoping that the incident wouldn't interfere with future business. hehe. And Nick's grumbling as he walks off. ha.

I also think the bit at the end where Nick gets the tape and the guy who delivers it says something about his boss not being who Nick thinks he is and neither is Nick's boss could really open the door to some good story lines and a lot of depth.

When Nick first started thinking his dad's death wasn't an accident it seemed serious and an important part of the show. I know it came up this episode with Nick taking the information to the police station and talking to Tripp about it but I couldn't help but feel like it wasn't quite as important. I kind of hope that comes back into focus a bit.

after a little digging, I think that Brian might be an Episcopalian

Brian's character bio on the ABC website describes him as "A reverend with the Episcopal church".
peaceb2u
Also, Brian’s line “We pay the rent in this house with honesty. Don’t make me raise the rent.” While it was funny, I kept thinking ‘what does that even mean?’

I spent so long trying to figure that out, I had to rewind my dvr.

I thought this bit was hilarious. One of those patent lies and non-sequitur threats that get thrown at kids when adults do not want to deal or do not know how to do anything other than spout platitudes. In short, a parody of the core truthiness curriculum of childhood.
Detsl
Really enjoyed this episode as well.

Loved Jeremy carrying on with the space tourism thing. He was cute with the Russian. And I thought the scene with Juliet was the end was really sweet. Even though he was lying to her.

And Juliet. I am surprised. Not that they really gave much indication that she was some really wild girl but I guess I just assumed. How old are the twins? 20? 21? around there? Glad she moved back home.

My favorite bit of the episode was the "did you make a sex tape montage?" because Karen....just hilarious and totally wasn't expecting Brian since they had done people twice already.

Loved the Sask mention. Oh Donald Sutherland. I'd like to think that they had like Montana in the script and he was like "No. Saskatchewan."

Think that Tripp may have been hushing the police department. No idea why but I got that feeling.

The Italian banker was hilarious. And loved the music playing when they opened the vault.

Also loved Brian's little speech to "Gustav." Especially his little bit about going to the Swedish market for his "precious caviar" "what's caviar?"

Can't wait until the next episode. I just find myself smiling when these characters are on my screen. I am the Darling family's bitch. After Nick of course.
Shamrock317
I also think the bit at the end where Nick gets the tape and the guy who delivers it says something about his boss not being who Nick thinks he is and neither is Nick's boss could really open the door to some good story lines and a lot of depth.

I said something to Mr. Sham that ties into this at the beginning of the episode when Tripp's Rolls drops by and picks up Nick -- just Tripp's interest in pursuing Elder seemed a bit too ... not quite sure how to say it. Just that I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out Tripp has his own motives (unrelated to Dutch's possible murder) for somehow taking Elder out of the picture. What those motives might be I don't know. But I'm sure it will be interesting.

And to those confused about the whole Brian/married priest thing. As the daughter of an episcopal priest, they are indeed called "Father." Even when they're women, as my mom was called "Father Joan."
Eliz87
I love the casting and characters on this show. The twins couldn't be more perfectly casted IMO. I love their interactions with each other. Twintuition indeed. Karen is just...Karen. She makes me want to laugh and cry at the same time. Brian? Amazing. And, curiously enough, I've never cared much for Donald Sutherland, but I love him in this role.

I'm in this one for the long haul. Hopefully it won't get pulled -- new shows that I like always get pulled.
steph44
Did anyone notice that Nick's daughter was played by a different actress? I'm pretty sure of it. The girl in prior seasons had a guest star on Law & Order: SVU and the girl in last night's episode was not the same girl.

I think that guy bought the tape for 3M thinking it might have been Patrick maybe. So that he could have it for the future.
bananagirl
I laughed my arse off at the ''moose-hunting accident in Saskatchewan''.

For those in the know - Donald Sutherland married Shirley Douglas who was the daughter of the premier of Saskatchewan (so Keifer is the grandson of a premier). Tommy Douglas was voted ""Greatest Canadian of all time"" in 2004 for his role in bringing in Medicare/socialist medicine in Canada. Such a cool insider reference on the show.

I love, love, love this show. It makes me laugh out loud and yet blends in poignant moments throughout.

I am praying it does not get on the chopping block anytime soon (although the lack of posting in here makes me wonder if it's that popular vs. say 'House' or other perennial favs).
BlueIrony
Did anyone notice that Nick's daughter was played by a different actress?

I can't say I noticed that, but I did notice that they've written Kiki as a bit dim. I'm not sure how old she's supposed to be, but her comments seemed rather...young. One would expect a four-year-old to complain that carrot sticks "taste like toenails," but not so much a girl her age.

I hope this changes, as her character gives the writers such a wonderful opportunity to offer another perspective on Nick's situation. Everybody else, even Jeremy, gets sparky, clever dialogue. With any luck, poor Kiki will get to be more than just a set decoration.
Hairymango
(the "Family Publicist's" ringer should have been Elton John's "Bitch is Back")!
I don't think she's bitchy enough to warrant that song. I'd go with Stevie Wonder's "Uptight".
