Was peter channeling Sylar's emotional state when he was TKing Keating?
I cringed when Sylar screamed.

I'd like to thank whoever was responsible for Peter practicing his powers while being shirtless.
But the show really needs to stay away from the cheesy flight sequences.
Welcome back, Sylar! Kinda.

A standard filler ep--until the last 60 seconds. So, if I've got this right, that was a painting of Claire kissing West (or someone) with HRG's body in the foreground?
And was it just me, or were the greenscreen sequences really poorly done tonight?

During the Previouslies, all I could wonder is if Adrian sounded "intense" or not.
I should have known ahead of time that Peter wouldn't open the box. With all the promotional drama leading to it, there's no way it would have been opened so soon.

I do not like the Ireland story.AT ALL! I want the Petrelli's back together! I'm also not a fan of the Japan or Guatemala/Mexico story.
I hope the New Orleans is interesting. Nichelle Nichols is as lovely as ever. BRING BACK KAITO!
Glad to see Isaacs great loft is still going to be in use. And at least Isaacs great power is still in play with the 7 missing pictures.
More Noah. Less West.
Sylar is on the LOST island.
HOYAY! Gotta rewatch the Mohinder/Matt scene again.
Open the frakkin box, Peter!
Meh for the episode, but next week looks better.

I had my laptop with while I was watching the show tonight, because sometimes I want to scream something and I figured I'd frantically type it instead. As such, the following are my disjointed Heroes thoughts, which I organized by character during commercials:
The new Candace... sucks. Sylar needs to make Candace dead. Also, Sylar has VERY pretty eyes. The juxtaposition of Sylar and a “Have a Nice Day!” mug makes me really, really glad. Hahaha SYLAR DOING THE NASTY WITH HIMSELF IS THE FUNNIEST MENTAL IMAGE I’VE EVER HAD! And yay, he made her dead just like I requested! Um… is Sylar going to hook up with Jack and Sawyer in a battle against the Others?
I love DL and shall miss him. A lot. But anyone who didn't know he was dead before Micah and Niki finished their first line in that first scene is retarded. Am I to assume that DL’s momma is an Original?
If Claire doesn't kill West soon, I'll do it for her, although I can’t pretend I didn’t laugh a little at one of his lines in their first confrontation. I know I saw Claire making out with him in one of the promos, but I kind of hope it was one of West’s wet dreams or something. The flying with Claire sequence made me physically gag. I swear to you, it made me feel absolutely ill. I HATE WEST TOO MUCH TO SEE CLAIRE SIMPER OVER HIM LIKE THAT. Ugh, dammit, NO STOP KISSING HIM STOP GROSS CREEPER STOP! Holla hell West is not going to enjoy meeting his new girlfriend’s daddy! Maybe he’ll step off then?
If Alejandro doesn’t stop getting arresting, I’m going to start fast forwarding through those scenes. And I disagree with his jailmate who said he looked like hell. He does not, no sir. Word to Maya using her power for personal gain! That makes me quite glad. Also? I love their new sidekick and his… Nissan Rogue?
Mohinder and Matt are the cutest couple, but in the last episode Mo's phone went off three inches away from Matt's head and he didn't wake up. Now Matt hears Mo shuffling around in the kitchen and he goes all secret agent super detective? If Matt wants me to like him, and there’s a chance that I could, he needs to work WITH Mohinder. And NO ANGSTING. Also, Mohinder is pretty. Is that his power? Being so pretty he melts the brain?
Holy holy crap, that painting better not show Bennet dead. I will go insane and kill everyone who has ever worked for NBC-- DAMMIT! Bennet! BENNNNETTTT! *convulses and dies* You must wear protective goggles EVERY DAY FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, BENNET MY LOVE!
Kensei’s facial expression after he heals is kind of awesome. It’s about time someone had a realistic reaction to superpowers. People in 1671 Japan fall in love extremely quickly. “Those are the 90 angry [something]” “*huge gulp* How angry are they?” Hiro had the cutest expression on his face when Yaeko was talking about Kensei. Poor little Hirano de Bergerac.
Peter’s new ladylove makes me very, very bored. However, I am in love with the idea of Peter as a bank robber. Is it my imagination, or did one of McOirish’s friends look like Richard Gere? Peter’s dark side is absolutely the most amazing thing ever! DANG he was enjoying killing that guy! But alas, he has been tattooed into Oirish permanence. Holy sh*t at the tattoo changing like that!
Next week? Nathan looks hella hot.

At least they had a shout-out to horn-rimmed glasses. :P I thought the greenscreen sequences were really poor too.

Oct 8, 2007 @ 9:03 pm
Ok, Flyboy needs to get sucked into a jet engine or something. He's a crappy character and the actor is not making him better. Same with the Maximoff twins.
They couldn't have gotten Missy back just to kill her off? That sucks. And I really think they blew some potential with her. Oh well.
I'd wish they'd stop being so dramatic with their stunt casting. Just let us see Nichelle, don't drag it out pointlessly!
Still, pretty good all in all.
Guy
Oct 8, 2007 @ 9:03 pm
Ooh, I liked it.
Maya and Alejandro - I loved them this week. Maya turning to the dark side for that moment? Wonderful.
Peter kind of bored me. I just can't help but think his character could be doing something so much more. And, seriously? Open the damn box.
Yay, Niki's back! True, she's pretty much saying the exact same words she said to Micah for the first half of last season, but at least she's back. And poor D.L. So obvious, but still sad.
Poor Claire, too. Can't catch a break, can she?
Sylar! Back to killing. Pity, really. I was starting to like Candice. (Michelle? Betty?) Oh, and the "Sylar on Sylar" fantasy was... wow. That would have been interesting.
HRG - Don't do it, guys. Just don't.

I KNEW that Malcolm O'Reed (Keating's character) would play a big role.
Yay for return of Sylar! And also yay for Claire & West - I actually liked the flying sequences.
Boo for not opening the box!
And if there was one thing I did NOT see coming, it was West showing Claire his scar.

Oct 8, 2007 @ 9:04 pm
I like in-control Peter, but I'm still not keen on the Irish clan plot-thing--even if the tattoo disappearance was pretty cool. And whoever's writing the West/Claire dialogue needs to, well, not write it. Also, I'm sure I'm not alone in the fact that I absolutely refuse to see a dead HRG, that's just completely unacceptable, Kring, so don't do it!

Such a tease though. . . They kill George Takei off two episodes before they bring Nichelle on. So close, yet so far.

God, that was awful. The plot is practically grinding and is not moving anywhere. I don't even know what that episode achieves apart from revelation that West was once tagged by HRG. But since I've read spoiler, that part was moot for me.

You sealed your fate the minute you showed Sylar that he could fuck himself.
Heh.
I love this show, but there are too many boring storylines going on right now: Ireland, Maya & Alejandro (snore x2), and Hiro trying to woo/not woo the princess. Bleh.
On the other hand, I think putting Micah in New Orleans (with Uhura!) has promise. *Fingers crossed*

Aww.... poor widdle Sylar. Thought you'd go to Maui only to be stuck in some forest.... Poor serial killer.
Yeah, West just needs to stop talking. And fly more convincingly. And stop being a douche.... yeah. That'd be nice.
I liked the tattoo Peter had disappearing, but first becoming the godsend symbol...guess Claire would have to forget getting a tattoo in a sign of rebellion.
And how awesome was the husband/wife bickering between Mohinder and Matt? All Matt needed was a yappie dog and Mo just needs to sport some HRG and it could be like my other delightful couple.

This is the episode of people just Not Being Smart.
Alejandro: trying to steal a car with no real plan- Not Smart
Candice: Trusting Sylar to not be a homicidal ass- Not Smart
Sylar: Trying to regain his former position in life with a big hole in his chest- Not Smart
West and Claire: Skipping school with no alibi- Not Smart.
Maya and Alejandro- $14 in their pockets to get across Mexico and the border- NOT SMART.
However, Matthinder's little domestic spat in the kitchen? WAY CUTE.

Oct 8, 2007 @ 9:06 pm
I didn't need to see Peter's chest spit out a bullet. Yech.
I DID need to see Sylar all frustrated and powerless and unable to properly access Candace's brain (without his laser finger pointy thing - what does he actually DO, anyway?). And now he's on the Lost island somewhere. Good. I hope he's very unhappy.
Micah seems like he's matured and Molly doesn't.
I actually think Wes is cute, but the flying was cheesy. I'm still sort of meh about the Wonder Twins.
The show continues to bring the hotness. And that was what's his name from Enterprise! This show continues to bring the Trekness.

I really don't like West, with his whole "admit you're different" spiel. And for a moment I thought I might forgive him when he took Claire for a fly (or whatever) until I noticed it was a bad effects fly. Boo. And as the cherry on top, he might have something to do with HRG’s death. Double BOO. West sucks.

Okay, this show is king of the cliffhangars. Claire and West kissing over a dead Noah? So not good!
I was going to say that I'm sort of warming up to West, even with the cheesy Superman flying sequence, but then the end scene with him and Claire happened and the painting and I have a feeling those good vibes are not gonna last long.
Just when I thought Peter was going to be able to get the hell out of Ireland he goes and doesn't open the damn box! UGH! I really want those idiotically accented Irish people off my tv screen and I mean yesterday.
I hope we get to see more domesticated Mohinder and Matt because they are just cute... really.

Firstly, welcome back Mr. Sylar! Sinister as ever, yet slightly diminished. Props to all who called the "Candace is really masking a fatness" thing, even though it's a rather easy route.
Secondly: Honestly, Clairebear! She knows that her dad used to do evil shit, right? Why is she so shocked?
The Maya and Alejandro storyline HAS to go somewhere for me. I don't want another week of them on the run and being fearful and their creepy powers. They have to make it to the states soon, damn it! At least the Hiro storyline moved a little bit.
Nikki and Mohinder have met before, right? Like, they'll recognize her when if they come face-to-face while working for The Company?
Next Week: Bye bye, Grizzly!Nathan.

Blech, yet another example of Heroes wasting an hour with repition, cheap thrills, shit we already know and a big surprise at the end meant to erase the previously stale 45 minutes of television. Peter is hot, and yes I, like my fellow gay men and straight women appreciate the work Milo has been putting into his bod. But if all a major network drama has to offer is beefcake, like why don't I just go watch some silly teen drama on the CW or Supernatural or something. I already KNOW Peter has lots o powers, why show me again he has lots o powers, why not have some cool character development built around yjpdr [pertd. This amnesia bit is just lazy story telliNg, allowing the writers to basically repeat the "golly gee, what are these powers" moments that dominated Peter's, and I use the term loosely, "character" in the first season.
I enjoyed seeing what we were able to of Sylar, but as usual the NBC promo department totally misleads the audience making you think its full on Sylar time, when in fact Mohinder gets to bore us all...MORE and Peter shows us stuff he already knows how to do. The only question is why do I keep watching this drivel.
The Maya and Alejandro storyline HAS to go somewhere for me. I don't want another week of them on the run and being fearful and their creepy powers. They have to make it to the states soon, damn it! At least the Hiro storyline moved a little bit
They are merely filler. Outside of the shocking reveal of Maya's powers the writers have no plan for them, but they also have to fill an hour of television and so, constant immigrants on the run highjinks.

Claire's teeth freaked me out a bit.
Right before Ando opened the sword, I said to my roommate, "Why doesn't Hiro just write someone on the sword so that Ando can know what the deal is?" and then when he opened it and found it, I realized....why isn't Hiro back? this should be easily resolved, if Hiro wrote all of this 350 years ago.
Stalker West, so creepy. Claire made out with her potential half-brother, who will probably kill her papaHRG.
Are we supposed to believe that HRG never told his family what exactly he did when he was with the company...?
When Tobby put his hand oh so awkwardly on Mo's shoulder, I totally thought he was going to Midas him :) that Bob is a wierd one.
Micah's Louisiana family - DL's? Not the grandmothers, though. Have we seen her before? Maybe this is a sign that DL and Simone were related and as a result..Micah?
Fabrisse
Oct 8, 2007 @ 9:07 pm
Incest is alive and well. Peter couldn't kiss the girl until she was family. *snerk*
I'm still bored by Maya and Alejandro.
Is it wrong that my first thought on seeing West's "company" mark was "YES! HRG has already taken the little punk down!"?
Missed Pasdar.
I have to say the Molly has two daddies sequences were hella cute. Mohinder and Matt talking about her nightmares and just generally working the relationship dynamic was great to see.
Sylar being powerless and remote could be fun. And I'm glad we have our answer to the "what does Candice look like?" question.
It was cool to see Nichelle Nichols and I want to see that family dynamic too.
Niki has the virus. I'm not certain I care as long as Micah's still around and safe.

I had no clue that was coming and it was very, very good.
It would be really helpful to the suspense if they don't mention her as a special guest star in the opening credits. They blew the Malcolm McDowell reveal last season too.
And yeah, oh, okay, Sylar lived because... well, basically a wizard did it.

Thank GOD Sylar didn't end up with Candice's ability. That would have caused SO many plotholes, all the size of a MACK truck.

At least Sylar can't use Candices powers. yet. it sucks that DL got killed and that HRG is gonna be killed. but it didnt show specifically who killed him or if Clare was kissing West. I KNEW the real Candice was fat!! I'm glad Sylar got her, though, 'cause I hated this new girl throughout this whole episode.
Maya was more tolerable this time ... perhaps because she wasn't being a crybaby.
So ... West and Claire are going to kill HRG? That seems out of character for Claire, but that was the way they were playing it up at the end, IMO.
Peter is awesome. Love the new haircut more and more. Love the darker side. Caitlin is ... meh.

This episode? I've seen better, but there were some pretty amazing parts.
The bad:
- Not opening the bloody box
- I don't like the ancient Japan storyline. Not at all
The good:
- I think the woman in New Orleans has special powers; I won't say Vodun because that would offend people
- Claire now has a hujge decision to make. I love how she said "Night Dad." Totally creepy.
- When HRG closed the laptop, I swear I saw fear in his eyes. Some of the best acting I've ever seen.
